The menu is varied, but the dishes take a long time to prepare. If you’re not in a hurry, it’ll do.

I enjoyed the stay and food inside a nice-looking restaurant. It is out of town, with some distance to reach it, but has attractive interior and serve good dishes at relatively high prices. Tomato soup was surprisingly tasty, even if it was not with basil but with green onions and bacon and tasty meat balls. Grilled salmon with asparagus like classics.

Pleasant place, friendly and efficient service. Relaxed atmosphere. On the edge of the city near a wooded area. Ideal for walking or cycling followed by something to eat or drink. Highly recommended.

For the umpteenth time, walk-ins are being turned away, and people with reservations can only hope for a table on the terrace. Pointed out to an uncivilized manager their method of holding empty tables—8 of them—for reservations that simply aren't there yet.

Nice terrace for a family dinner. The food was decent, but not top-notch. There were private parties going on both the left and right sides of the terrace, featuring a performance by a (very loud) male and female singer that completely ruined the atmosphere for the entire terrace. Extremely disruptive. You could barely speak to each other.

The food is okey considering the standards of the country. I tried the krabsoep and it was tasty. The service took excesive time between the starter and the main course which ruined a little bit the experience. The salads contain quite sauce which I disliked.

We had lunch and dinner here. Lunch was very disappointing. The shrimp croquettes were hard and the taste wasn't great. The dinner, however, was good. We had the 3-course menu. Marinated salmon as a starter, cod as the main course, and strawberry Romanov for dessert. The staff was very friendly. And the location is beautiful.

Everything was great overall. It's a very nice place to go and enjoy the restaurant and its atmosphere. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place to eat! And right in the middle of nature. On a warm day, we sat wonderfully on the spacious terrace in the shade. We enjoyed mocktails and homemade iced tea. It was difficult to choose from the extensive menu. Fortunately, there were also lunch specials on the menu, so you could sample a bit of everything. Moreover, the customer-friendly staff have a good sense of humor. And so it turned into a pleasant afternoon with delicious food.

We were late and wanted to have a drink. After two drinks, we were asked to leave.

Beautiful location and a nicely situated terrace with very friendly service. Where do they still ask to double-check the bill? The price-quality ratio is an issue, considering the previous reviews as well. I am not passing judgment. The fact is that the next day I paid considerably less elsewhere for lunch for larger portions of equal quality.

What an arrogant remark from the owner on Toko Wien. We used to come here for years, until the croquette with the 12 o'clock meat was suddenly only a third of the size of a normal croquette. So I completely agree with the reviews regarding the price charged compared to the meager portion of food you get. So, if you are going to eat here, stop by the non-arrogant and friendly chip shop before or after. Owner's response: if you want to eat your fill, go to the snack bar.

Everything is right here: location, atmosphere, staff, the food ;-) and the wine, and the price/quality.

Great location, also for parties..

I've been coming here for years to celebrate birthday parties for my brother or his sister-in-law. Usually in a group of 12. Delicious lunches or dinners. Always tasty, a great selection with something for everyone. Despite the crowds, the service is always prompt and friendly. Top-notch place.

We had a delicious meal, but above all, we enjoyed the friendly service. The (slightly) older man was fantastic with our children and was helpful in accommodating their ‘wishes’.

Michelin-star restaurant prices are actually really outrageous. Definitely not recommended. Almost 19 euros for 2 croquettes with 2 slices of bread! They really taste better at Febo. Never going to The Lodge Roosendaal again. I got a really childish reaction from the "owner". He really doesn't get it, does he? If you charge such high prices for your croquettes, they have to be of good quality. Outcast.

We had lunch here recently, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food itself was fine, but a number of "small dishes" arrived at the table cold, such as the omelet and the croquette on the charcuterie board. That is a shame, especially considering the price you pay. Additionally, we felt the charcuterie board was not really in proportion to what you get. For €45.50 (2 Visdonk charcuterie boards + 2 drinks), we honestly expected more, both in terms of quantity and quality. What was particularly disappointing was the service. We were not asked if everything was to our liking, and the staff hardly came to our table. Attention seemed to be focused mainly on a larger group in another room, making us feel a bit forgotten as guests. Eventually, we had to walk to the bar ourselves to pay, and there, too, we were not asked "was everything to our liking?" (If that had been the case, I would have mentioned it immediately). Furthermore, for us, it lacked atmosphere and coziness, which is precisely what is important when you want to enjoy a lunch together. All in all, this was not a pleasant experience, and we do not consider the price-quality ratio satisfactory. It is a shame, as we had expected more. We hope that you will work with us to find a suitable solution. Should improvements occur, we may be open to giving it another chance.

A gem of a restaurant. This is pure Burgundian hospitality. The location is very atmospheric. The menu is extensive and carefully selected. The drink selection is also excellent. The staff is very attentive, helpful, and highly professional. Reasonable pricing. A visit to this acclaimed venue is therefore highly recommended.

Upon arrival, we were denied a table with the statement that it was reserved. To our great surprise, that same table was assigned shortly afterwards to other guests who, as far as we could tell, had not made a reservation and were only coming for a drink. This gave us the strong impression that we were being treated unfairly. Furthermore, during our stay, we were approached twice by two waitresses asking if we had already made our choice, even though we had clearly indicated that we only wanted a drink and were still quietly enjoying our coffee. We perceived this approach as pushy and inappropriate. When we asked in a calm and polite manner for the reason for this treatment and indicated that it felt like discrimination to us, the situation escalated further. Instead of receiving a professional response, we were informed by a manager (identifiable by a white blouse and glasses) that we were no longer welcome in the establishment. We found this particularly shocking and unacceptable. The staff members involved, including a waitress with long black hair and the person in charge, behaved in a manner inconsistent with the basic principles of customer friendliness and respect. Not recommended!

Nice restaurant with fine dishes, even though I am not such a huge fan of the shared dining concept. We were advised to order 4 dishes per person but chose two per person, with delicious fries on the side. The time between the first and second course was quite long, 45 minutes for small dishes at least.

I have eaten at the Brasserie before. I don't really relate to the negative reviews I've seen here. It has a pleasant ambiance, with good choices on the menu and pleasant service. And as soon as you're finished eating, you can head out into nature for a lovely walk ☺️.

Sadly, the most disappointing 12-hour meal I've ever had: 1.5 slices of bread A fried egg slightly larger than a poffertje (small Dutch pancake) A 4cm croquette Some meat and a soup. At first I thought I'd ordered a children's version, but unfortunately, I had to pay 19 euros for this "meal."

Cozy catering establishment with tasty dishes at reasonable prices

On August 17, 2025, I sat on the terrace for a few hours and enjoyed four Cokes Zero and a cheese platter. It was delicious. You had to keep asking for what you wanted. The weather was wonderful. The restrooms were clean. A lovely spot in a beautiful, peaceful rural setting. The 24-euro bill was a good deal.

Yesterday, we enjoyed lunch at The Lodge, a wonderful and very enjoyable experience. Besides the delicious and surprising food, we especially enjoyed the excellent service. We especially appreciated Wendy, a professional with 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She's incredibly friendly, service-oriented, and always smiling. She delivers service that's rarely experienced. So, it was a double treat, and the owner should be very generous with an employee like her. Hats off, and we thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful experience of food and service.

What a lovely welcome 😊, soft brown tones and wood 😊 and a cozy atmosphere. Last night we called to see if there was still room for two, and after discussing it with them, there was one. Given the time, we only had a main course, which we didn't mind. We received a friendly welcome and sat at a cozy table for two. We opted for the "Baked Belgian Beef Steak," delicious and cooked to a medium boil, with a potato-broccoli tart and a mixed vegetable and... samphire! ..that was a surprising combination, very tasty! We also had fries, which were nice and hot 😊. We also had a dessert, Dame Blanche, and, for me, the strawberry sorbet, with strawberries and a splash of Cava, also surprisingly poured at the table, delicious! We enjoyed it and will definitely be back. 👍🍀

The service is excellent. The food is delicious and served luxuriously; you really feel like you are in a star restaurant. Highly recommended, both for small and large groups. Also nice: your dog is welcome, and on the terrace you will not be bothered by vermin or flies. The atmosphere, the location and the food make this a top restaurant!

Treated so rudely for the 3rd time in a row - 1st experience you want to discuss a wedding and everything is too much trouble - 2nd experience a family reunion was organised in consultation where it was really too difficult to make up the bill properly and the orders were closed without consultation - today we were shown a place but then sent away again, with an arrogant condescending attitude as if you were a non-paying guest. Really what a disgrace

Delicious food, friendly service at a beautiful location. The restaurant staff is attentive and goes the extra mile. The acoustic in the restaurant is good, even the restaurant was full with people, we could make conversation, without having to raise our voice. No pictures of the food this round, the presentation deserved it ! As this is far from my first review, I know the reviewer is asked for its recommendation, pick any dish, they all looked and tasted good, both starters and mains. Sorry we did not make it to desert but the locally branded coffee (van den Biggelaar) was great. Go for the few extra Euro's if you opt for the steak it's well worth it. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of parking. In today's day and age a couple of charging points for an electric car would not mismatch. This is more a matter of Roosendaal's municipality. All in all a pleasant experience and our next visit will be for lunch after a good walk in the Visdonk forest with plenty of woodpeckers.

Had a lovely lunch here yesterday in the sun. The food was delicious. However, there was someone in the service who was not very happy, she was a bit rude. The rest of the staff was very pleasant!

We were helped by a waiter who didn't know what was on the menu. We had to google it ourselves to find out. Seemed quite clumsy. For some of our table companions, the meat was not warm and the vegetables were not cooked. You don't have to go there for a vegetarian meal. There is a choice of one dish. Tablemates indicated that the dish was rather tasteless. This was with the exception of the goat cheese, because it of course already has quite a taste of its own. Tasteless food and cold and undercooked food was compensated with a free ice cream, which was nice

Attention customers! Recently had an unpleasant collision with Walter. I won't go into details here, but I advise everyone to be very careful. The gentleman immediately freaked out and started threatening. A wolf in sheep's clothing! People be warned!

Quite a large restaurant with the option to rent a separate room. It is a very cozy and friendly place to enjoy a delicious meal. The staff are friendly and hospitable. There is ample parking. Various cycling routes can also be chosen from this restaurant based on brochures placed at the entrance.
