Food was very nice, the spicyness was perfect for me. The quesadilla was super! We ate at the bar and the connection the stuff made was very nice and friendly. The music good. We both had a cocktail that not really met our expectations. But the Mexican beer did the job. Staff very fast and hardworking so keep up the good work

A very welcoming atmosphere, great service and authentic delicious food. We had the tostada with urchin mayonnaise and ceviche which blew us both away. The tostada with pulpo was Smokey, harty and warm with tender octopus and a deep herbal blend of spices. Portions were large and very filling also due to the quality of the produce used. We unfortunately only had space left for the taco suerdo ( beef brisket) which was amazing. Only regret was that we couldn’t try more tacos because we were completely full. The cocktails were of another level! Highly recommend the Guerra ! Thank you for a great night, we are going back next week!

Good atmosphere and ok food, but way way way overpriced given the portions and location (an ugly road in northern amsterdam with literally nothing around but ugly buildings). It's above average tapas you're eating, but still tapas they are. Not coming back, sorry.

Very good tacos at a high price point, 16 euros for 2 tacos. If I had to rate this place on only their food I would give them 5 stars but given the price that would come down to 4. The service was actually good, they brought the food quickly, were attentive and even brought some sparklers as it was my girlfriend's birthday. But what brought it down completely was the way the staff behaved when paying the bill. The waitress brought the machine to pay with card, she set it in front of me with tipping suggestions of 10-20% and starred at me with a fake smile the whole time as if this was going to pressure me to tipp her more. This aggressive practice reminded me of the states and completely ruined my otherwise very nice meal. I would have tipped her if she had not tried to pressure me to. Will not be coming back here any time soon but I can admit they have good tacos.

A cozy place with a nice decor; the food was generally OK, but not great, and the quesadilla was unfortunately really bad. Several things also went wrong when taking our order; for example, they didn't properly communicate that a tostado needed to be without peanuts due to a nut allergy, and we received too many portions (some of which we still had to pay for). All in all, I don't think we'll be back, and I agree with other reviews that it's overpriced for what you get.

Look. Our experience wasn't great. It started with the seating, which was uncomfortable: very low and small wall couches, and mini chairs without back support. We felt that the food was very expensive compared to its size and quality. The tacos were nice, but you pay almost €15 for 2 small tacos. Even though they were delicious, they weren't the €15 kind of delicious. The worst part was the mole rosa desert. Coba tries to go for experimental and that is commendable, but this was absolutely not the way to do it. The waitress who took our orders was very nice though, compliments to her.

If you've ever had real Mexican food, don't go to this place. It's expensive and there's very little in the way. They call it "fine dining," but after spending a fortune, we unfortunately had to look for another restaurant in the area to satisfy our hunger. Another thing to note is that it took them 45 minutes to make us a quesadilla and four tacos. That said, the place is very nice and cozy. Despite everything, we won't be back.

Unfortunately, the overall package doesn't add up: the portions and cocktails are very small, and the food and drink selection seems very limited (only a few cocktails, one type of beer, and about a dozen dishes). Of course, you eat tacos without cutlery, but this makes the service very basic, which makes the high price even more incomprehensible. Overall, a nice atmosphere, but for me, the value for money isn't right. I therefore wouldn't recommend the restaurant. We spent just under €100 for two people, and we were absolutely not full. But we weren't willing to spend another €30-40 for more food either.

The food is far away from authentic tacos, small portions and way overpriced. There’s a huge gap between the overpriced meals and the interior of the restaurant. The furniture looks old and secondhand, and the sits were not comfortable. It’s like walking into the cheapest budget restaurant in South America but being charged like you’re eating premium food. Beer selection? Just one Mexican beer, and of course, it’s overpriced too. Even the girl who helped us said, “Portions are small, so you might want to order more.” No, gracias señorita!

This was our first time in Noord, and a local gave us some great dining tips. Coba was one of them, and what a fantastic recommendation! We made a reservation, as it's very popular! The decor perfectly suits this neighborhood and Mexico. It's easy to chat, the atmosphere is great, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic evening. The menu is very well-organized, with high-quality and flavorful tacos for two or a party of one hard taco. You eat these in rounds, depending on your appetite. And sharing is highly recommended! The flavors are surprising and pure! Combined with the extensive selection of the much more complex Tequila counterpart (I've forgotten the name), which the bartender thoroughly smelled and explained, the delicious Mexican mix of cold tomato juice with salsa mix, lime, olives, a herb rim on the glass, and Mexican beer in a bottle, the experience was complete!

just perfect. we sat at the bar facing the kitchen and the nice small talk was a great plus. I personally love interacting with the staff, so this was such a lovely experience (special thanks to the guy with the coolest frog tattoo!). every server was super kind and attentive. the food was amazing, genuinely one of the best taco's and tostadas I have ever had. the cocktails are also a must try. every item on the menu had a hint of classic flavours with a super creative twist. will definitely come back!

Nice atmosphere and staff. Overpriced but we went into our meal prepared for this. The issue was the insanely small portion sizes, especially for their vegetarian offerings compared to the meat dishes we saw on other tables. Mexican has always been my favourite cuisine for how easy it is to make delicious, creative and nutritious vegetarian options. All of cobas offerings used the same mushroom based ingredients with small portions and no protein leaving us bored, unimpressed and very hungry after spending a small fortune.

You definitely should come here! A unique experience!

On our last visit to Amsterdam, we went to Coba in the north, on the recommendation of local friends who knew about my love of tacos and margaritas. The weather was beautiful, and we sat outside (make a reservation online). The tequila and mezcal selection was catchy, the tacos were well thought& satisfying. The atmosphere was cool and local with a sexy feeling. The colors of the place might have won me over even more😉 Reviews have said the prices were expensive; According to what?. A carefully curated, cool, popular place that offers not only food&drinks but also an experience. How can a place like this be cheap these days? (Try checking prices online ahead) You can go to 'taco bell' kind of places instead. I loved it. I'd go again.

Probably one of the best tacos I ever had

Coba attempts to add a fine dining flair to classic mexican street food with varying degrees of success. If you’re looking for authentic tacos, this is not the place. If you’re ok with western twists on classics, and spending more money on tacos than ever thought possible, you could give it a shot. The cactus and mushroom taco was my favorite of the night.

Disappointing menu. It's called Taqueria and has just one page menu for food (maybe 10 items in total) of which only 3 are tacos! Misleading name of the restaurant. Portions were tiny for the prices. I don't know how people are raving about the food. Not authentic Mexican. Even if its for drinks, I am surprised as for 6 Euros it was a half glass kambucha.

Not what it used to be. The tacos are getting smaller and less filled. The taco al pastor is a shadow of what it once was and even the ceviche tostada, once legendary, has changed. It seems like they are skimping on ingredients and that has been at the expense of the taste. We will not be coming back here.

probably my favourite restaurant in amsterdam. their margaritas & palomas are unmatched, atmosphere is perfect, and the suadero tacos are something I think about almost every day. pricey, but if you treat it as a special occasion, it's completely worth it every time. and Coba: please bring back the blackened fish tacos!!!

The environment is simply impeccable, so tidy, fast service, friendly and helpful staff, the food is simply so perfect and delicious, it seems like angels shaped every part of the dishes I ate.

Food is delicious. Very small tacos though, you have to order a lot to be full. Quite expensive. You have to pay for sauce, that time was still included. Chairs are not comfortable, couch or long stool wobble.

Went to Coba a couple of years ago for my birthday, had a great time with delicious food and cocktails. Went again tonight and first of all the staff are miserable, we had a bored uninterested waitress at 18:00 who couldn’t stop reminding us about when our table is up. The menu is small and uninspiring with just one small page for food yet there’s about 5 pages for different types of spirits/ mezcal but limited cocktails. For the price, the tacos are tiny and so are the drinks. €14 for a margarita (while delicious) is just not necessary. Overall Coba seems to be style over substance these days. Shame.

Food is made from high quality ingredients, you can definitely tell that. However I walk out of there 120 euros down (2 people - only with 1 x beer 1 x cocktail 1 x mocktail) and I am still hungry. My second time, would come back for third - but wouldn't rush back considering the pricing. Decor is cool and staff are nice.

The best Mexican food we have had in the Netherlands! Amazing vegetarian tacos and tostadas. The cactus pistachio mole tostada was our favourite. The mezcal cocktails were superb, and really nice natural wine. The service was stellar, really friendly folks and laid-back vibes.

The food was quite good, but not as distinctive as the competitor from North, I really missed depth in the dishes. I didn't really like the service, I don't know exactly why, but it was quite pushy, and in any case it didn't seem loving or genuine. Furthermore, the reason why I gave the 1 star. When paying by card, the question is: 'Give 10%, 20%, 30% tip (or nothing). This is something that will never make me come back. I find forcing a tip to be disgusting, so you always get a 0% and a bad review. In any case, for a meal of +-65 euros per person, daring to propose 30% is absolutely outrageous... but begging, insisting or pushing to give a tip is a no-go.

We really had a pleasant evening at Coba. Very friendly staff and quick service. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and it created a very nice atmosphere to dine. We tried several options and and enjoyed the taste and plating. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice evening out!

The food was good, but not for that price 😅 The quesadillas is something I can make myself for way less of the price. The flavor was good, but not that amazing that I want to come again just for that (specially because of the price, I feel is not worth it) I feel it needed a bit more flavor. The cocktails were really good and the services was also good. I really liked the interior, it looked authentic I would say :)

The food was next level, but the octopus and cactus tacos were particularly amazing, I’d highly recommend them. The food was so good I ended up having deserts, even though I couldn’t eat anymore — and it was just as good as the savoury dishes. The drinks also didn’t let us down (La Guera was probably my favourite). This was my second time here and I’ll definitely come back again.

My visit to Coba was an extraordinary experience. The service and food were impeccable, with a welcoming atmosphere. The flavors surprised me. The desserts are a spectacle in themselves, worth the visit in themselves.

We came here for the cocktails and were given more than we could ask for. Quality products, great cocktails, and just the best service. Special thanks to Ricardo. We only found out after we’d arrived that they have a separate cocktail bar next to the restaurant, which made it even better. Will definitely be back.

Coba is a super fun atmosphere with incredible tacos. The corn tortillas are super fresh and don’t fall apart. The standouts are the nopal (cactus) taco and al pastor. I was disappointed by the cocktail menu. There’s no tequila menu, they only have house tequila. And the margaritas and palomas came out SO fast, I think they’re premade not made to order. I would still come back for a birthday dinner but I hope the margs/palomas improve.

A very expensive and overpriced taco place with mid tacos and a very bad service that takes so long for each order, spent 60€ for 2 people here and we walked out still hungry. They also asked for a tip as if they are not already overcharging you 🤡🤡

Very small dishes and for a very high value!

Tasty, but too expensive. It is recommended to order at least 4 dishes and if you are a big eater, you really need that. The point is that all options are at least € 12, so you already spend almost € 50 for a meal - without drinks. It's tasty (except for the fat that was left on my plate) and a trendy place, so they'll think they can charge that for themselves. But I think the price/quality is out of balance.

Made a reservation at 18:00. Having a good time with friends. Drink and eat, waiter comes at 19:15 (!) to tell us they’re doing a “last round” for us. Were like ?? Waiter comes again at 19:45 to tell us they’re asking us politely to pay because the next guests are waiting. We walk out, it seems on our way out no one is waiting. Multiple empty tables. Honestly Coba fix this. Been at your place multiple times in the past years but this aggressive double / triple couverts policy is nonsense. Btw food, drinks and atmosphere is amazing

Great food and nice interior design, but absolutely terrible service and portions. We kept waving at the servers and no one came over to get our orders or put down a menu till 30 minutes after we sat down. After that, it was tough to get their attention again for the whole meal whenever we wanted to order something else. I don’t know if the staff were just incredibly busy tonight, but questions about the menu were also met with open annoyance by the staff. The tacos and tostadas were great, but portions very small, and I still left hungry after paying a lot of money. Am definitely not coming back.

Disappointed. I’m down to overpay for Mexican, but it needs to be amazing in that case. Tacos barely had anything in them. Took 90 minutes to get all our food. Tostadas were tasty and staff was nice. Heading home, ordering tacos on Ubereats as we speak (señor mostachio’s)

I had a great experience here! The food was delicious and I really liked the concept of sharing the plate, it makes you order various things and try out more delicious things. The service was great and it was clear the waiters were attentive. All in all, I will definitely come here again and I highly recommend you also do so

Honestly food was delicious but the price was really off putting. We went a year or so ago and when sharing, 3 or 2 pieces was fine, but to now do 1 or 2 for the same price was a real let down. We took our friends who came to visit and we left hungry after spending a small fortune.

Hands down the best tacos in Amsterdam. Had my birthday celebrated there with some friends and we all loved it. Service and atmosphere were great, love the playlist! Finally had some worthy Mexican food in Amsterdam. The chef were super attentive to one of us gluten intolerance. Food was really balance and well executed. Si señor(ita)! This place is something else. Located far from the city centre this gem in Noord serves excellent haute cuisine (¿alta cocina?) tacos, quesadillas y más. Very hip vibe but no posers, just Mexican food lovers. Oh, and let’s not forget about tequila and cocktails. Vamos!

The food is delicious, special flavor combinations and refined. The only disadvantage is the 2-hour time slot, which is really too short if you are with a group of friends. The staff is nice, but after just over an hour we were informed of the time slot and what was/was not still possible to order. The bill was brought without asking and we were really on the fence, not relaxed and that is not nice because you end up spending a lot of money. We ended up having dessert 200 meters further at Chateau Amsterdam. Time slot of 2.5 hours would have been better.

Delicious ! We tried many dishes including the octopus toast, the tongue taco, the quesadilla with truffle and I don't remember what else but the dessert was also spectacular! We chose the tres leches and we were surprised by the ice cream mixture that was super nice and spicy! The cocktails were also delicious, we ordered the Papi which was mezcal with chili and mezcalitas! I 100% recommend going

It is my opinion that if you’re going to charge top dollar(€15+ for one TINY taco) the food and service needs to match the price you are charging. That is not the case here. •Portions are extremely small and bland •Only one appetizer offered- chips and salsa; the chips were so hard they were not even edible •Weird vibes all around and zero accommodation from servers.

If you are lover for nice Mexican authentic meal, this is not a place to go, tacos are coming cold, and extremely small. service is super kind but somehow over demanding, every 5 min coming to you starting to ask -do you wanna order something else? that was really wired experience, and doesn’t make you to enjoy your evening. Margaritas was amazing, but we never will return

Super cozy vibes and especially a nice team!!We reserved front bar and it was very nice to engage with the kitchen crew. The food is amazing - I especially enjoyed the veal taco 🌮 Service was on point and atmosphere as well. I would recommend to have drinks at Tula before or after, their attention on their different quality of mezcal is unique. We definitely need more of these places in Amsterdam where the emphasis is on the details, authenticity and quality. So far one of my favorite places to bring my friends to :-)

Beef brisket taco was far too wet, left a puddle on my plate and much to be desired. Wouldn’t return or recommend, average marg without the spice that was requested

Poor service quality - timing was the biggest issue with regards to both time between order and receipt of food but also complete misalignment between arrival of foods for certain people vs others at our table. I was ready for dessert when my friend had not started eating yet. Work is needed on the logistics. Most of the food was tasty, however

Extremely bad. The chef feels too proud to take allergies into account. Then make the mistake and serve it. Half of the ticket was already sold out at 9:15 PM. Then we were promised dessert and that too was delivered through our noses. What do you think? Discount? Drink ? No… too proud. Not recommended at all.
