BROEI in Wijk 01 Stadskern

First and unfortunately we understand last experience with Broei Amersfoort. For the time being, only Broei's flagship in Utrecht on the Vaartsche Rijn will be available. A lovely spot on the Utrechtseweg, because of the sultry evening outside, at the bottom of the Nefkens building, just a little bit away from the center. Parking nearby or, like us, in Q-Park St. Jorisplein. We were surprised with delicious cocktails and mocktails and a 5-course surprise menu, 100% plant-based and beautifully presented. Variation with, for example, a piece of fish would have been appropriate. Casual atmosphere and attentive and friendly service. Until next time in Utrecht!

Really enjoyed our dinner here. The dishes were delicious, unique combinations that you have not eaten before and everything plant-based. Every dish was tasty. The service was friendly and cheerful. They took their time with the dishes so we could dine for a long time. There was a pleasant relaxed atmosphere.

What a wonderful restaurant this is! They know how to make good coffee, good food, tasty drinks, the atmosphere and entourage are super fun and don't forget the super ethics of not eating animals and being good to the earth! Top spot! Should be more of them!

We have been here for coffee a few times and now also tried the 5-course tasting menu and we love this place. Really interesting tasting menu, exceptional vegan food. My vegetarian partner says it's the best meal he's had in a while. A part of the restaurant is a more coffeeplace like space where you can read, drink some coffee, in a more informal way. Everything is vegan/plant-based but you can order cow milk and add an egg to your meal if you need. Don't miss out on the cauliflower wings, they are amazing.The other part of the restaurant is more formal 'fine dining' where we had a very good meal and some interesting drinks and lemonades. Would highly recommend!

Enjoyed Chef's menu! Every course was a true taste sensation. At home we eat vegetarian and outside the home my husband chooses meat. So it was different for him, but he enjoyed various flavors!

We had a delicious meal at Broei on Easter Sunday. The Easter menu was creative and very well prepared. We liked the fennel soup and parsnip cake with mango ice cream the best. Portions were just right. The service was friendly and there was a pleasant atmosphere.

The kitchen seems to focus mainly on haute cuisine with meringues and complex flavor combinations. Furthermore, poor service with excessive waiting times. Since the restaurant only serves one menu, the flow could be more efficient. The service was not up to standard. No one knew what was being served for any dish and one waiter was inappropriately overly friendly. The decor was very stylish and attractive, but that did not outweigh the disappointing dishes and mediocre service.

Went for the 2nd time tonight. What an experience! 🤩 We had a delicious meal and had one culinary surprise after another. Delicious combinations of flavors that you could not imagine yourself. And incredibly professional and attentive service by the two gentlemen who are really there for you with sincere attention and humor (what an infectious laugh 😍). And they seem to enjoy their profession immensely. The acoustics are also very pleasant, despite the fact that it is a large room. It is advisable to wear an extra layer because we found it a bit chilly. But it was also ice cold outside. Anyway: Definitely deserves 5 stars and we will definitely come back

It’s a quite new place in Amersfoort offering vegetarian and vegan food. Indoor is simple but tidy and stylish. Could be a little bit warmer because I had shivers while being seated. Service was ok, at the very beginning waitress was very pushy then didn’t come to the table at all. We have waited for the food over 1h and soup came without the spoon and again we had to look for a waiter to notice us and bring it. Food was ok, nothing extraordinary.

My girlfriend and I decided to eat at a nearby restaurant before the theater performance. We had allotted just under two hours for dinner. Once inside, it turned out that the chef decided what would be eaten that evening, no problem because everything is vegetarian, so we were surprised with a 5-course menu. There were plenty of staff around, friendly and skilled. However, it turned out that the kitchen could not cope (the restaurant will be almost full), because after 1 hour we had only had 1 starter. In consultation we were able to adjust our menu to a 3 course menu, which, after a few reminders from us, arrived just in time before we left for the theater. The food itself was small but nice, quite special. But not something for when you have a strong appetite. The atmosphere was not really our thing, we prefer cozy and cozy, but that is personal of course. Moreover, the stress about whether our food would arrive on time did not help.

Had a wonderful evening yesterday at Broei Amersfoort. This new restaurant is tastefully decorated with greenery and colour. We also didn't have the feeling that you were in a large restaurant because of the multiple corners. We opted for the five-course menu and it was great. The celeriac croquette with onion gravy was a particular favorite. Finally, the service was very hospitable, had humor and was attentive. When we arrived, we were the second to enter, but we were soon told good evening. It's the little things that sometimes make the difference. It felt like Broei in Utrecht. In short, an experience worth repeating and thank you!

I am also a vegan myself and am of course disappointed when a plant-based restaurant adds animal products again, and understand for ethical reasons that people can sometimes react a bit irritated to this. Focus on the positive reviews and have a little empathy for people who care a lot about animals (I assume this includes you) instead of calling them terrorists... The restaurant is full and people sit for a long time, so you do clearly something good.

I also really like the Nefkens building and what they have done with the interior. And, very nice staff, very helpful. We had a delicious meal at Broei. We already knew it from Utrecht. Always had a good meal there, but the service in Utrecht is really less. The service in Amersfoort is good. Sweet, cheerful people who keep a close eye on their tables. It's also nice that there is a play corner. We did not let our 2.5 year old child use it in the evening, but it is useful during breakfast and lunch. We will definitely come back again.

Remains top tent and received a nice explanation of why dairy is offered. Apparently Amersfoort is not ready for it, all vegan. I think it's brave that Broei is willing to reconsider choices in order to survive and flourish. It is special that the pro vegan activism online here focuses on brewing and not on the rest of the world, which does not even come close to any veganism. As an omnivore, I just walked in here once. That was no punishment. Choice of 3,4 or 5 courses entirely plant-based. For example, the butter is completely vegetable, and the milk is faded by oat milk. It's amazing what they can do with the different vegetables and preparations. You don't miss the meat or fish. 4 courses was also enough for me. All equally tasty and surprising. They need to do something about the 2p tables near the large sliding doors. These let a lot of draft through and that makes it really chilly at those tables. Several couples who sat there moved to another table after a few minutes. service is smooth and attentive.

This is a great place to be on a Sunday evening with a 4-course dinner for a good price. Good in taste and structure. Extra plus: Broei does not have Thuisbezorgd or Deliveroo couriers, so the focus is entirely on the customers in the store.

Had a delicious meal at this fine addition to Amersfoort. Not a large, lavish menu with 100 options, but rather small but nice. The atmosphere is pleasant. Both inside and outside. It was opening week when we came. After we got a seat the waitress completely forgot about us so we had to wait a very long time. Fortunately, waiter David eventually handled this nicely and well and the dishes came a little faster because we were hungry ;) We certainly understand this in such a starting week and assume that this does not happen during a "standard" evening. The quality of the food was delicious, so we will definitely come back! As we said: an asset to our city!

Had dinner at Broei for the second time last night. What a beautiful, attractive place just outside the hustle and bustle of the center with a lovely spacious terrace. But above all: delicious food! Nice surprising flavor combinations, beautiful products and presented like small paintings on a plate. We don't often find skilled staff anymore, but at Broei they have a top team that is enthusiastic and attentive. Hopefully the late summer or autumn menu soon? Then we will come and enjoy again!

Omg this is such a hidden gem in Amersfoort. It is a big restaurant with a nice terrace. It's also within walking distance from central Station. I went there with friends and we reserved the table in advance. The staff is really friendly and they speak fluent English as well. The toilets are also clean. If you go there during lunch time, you can order a la carte. During dinner they have set menu. You can choose between 3 or 4 or 5 courses. They also make their own kombucha. All dishes are very innovative. Highly recommended for vegan dishes

Last Thursday we had lunch with a colleague on the terrace at BROEI. We both ordered a ginger Sichuan pepper drink and the black bean burger. We found it quite disappointing. The black bean burger had a very spicy taste, but little variety in flavors (a sour or something crunchy would have been nice). It came with fries that were very limp and tasteless. And no salt or pepper on the table. The salad that came with it consisted of 5 leaves of lettuce and a few pieces of tomato with just some oil. For a vegan restaurant, you also expect the side dishes to be tasty and compliment the main course. We expected the drink to be spicy, but it was actually a sweet syrup with water, ice cubes and 1 slice of ginger. Shame. The service was not entirely smooth, but it was friendly. The other reviews are very enthusiastic, but my own experience makes me hesitate to go back again.
