Fantastic corn ribs, quesadillas and tacos. The meat in the tacos was tender and very flavorful. Exceptionally welcoming staff.

Food is exceptional! We were craving tacos and went to this place, AMAZING birria tacos, we devoured it in less than 10 minutes!! Definitiely visiting again! Although if you don’t like very strong cocktails I wouldn’t get mezcalita😅

What a fantastic experience on the Albert Cuypstraat. Everything we were served was prepared with great care and beautifully presented. The small bites were each surprisingly flavorful. We especially loved the fried bites on the spread; the texture was perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special night out in Amsterdam.

The food was tasty, but the portions were quite small and it was excessively expensive. Therefore, I won't be eating there again anytime soon.

I don't know which tasteless people give this less than 5 stars, but this was one of the best experiences in Amsterdam so far. I felt like I was in Mexico! Everything was freshly prepared and nothing comes from Macro. Everything from the fishmonger, market stall. Prepared with love. And you can taste it. The service there could learn a lot from them! Everything from starter to dessert was mmmmmmm❤️❤️❤️ Definitely try it! You absolutely won't regret it!

If you are looking for a Mexican brunch spot, this is your place! Chilaquiles, tortas, and burritos were really good. And still surprisingly not as packed as the many other brunch places… enjoy the space while you can:)

My husband and I came for dinner at the weekend. The food was delicious and good portion sizes. We had the Baja fish tacos, the chicken enmolada, the queso quesedilla, totopos and the croquettas. Everything was delicious and the service was warm and attentive. A great spot for dinner.

Wednesday. Great service from the guy from London and I loved the food. Please sort out your margs. Way too large. 15euros for poor quality tequila. Get better glassware and use proper tequila. Yeah it’s less in a serve but it will taste better and you ain’t going to have a hangover the next day

Terrible experience. Insane prices for very small not filled tacos, that do not have much taste. Bar tenders were drunk at the end. Took almost 20-30mins for a few beers to arrive, and also for all rounds after that. Also didnt even get some tap water. Cocktail was sprinkled with chili powder, which is a nice idea but your whole hand and arm are with powder. 2/5 stars because cocktail tasted nice.

There is a lot to love here. The hot salsa they make fresh is always delicious. The totopos (nacho chips) are crispy and firm, top-notch! The tacos are a real treat. The green margarita is great! The staff is so sweet and helpful too. Definitely recommended for a delicious treat.

Nice, quiet little place with good food! Unfortunately, we received a very high bill. The guy said, "Oh right, I noticed it was that high," but hadn't checked it. When I pointed out that "caviar" was listed on the receipt for 70 euros, which we hadn't eaten, he said very quickly, "That happens to me often, I'll take it off." It felt like a scam. If you pay attention to this when settling the bill, it's otherwise really nice :)

The food was good, and I had a nice meal. But prices are steep (20 euros for 3 tacos, 6-7 euros for a (soft) drink), and the food is not as tasty as you get in LUPE or Bacalar for example. Also I was a bit disappointed that the menu on the website was not up to date, since they listed some things I was excited about, but they had since changed the menu.

Music WAY too loud even on a random Saturday afternoon. Impossible to even stay inside without my ears hurting. The music can be heard from hundreds of meters away in the street. I don't know how the neighbors can live with this.

As a regular and avid fan of Mexican food, I have to say I was very surprised by this little place. I can honestly say that after trying many renowned Mexican restaurants in Amsterdam, this is where I've had the best tacos. We ordered the ceviche, which was delicious. The freshly made tortilla chips are unique. There are places that serve little more than Doritos, but here you can really taste the quality. The staff is fantastic. The location is unbeatable. It has definitely become our favorite Mexican restaurant (yes, after only one visit). It's true that the atmosphere is a bit noisy, but it's a place frequented by young people, who are generally louder, and there's little the restaurant can do to prevent it.

The food was delicious and the service was great but as an Amsterdam local I believe we have lost the plot. And it’s time to push back to these insane places that think they can upcharge so much. We got the set menu for 45€ per person and the food we got for that price was ridiculously small portions …. I was in disbelief every time a plate was getting to us honestly. At the end of the night what I ate was 2 teeny tiny croquettes, 3 spoonfuls of ceviche, 2 small tacos, 1 tostada and 2 churros… sorry but this is just insane for 45€… and the price didn’t even include any drinks so u have to pay even more than that I will not be coming back and I will not recommend this to anyone else, if anything I would discourage people from eating there Can we go back to normal prices for people to eat out in Amsterdam? The photos are what u get when u order the 45€ menu, one for each person

All in all, a fantastic experience. The homemade purple corn nachos were delicious, along with the fresh guacamole. The ceviche was probably the best I've ever had. It had everything, from crunchy things to buttery-soft fresh fish. One downside in winter is that if your lips are dry and cracked, you can feel the lemon juice burning, but it's absolutely worth it! The tacos were also amazing and well-filled! The lengua (tongue) is highly recommended, but the mushroom one was also fantastic. There were two of us and we shared everything so we could try a bit of everything. And besides, the mezcal is so much better than the regular tequila you knock back at the pub! The staff was also super friendly, helpful, and pleasant. It was my first time at Cabron after always wanting to go, and I'll definitely be back!

Best Mexican place in Amsterdam!!

It was my 68th birthday. After visiting the Stedelijk Museum and the mind-blowing and dazzlingly beautiful art of Erwin Olaf, we headed to Albert Cuypstraat for a delicious meal at this restaurant. "Everything you do in the first five minutes determines the experience you're about to have." They certainly understood that here. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table. The man was also witty, helpful, and all at the right moments. He had a great sense of timing. The tacos were fantastic, especially the one with crunchy pork belly. For dessert, I ordered the ceviche. The best decision of the (birthday) day. It was incredibly delicious. This restaurant is highly recommended on a snowy Sunday evening. A lovely atmosphere in the city. On the way back, on the escalator on the North-South metro line, we looked at a young woman's derriere. "Juicy," it said in silver buttons. My thoughts drifted back to Cabrón, to those amazing tacos. They were juicy.

The food here is soooooo good! Such a combo of zingy freshness and delicious umami meatiness! But the churros... I reckon the best I've had! And they're lovely, go here!

Poor and inauthentic margaritas for €15. The tacos were equally inauthentic. We ordered the same dish for two people and received a plate with three sauces, six mini tacos, and a bowl of meat. The limes served with it were simply stale and completely tasteless. Mexican cuisine has so much to offer, but this was a real disappointment and a total rip-off in terms of value for money. €72, a bad mood, and an empty stomach.

We had our team dinner at Cabron last night with 20 people, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. What truly stood out was the team. They were incredibly helpful, flexible, and attentive, handling a large group effortlessly and with a great attitude. You could really feel that they care about their guests and take pride in delivering genuine hospitality. A special thank you to Dani, Alex, and the rest of the team for hosting us so well. A fantastic place for group dinners and team events, highly recommended.

I wanted some real mexican food and drinks, and this turned out to be really close to when I was in Mexico for vacation. Great food, nice flavours and nice seinks as well. Service was also pretty fast and kind. Recommended!

A hidden gem! Gorgeous place, amazing tacos and super friendly staff. We've been trying a few places for tacos and this is definitely the best so far. Not sure why some people on here are saying it's expensive, it's in line with other Mexican restaurants in Amsterdam and inflation is a thing unfortunately.

A place where it's easy to spend hours in a very welcoming, cheerful, and flavorful atmosphere. Surrounded by soft Mexican music, you'll eat and drink a lot, as the products are of the highest quality. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! Drink the paloma.

The food here is excellent! Flavorful, rich, and unique. Not so much Mexican as south of the border mixture. I had three dishes and they were all delicious. Definitely try the mushroom tacos and duck enchiladas. Service was fast & friendly. Photos don’t do it justice, gotta try for yourself!

I wish my mouth was big enough to fit the whole quesabirria with consome in 1 go. Leaving the authenticity judgings to others, but the flavours and textures were great. Had a coriander/cillantro jalapeno mocktail specially made for me. The jalapeno is such a fantastic addition, and not even the littlest bit of spice for a no-spice-tolerance-shame-of-the-family asian like me.

The food is really tasty but not value for money.... €15 - 18 for a main and you will still be hungry. On the left €15! Not coming back

Food was good but the portions were very small and they charged us a double portion while we ordered single We ordered a make your own taco for 2 people and they gave us for 4, which we only found out after paying because we thought it was a portion for 2. (It’s all in one plate, the amount just increased) The amount of taco’s they give for a portion for 4 is also way too little. When asking for more taco’s they gave us 3 small ones for 3 euro, which also wasn’t sufficient. The amount of guacamole for the totopos were way too little, as well as the size of the croquettes for the price they ask We ordered a quesabirria for almost 20 euro, but it was just a single peace which isn’t even enough to be full Cocktails are also way too expensive for the ambience they created. Prices are as if you are in a premium cocktail bar, but it’s a taco restaurant starting from 14/15 euro. Food overall was good, ambience was nice, but the prices and portions are totally out of contrast and would definitely not go back. They have to increase their portions or decrease their prices We left hungry

Had an excellent meal on our last night in De Pijp. The guy serving was so friendly and helpful, gave us tasters of beer/mezcal when we asked about them. The food was superb, some of the best Mexican food I've had. And great to meet Django, the resident dog 😀

Been going here since 2022 and loved it. However, recently the management, prices increased and quality of food/service has gone down dramatically. Very sad that this go to place has turned into something unenjoyable and overpriced… it’s real disappointment 🫠 now I have to go all the way to the West to get good tacos.

Really liked this place. Very authentic and the food was very tasty and not your stereotypical tacos and nachos type of menu you know... However, I must say that it is a bit expensive for the portions you get so be ready to spena some money if you wanna be full by the end of the meal. The staff were super nice and friendly and always attentive to our needs!

Heel erg goede kwaliteit eten! We hebben de make your own taco’s gegeten. Leuk om zelf aan tafel te maken en heerlijke smaak. We hadden een klein voorgerecht en dit was een goede keuze, want we zaten niet mega vol na het hoofdgerecht.

Really nice atmosphere and super nice service. Compared to many places in the Netherlands this was a really good Mexican spot. The only thing is that It got really busy and there was only one server so the service was delayed. I will definitely go back and highly recommend.

Perfect place for an evening of Mexican food in Amsterdam. Incredibly hospitable service and they serve delicious food. There is a cozy atmosphere with good music. And in addition to delicious Mescal, they also serve beautiful wines!

The bill was 100 but they charged 150. Only because we checked the bill we saw they charged us 50% (!) more. Absolutely ridiculous. We didn't even get an apology or drink on the house. Wont be eating here again, your staff has no manners and don't even speak dutch. Also: the taco platter for 2 had visible chunks of barely cooked garlic in it. We didn't eat it as it was way over the top.
