What a lovely grand café this is. Great location, situated on a lively street with lots of passersby. The service was friendly and welcoming. We had a delicious meal and the onion soup was truly exquisite. Delicious in taste, highly recommended. A nice place to have a drink and a bite to eat.

Delicious food for a good price

Tasty snacks, food, and good drinks. All this at Henry's Pub. Live music. Very special. I wonder when they will have that delicious beef stew with fries again.

Tasty food without any fuss, though on the expensive side. Friendly service and a very large terrace. Unfortunately, there was a lot of smoking around us. It would be nice if that were more of a separate area where it was allowed.

We thought we'd just enjoy a nice bite to eat and a drink on the terrace. The staff walked past us three times and we weren't served! So we just left! Very disappointing! 1 star is still too much!

We had lunch first, sandwich of the day. Irish meatballs with satay sauce on a nice fresh bun. It tasted so good that we decided to come back in the evening as well. We made a reservation right away. In the evening, the quality was excellent again. The mixed grill was more than fine. Definitely worth it.

You can eat very well there, with a good menu and an atmospheric outdoor terrace, right in the center.

We ordered lunch. I have truly never been so disappointed at a restaurant. A slice of bread from the supermarket, the most pathetic slice of plastic cheese, eggs fried to death... I wouldn't have posted a review if the staff had been friendly! When asked if it was tasty, we indicated that we were a bit disappointed. We were simply laughed at and not taken seriously. Later, another lady came back who did exactly the same thing. Disgusting, really. Because of that behavior, I am happy to take the time to post a bad review. I am never coming here again.

Location: spacious. Overlooks a cozy little square. Service: okay. Toilet: fine. General: pleasant place to eat and drink.

Despite the bad weather, we enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee under the canopy with a small heater.

Generally one of my favorite cafe-restaurants, but my appreciation has recently dropped. After several requests for the lunch menu, the waitress appeared without it anyway, to take a drink order first. "We always have a drink first here!" This kind of arrogance in ignoring customer requests ("no, please Guests!") is annoying. Besides increasingly smaller cups, bottles, glasses, portions, and higher prices, the hospitality industry shouldn't engage in this kind of behavior anymore, otherwise I'll just stay home from now on.

If this is the best Ermelo has to offer, I would look further afield outside of Ermelo. I ate here on the recommendation of a local acquaintance. My wife had to sort out the sauce for her schnitzel herself, even though she had ordered it. The hot vegetables were served cold for all of us. Not recommended. You won't see me back here.

Delicious food and friendly staff

We didn't eat, but we had a nice party there. Unfortunately, the music on one side (where the tables and chairs were) was too loud to talk, and on the other side (where people could dance) it was much softer. But a nice atmosphere and good service.

We have been frequenting Ermelo’s restaurants for years; however, the Postkantoor had escaped our attention… Until last week. Great! Now, one swallow doesn't make a summer, so we couldn't avoid going there more often. We’ve eaten there 3 times in the meantime: it is summer! What’s good about it? 1. Reasonable prices 2. Good service 3. Food is OK, without vague nonsense like shared dining 4. “Chef’s choice”, a nice bargain 5. “Golden oldies” in the background What I like above all is that they organize events at regular intervals. Nice for a social setting. Keep it up! Tip: put a bit more vegetarian options on the menu.

Today, March 15th, was quite an experience at the Postkantoor. The European Sjoelen Championship was held here. For ten euros per person, you could register with a partner. There were 50 couples. The atmosphere was excellent, and you could pay for refreshments (drinks and coffee) with your purchased tokens. The Postkantoor provided bar snacks, and around five-thirty, you could get a plate of nasi with two satay skewers, peanut sauce, prawn crackers, and pickled vegetables from the buffet. It was tasty and well-prepared, and the cook deserves a big compliment. After dinner, the semi-finals and the third-place match were played. The final was incredibly exciting, and the winners beat the runner-up by just one point. The third team also deservedly reached the final, but they fell a bit short by a few points. Attached are the photos of the sjoelen tournament. Thanks to Karin and Henri, the cook, and especially the ladies serving us. In my opinion, this was a great success. Only had cappuccino. The cappuccino is excellent, and it's served with a mini eggnog with whipped cream. The atmosphere is nice, and you can see the history. In short, it was a delicious cup.

Grand Café Het Postkantoor in Ermelo is definitely worth a visit for its pleasant, inviting atmosphere and friendly service. It's a cozy place to relax. The omelet was delicious, well-prepared, and a decent lunch option. The price was a bit steep, though. There was also a slight miscommunication with my order. I had opted for the sweet potato fries, but was served the truffle fries. All in all, a nice place with a good base and a pleasant atmosphere.

A terribly poor, run-of-the-mill menu, poorly prepared and presented. Terrible puns (posti instead of toasted sandwich) – brrr.

Autumn (wild) menu. Disappointment already. The game trio starter was unavailable; deer carpaccio was an alternative. It tasted fine otherwise. Onion soup was excellent. The main course was a deer, wild boar, and poultry trio. It consisted of game pâté, wild boar fillet, and venison stew with overly salty fries. The dessert, forest fruit tiramisu, was a bastonje cake with some mascarpone and forest fruit jam. The recommended Malbec turned out to be the best.

We come here regularly. This time, the lunch wasn't anything special and was overpriced. Two white tiger sandwiches with three fried eggs is a bit steep at €9.00, and then you have to add 0.70 for each addition. The Croque Madam wasn't what we're used to at the post office either. Soggy bread instead of toast... Hopefully it'll be better next time.

The food was delicious, surprisingly large portions, which is something we're not used to at the coast. Friendly, efficient service. There's a special area for children to play or enjoy games. Highly recommended if you're in the area. We'll definitely be back soon.

Last Thursday for the 5th time lunched here and we don't do that just like that. The atmosphere is nice, the terrace is nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful but also the food is just good and the portions are generous. I read reviews from people who complain about the food. We don't really get that. If you have something to complain about, if it is justified then you should tell the staff. The apple pie is also really good and the Carpaccio even better.!!. We come from Zaandam to the Veluwe very regularly and the first thing we always do is make a reservation at Het Postkantoor for lunch. Next time we will go in September exactly the same again.

After I first got the wrong dish, which went back to the kitchen, my ordered lunch finally arrived: fried mushrooms with bread. It was downright unappetizing😩the mushrooms were almost black and dry as grit, not seasoned and the stems were still on the mushrooms yuck! Plus a little mayonnaise! I sent more than half back and the waitress reacted lukewarm! No further reaction!

Terrible, we ordered 2 carpaccio sandwiches, you had to look for the bread. Pickle just popped on top. Huge disappointment. Pay a high price and get almost nothing on your plate. Certainly not worth repeating.

Niets dan lof! Proeverij van de kaart gehad. Kregen spare ribs, zalm, gamba’s en ribeye. Met garnituur en 2 sausjes. Echt alles was op, verrukkelijk!! Dikke aanrader. We waren met de kinderen (8 en 10), die hadden ook alles op!

Great cafe for a company dinner. I arrived late myself, and I was immediately asked what I wanted. When the other's dishes arrived I was told mine would come a little later, but 10 seconds later my food arrived. Beautiful location and beautiful spaces. The heat lamps that were too hot were turned off when asked. Thus good service. Nice atmosphere and nice that there were games available, such as nail hitting

Ordered a tasting for both starter and main course. Highly recommended! We enjoyed it. The host is also a real host, just have a chat so you really feel welcome. Compliments to the chef, service and host! We will definitely come back someday.

Nice location in the center of Ermelo, with a good terrace, a very cozy restaurant, committed staff and enthusiastic managers. Good price-quality ratio. In Het Postkantoor vinden wij : Vriendelijke mensen en een gezellige sfeer, alleen koffie drinken = GOED ! Pannenkoeken eten = verrukkelijk ! Diner = laat je verrassen! Het is gewoonweg een zeer goede plek om te vertoeven, met z'n tweetjes of zelfs met een hele grote groep, bijvoorbeeld een bruiloftsfeest, daarvoor hebben zij een speciaal gezellig ingerichte feestruimte ( ze hebben geen glijbaan )

We had made a reservation on Tuesday for Sunday, but when we arrive they are closed... you say that during the telephone conversation. Google also indicates that they are open on Sundays, which is a shame, I was really looking forward to it.
