I found it a surprising dish on the lunch menu: Salade Mexica. I have actually seen such a surprising salad on a menu before.

Super fun place! Very frequent live performances and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended. You can also enjoy beautiful walks and bike rides in the area.

Took a break during a bike tour. Immediately felt comfortable and took a longer break from the rain. Oude Culemborg Kaas is highly recommended.

What a lovely restaurant. Nice terrace and beautifully decorated inside. But above all, the people who work there make the difference. Had lunch with a buddy during our bike ride. As road cyclists, we felt welcome, which is unfortunately not always the case. Top-notch place!

We hosted a drinks reception for 40 people at the Genieloods on Sunday afternoon. The space is perfect for such a group. Thanks to the beautiful weather, the magnificent doors were open, allowing us to enjoy the stunning location. The appetizers were top-notch and the service incredibly good!!! They do everything possible to make the party a success. Highly recommended!

The moment we ordered coffee and cake as a group, we were immediately told in an unfriendly manner that, as cyclists, we were not allowed to consume a gel (specific nutrition for athletes) on the premises. That would have to be done outside the grounds on the dike. Definitely not worth repeating.

We had lunch at Caatje today. It was quite busy. Fortunately, we had reserved in advance. A relaxed atmosphere. The service was fine. Friendly staff who helped quickly despite the crowds. We chose the smoked salmon salad and croquettes from Kroketterij de Bourgondier. Both plates were presented appropriately. We enjoyed both dishes. In short, a place that deserves a recommendation.

It's a shame that seats are by reservation only. Of course it's busy on Easter Monday, but this is a bit excessive. Caatje is getting a bit too full of herself for a walk-in venue.

Caatje aan de Lek, Culemborg Caatje aan de Lek is a wonderful place to completely unwind. The location is beautiful, right on the Lek River, and there's ample parking nearby. A big plus is that dogs are welcome, making it especially pleasant for walkers and dog owners – especially if the dogs are well-socialized. There are beautiful hiking trails around Caatje aan de Lek, making a visit perfect for combining with a pleasant walk along the water and through nature. The food was delicious and clearly prepared with care. The plates are beautifully presented, and the atmosphere is friendly and warm. The hosts are friendly and create a relaxed, pleasant experience. Definitely a place you'll want to return to. We enjoyed a lukewarm goat cheese salad (highly recommended), croquettes with artisan bread, and a smoked steak on bread with salad. The desserts were also excellent: warm stewed pears with ice cream and whipped cream, a lava cake, and lemon ice cream with limoncello. The ice cream is organic and has a unique twist thanks to the use of organic fruit combined with herbs – truly surprising and refined. In short: a beautiful location, good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and plenty of reasons to definitely visit Caatje aan de Lek again.

Pleasantly busy; I had expected the gravy with the steak to be a bit browner and tastier, but the meat was deliciously tender. Don't forget to have a Caatje on tap. An incomparably delicious craft beer!🍺

Beautifully situated restaurant with a fantastic view. I often come here for lunch. Great atmosphere and service, good food! And keep an eye on the Caatje aan de Lek calendar! They hold some fantastic (music) events outside, and with summer temperatures, it's a wonderful place to sit.

We just popped into Caatje's for a drink. Upon entering, we asked if there was a table available, and the owner told us he had one table in the sun. We replied, "Oh, none in the shade at all?" The gentleman replied, waving his hands as if we were crazy. "Can't you hear what I'm saying?" Ridiculous!

Ask for the owner if you want to have a free comedy show. Great character! Definitely a place to return to.

If you're looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing spot to enjoy a cold beer on a summer day, this is the perfect spot. Its location, relatively secluded from the city center, allows you to unwind with the sounds of the wind and birds. The staff is very polite and hardworking in the heat, going above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I haven't tried the food myself, but what I saw passing by looked very good.

We waren wat te laat maar dat was geen probleem. De bediening was vriendelijk, de lunch op zich goed maar wel flink aan de prijs. Nadat het de eigenaresse duidelijk was dat we na de lunch geen drankje meer wilden bestellen werd direct de rekening gepresenteerd en ons door haar vriendelijk doch dringend verzocht om het zitje vrij te maken. Dat is jammer, want veel langer dan nog 10 minuten waren wij niet blijven zitten maar dit ongastvrij-zijn gaf wel flinke afbreuk aan de ervaring. Wij zullen hier niet snel terugkomen.

Wat een attente, enthousiaste en gastvrije ontvangst op een bijzondere locatie. Een heerlijke lunch, voor elk wat wils en een meer dan voortreffelijke rosé uit Basilicata. Daarna de toetjes. Niet te versmaden. En dat alles op een unieke locatie aan de Lek, even buiten Culemborg. Tot slot een mini rondleiding van de eigenaar. Kortom, we hadden een geweldige middag. Dank aan de eigennat en aan alle attente medewerkers.

Vorig jaar zijn wij voor het eerst geweest en hebben een lekkere lunch in de tuin gegeten. Deze fijne ervaring wilden wij vandaag herhalen, maar helaas: bij de ingang kregen wij de vraag of wij wilden eten of drinken. Wij wilden eerst koffie gaan drinken en dan rustig iets uitkiezen van de kaart. Van de eigenaar worden wij doorgestuurd naar het eind van de tuin naar een paar ongemakkelijk zitjes, waar wij zelf onze koffie moesten halen. Én wij " mochten" niet langer dan een half uurtje blijven. Voor ons een reden om direct weg te gaan en nooit meer terug te komen. Aanrader voor de eigenaar: spoedcursus klantvriendelijkheid.

We zijn hier vaker geweest voor een borrel of diner en dit is heel goed. Zeker de spareribs zijn aan te raden! Vandaag voor het eerst wezen lunchen en wat een teleurstelling was dit! Voor €18 een broodje ‘gerookte biefstuk’ gekregen wat geen biefstuk was maar carpaccio en op 1 kleine boterham werd geserveerd. Mijn man had een broodje humus ook maar met 1 boterham. Voor dat geld verwacht je toch tenminste 2 boterhammen. Wij hadden daarna nog allebei honger, dit lijkt me niet de bedoeling als je ergens gaat lunchen. Wij hebben dit vriendelijke aangegeven toen de serveerster kwam vragen of alles gesmaakt had. Dat het broodje heel lekker was maar echt veel te weinig. Niemand is hier in het vervolg op terug gekomen. Het was op zijn minst netjes geweest als iemand nog even naar ons was toegekomen hierover. GEEN LUNCH meer voor ons bij dit restaurant als je tenminste met een volle maag wilt vertrekken,

A great lunch, not much choice, but very tasty.

Owner strange bird, food tasty but price quality not okay. €8.50 for a cup of watery asparagus soup that contained half an asparagus in thin slices (the taste was okay) was a good price, brown bread was really nice and fresh and crunchy. Service is young girls but very nice and attentive. Reception upon arrival by the owner who said he had no more room while almost everything was empty... but okay, there must be a reason for that... he was short-tempered. We sat for 45 minutes and ordered. 3 mint tea, 2 cups of water soup with half asparagus and two apple pies with whipped cream cost €39.50 and gave €5.00 tip. So we didn't sit on a few bottles of water for an hour. When leaving, my husband wanted to ask a small question if there was somewhere you could ask about the history of Everdingen (his father had grown up there) ... the owner was very disinterested and pointed out that Everdingen is there and radiated from hoop on. Did notice that the owner was very busy with people who probably came there often and was funny about that and always hugged those people. Felt a bit insulted as if we as passers-by didn't really matter! We are almost 70 and not into writing reviews, but we wanted to give one a try this time! And no, don't be afraid that we will come again or recommend you!

Beautiful location to have a nice lunch. Especially when the sun is shining, it is nice to relax here at the picnic table or even better on the lounge sofa. Nice menu and when ordering from here you will be surprised with a beautifully presented plate. And not unimportant: also super tasty. Plenty of parking space and also a nice place for a nice walk along the old bunkers. Children can run up and down beautiful green hills here and will certainly have fun here. The parents can then be provided with a tasty snack in a quiet environment. Staff very friendly and helpful. If the weather is nice (also in prospect), it is advisable to make a reservation.

Caatje aan de Lek is a beautiful place. We arrived there after a 15 km clog path and some grumbling was noticeable from the quartet of stomachs. What followed was a lunch like you don't get anywhere anymore. Just a little bit different, really delicious and finally something other than just a choice of the standard sausages and standard sandwiches that you encounter on every street corner. The icing on the cake was the customer-friendly staff and the surroundings and the view. It was raining a bit now, but there is no other way: on beautiful summer days ☀️ this is a dream place. 💭 Thank you! Until next time

Nice meal. Friendly service. Very good cappuccino. We also liked the tomato soup and it came with a large slice of country bread with a tub of butter. Plenty of topping on the bread with delicious fresh crispy salad. My sister got a glass of tap water for free. That's neat. I think €4.10 is extremely expensive for a glass of fresh mint tea with honey. We sat in the conservatory. From there you have a beautiful view of the greenery around you. It is very reverberant. Perhaps this can be solved with a sound-resistant ceiling? This is much less the case in the restaurant area. Open kitchen so nice to see what people are doing.

This cozy restaurant is located in beautiful surroundings. I had lunch there. Caatje is located in the middle of the country, so making appointments is easy here. The lunch menu was not excessive, the food was tasty. Large parking lot. The only thing missing for me was a charging station.

I accidentally came across this gem during the tour on the dikes along the Lek. A beautiful location with plenty of parking. The menu is small but nice, so the food comes through quickly. The quality of the organic ingredients is top, the food tastes excellent and the service is friendly. We never actually go there, but if it happens again we will definitely come back.

We were so hospitably received here! Wanted to sit outside while it was still drizzling a little. But took out the parasol and dried the tables and chairs. Had a nice meal and went outside again for a last cup of tea. Nice place in a beautiful location!

With a small group of motorcycles reserved in advance and an expected arrival time stated, ultimately arriving 10 minutes later than expected we received a strange comment from the owner that we were 'too late'. Very customer unfriendly! The sandwiches tasted fine, but that was okay for the money, the ratio of quantity and price is not really correct. A chicken sandwich for €13.95 is on the expensive side for the amount of chicken included. Next time we'll continue.
