Well, what can I say? I think it's the best bread in the Netherlands. Ever since I was a kid, we've walked to the Albert Cuyp Market (1963) to get sandwiches. And now, in 2025, I make a special detour and go to Ruijsdaelstraat. Hats off to the best bakery, I'll be back soon!

A sausage roll is quite tasty every now and then, but as I was eating it, I thought, "What a sour taste!" By midday, I'd already had a bloated stomach and sour burps in the afternoon, and at night, I was on a heavy Iberogast! Nasty, smelly farts and diarrhea!! No more sausage rolls from them for me.

I often buy cheese croissants and the pepita bread here. It tastes really good! The people who work there are friendly and go above and beyond.

The smell from this bakery pulled me in from down the street. Great selection of sweet and savoury treats, and plenty of options that’ll keep me coming back to try something new each time. Only downside is there are no toilets inside.

The croissants 🥐 are excellent, but the service feels extremely cold and unwelcoming.

I rarely leave reviews, but this was hands down the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, and it completely ruined the atmosphere of the visit. The shop was empty when I arrived, yet the staff member, Claire, didn’t greet me at all, even after I said, “Hi, how are you?” I ordered a salmon sandwich and asked if it could be warmed. She bluntly said no, then handed it over in a way that felt almost thrown at me. No smile, no courtesy, just a constant “I don’t care” energy, as if serving me was a burden. I later ordered a cheese pastry, and her behaviour was even worse. I said, “Since I entered here you’re looking angry, and without any care to give a service — what happens? Are you happy? Do you always treat clients this way?” Her look and tone made it clear she couldn’t care less. It didn’t stop there. I asked if there was somewhere to wash my hands... she snapped, “We don’t have a bathroom for customers.” I then ordered a still water; she handed me a cold one, so I politely asked, “Sorry, do you have room temperature water?” She said “no.” I pointed at the bottles on the counter, clearly at room temperature, and she sighed, walked over angrily, grabbed one, and handed it to me like it was the biggest inconvenience of her day. The energy and vibe Claire created were so deeply unpleasant that I sat inside, took one bite, and couldn’t stay. I ended up leaving to eat outside, far from the shop, because it simply wasn’t welcoming at all. For a bakery with over 100 years of history and a reputation for quality, it’s shocking to see one staff member single-handedly destroy the warmth and charm that a place like this should have. Whether it’s lack of training, lack of care, or simply not wanting to be there, this kind of service drives customers away and ruins the legacy the owners have built.

Everything we picked up was genuinely delicious. We ordered to go. The almond croissant was rich and flaky, the coconut cake was light and just sweet enough — perfect with a cup of tea. The fruit tart was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced. Perfect stop for a quick treat or takeaway if you’re strolling through the neighborhood. The guy at the coffee section (with long curly hair) is extremely rude and disrespectful!. I have never been treated this badly anywhere in Netherlands. I ordered coffee and paid at the pastry section (the guy at this section was super nice) and told the other guy that I have an americano, he immediately started to shout arguing that he is serving another customer, yet there was no one in the line. There was a guy waiting near the section who I did not even see. I told the barista to be nicer (the long haired guy) and he got even louder and said I did not greet him with a ‘hello’. It seems like he is having a bad day or does really enjoy his job, but this should not be an excuse to treat customers as he is doing them a favor!!

Extremly rude people doing the Service there. They were laughing about us cause our English was not perfect! They putted extra the wrong product in the bag and when I notice it directly after I paid they didn’t wanted to exchange it anymore… very rude and disrespectful

Really fresh and crunchy products, the choice of bread is very good, unfortunately the service, I have at least that of two male people who every morning ruined my good mood for a week, it really shocked me. My only fault was not to speak both Dutch and English with mastery, once they understood it they tried to mock me and embarrass me. For example they put other products in the bag or they pointed out other products to me on purpose or they repeatedly made the wrong direction to me, exchanging friendly glances. Too bad one is tall and the other a boy with a dark complexion.

Wide choice of bread, croissants, brioches and savory snacks, all fresh and delicious. The coffee and organic fruit juices are also excellent, perfect for a healthy and tasty breakfast. The service is always friendly and welcoming. A truly excellent bakery, highly recommended!

we had breakfast for the entire duration of our stay because it was very close to the hotel but above all very very good. Rich in both savory and sweet flavors. Always very kind staff.

The filled Croissants?! Like whaaaat? So goood! We had a Chocolate and one with Almonds, delicious. Definitely would try other things.

We went there after visiting the Van Gogh Museums, and ordered an almond croissant and an apple pie, which were great and really well-made. The apple pie was the best we had during our trip and the croissant had a rich-almond filling! Beautiful architecture.

Bread & Croissants palace with royal prices and quality. All year: huge variety of bread, and of course the lemon meringue pie, the Swedish cinnamon roll, the sausage roll. Seasonal specials at Easter, Christmas and New Year (try the apple beignets with cream and cherry). You will love it.

Best croissant I've had in a long time. Deliciously artisanal and the butter tastes very high quality. Will definitely come back here

It's a nice and quick way and place to have some breakfast.

Actually the nicest of the four that I know. The pressure is not that high here and it is very friendly. And the bread and pastries, we should talk about that. The healthy bread is fine, that's what I come for. A sausage roll and coffee when I feel like sinning. Extra warm please. You can do that in that spectacular oven.

I had an apple pie here. It was good not that sweet. But it seemed very cold and not as fresh too. They have other options like fresh breads and other pastry. No toilets! Why? The staff was friendly though.

Beautiful bakery with apparently tasty products. However, tarts were old. Chocolate explosion returned...hard, dry and tasteless. The response was laconic and not like...sorry, you might want to look into something else. So we will never come back here again.

Convenient little bakery to pick up some of the numerous breads, or sweet treats. Also useful to grab a quick snack. Limited counter seating against the window. But probably not the place to go for ambience…

Nog even voor de Kerst een banketstaaf gekocht. Heerlijke banketstaaf was het. Top.

One of the best bakeries I've ever been. Food is amazing (shout out to the quiche laurraine). Staff is very helpful.

Gisteren een studiebol gehaald. Heerlijke bedoeling met veel rozijnen. Maken ze hier speciaal voor het begin van het schooljaar. Snel halen dus voordat het op is!

Right across the road from where I was staying, decided to grab a bite to eat, strolled into this place that specialises in cheese, with a nice layout, and shop front, all tiles, nice design, If I am honest this place stands out, lots of choice of foods savoury or sweet, and I purchased the salmon, rocket, and sour cream roll, and a danish pastry, I think I paid, €11 for all but they didnt accept cash, I had to pay with card but no worries, I did mention I should have choice. Sat down ate my food and on my way, always take a few pictures so I can leave a review. This place seem like it has multiple stores dotted around the netherlands, and first time to step into one, I think this store had a lot of investment, could be the flagship store of this franchise.

this shop is just a treat to the eyes. they have beautiful bread and desserts, and the lady there was very nice.

On the 24th of April, I bought: Almond chocolate croissant €3,85 Almond tart €11,95 Sausage Roll €3,9 Everything was very good, although the prices are quite high (the almond chocolate croissant was the most expensive one in my 2 weeks trip)

I recently visited a bakery and gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed the apple pie and croissant, they were delicious! The location is convenient, and the bakery is not too busy. The bakery is clean, and beautiful inside, and offers plenty of options for both bread and baked goods.

De broodjuwelier. Aan de prijs, maar oh oh wat een keuze, en superlekker. Aanraders zijn de kaascroissant (3?) en de foccaccia met tonijn (7.75eu). En er zijn ook koekjes, gebakjes, broodjes van luxe kwaliteit.

Pâtisserie with fresh and wide selection of pastries and bread. Place is popular and everything is fresh. Tried a few pastries and they were delicious. Liked a lot. There is a few kinds of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. So you can seat and try right away. The pâtisserie has interesting interiors in art nouveau tiles.

On a long and rainy day of exploring in Amsterdam the big and tasty Oliebollen were such a delight!! This iconic Dutch pastry is one of the trademarks of this bakery chain and it made our day.

Buonissimi sia la brioche sia il muffin. Buon caffè con latte, servito nel classico bicchiere coperto. È situato a circa 10 minuti da Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum e Moco Museum. Vale la pena passarci per la colazione se siete in zona.

Nice bakery chain, they have a sandwich section and a bread- desserts section. Bread is good , and they also have 2 vegan muffins. One raspberry and one chocolate one.

M'encanten els dolços d'ametlla i 'espéculos'. En especial el coret d'espècies farcit de pasta d'ametlla m'ha encantat. Hi tenen moltes especialitats dolces i també entrepans i altres productes salats. Tracte atent i agradable.

Quite dissapointed by my experience. I stood behind a lady at the premade sandwhiches counter as she was ordering something and paid for her sandwich. The medewerker then proceeded to go back to the Main counter ignoring me. I stood there for 5 minutes while the other medewerkers clearly avoided eye contact. Finally I ask them and they said get to the back of the main line. I did that and the only vegan option sandwich (of which their selection is terrible so don't even bother) was taken, so I left, experiencing another example of terrible Dutch service. Won't be returning to try again.

This is an excellent bakery to stop at on the way to the museum. I had a croissant and on my way back to the hotel grabbed a chocolate cake slice. Highly recommend for breakfast or a snack.

De broodjuwelier van de van Baerlestraat! Heerlijk brood, belegde broodjes, jus, etc... Iets prijziger natuurlijk, maar wel erg lekker!
