Brood- en Banketbakkerij Afrah Fes in Slotermeer-Noordoost

I have enjoyed coming here to get fresh bread for over ten years, especially the dark brown round loaf (s3ir). Unfortunately, I have noticed that the quality has deteriorated significantly over the past year. Yesterday, I visited Afrah Fes’s bakery on Javastraat again. It seems as though the recipe has changed, because there is far too much salt in the bread these days. Additionally, I found a large piece of wood in my bread, which of course absolutely should not happen. In my opinion, the quality of the bread has clearly declined. I find that very unfortunate, because I always enjoyed coming here. After having already noticed that the bread was far too salty, I gave it a few more chances. But after my experience yesterday, I’ve had enough. It is a pity, because I was a loyal customer for years.

So, so many negative comments. But I really enjoy coming to this bakery from time to time. I really liked the cakes and cookies. And even though I'm not Muslim, the girl was very kind to me and spoke fluent English. Why are you addressing people of Berber descent in Arabic? It's no surprise that the staff refuses to answer you. I believe having a basic understanding of the culture of a particular people can help with effective communication. Or, as a piece of advice, learn Dutch already.

The grumpy male employee charged 2 euros per msemen on Eid al Adha instead of 4 for 5 euros (the somewhat younger employees are actually quite nice). Albert Heijn doesn't raise the prices of bread at Christmas, does it?!

DO NOT BUY YOUR COOKIES HERE❗️ This review is about the location in the East (Javastraat). I bought a platter of Moroccan cookies to take with me on a visit. I am so ashamed! The cookies were rock hard and had absolutely no taste. It is not normal for you to sell this as a business. Do something about your quality..

Today I was at Afrah Fes on Java Street. A customer who was ahead of me politely asked the employee if the cookies were fresh. The employee did not answer this but started laughing at the customer. The employees are very rude; they are not customer-friendly. Time and time again, I am surprised by their antisocial behavior. I asked if I could leave my cake in the store for a moment to prevent it from melting until I got my car. The temperature outside was 34 degrees. According to the employee, this was not possible, and she gave me a whole lecture about how everyone just wants to leave their cakes here.

Wonderful bakery! Everything is super fresh and top quality. No expense is spared: generous portions, rich flavor, and everything made with care. Highly recommended! When I’m at Plein 40-45, the first thing I do is run to your bakery to get some tasty Bastetals! 🤗

The price-quality ratio is off. The prices are too high for the product.

Unhealthy and bad products. Most of the products are yeast, soda, and sugar. Products only for market visitors. Too bad 🫣🤷🏾‍♂️

Goddammit, what old junk and bad quality. I thought I would take a nice chocolate cake and some kind of puff pastry that should contain pudding and pineapple. The chocolate cake was completely dried out, too nasty. And in the puff pastry snack there was 1 mini piece of pineapple and almost no pudding. Paid 5 euros for it together, a waste of my money.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Two ladies, super rude and unprofessional. I asked for something in Arabic, she didn't understand what I said even though I pointed it out. Then I told it in French, she understood and replied with “you should have said that earlier”. After having an altercation, she chased me to “beat me up” and I had to come “because otherwise I'll see what will happen.” No respect, those two should be fired. (Happened last Saturday)

what racism we have had here I went there with my wife to buy some cake the girls who work there didn't even answer for us when we asked her she is trying to help another Arab wallahi we cried we think it is halal and Islamic shops but if they are not respectful even though they know we are Muslim may Allah give Jazzah insha Allah

Disappointed that I was given 2 pastries that were inedible. Pastries were old, whipped cream was just hard, the pastry was so old, I immediately threw it away. I think it's a shame that you sell old food from a day ago or longer.

Plein 40-45 the REAL Afrah Fes, there are not enough stars for this Moroccan bakery. I come almost every day, everything is delicious and very high quality. All bad reviews are simply not true. I can confirm this.

Got chicken briwats two weeks ago. These were still excellent at the time. Large briwats richly filled. Really top notch. Today we drove to Amsterdam specifically for a new round. They were busy getting ready in the kitchen. Received in box. Once home, I noticed that the briwats were a lot smaller. For the same price. Anyway. During iftar, after the soup, I immediately started one....sorry, but what is this?! Filo pastry was thick and chewy and the filling was completely different! The mixture was much coarser and tasted less good and above all very dry. DRY BRIWATS?! I HAVE NEVER SEEN DRY BRIWATS!!! Take a lesson from this and make sure the product is consistent. You can't sell completely different briwats. People come with an expectation. And if that doesn't work out. Well. Then you lose them.

Bread, cookies and bastilla are delicious here. Wrap everything festively. Pure ingredients

This review is about Javastraat 66. I only come here for the millefeuille but today I was "helped" by 2 rude girls. I was not greeted and when I asked if there were any millefeuilles one said "No!" and walked away. I thought she went back to take a look, the other then said: "she told you there was nothing!". She could have offered me alternatives, and at least said goodbye and wished me well. Too bad about the terribly ill-mannered staff, I won't be coming back to this ball joint again.

BEST chicken briwat and fish briwat I have ever eaten! Very richly filled and the best taste! Real value for money. I always get asked which bakery I get them when I have visitors! Allahumma barek

Afgelopen vrijdag klein doosje koekjes hier gehaald. Gelukkig heb ik geen kilo genomen. Want de walnoot en amandelkoekjes die normaal heel zacht zijn waren kei hard. Zo hard dat ik ze niet eens kon breken met mijn tanden. Heel jammmeeer dat de versheid van de koekjes niet dagelijks bekeken wordt en het wordt verkocht terwijl het als steen is. Van het hele doosje waren er maar 3 vers en dat voor €7,50.

Ik kom al jaren bij deze bakker en in principe heel tevreden met het brood. Het stokbrood, de l7arsha en andere broodjes zijn absolute aanraders. Vandaag voor het eerst Turkse simit gehaald en het smaakt serieus naar modder, of hoe ik denk dat modder zou smaken. Simit hoort luchtig te zijn en smaakt een beetje zoet. Dit is een “schoenmaker” blijf bij je leest” voorbeeld. De rest gaat goed, laat de Turkse dingen voor de Turkse bakkers. Ok doei ☺️ Oh en nu ik hier toch al ben, kan iemand de dame die daar al heel lang werkt iets van service leren? Ze is altijd zo boos en doet amper moeite om mensen vriendelijk te woord te staan. (Jullie weten vast wie want iedereen klaagt altijd over haar, dame met hoofddoek rond de 30 jaar oud).

Dit is geen afrah fes meer sinds 2022 wij zijn boulangerie de quialite

Brood en kleine gebakjes zijn goed maar de taarten, msemen en 7arsha gevuld of niet zijn veel te duur en laag van kwaliteit. Personeel lijkt voor straf te werken, lach eens wat meer naar je klanten geef in ieder geval het gevoel dat men welkom is.

Lekkerste tompoucen van de stand (millefeuille heten die met witbruin gemarmerde bovenkant). In de ochtend vers gemaakt, een wandeling waard.

Hier vindt je toch echt een van de lekkerste kip pastilla en briwat. Kwam er ook vaak voor de gevulde rghayef met kip maar helaas zijn ze denk ik veranderd van de bakster die ze voorheen maakte in 2020 en 2021. Nu zit er kipgehakt met paprika in ipv van stukjes kip. Die met stukjes kip was zoveel malen lekkerder

Als je niet van Marokkaans afkomst bent, helpen ze eerst hun eigen mensen. Ik stond 10 minuten in de rij. Toen ik eindelijk aan de beurt was, ging het meisje achter de balie eerst haar landgenoten helpen. Niet leuk! Eten is voor de rest heerlijk..

Wat ik jammer vind. Je koopt iets op dag 1 en dag 2 en dag 2 smaakt het totaal anders gewoon niet lekker. Weg gegooid zonde van je geld. Je ziet duidelijk in de 2 filialen van bakkerij fes geen strakke lijnen. Ze hebben verschillende smaken. En ik verwacht wel dat als je een ander filiaal binnenloopt ze hetzelfde assortiment hebben maar alles smaakt anders. het belangrijkste is dat er volgens receptuur iets gemaakt word zodat de zelfde recepten in andere filialen word gebruikt om zo over 1 lijn hetzelfde aan de klant te bieden. Taarten zijn duur en vind ze allemaal naar slagroomtaart smaken. Ze zien er wel leuk uit op tafel zijn halal maar smaak is normaal geen wauw.

Ik heb vandaag een soort van vispasteitjes gekocht ( sorry ik weet de Marokkaanse naam niet meer) ze waren er met kip en vis… ik ging voor de laatste! Het was smullen geblazen!! Niet normaal zooooo lekker, ik proefde stukjes inktvis, garnaaltjes… morgen weer halen

Het is erg duur taart voor 15 personen voor 55€ is niet normaal.

€14 voor een standaard taart?! Doe ff normaal! Taart van plein 40-45 smaakt stukken beter dan dat van de Javastraat.

Duurt even voor mij om er te komen, maar heb het er voor over; heerlijke Marokkaanse bakkerij. Haal er Marokkaanse pannenkoeken, zijn prima van smaak en vers. Tijdens de ramadan en feestdagen verkopen ze ook traditionele lekkernijen.

Altijd vers en lekker vroeg open ook op zondag

Altijd goed, altijd vers,altijd lekker. Dit is zonder twijfel de beste bakker van Amsterdam. Ik kom er graag.

My first time to this part of Amsterdam and I was glad I stumbled upon this place. The food was good and the man working there was polite. The reason I give 4 and not 5 stars, was because the man didn't speak English... but why would he? We were in Holland!
