The food was delicious, that wasn't the problem. But then things went wrong. I pay for my food and am asked if I want it hot. I say "yes" because I wanted to eat it right away—otherwise I wouldn't have had it heated. I pay, my order is ready, but there's no cutlery. So I ask for cutlery. The first guy just wants to give it to me, but then a girl joins me and says it costs 10 cents. I explain that I don't have any coins left and that's why I want to pay by card. She then says it will cost 1 euro because I don't have any coins and therefore have to pay by card. I point out that she should have told me that right away, instead of waiting when I want to pay by card. That would have saved a lot of frustration. In the end, she wants to play smart with "it's already there," when she could have just given me cutlery.

I stopped by this sandwich shop today during work and ordered some sandwiches. I received friendly service right away and felt very welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant. The sandwiches themselves were fresh and incredibly tasty. The cod was especially excellent—"not dry or hard after heating, but perfectly cooked." You don't often find that in Surinamese sandwich shops anymore. In short: delicious sandwiches, good quality, and great service. I'll definitely be back! See you soon!

The food is amazing. Every time I feel happy and satisfied after eating. It’s not expensive as well. The place looks a bit off from outside thats why I didnt dare to go inside a shop to eat for like 6 months😄. But once I tried, then I love eating here. They seem not that friendly or happy, but their food tells otherwise.

Well, as a Surinamese, I can say the food was excellent (first time here). The lamb roti was okay. My partner and kids loved it, though. I'm used to much better roti at home and at other warungs in the Amsterdam area. The portions were very generous, but many things sell out quickly. You can skip the baka bana; it's not good here; you're better off trying it at a Javanese-Surinamese warung. The bara was also good, but not particularly flavorful. They could indeed be a bit more generous with the satay sauce, and the sambal pots are completely ridiculous. The chicken fachong sandwich was tasty, the pepper was also good. A bit more customer service would be nice. So, I'd say give it a try and judge for yourself.

The chicken curry sandwich with sambal and pickles is highly recommended! The roti chicken is also good, especially for that price. The portions are particularly large and enough for two people. It is a bit dark inside but it looks clean and well-kept. Great place for a quick Surinamese bite!

The food is always delicious, but unfortunately I always have to wait to see when they are open. I have stood in front of a closed door more times than I have ever been inside. Today I stood in front of a closed door again. It is finished for once. Too bad, but I will not come here again.

The food is tasty, the cook is good! But they still have to learn how to run a hospitable business. They find it difficult to greet the customer in a friendly manner, or even to look up at all. Things are regularly out of stock well before dinner time. We really have to arrive at 3 p.m., otherwise there will be empty bins. They don't make more. If you ask for red sambal instead of yellow, they say: "no, that's not possible." If you ask to put three things in one container, they say: "no, because the large container is for 400 grams and this is 300 gam." The containers are, according to the company, not suitable for the microwave; even if it still needs to be warmed up at home. The door says they are open on Sundays, but they are not. And it should come as no surprise that they will never fill the containers fuller than strictly necessary. But the food is tasty, it must be said. Update two years later: not much better in terms of generosity. See the photo for the amount of sambal they put in a container for 30 cents. We ordered four portions of sambal and received four of these containers.

This Suriname takeaway store serves outstanding food. The roti kip is excellent and full of flavor, I only had better roti in Amsterdam during Kwaku festival. The bami with kip ketjap has a lot of flavor and is excellent too. Sizes are good, prices are fine, the service is a bit slow and if there is a queue be prepared to wait. Their home made sambal is amazing but sometimes they give you fabricated sambal from the glass and the plastic servings are tiny. Many of their specialty dishes like liver or duck are often out of stock and they are ultra-spicy. My friend is convinced these meats are all cooked with love and lots of Madame Jeanette.

Here is an honest review instead of advertising talk between these reviews: If you are used to a good Surinamese eatery you will certainly be disappointed here, the food is mediocre to reasonable. they weigh everything (with scales) according to stinginess. if you're lucky, they have everything in stock. would you like a bara with chutney? you literally get a tea spoon for your bara and if you want extra you pay 0.30 cents per tea spoon. the food used to be better, but unfortunately the owner is no longer there... if you want stingy portions, don't want the highest quality food, and people who nail chutney and sambal then this is the place to be. Best regards, a customer who will never come here again

Budhram is mainly for takeaway food. They are really good, almost better than in Paramaribo. 1 portion is sufficient for 2 people. Always fresh sambal!

The food here is excellent and affordable. I don't live in Amstelveen, but I drive there especially for it!

Everything was fresh, portions okay, only the potato and long beans were very watery and not very tasty. Bit corny.

I've been coming here to get food since day 1. Customer focus used to be top. After not being there for a while I was there to get food. The service was nothing to write home about and the staff was terribly rude. The food had less flavor than before. There is no flexibility regarding how many grams you want because of some extras in a container, although that is not a very difficult calculation. In short, not flexible, not customer-oriented, rude and price ratio too high for what you get!

Doesn't know basics of treating kids who come to her shop. Someone should school her big time. If it wasn't for some nice food, I would never step in to see that sad face again. She didn't have the nerve to tell her name to a customer,. Would have loved to post along with the name !!

Ordered a chicken curry and telo sandwich with cod. Sorry, but it wasn't tasty. She put the chicken curry sandwich in the microwave so the sandwich was not crispy. The telo with bakkeljauw was also put in the microwave and was a limp wet snack....

We regularly get roti here. Always very tasty. The chicken fillet is good, but the tempeh roti is especially delicious!

Very bad. Dishes ordered (and paid for) online are not ready and what was ordered is suddenly sold out(?), even though the order was placed immediately upon opening. As a customer, you must provide your telephone number when ordering, but informing yourself is apparently too much effort. .

It is not fun when you are given old roti again and again and are told outright lies that you are getting fresh roti. We often get roti and we pass it through different people, sometimes you get fresh roti, you can notice that it is flexible and springy. With OLD rotis, it breaks off into pieces and the filling is very grainy. Especially if you come from Suriname, we know what fresh rotis are. I feel tricked by it. I like the food but it is ruined by old rotis!

Saoto soup here is the best in Amsterdam! The place looks shabby, but it's clean, and food is great.

Delicious vegetarian roti. The ingredients are well seasoned. Generous portions. A normal eater can eat twice of it. We had the 'Special' version (Tempeh and Tofu) for €8.50. What in my opinion is an excellent price. This Roti is definitely worth repeating.

The food is tasty but there is a lot of cutting back on the customer, one thing you should never cut back on in selling food is FOOD FROM THE CUSTOMER. Full portions is a busy business with returning customers.

Not being clear when placing the order, so that you as a customer do not get what you want, charging an extra full egg and showing no leniency and then not wanting to exchange or be flexible because it is not at all what you wanted to order . The rotiroll before was nice, but this experience ensures that I will not come back. You win 1.5 euros, but you lose a customer.. Bad service to just win a battle and lose the war. In short Bad service.

The food is okay (not a culinary masterpiece and is simply heated up in the microwave). Prices are slightly higher than in Amsterdam for Surinamese food, but that is not surprising considering there is little competition in Amstelveen. Normally I really have no problem with their hospitality, but today there was a young guy behind the counter who I found to be quite unwelcoming. I asked for a little cucumber pickle for my nasi, he thought about it for a long time, looking at the pickle in front of us (the container was half full). He says no, sorry. So me, why not? I just want to pay for it. He said bluntly (in my opinion stupid and demonstrably lacking commercial talent) no, sorry, we don't have enough. Well what a shitty unacceptable reason. I'll never come here again.

This place has two sides: The service is very bad - it almost seems like the staff is trained to treat customers badly. A note to the management: good customer service isn’t a bad thing. Train your staff to smile and treat customers nice. The food is nice but a bit expensive.

The best real Hindustani roti in Amstelveen! Chicken remains the tastiest and actually normal chicken (with bone) is the tastiest because then you can pick it. I think the roti with beef is actually too spicy. Anyway highly recommended!

The worst roti chicken fillet ever eaten. Madame Jeanette's taste is missing. Limp garter. Glassy potatoes. In short, I will never come here again. Then drive a little further to the Venserpolder (Southeast) or the Van Woustraat in Amsterdam.

No shrimp long bean sandwich, so I had a long bean sandwich. Asked for pickles and sambal. They both forgot that. Bun old and crushed in a waffle machine. Roti chicken leg with sambal. Forgot sambal there too. Better to drive a bit further to a place where food is important to them. Everything was cold and there is no interest.

We've been here a couple of times and the food is exceptional. But i just went there tonight but they'd closed half an hour early. Extremely disappointed. We have guests and we'd planned this meal all day. Now we have nothing to eat.

Good roti. However, they work very inefficiently, sometimes you have to be inside for 15 minutes before your pass is helped. If one person would take orders and one person would handle them, everything would go much faster.

Very tasty dinner tonight. Some colleagues thought it was not spicy enough and the sambal was too weak. Personally, I thought it was just right. Well, tastes differ. We had ordered and paid for ginger beer, but it was not included. It turned out when I returned to the office... It will be fine next time, because I will definitely order here more often.

Very tasty food and in my opinion the best Surinam Rotiship in the Netherlands (and i have tried quite a few). I lunch there everyweek with collegues and its great value for money. The meals are not to small and have lots off flavour. One thing to keep in mind your clothing will smell like food after visiting. So leave your fancy suit at home. Highly recomended but expect a line around lunch time 12-00-1300

It was my first time in the mall and I walked past this place. First I looked through reviews on the internet and decided to get food today, so I ordered a roti with chicken fillet and I also wanted a hot chicken sandwich, but unfortunately he didn't have the latter anymore, so I went for Bana. I also asked if they could package it properly because I still had to travel a bit due to the cold. This was no problem, it was well packaged with foil. The place looks neat, friendly staff and generous portions that are affordable. And really delicious food, everything went well. Was quite busy, lots of regular customers. I fall under that now too ;) If you like delicious Surinamese food, you should definitely go here... TOP!

The roti is the best in Amstelveen and the immediate area! Usually make roti yourself, but in between we also buy the roti chicken fillet at Budhrami. Always very friendly staff. It seems very strange to me that someone here says in the reviews that they have "a big mouth" and threaten people. But if that person in the store reacts the same as here in his/her review, then I understand it a little better. You sometimes have to speak to antisocial people at their own level. But it's just complete nonsense! All the staff are always very friendly. Yes, sometimes they are very busy and have less time. So what...!! You come there to get good food, not to be entertained! The only sad thing I think is that they don't sell really hot pepper (sambal) with it. They now sell a "Dutch" version of the pepper. Almost not hot, but still with a nice pepper taste. In short: Budhram's Rotishop is highly recommended if you want to eat tasty, real Surinamese/Hindostan roti for a fair price.

Really great Roti, but they are not businesslike. If we order online, they have had no internet for days. I ordered online, 'no, that's not possible, we haven't had internet for days.' such a shame that they have no business acumen. They could have already had several branches, but they think too small.
