The food is delicious, special flavor combinations and refined. The only disadvantage is the 2-hour time slot, which is really too short if you are with a group of friends. The staff is nice, but after just over an hour we were informed of the time slot and what was/was not still possible to order. The bill was brought without asking and we were really on the fence, not relaxed and that is not nice because you end up spending a lot of money. We ended up having dessert 200 meters further at Chateau Amsterdam. Time slot of 2.5 hours would have been better.

Delicious ! We tried many dishes including the octopus toast, the tongue taco, the quesadilla with truffle and I don't remember what else but the dessert was also spectacular! We chose the tres leches and we were surprised by the ice cream mixture that was super nice and spicy! The cocktails were also delicious, we ordered the Papi which was mezcal with chili and mezcalitas! I 100% recommend going

It is my opinion that if you’re going to charge top dollar(€15+ for one TINY taco) the food and service needs to match the price you are charging. That is not the case here. •Portions are extremely small and bland •Only one appetizer offered- chips and salsa; the chips were so hard they were not even edible •Weird vibes all around and zero accommodation from servers.

Disappointed. I’m down to overpay for Mexican, but it needs to be amazing in that case. Tacos were barely had anything in them. Took 90 minutes to get all our food. Tostadas were tasty and staff was nice. Heading home, ordering tacos on Ubereats as we speak (señor mostachio’s)

Super cozy vibes and especially a nice team!!We reserved front bar and it was very nice to engage with the kitchen crew. The food is amazing - I especially enjoyed the veal taco 🌮 Service was on point and atmosphere as well. I would recommend to have drinks at Tula before or after, their attention on their different quality of mezcal is unique. We definitely need more of these places in Amsterdam where the emphasis is on the details, authenticity and quality. So far one of my favorite places to bring my friends to :-)

If you are lover for nice Mexican authentic meal, this is not a place to go, tacos are coming cold, and extremely small. service is super kind but somehow over demanding, every 5 min coming to you starting to ask -do you wanna order something else? that was really wired experience, and doesn’t make you to enjoy your evening. Margaritas was amazing, but we never will return

Beef brisket taco was far too wet, left a puddle on my plate and much to be desired. Wouldn’t return or recommend, average marg without the spice that was requested

Poor service quality - timing was the biggest issue with regards to both time between order and receipt of food but also complete misalignment between arrival of foods for certain people vs others at our table. Extremely bad. The chef feels too proud to take allergies into account. Then make the mistake and serve it. Half of the ticket was already sold out at 9:15 PM. Then we were promised dessert and that too was delivered through our noses. What do you think? Discount? Drink ? No… too proud. Not recommended at all.

Safe to say, one of the best experiences I have had in Amsterdam for dinner. Every taco is so distinctly different and the flavours are complex and precise. Every ingredient makes sense. The drinks are amazing as well. It is pricey. But to be honest, if you are willing to spend a bit more, its completely worth it. The price you see if for 5 people. Its completely worth it. Amazing dinner.

Even though the food and atmosphere are good, unfortunately it is the typical restaurant that will pressure you to overorder by coming 100 times in your table within an hour asking you “what else you like to order”

Best place I’ve been to in my life. We are the whole menu and it was so worth it. The tacos had juicy meat. The only downside was the price. It’s a pricey place.

This place made me feel like I was back in Mexico. Really enjoyed everything from the menu (pescatarian)… authentic flavors and spices. My only remark is the main door - gets shut super hard - unpleasant noise all the time. And maybe think about more mocktails - my friend couldn’t drink that night and he wasn’t happy with the virgin michelada. On the other side - I liked the mezcal selection;)!

We went on the recommendation of the people who hosted us in Amsterdam and, although we did not reserve and there was no place, we decided to sit at the tables outside despite the cold. The margarita and ceviche tostadas were worth it. Without a doubt, if we returned to the city, we would return but make a reservation, because the atmosphere inside was incredible!

The place is made really nicely and we had a nice meal. However, it was really busy and not in a 'lively' way, it was just loud, with music set even louder. Although they were trying to serve everyone asap, the ratio of staff to customers just was to much to handle unfortunately. We were seated close to the entrance, the seats are very comfy but the door slammed so loudly everytime! All in all, enjoyed the food but not worth a second visit.

We really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, the pricing felt a bit steep. You’ll need to order around 3-4 tacos per person, and at €14 per taco, it adds up quickly. The drinks, while tasty, are quite small for the price, which is unfortunate because the cocktails are excellent. Overall, it’s a great spot, but the cost might be something to consider.

Very nice restaurant, service was very nice and helpful! Big plus for this! I read in many reviews that they are small portions for high prices. I don't agree with this because it is fine dining. So very refined dishes that are very well balanced in terms of taste. That's why I liked coriander on my dish for the first time. The disadvantage is the Max 2 hours of sitting time. Would have preferred to take a little more time to enjoy an extensive meal. As a result, I was still not completely full afterwards. All in all, a great experience if you like innovative, refined dishes.

Very tasty food, nice atmosphere, but too little and too expensive

The flavors of the taco’s are well-balanced. The cocktails complement the food nicely, well-mixed and enjoyable. The service is friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need.

Update: it's still divine, everything is very tasty. The michelada is delicious. Some changes to the menu, to try new things, but without giving up their classics. It's hard to choose! Octopus or mushroom toasts, quesadillas from another planet, tongue or cassava tacos... The fritter for dessert, with ice cream and cajeta, will delight sweet palates. --- Oh, how good everything was! The chef's menu is great, so you don't have to choose and try everything. Great the cochinita and the quesadilla, difficult to choose the best among the rest. Delicious cocktails, Paloma and Tequila with tomato. Rich beer. I'm dying for padrón peppers. May it last long!

Tasty authentic Mexican food. The owner is Mexican herself and she has uniquely brought the food and the conviviality of eating together to the Netherlands in a well-thought-out way. You can drink excellent cocktails here! Definitely recommended. Not suitable / I would not recommend it for children. The (dinner) menu is concise and printed on 1 A4 sheet. The dishes come in small portions and the idea is that you order several. I really like this idea because you can taste so many different things. All food is served on genuine imported Mexican terracotta tableware. And you are supposed to eat all food with your hands. You don't get cutlery. What I personally thought was the highlight of the evening were the variety of mescals. Very tasty, I had the opportunity to taste several. 5 out of 5 stars.

Been there a couple of times since 5 years. Whilst not bad i do find the quality to be going down in general while costs have increased. I also don't like the fact you can't really table and need to make space most of the time.

I thought I would order a nice dish for 14.50. It was nothing more than a small appetizer. If I wanted to eat enough I would have had to order at least 4 dishes. And it wasn't very tasty.

This is totally not a typical taco restaurant. This is tacos at the next level. It is a fine dining experience full of surprises. They got delicious cocktails and typical mexican drinks. The food is not only very beautifully shown, it is also very delicious. For me it was one of the best experiences with flavour ever. It was just so delicious, I forgot to take pictures. It is quite pricy, but it is totally worth it as this is a special experience. I’d go more often if I had the budget, but this is certainly on my list for special occasions.

Tacos were delicious. The food tasted really good. Very small portions for too much money. Unfortunately, arrogant service. They don't have a Dutch menu, so my parents didn't know what to order. Oh yeah, they don't have regular coffee either, only with cinnamon 😂😅

Over the past 2 years I visited Coba 4 times and in the beginning it was such a mindblowing experience. I really thought I had found the best Taqueria outside of US/Mexico, and I was willing to pay the price for the experience. Sadly, the quality and taste of the food hasn’t been that good anymore for the past 2 visits. For the high price point I expect perfect flavors, like it used to be. Sadly none of the options were that convincing anymore, the softshell crab wasnt as crispy, and the last time wasnt even on the menu anymore. Idk. Their signature beef brisket wasnt juicy and had no seasoning. At this point I wont be coming back because the last 2 times we went there were underwhelming and felt overpriced.

Delicious dishes but over the top expensive at a c-location in the middle of nowhere, but they charge more than the prices in the heart of the Jordaan. Super sweet staff, but only natural wines for €42 per bottle. I like that, but the rest of the group wanted a Sjardoneetje or Sauvignonne for €27.50 and they don't have that. A bit high-brow for the low-rent industrial area where they are located. Fantastic deal: top tequila with homemade next level sangrita for €7.50. I walked into the kitchen and said where do you buy this, this is the best sangrita ever and the bartender said we make it ourselves and gave me the recipe. So overall great but a bit expensive for a C location.

The food is nice. But I think it is noteworthy to mention that the average costs per person for food only (excl. drinks) is expected to be around 50-55 euro. (in all fairness, it is written somewhere on their homepage) we were not willing to spend this much on a casual lunch. consequently, we left half-hungry. if you do not mind to spend this much, it is certainly worth trying. we might come back for cocktails & snack (but surely, eat elsewhere beforehand).

Amazing Mexican place with good vibes

Seriously delicious and inspiring food. Texturally on point with great seasoning. Portions are surprisingly small though, so you must order at least 2 dishes per person. Very friendly service and a totally romantic atmosphere for a cocktail or bites.

I was looking forward to try this place for a while. Some dishes were incredibly delicious: (tostada de ceviche) was a highlight, however I expected more from tacos al pastor (a staple of Mexican cuisine) which were just fine. Presentation is great and vibe is good, however portions are small, and it is very pricey. Cocktails were nice, but tiny too. It would not be my go to Mexican restaurant recommendation in Amsterdam but worth a try.

Super expensive food, okayish service

75 euros per person for veal tongue and pork belly and some other weird meats like that. I was extremely disgusted and disappointed by this place. I didn't expect the non vegetarian option to have these kind of meats. It's fine for people that like them, but I would have liked to be a bit more transparent about it. We didn't get even one option with "real" meat. PS. I have been there as part of a company event.

Food and drinks were really delicious, portions are indeed small but the quality is very good. I highly recommend the Cerviche tostada and the El Jefe cocktail. The service was really fast and good.

Without a doubt some of the best food I’ve had here in Amsterdam. Well worth seeking out. Treat yourself and take the metro. Positioned far from the madding crowd, the dishes are well proportioned and full of flavour; do not miss the tostada de pulpo, it’s heaven on a blue corn tortilla. Even the little nacho botana is surprisingly authentic. Impressive stock of mezcal and the staff are a delight. Also, they serve an espresso ‘martini’ made with tequila… what’s not to love?

We think it's fun to eat here! We like to travel up and down from the Brabant country. Enjoy eating with your hands. Also try the coffee, highly recommended.

Everything was very delicious, the sauces not so spicy but a delicious flavor. The staff's attention is very good!! The chef approached our table to ask about the dishes, which was very helpful to me. Super recommended 👍🏼 we liked it 🙌🏼

The moment I walked in I was convinced that the food was gonna be amazing, because of the great interior. Unfortunately this wasn’t true at all. The first issue we faced was the table, the seating isnt very comfortable especially if you’re tall or wearing heals etc. My legs could not fit under the table, same for my brother and father. Also the menu is not very clear for people who don’t speak Spanish or aren’t familiar with Mexican food since everything is named in its traditional names etc. Back to the food which is the most important. The pork tacos, really lack in flavor. They look tasty! But even the pineapple doesn’t taste juicy and sweet like a regular pineapple. Which was so weird to us. The meat doesn’t have any flavor at all. I would definitely SKIP this option! The beef brisket taco was way better but not one I would come back for. The flavor of the meat was there but still not worth the price. I’ve had better. We also had a taco with fried fish and this one was veryyyy bitter because of the lemon peel on top. When we took it off there was no flavor left at all.. disappointing. Overall the food lacks everything you expect, spices, tangy, sour and nice traditional Mexican flavors. I understand making a place as authentic as possible and wanting to create a certain atmosphere. But its also important to think about comfort and serving a customer. I just feel sorry for this restaurant because the staff is very nice and polite. But the food and pricing is just not it. I would not recommend going here.

Was a bit surprised by the harsh reviews. Tacos were good - we had the neck and veal tongue. The drinks were also quite good. Service and staff were EXCELLENT. The atmosphere was laid back and quite cozy. Great date night place.

Prices are really exaggerated for what you get. 1 mini taco for 15 - 19 euros. Simply scandalous! You leave the tent hungry. It's just not possible. There is only 1 dessert on the menu, which you just have to love. Atmosphere was fine. Although you will be asked to leave the tent after 1.5 hours. So the cozy atmosphere will soon be over.... Staff is friendly, but often don't see you. I often had to get up to ask for attention. I definitely won't go there again and definitely don't recommend it!!!!

We had a delicious meal here, but afterwards we cycled to Pont Neuf for a bowl of fries and a croquette because we hadn't eaten enough, and that was the problem. The portions are not in proportion to the hefty price. Although Mexican food tastes delicious, it is not enough to satisfy hunger. Moreover, the portions were not always served at the same time. One person had already finished eating while others were waiting and vice versa. I don't know if this is common in Mexico, but when it comes to the quantity of the food it scores poorly, but I gave it four stars because the food was delicious. The dessert was nothing worth mentioning so I don't pay attention to it. Coffee is recommended, it was very tasty. Service was very friendly. Tip. Take reading glasses with you because the menu was unreadable for some of your table companions due to the small letters. Only by taking a photo of it and enlarging it did it become readable.

Had a great meal here. Friendly staff, great vibe and delicious food. I've never been in Mexico so I can't say anything about how authentic it is but it had flavour and was balanced and a very welcome change to the sleek bland Dutch grand cafes you'd normally end up. Also vegan options and everything gluten free. Would recommend and am planning on coming back

Very small portions for a lot of money. Also waiting a long time for your food. The service was disappointing. With a reservation at 6:30 PM, we were thrown out of the tent at 8:00 PM due to a subsequent booking (?) €260 (4 people) lighter, we had to leave without dessert. Very unfortunate because otherwise a nice atmosphere and tasty mezcals

Small dishes that you can share, but many choices say three pieces and that is a bit difficult to share. They can make four of them and then it will be more expensive. We chose three dishes, two of which were really tasty. The third dish was disappointing and very bitter. However, the portions are very small. And that's where the shoe pinches. Price-quality ratio is completely lost. I paid 24.50 for 1 course with four small snacks. And that times three. The restaurant is accessible with a kind of Mexican tapas concept. Some tables have small wooden stools. Pleasant. But paying almost a hundred euros for what you get is really far too high an amount. Once we got home we were hungry again. It was tasty but unfortunately for the money I won't be back.

Outstanding knowledge of agave spirits. We had 2 flights. We spoke about sotols, pechugas, racillas and of course mezcals. Pablo and Derrick were fab.

It was our first time in Coba and we loved the vibe, the food and specially our waiter Kelt. He gave us the best service, entertained our night and made us feel like home. 100% recommended!

Our taste buds were fascinated by this place, the combination of flavors so well done. Portions are rather small so not the go to place if you are considerably hungry, but definitely a pleasant culinary experience. You should allow at least an hour for your meal, as the food comes rather slowly. One dish every twenty minutes or so. Cocktails not great not terrible, the food is definitely the star of this place. Very unique and authentic atmosphere as well.

We were AMAZED with our experience at Coba. We were able to sit right in front of the kitchen and they worked like a well oiled machine - from the drinks to the food preparation to the delivery of the food. Friendly, competent and attentive staff all around. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Amsterdam area.

The food was good, but that's about all. We were here on Friday at 6:00 PM. They had no sparkling water, a certain cocktail could not be served and a dish we chose was also not available. The staff is not unfriendly, but there is something laconic about them. In any case, almost no one speaks Dutch. When serving, a waiter dropped a cup of coffee on our table, the coffee ended up on my pants. Very little attention was paid to this. A cloth was passed over the table and a new cup of coffee was obtained and that was it, no further compensation whatsoever. Even the coffee was included in the bill. I then asked if we could get the coffee on the house as compensation and that was fine. Too bad they didn't do this on their own. A bit arrogant and I thought the bill was way too high for what we got. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here! They fit us in last minute and made us feel so special. The service was friendly and very helpful. Food came out quickly. The ambience and music were some of my favorite parts. I can’t recommend the vegan mushroom tacos enough. They were so flavorful and had great textures. We also liked the fish taco. Amazing, friendly and fast Service :) atmosphere is perfect for any occasion with great music. Food is amazing and you can tell the food is worth the price as you CANNOT find any flavours like this anywhere else in Amsterdam.

Excellent execution of Mexican flavors. Nice atmosphere that brings into a holiday mood as if you were in a little town in mexico. Highly recommended to book in advance as the place gets quite crowded. Suitable for parties from two to maximum eight people. Don’t forget to have some mezcal. Table of 6. They charge €13,50 for a Pre-mixed cocktail (margarita), and it's like half the size. So much onion in every taco, oysters were dry and small, man the food and drinks were really not good. We were so confused And the worst part they are really expensive. Constant confusion with the orders. Sorry, but do not recommend it.

The best taqueria in all of Amsterdam. cocktails with an impressive explosion of flavors, complex and elaborate tacos that cannot be found anywhere else and the friendliest and fastest service in the entire city. Kelt took care of us and made sure we had the best evening possible. 10/10 because the music was also great.

You'll leave and realise you spent 76€ per person, you're still hungry, and the dessert tasted like burnt brick water... Which is a shame because it really used to be amazing a couple of years ago, what I remember is great huge tasty cocktails and great vibes. Now what you get is an over hyped small-plates joint that leans so much on the second hand furniture trope that you almost don't notice that they don't really clean the bathroom often enough.

Between 13-19 euros for sometimes 1 mini taco is really outrageous 😂. You'll leave here with a rumbling stomach if you don't order 75-100 euros worth of food per person(!). For that reason I wouldn't return here anytime soon.

An absolute waste of your evening. Mediocre food, although nicely presented. It lacks salt, sweet, sour and overall taste. Service severely below standard compared to the price. Nice bar staff, it may be said, with nice explanations about mezcal and cocktails, but here too the price is completely disproportionate. Atmosphere is nice, but not great. Here too you see the lack of attention to customers and quality. All in all: definitely not recommended, unfortunately...
