Cabrón in Oude Pijp

I wanted some real mexican food and drinks, and this turned out to be really close to when I was in Mexico for vacation. Great food, nice flavours and nice seinks as well. Service was also pretty fast and kind. Recommended!

A hidden gem! Gorgeous place, amazing tacos and super friendly staff. We've been trying a few places for tacos and this is definitely the best so far. Not sure why some people on here are saying it's expensive, it's in line with other Mexican restaurants in Amsterdam and inflation is a thing unfortunately.

A place where it's easy to spend hours in a very welcoming, cheerful, and flavorful atmosphere. Surrounded by soft Mexican music, you'll eat and drink a lot, as the products are of the highest quality. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! Drink the paloma.

The food here is excellent! Flavorful, rich, and unique. Not so much Mexican as south of the border mixture. I had three dishes and they were all delicious. Definitely try the mushroom tacos and duck enchiladas. Service was fast & friendly. Photos don’t do it justice, gotta try for yourself!

Had a great meal in Cabrón, The tastes of all the dishes were delicious and surprising well! Will recommend the pork tacos and the cake at the end of the meal.

I love this place, one of my go to restaurants in Amsterdam. Occasionally can be a bit cramped and loud but generally a great experience. Expensive but it’s a nice occasional treat.

Fantastic experience at Cabron yesterday!! Everything was 10/10 🤩 my personal favorite was the Agua Chile with scallops - it was really an explosion of flavors! Special thanks to Alex for the great service!!

I wish my mouth was big enough to fit the whole quesabirria with consome in 1 go. Leaving the authenticity judgings to others, but the flavours and textures were great. Had a coriander/cillantro jalapeno mocktail specially made for me. The jalapeno is such a fantastic addition, and not even the littlest bit of spice for a no-spice-tolerance-shame-of-the-family asian like me.

The food is really tasty but not value for money.... €15 - 18 for a main and you will still be hungry. On the left €15! Not coming back

Food was good but the portions were very small and they charged us a double portion while we ordered single We ordered a make your own taco for 2 people and they gave us for 4, which we only found out after paying because we thought it was a portion for 2. (It’s all in one plate, the amount just increased) The amount of taco’s they give for a portion for 4 is also way too little. When asking for more taco’s they gave us 3 small ones for 3 euro, which also wasn’t sufficient. The amount of guacamole for the totopos were way too little, as well as the size of the croquettes for the price they ask We ordered a quesabirria for almost 20 euro, but it was just a single peace which isn’t even enough to be full Cocktails are also way too expensive for the ambience they created. Prices are as if you are in a premium cocktail bar, but it’s a taco restaurant starting from 14/15 euro. Food overall was good, ambience was nice, but the prices and portions are totally out of contrast and would definitely not go back. They have to increase their portions or decrease their prices We left hungry

Had an excellent meal on our last night in De Pijp. The guy serving was so friendly and helpful, gave us tasters of beer/mezcal when we asked about them. The food was superb, some of the best Mexican food I've had. And great to meet Django, the resident dog 😀

Been going here since 2022 and loved it. However, recently the management, prices increased and quality of food/service has gone down dramatically. Very sad that this go to place has turned into something unenjoyable and overpriced… it’s real disappointment 🫠 now I have to go all the way to the West to get good tacos.

Really liked this place. Very authentic and the food was very tasty and not your stereotypical tacos and nachos type of menu you know... However, I must say that it is a bit expensive for the portions you get so be ready to spena some money if you wanna be full by the end of the meal. The staff were super nice and friendly and always attentive to our needs!

Heel erg goede kwaliteit eten! We hebben de make your own taco’s gegeten. Leuk om zelf aan tafel te maken en heerlijke smaak. We hadden een klein voorgerecht en dit was een goede keuze, want we zaten niet mega vol na het hoofdgerecht.

Closest I’ve had to real Mexican food in Amsterdam and really nice staff!

Really nice atmosphere and super nice service. Compared to many places in the Netherlands this was a really good Mexican spot. The only thing is that It got really busy and there was only one server so the service was delayed. I will definitely go back and highly recommend.

Perfect place for an evening of Mexican food in Amsterdam. Incredibly hospitable service and they serve delicious food. There is a cozy atmosphere with good music. And in addition to delicious Mescal, they also serve beautiful wines!

The bill was 100 but they charged 150. Only because we checked the bill we saw they charged us 50% (!) more. Absolutely ridiculous. We didn't even get an apology or drink on the house. Wont be eating here again, your staff has no manners and don't even speak dutch. Also: the taco platter for 2 had visible chunks of barely cooked garlic in it. We didn't eat it as it was way over the top.

One of the best restaurants I visited in recent times. The tacos are absolutely delicious! I recommended the aubergine Taco which is a flavor bomb in your mouth. Also their spicy margarita is awesome. It's a little pricy for the quantity they serve.

The service was friendly but the space between the tables were really small. My boyfriend and I had croquetas, 2 portions of tacos and 2 cocktails for 70€. The tacos were really nice but we find that the price for croquetas was very expensive (11€ for 4).

I booked with a coupon that they advertized (19€ for a 5 dishes menu). When I walked in and asked about it, they said that they don't provide this service anymore. Instead, they offered the standard 40€ menu. Quite upsetting, we walked away. The coupon also didn't have any expiration day, so it felt quite "sketchy" to not accept it, after just 1 week of booking it. Edit: The owner made up for it. Happy about the quality of food and drinks. Definitely a quality place!

We had a 5 dish menu and it was delicious! Everything tastes really good, although it's a fixed menu and won't be able to choose. So we have ordered some extra dishes. It's a small and cosy place, staff is friendly and there is music!

Sometimes the food was just a little too 'special' for me... everyone has their own taste. The music was nice and the interior beautiful. In terms of drinks, there were also plenty of tasty treats

Best taco place in Amsterdam, Cabron is a funny name. We love taco’s in Mexicocity, the real thing, no Tex-mex. Cabron brings these things to Holland, amazing shrimp and clams cocktail, perfect spicy. Great octopus and the best ever crispy pork. We could eat this every day. The friendly crew knew exactly when we get thirsty and manage great cocktails and beers. Iff there were stars for taco’s Cabron deserves a star. We would recommend to make a reservation. Iff you are Mexican and want to feel at home in Holland go to Cabron.

Kleine porties voor een toch wel behoorlijke prijs. 30 euro voor 6 kleine wraps met een potje vlees en 3 kleine potjes saus en koolsla (waar je eigenlijk maar 2 wraps mee kan beleggen) Niets van guacamole, zure room, salsa,. We bestelden nog een burrito bij die wel heel klein was voor 15 euro We hadden er meer van verwacht.

Cozy interior and nice vibe. Friendly and prompt staff. Food not special, little choice in terms of tacos, small portion and no flavor explosion. Taco with pork belly had little flavor, the pork belly was fried too crispy. Didn't really match the taco either. Quesedillas also not very special, little taste.

Due to change of menu I was invited to try a sampling of the new menu and it was a delicious experience. The pork belly roast had such a crunch on the outside while the meat was soft en tender on the inside, a job well done! Add to that the creativity of the bar team when I asked for a Mexican cocktail pairing, and I was happy to have visited them for the first time 👍🏽

This is perhaps the warmest, most wonderful mexican-oriented restaurant I have visited in the city. With a homey atmosphere, genuine kind service, incredible food to share (the quesadillas being probably our highlight), it made my girlfriend’s birthday a great celebration. Highly recommended!

I had exactly the same experience! I tried to get the voucher via Instagram 10 days ago because it didn't work via email! Today they finally responded to my message and said that this menu was not €19 but €29 and that they couldn't replace the pork with anything else! Very unprofessional and unaccommodating. They lure customers with offers and then it ends differently! I wasn't able to try the dishes but this approach is not what I would expect from a good restaurant!

They serve fresh, flavorful, and well-crafted Mexican dishes. Great variety of teas to choose from. 📝 Despite being packed, the service was impressively quick and attentive. 💰 Affordable prices and traditional deals. A must-visit for authentic, satisfying Mexican cuisine!

Great little Mexican restaurant. We loved the nachos and tacos prepared by Markos and fab cocktails made by Pedro. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere but gets busy, so best to make a reservation.

The staff couldn’t care less about the visitors, the cocktails were terrible, and we couldn’t drink them because they were too spicy. Nobody offered us anything else or asked if we wanted to order food – they simply didn’t care at all. The staff was chatting among themselves and eating, completely ignoring the guests. 0 out of 5.

I had the Cabrón Tasting Menu, and it was a total win! For just 19 euros, we got to try three types of tacos, a quesadilla, and a chocolate-filled churro to top it off. The tacos ranged from the tender carnitas with pineapple, a crispy fish taco with a nice aji mayo kick, to a unique aubergine barbacoa. The quesadilla with beef stew was super flavorful, and I couldn’t get enough of the rich, cheesy filling paired with the consomé. To end the meal, the churro was perfectly crispy with a gooey chocolate center. Hands down, one of the best Mexican food spots I’ve found in Amsterdam, especially for the price!

Located in De Pijp, this restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere, though it’s on the smaller side—so I recommend making a reservation in advance. The food is enjoyable, though I find the prices to be a bit on the higher side.

I wandered in here during a soccer game because I was bored and I heard cheering. It was the best night of my vacation! Armando was very friendly and they let me twist balloon animals just for fun! I'm from Texas and i recommend their Mexican food!!!

Good is very good, but service could be a little bit better.. The waiter didn't know much about the menu, we ordered two mescal and got three(also paid for three). Ceviche was great, tacos could be more flavorful, but we're still good too..

Unfortunately, we did not have a very good experience: we let them know of our allergies in the reservation and also asked the waitress to confirm when receiving our order. Despite this, our night and our toilet were ruined. The staff was friendly, but gave a rather inexperienced impression. The cocktails were not good (not interesting and not tasty) and very expensive for what you get. On the plus side, the atmosphere is quite nice, and the tacos are tasty.
