Cabrón in Oude Pijp

I booked with a coupon that they advertized (19€ for a 5 dishes menu). When I walked in and asked about it, they said that they don't provide this service anymore. Instead, they offered the standard 40€ menu. Quite upsetting, we walked away. The coupon also didn't have any expiration day, so it felt quite "sketchy" to not accept it, after just 1 week of booking it. Edit: The owner made up for it. Happy about the quality of food and drinks. Definitely a quality place!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Our waiter was really fun and friendly, and the food was amaaaazing! The decor is really nice as well and it actually smelled like Mexico in there with the open kitchen haha. Will definitely be back!

Good food for a reasonable price. I had the 5 course dinner. Friendly servants. The food is innovative. Many different flavors and combinations. Sometimes the food was just a little too 'special' for me... everyone has their own taste. The music was nice and the interior beautiful. In terms of drinks, there were also plenty of tasty treats

Best taco place in Amsterdam, Cabron is a funny name. We love taco’s in Mexicocity, the real thing, no Tex-mex. Cabron brings these things to Holland, amazing shrimp and clams cocktail, perfect spicy. Great octopus and the best ever crispy pork. We could eat this every day. The friendly crew knew exactly when we get thirsty and manage great cocktails and beers. Iff there were stars for taco’s Cabron deserves a star. We would recommend to make a reservation. Iff you are Mexican and want to feel at home in Holland go to Cabron.

Kleine porties voor een toch wel behoorlijke prijs. 30 euro voor 6 kleine wraps met een potje vlees en 3 kleine potjes saus en koolsla (waar je eigenlijk maar 2 wraps mee kan beleggen) Niets van guacamole, zure room, salsa,. We bestelden nog een burrito bij die wel heel klein was voor 15 euro We hadden er meer van verwacht.

The food is extremely expensive considering the portions you get. Even though it was tasty, I wish that I could justify paying 15e for 3 small tacos.

Cozy interior and nice vibe. Friendly and prompt staff. Food not special, little choice in terms of tacos, small portion and no flavor explosion. Taco with pork belly had little flavor, the pork belly was fried too crispy. Didn't really match the taco either. Quesedillas also not very special, little taste.

Due to change of menu I was invited to try a sampling of the new menu and it was a delicious experience. The pork belly roast had such a crunch on the outside while the meat was soft en tender on the inside, a job well done! Add to that the creativity of the bar team when I asked for a Mexican cocktail pairing, and I was happy to have visited them for the first time 👍🏽

This is perhaps the warmest, most wonderful mexican-oriented restaurant I have visited in the city. With a homey atmosphere, genuine kind service, incredible food to share (the quesadillas being probably our highlight), it made my girlfriend’s birthday a great celebration. Highly recommended!

I had exactly the same experience! I tried to get the voucher via Instagram 10 days ago because it didn't work via email! Today they finally responded to my message and said that this menu was not €19 but €29 and that they couldn't replace the pork with anything else! Very unprofessional and unaccommodating. They lure customers with offers and then it ends differently! I wasn't able to try the dishes but this approach is not what I would expect from a good restaurant!

The best thing is the quality of the meat and the waiters are nice...however, we left the place still hungry and just the two of us paid a total of €97... Too expensive for what they offer.

Great little Mexican restaurant. We loved the nachos and tacos prepared by Markos and fab cocktails made by Pedro. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere but gets busy, so best to make a reservation.

The staff couldn’t care less about the visitors, the cocktails were terrible, and we couldn’t drink them because they were too spicy. Nobody offered us anything else or asked if we wanted to order food – they simply didn’t care at all. The staff was chatting among themselves and eating, completely ignoring the guests. 0 out of 5.

I had the Cabrón Tasting Menu, and it was a total win! For just 19 euros, we got to try three types of tacos, a quesadilla, and a chocolate-filled churro to top it off. The tacos ranged from the tender carnitas with pineapple, a crispy fish taco with a nice aji mayo kick, to a unique aubergine barbacoa. The quesadilla with beef stew was super flavorful, and I couldn’t get enough of the rich, cheesy filling paired with the consomé. To end the meal, the churro was perfectly crispy with a gooey chocolate center. Hands down, one of the best Mexican food spots I’ve found in Amsterdam, especially for the price!

We are our dinner with a lot of pleasure. The taco’s were amazing, especially the birria taco’s! We also really enjoyed out cocktails, the paloma and mescal.

Located in De Pijp, this restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere, though it’s on the smaller side—so I recommend making a reservation in advance. While the music can be a bit loud, the staff kept us informed about a slight delay in service, which helped manage expectations. The food is enjoyable, though I find the prices to be a bit on the higher side.

I wandered in here during a soccer game because I was bored and I heard cheering. It was the best night of my vacation! Armando was very friendly and they let me twist balloon animals just for fun! I'm from Texas and i recommend their Mexican food!!!

Good is very good, but service could be a little bit better.. The waiter didn't know much about the menu, we ordered two mescal and got three(also paid for three). Ceviche was great, tacos could be more flavorful, but we're still good too..

Unfortunately, we did not have a very good experience: we let them know of our allergies in the reservation and also asked the waitress to confirm when receiving our order. Despite this, our night and our toilet were ruined. The staff was friendly, but gave a rather inexperienced impression. The cocktails were not good (not interesting and not tasty) and very expensive for what you get. On the plus side, the atmosphere is quite nice, and the tacos are tasty.

We got three 5-course menus and the were amazing! Cocktails were pretty yummy too, we even got a tequila shot in the house!

Ik ga elke maand met een vriendin uiteten bij een taco restaurant . We zijn op zoek naar de beste taco van amsterdam. Op dit moment staat carbon op de eerste plek. Super gezellige setting,lieve en leuke service (de jongen zij dat dit z'n 2e dag was, niks van gemerkt). We hadden ook een magerita besteld. Super lekker goede zoutrand en niet te waterig. Ik kom zeker terug. Heb carbon meteen aangeraden aan mijn vrienden.

Very tasty authentic Mexican food! I recommend the vegetarian quisedilla and birria tacos. Lots of flavour! It's a shame that the music was so loud and it made it difficult to talk.

We went here for first time with the tasting menu voucher and we absolutely loved it! Cabron is one of the best Latin American restaurants I’ve had in Amsterdam. Their birria was absolutely delicious and the tacos selected as well. Also loved the cozy vibe and the enthusiastic staff. We will be back for sure

I had a taste menu and I was gladly surprised with the selection. All 4 main-dish options were delicious. The filled-in churros for dessert toppe it of. I ordered a margarita to go with it. I was a disappointed at first try, being a Mexican restaurant, too bland, but when I mentioned it to the girl caj she quickly topped it of. I think i will come back.

Food is so good, fresh and full of flavour, I’d definitely recommend the churros for desert, they are so nice. The service is also great, the waiter and what I presume to be the owner were very attentive, they put a table outside for us. Me and my gf love coming here especially for the margaritas

We had the 19€ tasting menu and it was really flavorful! Definitely a good offer considering the regular menu is on the pricy side. They also accommodated vegans and vegetarians. It's a bit noisy indoor but we got a sunny table outside. Great service too :)

I recently came across a promotional ad on Instagram for a discounted meal at this restaurant. The offer looked appealing, so I subscribed to receive the coupon. However, after doing some research and seeing the restaurant’s Google ratings, I realized it didn’t align with the kind of places I usually enjoy dining at. I decided to unsubscribe from their mailing list, expecting that to be the end of it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Despite unsubscribing, I continued to receive relentless emails reminding me about the coupon’s expiration. I even took the extra step of writing to them directly to explain the situation, hoping they would respect my request to stop sending emails. But to this day, I am still being spammed with their emails, which has been incredibly frustrating. I would caution others about engaging with their promotions. Not only did I lose interest in visiting the restaurant, but their disregard for my preferences and privacy has also been a major turn-off. A simple unsubscribe should have sufficed, but it seems that this establishment either doesn’t care or is unable to manage their email list properly. I won't be recommending this place to anyone.

What fantastic Mexican food! We came here with a tasting menu and therefore received three tacos, a quesedila and churros. The show stoppers were really in the second round: the taco baja fish but especially the quesadilla birriaquesa con consomé. That consomé is really wowwww 😍

The food tasted really good, but the portions are way too small. A quesadilla is really half a quesadilla so either plan to order 2-3x or be hungry.

My family and I are big fan of Mexican food.after talking to few locals they recommended us to try Cabron. It was slightly off our route, but we decided to go there. As we arrived around 930 pm on Sunday evening and it closes at 11. The owner apologized that they are closed as today was an exceptionally busy day and they have run out of all ingredients. When I told him that we are here only for his food, he again sincerely apologized and just before we were leaving he said he will try to get something made for us. Whatever he made it not only filled us but also completely satisfied us. Exceptional service, exceptional food and exceptional customer care. Highly recommend it.

Tacos were very tasty and service was great as well. I only noticed after I had already left that I was charged incorrectly on the bill for drinks we never ordered, so paid an extra €8 🫤

We had a great little tasting menu here. 4 different tacos plus the chocolate filled churros. Food was good! Friendly and helpful staff too. Just had a remark about the acoustics: even though it wasn't fully packed, it was quite loud inside and hard to understand my friend.

I had the tasting menu from Instagram and had a really delicious meal, I also ordered the pollo quesadilla and it was fantastic. Normally I am always skeptical about “English” staff but this girl did a very nice job. Nice to try the mezcal despite the price, highly recommended!

The food is INCREDIBLE. However, we only thought it was worth the price when we had the 20e 5 dish tasting menu. Without that, 1 single quesadilla is like 11e (you would need honestly between 2-4 to feel full). Tasting menu came with 3 different little tacos, 1 quesadilla, and a serving of churros - we ended up ordering an addition quesadillawhich we split in order to taste huitlacocje. The best one was definitely the quesadilla with consomé and we've been thinking about it ever since. Extremely delicious and flavorful, just the portions on the smaller side.

I saw a tasting menu offer on social media. 4 different tacos and churros for dessert at 18€. Amazing deal. 4 tacos were fish, aubergine, beef and pork. I love the beef and fish tacos the most. My wife loved it more than other Tacos we tried before. I ordered the Elote. But for a small corn split in 3 the price was too high. But taste was great. We came at 6 and it was very quiet and empty. But it soon filled up and was full. Ambiance and vibes was really nice. The crowd was in 20s/30s. Tbh I am surprised that the rating is quite low at 4.3. Should be higher.

Been there for the tasting menu and I was NOT dissapointed at all. The food was really good (finally authentic mexian food instead of texmex). The service was good; for sure a plus they had a Mexican worker there). The restaurant gave me a Mexican Cantina vibe which I liked. Menu is not the most diverse, but still enough to choose from. My bf who was sceptical at first was very totally satisfied with everything. Eventually we ordered something more from the menu. I would totally go there again! PS: I mostly don't like aubergine, but the aubergine taco's were amazing!

We ate delicious tacos, 4 different ones, the beef of which was really delicious. The sauces are also very tasty and not greasy at all. The stuffed churos were also a nice ending. The paloma cocktail is very good. Very nice lady behind the bar who guides the evening well.

Very small portions the totopos with guacamole...being honest you have enough guacamole only for 3 totopos. The potato croquettes with carnitas were good. The quesadilla and tacos were delicious. They do not have much variety of food, but it is nice. They have more drinks than food.
