The pizza crust lacked flavor and was a bit tough.

The food was cold; it came straight from the refrigerator. Too bad. The soup was good. But the chicken sandwich was really cold.

REALLY TERRIBLE FOOD. We had the spinach ravioli and a veggie pizza. The spinach ravioli was tasteless, and the ravioli dough was way too thick. The pizza was a joke. Hardly any cheese, no pizza sauce. And a really strange aftertaste. I still can't place it. Absolutely disgusting. Don't come here if you like Italian food. The service was otherwise excellent.

Just sat on the patio for 20 minutes, then went inside to ask if we could be helped outside, and still no one. After 35 minutes, we left. Unfortunately.

The food was truly delicious, but when I had to use the restroom, the pizza did rise a bit. An average pub restroom is even cleaner.

Delicious food! Great atmosphere! And a Roman candle birthday party was easily arranged. My daughter thought that was a really nice bonus for her birthday.

The food was delicious, but we had to constantly wait for service when we wanted to order drinks. We also had to wait half an hour to order dessert after calling the waiter ourselves. So, the service wasn't great.

The service was smooth and efficient. The acoustics in the restaurant are very poor. Furthermore, the five of us each had a different dish, but we didn't enjoy it at all. It lacked flavor and we experienced stomach discomfort later in the evening.

After hearing a few different stories, we decided to try Burgemeester van Napels through Social Deal. We were surprised by the quality of the food. Not everything was perfectly on point, including a mediocre bread platter and the tiramisu's somewhat watery texture. However, the pasta, pizza, and other desserts were very good. The atmosphere was great, a bit street-style, and the service was excellent. The waitresses were friendly and attentive, nothing to complain about. I'd definitely return.

We recently dined at Pizzeria Burgemeester van Napels, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. The lasagna I ordered was overcooked and therefore less flavorful. My husband's pizza was also a bit burnt on the bottom and lacked flavor. For the price, we had hoped for a bit more quality. Perhaps it was just a bad evening in the kitchen, but we would recommend La Strada in Leeuwarden to others. We've always had good experiences there.

After an hour and a half, still no food, even though people around us were getting it, we left. No apology or compensation for the drinks. We won't be coming here again, partly because of the crammed seating. Poor service.

The restaurant has the acoustics of a factory hall. Like a chicken coop. You can't hear each other at the same table. The service is friendly, but lacks clarity, which causes customers to leave early. The first soup we received was cold. The second was piping hot and quite spicy. We paid quickly and left. We'll avoid this place.

Italian restaurant (mainly pizza but also pasta) in Leeuwarden city center. No reservations, but luckily there was still room for two. The wine and coffee were excellent. The pizza was nice and hot and tasty. The Scropino was delicious.

Heerlijk gegeten hier via sociale deal maar zou ook gewoon heen gaan. Heerlijk eten voor nette prijs. Open keuken en vriendelijk bediening. Was erg druk wat al zegt dat het goed is.

A lovely outdoor terrace overlooking the beautiful courthouse building! The service was unfortunately not attentive; I even had to go inside to ask them to take our drinks order (even though it wasn't busy)! Such a shame! I found my salad a bit sticky, but my husband's spaghetti was good!

I'm not one to complain or write a bad review, but unfortunately, I can't be positive this time. Due to an autoimmune disease, I have to eat gluten-free. I've always dined at Burgemeester van Napels without any problems in the past. This time, however, things went wrong. When I placed my order, I clearly indicated that I had to eat gluten-free. The server indicated that there could always be a risk of traces, which I understand and accept. That's simply not always avoidable. But a little later, he returned with the message that the gluten-free pasta is prepared in the same cooking water as the regular pasta and asked if this was okay. I explained that this was absolutely unacceptable and that I'd never experienced this before. According to the server, this was always done that way. Unfortunately, there also seemed to be little willingness to consider this, because "due to the crowds," it really wasn't possible to cook the pasta in a separate pan. Only after my table companions insisted was there some assurance that the kitchen would "do their best to prepare it separately." At that point, I no longer felt taken seriously and should have decided not to eat. But hey, you don't want to be the unsociable guest at the table. Gluten-free dining is always a challenge, so quickly going somewhere else on a busy Saturday night without a reservation wasn't an option. So I did eat, but unfortunately, I ended up with a stomach ache. It's a shame it turned out this time, because I've had many good experiences here before. I hope this was just a one-off and that they'll be more vigilant in the future.

We've rarely seen such a wonderful team working together. We were seated at table 300, and the two ladies and gentleman served us wonderfully, and the food was delicious. We're fans.

We sat at the children's corner, which was perfect. The service was terrible. After fifteen minutes, my boyfriend went to the bar to ask if we could order drinks. This continued the whole time. We immediately ordered everything because I had a feeling it would continue. We were there just before 6 p.m., and the pizzas arrived at 7:15 p.m. In my opinion, that's way too long, and the place wasn't even completely full. My pizza was absolutely terrible. There was no sauce on it, and that's my own fault because I hadn't noticed. However, I do think you should emphasize this or make it clear, because it's standard practice to have pizza sauce on your pizza. My boyfriend did like his, and I'm glad he did, because we were there for his birthday. All in all, a disappointing evening, and we definitely won't be returning.

An authentic Italian restaurant (at least that's how it feels) in the heart of Leeuwarden. Delicious and with a wide variety of pizzas, served by friendly staff. Just a bit pricey (for a student).

What a terrible experience. The pizza dough was tasteless, tough, and had a nasty aftertaste. Absolutely inedible. And then they dare to charge ridiculous prices for it. Absolutely not value for money. The waitress was friendly, but that's of little use if your complaints are ignored. In short: a terrible place. A waste of time and money. We will never set foot in there again.

"Large" pizza for a large price, small results For the mere sum of €19, I got a "large" pizza—at least, according to the menu. In reality, it looked more like an oversized children's pizza. The dough? A true culinary mystery: tasteless, with an indefinable aftertaste and the texture of wet cardboard. Crispness? Only with a bit of imagination. When I expressed my disappointment, I was politely thanked for my opinion, but no further hint of financial compensation—because, of course, everyone experiences food differently (except any pizza maker with a shred of self-respect, who would undoubtedly give this pizza a big failing grade). In short: an expensive lesson in what not to do. Next time, I'll just get frozen—cheaper, better, and at least you know what you're getting. The waitress, by the way, did her job perfectly.

A very atmospheric Italian restaurant in the heart of Leeuwarden! 🍕 The pizzas are authentic Neapolitan with a light crust and pure flavors. Highly recommended: the pizza with prosciutto and burrata, and the appetizer platter with cheeses, meats, and grilled vegetables. The pastas and desserts (like the tiramisu) are also excellent. Attentive and friendly service completes the evening. A wonderful evening out in a cozy setting! 🇮🇹✨

Good menu, tasty food but above all excellent service.

Sat here on the terrace last weekend. What a drama this was. The food is great, inside there is a nice restaurant with a nice play corner for children. The terrace is very disappointing, almost no service to be seen. When I went inside to check I was told that she would be there in a minute, when I was outside she quickly walked behind me and then first started to help people who had just sat down. There were still empty glasses on our table from the previous visitors. In the end they came to our table four times (taking orders, bringing drinks, bringing food, checking if everything was to our liking). None of these four times did the service think to take those empty glasses with them. When we left more than an hour later these glasses were still on a corner of the table. If it had been super cheap, fine. But unfortunately that was not the case either...

Smooth and friendly service. Only pizzas with little to meager "topping" and a lot of dough. Pasta dish with a lot of pasta but no filling, finishing, garnish and 6 scampi I find not comfort the price of € 20, - unfortunately. Taste was good, but that was the only thing that was good.

We bestelden een lasagne en 2 pizza’s. De lasagne bleek lauw, maar wel gaar, dus niet vers maar (slecht) opgewarmd. Teruggegeven en vervolgens 15 min gewacht. De rest was al klaar met eten toen ik mijn (nog steeds niet gloeiend hete) lasagne kreeg. Beetje jammer! De 2 pizza’s waren oké maar ook niet echt bijzonder. De glazen prosecco waren wel royaal gevuld.

We eat here regularly and receive good service. A clear menu with good products. For families with young children, there is a nice play corner. In short, highly recommended.

Gezellige plaats in centrum Leeuwarden! Lijkt bij het binnenkomen niet zo groot, maar dat is anders. Ondanks de drukte werk er nog een plaatse voorzien, zonder te reserveren. Heel vriendelijk personeel en zeer behulpzaam. Prijzen van goed mee , wij namen 3x pizza en was reuzelekker met een prima deeg!

I had to wait a long time and eventually I went to get the menu myself. Besides, I had to wait half an hour for my beer and fifteen minutes later I got my food.

We had our dinner with 5 people. Getting our Peroni beers took more than 35 mins , when we asked it, the waitress told us "they are making it" ?!🤔 should not be made in Italy? 😀However pizza is not delicious for sure... Do not recommend pizza , especially four cheese pizza (Pizza quattro formaggi) was made by two types; dutch kaas and gorgonzola.

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant, we ordered an Italian toasted sandwich with Salami. I thought it was a shame that they didn't serve pizza for lunch because we were looking forward to that. But I still enjoyed the sandwich.

Basically, all the ingredients are present, good oven, beautiful ingredients, nice atmosphere and excellent service. Still disappointing. It may be that the dough did not want to cooperate at one time. But the base was a bit tough and the base completely lacked a crunch. Maybe try again soon to see if it was an exception.

We had dinner here and first of all, this is a super nice restaurant with friendly service. We had a nice young man who could talk nicely. The rest of the service was also very nice. I took a look at the kitchen and the chefs look like they know what they are doing, especially the guy with glasses seems to do it with a lot of passion. The food was very tasty, we will definitely come here more often

I strongly advise against this restaurant for vegans. The only option offered is to omit the cheese from the dishes. What was left of the pizza I recommended was a bare base and some vegetables that could hardly be penetrated with a knife and had little taste. I expected a bit more creativity.

Ate with my son, 7 years old. Had a delicious pizza. Nice staff. Good location. In the city center.

Enjoyed a 3-course social deal here for the second time. Last time we got so much from the first course that we could hardly finish the pizza. Now taken as a vegetarian starter. All in all, a good choice: excellent quality for a great price!

Zonder reservering op zaterdagavond 23 november 2024 bij de "Burgemeester van Napels" binnengelopen, om een hapje te eten. We werden in de eerste instantie vriendelijk welkom geheten door een nette dame. Het restaurant bleek nog niet vol te zijn en was half gevuld met een gemêleerd publiek. Het interieur is modern (industrieel) en voldoende sfeervol. De façade van de burgemeester functioneert als zodanig. Het duurde slechts enkele minuten voor de ware aard van deze "horecazaak" zich ontvouwde. De jonge heer in de bediening heette ons niet welkom en wilde de bestelling voor drinken opnemen. Verder dan dat zijn we niet gekomen. Hetgeen mij in de gelegenheid stelt om het hier in detail neer te pennen voor geïnteresseerden. Een van de leden van mijn gezelschap (een jonge moeder met migratieachtergrond) vroeg bij het bestellen van de drankjes om een glaasje water voor haar peuter. Dit werd tot mijn verbazing geweigerd door de mannelijke bediening. De reden hiervoor is dat je alleen spa rood of spa blauw kan bestellen en geen kraanwater wordt geschonken. Hierop hebben we om verduidelijking gevraagd. Hierop werd geantwoord dat je kraanwater uitsluitend krijgt naast een ander drankje, bijvoorbeeld een glas wijn. Om deze zinloze discussie direct te beëindigen een fles wijn besteld en om de manager gevraagd. Dat bleek een even hallucinante ervaring. De beste man heeft namelijk niet geprobeerd om de situatie te begrijpen of hij wordt slecht geïnformeerd door zijn eigen bediening. Hij hield het op een misverstand en was binnen enkele seconden weer verdwenen. Laat mij duidelijk zijn dat van een misverstand geen sprake is. Dit restaurant maakt de keuze om geen kraanwater te schenken, omwille van omzet. Dat is een gerechtvaardigde overweging, zeker voor een middelmatige pizzeria. Ik denk echter persoonlijk dat je weinig van gastvrijheid en medemenselijkheid hebt begrepen, als je uit winstbejag een jonge vrouw schandalig behandeld door haar kind water te weigeren. Ik heb daarom besloten om deze pizzaboer per direct te verlaten. Op de weg naar de uitgang, ook aan de "manager" medegedeeld hoe ik over zijn werkwijze denk. Hij vond het vanzelfsprekend. Toen ik aangaf dat ik het van "god los" vond om zo met een jonge moeder en peutertje om te gaan en dat hij naar mijn bescheiden mening niks van horeca of gastvrijheid begrepen heeft. Daarop gaf hij aan dat hij "mij hier niet wilde hebben" en graag wilde dat ik wegging. De waarheid is soms moeilijk te verdragen ... Beste man, alsof ik nog een seconde langer in jouw restaurant had willen blijven. Wat voelde de frisse lucht lekker, in tegenstelling tot de verstikkende atmosfeer in "de burgemeester", waar moederliefde botst met jullie verdienmodel. Het moment dat jullie de deuren sluiten, organiseer ik een pizza-avond.

In this review I share my most mind-blowing experience in thirty years of catering. Walked into the "Mayor of Naples" without a reservation on Saturday evening, November 23, 2024, to have a bite to eat. We were initially welcomed friendly by a nice lady. The restaurant turned out not to be full yet and was half filled with a mixed crowd. The interior is modern (industrial) and sufficiently atmospheric. The mayor's facade functions as such. It only took a few minutes for the true nature of this "catering business" to unfold. The young gentleman serving did not welcome us and wanted to take our drink order. We didn't get any further than that. Which gives me the opportunity to write it down here in detail for those interested. One of the members of my party (a young mother with a migration background) asked for a glass of water for her toddler when ordering drinks. To my surprise this was refused by the male waitress. The reason for this is that you can only order spa red or spa blue and no tap water is served. We have asked for clarification on this. The answer was that you only get tap water in addition to another drink, for example a glass of wine. To end this pointless discussion immediately, I ordered a bottle of wine and asked for the manager. That turned out to be an equally hallucinatory experience. The best man has not tried to understand the situation or he is poorly informed by his own ministry. He thought it was a misunderstanding and disappeared again within seconds. Let me be clear that there is no misunderstanding. This restaurant has chosen not to serve tap water for the sake of turnover. That's a justified consideration, especially for a mediocre pizzeria. However, I personally think that you have little understanding of hospitality and humanity if, for the sake of profit, you treat a young woman shamefully by denying water to her child. I have therefore decided to leave this pizza shop immediately. On the way to the exit, I also told the "manager" what I thought about his working methods. He took it for granted. When I indicated that I thought it was crazy to deal with a young mother and toddler in this way and that in my humble opinion he did not understand anything about catering or hospitality. He then indicated that he "didn't want me here" and wanted me to leave. The truth is sometimes hard to bear... Dear man, as if I would have liked to stay in your restaurant a second longer. How nice the fresh air felt, in contrast to the suffocating atmosphere in "the mayor", where motherly love clashes with your revenue model. First of all, very friendly employees! Very nice that everything from the regular lunch menu is included (reserved via SocialDeal). Nice location where you can sit comfortably. Most importantly: we had a delicious meal!

Menu is limited (certainly compared to the previous one). Food doesn't taste bad, but not that you would come back for it. Space is clean, easily accessible. Staff correct, but not predictable on which side you will be served. The previous design appealed more to me. Price-quality nothing wrong with that. Will come quietly if it suits me.

Slechte ervaring op een zaterdag. Half 1 besteld en om 14.00 uur na drie keer vragen eindelijk onze lunch. Broodje bevatte verkeerde ingrediënten. (Courgette in plaats van aubergine) in de salade ontbrak de sinaasappel. Ook was het personeel erg kortaf en onvriendelijk. Bij het afrekenen was het excuus dat ze geen drukte hadden verwacht en daarom te weinig personeel. Ik kreeg ter compensatie 1 van de twee drankjes gratis. Nooit eerder meegemaakt maar dit was echt een slechte ervaring.

Their Spaghetti Bolognese is great! But I have to admit that I miss the days when the Bolognese was served with Tagliatelle. Also this restaurant has some of the friendliest staff I have experienced. Edit: they actually do still serve the Tagliatelle Bolognese! During Lunch hours it is usually served with Spaghetti, and during dinner hours it is served with Tagliatelle. But if you ask they will serve it with your preference. Thanks Burgemeester van Napels!

Very large restaurant. Delicious food. For the little ones there is a nice, somewhat shielded play corner (approximately 3x3 meters). Service is very friendly. We didn't have to wait long despite the busy Saturday evening. We came with 6 people and we were able to start all three courses together. Portions were more than sufficient. We had to stand in line at the cash register to pay. That is really something that needs improvement. It took too long and this is visibly annoying for both the customers who want to leave and the customers sitting at the table around the line. Sanitary facilities were clean.

Made a reservation at 6:30 PM, 8:15 PM we got our food after asking a few times, the pasta was just hard, undercooked food, given back, but that's how they serve their pasta?

Wir hatten eine Pizza Capricciosa, einen Salat und ein Kinder-Nudel-Menü. Es war alles gut, nichts überragendes. Dafür hätten die Preise gehobenen Standart erwarten lassen. Der Service war sehr freundlich.

We were out for dinner as a group of friends. First of all, it was very nice that we were addressed in Frisian by the staff. I would like to see more of that and having it happen here was very enjoyable. The food was of course good too. Tasty pizza and pasta.

Ended up here via social deal. We actually never do this, so we didn't really know what to expect when you want a front row seat for pennies. Well...it was great! Tomorrow morning we can skip breakfast again. And delicious! Very friendly staff and the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and informal, ideal for a nice meal and chat with friends, family or relatives. We'll go again next time, with or without a social deal.

The food was delicious, both the pasta and the pizza. The service was very poor, the table was not cleared, we were not asked what we wanted to drink and only after 20 minutes did an employee come to our table. We stayed put because it was already later in the evening, otherwise we would have chosen a different place.

Currently a fair in Leeuwarden. The host/waiter with glasses is great; easy to talk to, dry humor, understanding and has insight/overview. As far as we are concerned, he made the difference today.

I was worried about how long the Pizza's would take based off previous reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. Service was friendly, pizza was INCREDIBLE, it took less than 30 min. Really would recommend this to people and we'll certainly come again!

Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Daar was echt niets op aan te merken. Maar dat het eten: Misschien zijn de pizza's hun paradepaardje maar die hadden we dus niet. Mijn dochter had de lasagne bolognese die zij lekker vond. Nu vind zij de Albert Heijn kant en klare lasagna ook lekker. . . en zo smaakte die dus ook, echt exact het zelfde Mijn vrouw had de pasta met garnalen. . . Welgeteld 5 garnalen, de room saus was wel lekker. Ik had de pasta met tonijn. . . .die kwam dus rechtstreeks uit een blik, daar werd ik wel verdrietig van. Nice that you can choose half a pizza plus salad. We were a group of 8. It took a while before all the food arrived. Not everyone was satisfied with the food. Not hot enough, too much oil, way too many dough sheets in the lasagna. But others in the group had a delicious meal.

Good quality pizzas, but we need to work on the seasoning... In my capricciosa pizza I found that the top part of the pizza lacked mozzarella and the mushroom pieces were too thin. Unfortunately, these shortcomings made the flavor of the tomato sauce prevail..

This is currently the best pizza in Leeuwarden, absolutely no doubts. Good dough and good ingredients. Fast and kind service. Don't forget you will have the best tiramisù in town. I am italian.
