A great place to enjoy a top-notch pastry and delicious coffee. Coming here to unwind after a lovely walk around the estate. However, in my opinion, this beautiful terrace in this lovely location does not need music. The music from the bar was a bit too loud! That is why I didn't give 5 stars, but 3 stars for atmosphere. It could easily have been 5 if the radio had been turned off.

A very beautiful restaurant right in the woods

Had a pleasant lunch in the brasserie's conservatory. The food was simple. The carpaccio lacked a bit of oil or truffle mayo for flavor. It was just meat with some lettuce and onion. A bit dry. The service was fine. It's a shame the weather was bad and we couldn't enjoy the terrace in this beautiful setting.

Great location and beautiful surroundings where you can take a walk and look around. Unfortunately, this results in high prices for the food you get. I ordered lunch for 17.50 euros, where I expected more than two slices of cucumber for a ‘salad’. The bread and the fried egg were also quite meager. Service was otherwise good, so it's a waste of potential.

We ate at Brasserie Staverden, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. The “Smash Kasteel Burger” was just a standard, thick burger and not what you expect from a smash burger. The children's pancakes also seemed to be reheated frozen pancakes. For the price, we really expected better quality.

Had a delicious meal today at Castle Brasserie Staverden; the service and ambiance were superb, highly recommended.

It's okay. Gruff, commercial service. Had a quick drink. A little further down the same plot is the local brewery; that's a much cozier place to have a drink and a bitterballen (meatball), nice service, chat, etc. Great!!

Beautiful surroundings, top location

I don't know what's going on this year, but the nice waitress from the past doesn't seem to work there anymore. I used to come here regularly and enjoyed it very much. A month ago it was incredibly busy, so you can imagine that you have to wait a bit longer. An unfriendly waiter who says "I'll be with you shortly..." and then forgets about you is not the best experience. I recently went again because it had actually been fantastic for years and I don't want to judge based on just one negative experience. It was a bit later in the evening and relatively quiet. The staff was busy clearing tables when, after waiting for a while, I asked if I could order; it turned out that none of them were allowed to take orders (that was the same waiter from the last time doing that). He said he would be with us shortly. After waiting another 10 minutes, we just left. It is a shame about the beautiful location, the stunning surroundings, and the menu, which is actually fine too! But unfortunately, past experiences prove to be no guarantee for the future. For now, we're going somewhere else; we'll try again in a while.

Running away when you ask for a cup of coffee, ask the other waiter that it has to be with my colleague; in short, we're off.

Coffee with a side, no menu available so we were told what pastries were on the menu. Unintelligible until chocolate cake was mentioned. And then came the Cappuccino with cake... a very small cup and a chocolate disc 😬, tasteless, really not good... the bill was on the high side. Later at home, we realized what we had been served was lactose and gluten-free. That really should have been mentioned. A shame.

Stopped for a moment at a beautiful location. Time for a cup of coffee with something to eat. Small (2 sips) cappuccino and a small pastry. Price € 21. If we had had a menu, we might have walked on.

Very nice place on a beautiful estate. The food was okay (the cheese on the fried egg could have been melted better). It is pricey, however, it is of course a tourist hotspot and it is not 2019 anymore. Friendly people and prompt service. On busy days the terrace is full; I sat there alone and groups of 4 were turned away because here and there there was only a table for 2 left.

Nice place, but busy with construction work, rather boastful with a cigar-toting crowd in the morning. An unsympathetic waiter who, when we asked for the bill, replied with "Luckily, I know what my job is," and that wasn't meant to be funny. There are nicer places in the area.

It's a unique location, the atmosphere and food were good, and the service was top-notch. We were also very lucky with the weather, so we received a small gift for lunch.

With a life-threatening food allergy, you have to pay extra here, and even then, it is not guaranteed to be safe. So, unfortunately, I didn't eat or drink anything. I wonder if people in wheelchairs might also have to pay extra?

A wonderful brasserie in a fantastic location. On nice days, you can sit comfortably on the terrace overlooking the garden. The surrounding area is also great for lovely walks. The food is excellent. We come here regularly, and it's always good.

Our favorite restaurant. The food is good quality for both lunch and dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great.

After a walk, we always enjoy a beer with bitterballen (a type of meatball) or lunch. We also celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary here. Everything was well taken care of. On to our 50th wedding anniversary. We'll be celebrating again at Brasserie Staverden.

Beautiful autumn at the Staverden estate. Lovely sunshine, so we had a lovely lunch on the terrace. Friendly service and delicious food! The castle itself is covered in scaffolding.

The game stew was tasty. The two soles were okay, but nothing special. The chocolate cake with coffee was delicious, but the Veluwe circuit wasn't very enjoyable.

A nice place for a snack and a drink after or during a walk, which you can also do there.

Leaky restaurant. Toilets are very limited. A men's restroom and a women's restroom in the basement. Not cheap.

Beautiful location in an idyllic setting

On our last day of cycling before the Green Divide, we were looking for a place to eat in Elspeet... unfortunately, it was Sunday and everything was closed. We found this brasserie via Google Maps, and it wasn't bad at all. Delicious coffee and a good "uitsmijter" (fried sandwich), which we definitely needed for the last leg. Friendly staff and a great location.

Een mooi terras dat we eerder hadden bezocht. Deze keer was het helaas een teleurstelling: het was een mooi dag maar de bediening was niet geintereseerd. Na lang wachten kregen we 1 menukaart, blijkbaar is dat voldoende terwijl er meer gasten waren en we wilde lunchen. Koffie besteld. Die kwam ook maar daarna is nooit iemand langs gekomen om de bestelling te nemen. Na 20min ( koffie was al op) besloten we om ergens anders te gaan lunchen). Er was niemand die zich om de gasten bekommerde, de ober zat ietsje verder naar zijn laptop te kijken, bij de betaling zei een serveerster dat dit her eerste werkdag was. Geen sorry, gewoon Doei! 8,4 voor 2 koffie, geen service, geen lunch. Dat vonden we geen stijl.

The problem with such a prime location is that people will come anyway. This has resulted in poor service, because, well, they just get away with it. In our case, this meant we had to walk up to the staff ourselves to indicate we were ready to order. We had asked for pencils for my nephew, and despite them saying they would get them for us, nothing came at all. Even when taking the order, the energy was more bored than enthusiastic or welcoming. It's just a shame. The food was quite good, nothing wrong with it, and tasty. The location and the interior decor are absolutely fantastic. But it's a real shame about the service. I hope that changes someday.

Four of us had lunch at Brasserie Staverden. It's a beautiful location with an atmospheric garden, where we were surprised by a friendly lady who put fresh flowers on the table – a thoughtful gesture. The food itself, however, was nothing special. While it was fine, I wouldn't go there specifically for the culinary offerings; the menu is quite average and quite limited. Unfortunately, our experience was seriously overshadowed by a very unprofessional waiter. He didn't seem to enjoy his job at all: no greeting, no smile, no sense of hospitality whatsoever. His communication consisted of curt, condescending language, completely lacking any engagement. A simple question about the location of the accessible toilet was answered with visible reluctance and an unfriendly tone. Fortunately, the younger employee who brought our food was friendly and courteous. Although we've experienced poor service in the past, this experience unfortunately stood out as negative. I shared our findings with the brasserie by email, but have not yet received a response.

Beautiful location. Large heated outdoor terrace on a lovely park in the woods. Nice and quiet in the evenings (if you like that, otherwise, come in the afternoon). Excellent menu, high-quality food, and service.

Very little value for money. 3 pieces of chicken, 2 thick sandwiches, and 2 lettuce leaves for €19. Other dishes were also very meager.

The atmosphere was good; it's a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting. The service was good, but often curt. The hot dish tasted good, nothing special, and we managed to finish it off our plates, even though it cost almost 100 euros for the three of us. It was truly outrageous.

I recently had a high tea. The location was beautiful and the staff was friendly, but for €32.50, the price-quality ratio was definitely not right. The sweets were very disappointing and certainly not all homemade. It also didn't live up to the pre-described high tea description. A disappointment compared to other high teas, and therefore not worth repeating!

Ate a fried egg sandwich, bread from baker Piet, cheese from the factory and the ham too, too bad. The salad on the side was very small. The service was mediocre, the arrogance of the lady who walks around with all kinds of ordering paraphernalia was unpleasant, even irritating, a little coziness does wonders, lady! The location is beautiful, the terrace is unfortunately crammed with tables, little privacy. Too expensive for what is offered!

We came to Brasserie Staverden for a business dinner with the team, and it was really a perfect choice! The atmosphere was elegant and quiet, ideal for both relaxing and having good conversations. I had the steak and it was truly sublime: perfect, juicy and full of flavor. The service was professional, friendly and everything went smoothly. A great experience from start to finish. Definitely a place where we as a team would like to come back!

Food was delicious nothing wrong with it. Service bizarrely bad. The people who looked rich got a nice chat and other people they let sit for a long time while they kept looking at you. We also were not helped quickly and had to get the cutlery ourselves.

The waiter who was there today, very uninterested someone who certainly should not work in the catering industry, I asked him something about the product, he did not feel like explaining it because I made the wrong choice, then I blame the waiter very much, I will definitely not come back here, the quality was very bad

Had a delicious high tea last Saturday. Outside under an awning in the sun. It was two courses. Start with a very tasty cup of soup, two pieces of bread and a pani puri with salmon. Then a three-tiered bowl of snacks. Everything prepared in-house. We had prepared for a festive high tea and we got it. I have not regretted the beautiful bike ride to Staverden for a moment. It wasn't sold out, but you do need to make a reservation. There are only a few dates in 2025 when this is possible. We were there on May 3, but you can also go on June 7, September 6, October 4, November 1 and December 6. In the autumn you will have to sit inside 😉 - it looks attractive.

Delicious lunch, but pushy staff, really a big negative, extensively aired and then the question just after we had finished the last drink. Asked again if we wanted to use anything and when we said no, oh, then we can pay. Extremely unfriendly and not hospitable. People can apparently afford things like that, but we won't go here anymore. It's disgusting. The staff is clearly tasked with scoring as much as possible.

On April 24, 2025, we had high tea here with a group from a nursing home from Ede in the beautiful and atmospheric brasserie. It was raining and the staff were ready with umbrellas when we arrived by bus. How great is that! The teapots, with different types of tea herbs, were already ready when we sat down. You could order the coffee. The high tea consisted of delicious snacks. One round savory and one round sweet. These were wonderful. What a great time we had. The staff was super friendly! There were 2 beautiful books, with text and photos, about the history of the castle. Also about the white peacocks and the beautiful, large garden. Nice to have seen that. After enjoying it here, we all went back to the bus. Also with the provision of umbrellas. Unfortunately it was too rainy to walk through the large garden. A reason to come back for that! Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!

2 koffie besteld en een appelrondje en cake met slagroom. De koffie geschonken in erg kleine kopjes en de "slagroom" kwam uit een spuitbus. Slagroom kost € 1,== per portie en is van waterige kwaliteit. Het appelrondje bestond uit gebakken deeg en de appel moet je zoeken met een vergrootglas. Bij een supermarkt heb je hier een hele spuitbus "slagroom" voor. Totaal prijs € 18,75 wat totaal niet in verhouding staat tot het geleverde. GEEN AANRADER DUS. Wij komen hier nooit meer.

Net zo als we dat de afgelopen jaren hebben gedaan, wilden we ook dit jaar weer wild gaan eten bij Brasserie Staverden. De Brasserie heeft tegenwoordig geen standaard dinerservice meer, maar er waren nog wel vier avonden met een wildproeverij. We boekten de laatste avond. De wildproeverij bestond uit drie gangen en een dessert ( € 54,50). We hebben er nog een lekker stuk warm desembrood bijbesteld. We begonnen met twee alcoholvrije aperitieven. Ik nam een op basis van vlierbloesem, mijn tafelgenoot nam er een met gember. Later namen we nog alcoholvrije wijn, die gelukkig steeds vaker aanwezig is in restaurants. Het voorgerecht was dungesneden hertenbiefstuk met minimaïs en speculaas. Vervolgens kwam er een soep van pompoen en courgette, die wel paste in het herfstseizoen, maar waar geen wild in aanwezig was. En dat was voor het eerst in de vele jaren dat we hier nu komen, dat er eigenlijk maar twee wildgerechten in het wildmenu zaten. Beetje teleurstellend. Het hoofdgerecht bestond uit twee mooie stukken reerug, die prima smaakten en lekker mals waren. Er was ook prima rekening gehouden met onze dieetwensen ten aanzien van knoflook Het dessert bestond uit chocolademousse en cerise sorbetijs en smaakte ook prima. Traditiegetrouw sloten we af met een cafeïnevrije cappuccino zonder en een gewone koffie met friandises. Alleen bij twee sterrenrestaurants moesten we hier meer voor betalen. 30% prijsverhoging hiervoor in één jaar is dan ook fors. De service was goed, maar bij dit prijsniveau zijn we wel wat beter gewend. Toch hebben we bij Brasserie Staverden weer een leuke avond gehad en zullen we volgend jaar vast wel weer gaan. Maar beste mensen van de brasserie: je prijs/prestatieverhouding nadert onderhand wel een onvoldoende. Eten: 8,5 Ambiance: 7,5 Service: 7,5 Prijs/prestatie: 6

Drinking coffee with something tasty. Unfortunately, there was very little choice of pastries, so we opted for the Veluwe apple round. Wrong choice... a dry hard apple cake for 4.50 euros that was not even worth a euro. Whipped cream was an additional 1 euro. The Czech walnut-honey cake was a better choice. Cappuccino was tasty. But the regular coffee had a lot of grounds in the cup. Not worth repeating.

Had lunch on the heated terrace. It's worth stopping here for the location alone. We received a super friendly welcome and a heater was immediately turned on so that we could sit comfortably. The sandwiches were tasty, but a bit on the pricey side for what we got. The location and service made up for that.

Deze plek was ooit heel gezellig leuk personeel en lekker eten. De koffie werd geserveerd zonder lepeltjes. Toen kregen we 2 lepeltjes waarvan 1 vies. Mijn Uitsmijter vroeg ik met dunne sneetjes brood wat dus niet zo werd geserveerd en het was bijna koud. De tonijnsalade van mijn partner was droog niet aangemaakt geen enkele smaak De bediening was matig. Was voorheen absoluut niet zo.

Beautiful brasserie on the estate. Today (20-10-24) we had a lovely lunch outside on the heated terrace. The melted brie sandwich is highly recommended. Delicious but pricey. There is a mega pumpkin on the terrace. According to the waiter the largest in Europe.

A surprisingly large restaurant on the estate of castle Staverden. Well laid-out, the venue comprises a large and sunny terrace, a greenhouse and a restaurant building. The menu is diverse and well prepared. We had one grumpy waiter, but the rest of the staff was friendly enough.

What a disappointment We started with a cup of lukewarm coffee, then ordered a Staverden 12 o'clock, no success either, cold soup and a fried egg and a croquette that were almost warm, returned the soup, the 'new' soup was no improvement, not even warm , probably been in the microwave for a while. When the waiter asked if everything was OK it was made known that we were not satisfied, no excuse whatsoever, just “would you like a cup of coffee from me?” “ Didn't think so, pay and don't come back.

Koffie stop gemaakt. Terras heerlijk warm door gahaardjes, op een regenachtige dag. Koffie was lekker. Chocolade taartje a 7 euro was kleiner dan gevulde koek. Klein rondje van sloffendeeg met daarop een dun laagje chocolade mousse. Slagroom apart erbij kopen. Dit was absoluut t geld niet waard

Was alone and sat on the terrace for 20 minutes without anyone coming to record anything. Around me, tables arrived later and were served with drinks and food. I looked like invisibility. Not recommended!

Recently had lunch at Brasserie Staverden. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. It was very busy and several staff members were very short, even bordering on rude. Had to ask for help each time and received short, blunt responses. When the food was brought it was practically thrown on the table without a word and the server bumped into my shoulder. This then continued as normal. The food was fine, but not special and therefore quite expensive. I expected a bit more for that price... Finally, the toilets were very dirty.. All in all not a good experience. Wouldn't eat here again. Unfortunately..

Very good food, with extremely polite service. Unfortunately, the orangery and greenhouse are already a bit old. But still very nice and romantic flair. Beautifully landscaped garden.
