Great place to chill with friends. You can play pool at around 7.5 bucks an hour which is way cheaper than other cafes!

Altijd gezellig. Of je nou komt voor een praatje aan de bar. Of als je sportief aangelegd bent voor een potje pool of darts. Of een sportwedstrijd op groot scherm. En op vrijdag en zaterdag tot in de late uurtjes. Ze hebben er vaak hele fijne muziek.

Nice café, great vibe, very affordable beers, more than enough space for playing darts (which is free). Also a few pooltables available. Big smoking area, boasting another pooltable and two dartbords. Great service as well. Big recommended!

Gasthuislaan 36A few months ago, I was physically assaulted by one of the regulars at this bar out of the blue. The bartender refused to act appropriately and defended the perpetrator. I left and called the police, who promptly went to investigate. Nothing came of it. Last Wednesday, I was back at 't Proeflokaal with a friend, and the same bartender was there again. It was fine and pleasant with my buddy. When my friend went home and I wanted another beer, the bartender refused me "because of what I did last time." I paid and left. Never again at 't Proeflokaal, at least not with this bartender.
