A truly fantastic cafe, with friendly staff and delicious food! We had a BP Club, and our daughter had American pancakes. We went back later in the afternoon for a delicious slice of homemade apple pie with whipped cream and a bowl of hot chocolate. Another top-notch location!

If you ever wondered what its like to eat something which looks like a burger but doesnt taste like a burger - pls go here! However, if you want to eat a burger - do not go here by all means. Never thought it possible to be saddened by a burger🤙🏼🥴

A nice location where they serve good food. The service is friendly, but as in many student towns, they seem untrained in the job. They forget part of the order, don't automatically recognize when the table needs to be cleared, or when a customer wants to order something more.

I came here for lunch after reading the good reviews while out and about in Nijmegen. Upon entering, the place was very busy. I managed to get a table, but then it took a long time for someone to come and take my order. The waiters walked by the table several times, and there were also some staff chatting at the bar/cash register. I think it's a shame that after a while you have to ask someone to order. The coffee and lunch, however, arrived very quickly and were delicious.

The food was delicious. Two different salads with homemade cola. Exceptionally delicious! Cozy atmosphere! Very friendly and patient service. Neat, lots of customers, and yet your order is served quickly and in generous portions. If it were closer to home, I would come back regularly!

Our whole family was there. We ordered a few drinks, but didn't order any food because we wanted something else, which unfortunately wasn't on offer – the menu was dominated by appetizers. The place has a nice atmosphere and was very busy. The service was efficient and friendly.

A fantastic place to unwind after a stroll through Nijmegen. The terrace outside is very pleasant, but the interior is also cozy and inviting. The menu is extensive and offers more than enough dishes and snacks to keep you occupied for a long time. It's also a great spot in Nijmegen to watch the people walk by 😀 Last but not least, the staff is always cheerful and happy to chat, making this a regular stop for us in Nijmegen.

A wonderful place to enjoy a cappuccino and homemade iced tea, or to enjoy a delicious BP club sandwich. The service from Hanne (who serves with a broad smile) and Guido (in the kitchen) is also excellent. Highly recommended for Nijmegen city center!

Very good experience. We loved the sandwiches. I asked for a gluten free sandwich, and I had exactly the one I wanted from the menu with gluten free bread. Very tasty. The home made ginger beer was delicious. The waiter ms were very kind. Thanks.

Delicious salty pancakes, both with and without syrup, I thoroughly enjoyed them. Today is September 2nd, and I'm back at the blonde pater for the second time in 1.5 months. And once again, a delicious piece of homemade apple pie with mint tea... the apple pie didn't make it to the photo, haha.

All the way from Belgium to Nijmegen for a performance at Doornroosje. We were staying very close to the city center, and the owner of the Airbnb recommended De Blonde Pater. We had an incredible Bourdain's Favorite on Saturday afternoon. We went back for breakfast on Sunday morning and later for lunch before heading back to Belgium. What a fantastic place. Very friendly staff. Nice interior. And the accompanying music was my favorite of all. Congratulations to the whole team! 🙏

A lovely cafe with friendly staff and a good lunch menu. My girlfriend and I shared a BP Club sandwich (a club sandwich with fried egg, bacon, and more, plus a delicious sauce) because the portions are generous. It came on two plates, which the kitchen thought was a good idea.

Probably the best lunch café in Nijmegen. I still remember how proud the owner was when they added a conservatory in 1990 and later took over the neighboring building. A wonderful spot in the sun to watch the people go by.

Unpleasant incident – disappointing handling of the situation A quick preface: The food was generally delicious. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. A waitress accidentally spilled an entire tray of hot coffee over our stroller due to the intervention of another customer. Fortunately, our child wasn't lying in it, but the incident could have ended badly. The waitress apologized briefly and brought us some wipes – we handled the situation calmly and understandingly, even though it certainly had cause for concern. The management's behavior was all the more disappointing: Despite asking, there was no compensation or concession – neither an offer to clean up nor even a small compensation for the incident. Especially in a family-friendly restaurant, one would have expected more responsibility and customer service. Unfortunately, this was our last visit – and we cannot recommend the restaurant under these circumstances either. We have to (have) the stroller cleaned; further use is not possible.

I sat down at Blonde Pater with a friend and my grandmother. There was a strong smell of weed on the patio, and we were smoking cigarettes. The staff repeatedly spoke to us, clearly whispering about whether it was our fault, and kept pointing at us after we'd already indicated we weren't smoking a joint. It was blatantly racially profiling, and we felt incredibly unwelcome. It's absurd that the staff openly displayed their racist prejudices to customers.

One of Nijmegen's most iconic spots. Fresh, modern, and relaxed with excellent dining options. Well worth a visit.

Well, for years a favorite place for lunch

I had a cup of coffee here during the first weekend of the Four Days Marches. I really enjoyed it; there was plenty of space and the staff was friendly and young. Despite the crowds, I managed to find a great spot, and the service was fast. I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a treat in the sunshine.

Delicious food in a pleasant, yet busy, location. The staff was prompt, we received our orders quickly, and the staff was very hospitable and pleasant.

We were able to snag a table for lunch during a rainy, drizzly Sunday afternoon in Nijmegen. We were a bit disappointed that they didn’t have the “Hapjes “ menu available until after 3 pm but split a club sandwich which was very good. Service wasn’t super fast but since we needed to dodge the rain for a few hours anyway we didn’t mind.

Unfortunately, I am forced to leave a negative review. Over the past year, the quality of the salads here has deteriorated drastically. I came here for lunch with my mom. A year ago, I used to order salads here – the portions were large and filling, and the ingredients were fresh. This time, however, we were served an almost empty plate. I am attaching a photo from a year ago as proof – back then, the salad was truly worth the money. Now, there is simply no point in expecting good food here. I would also like to note the terrible quality of the ingredients. In the “Sydney” salad, the tomatoes were supposed to be sun-dried, but instead, they tasted stale and sour. When we asked for the bill, the waiter asked if everything was tasty. I showed him the old photo and asked why the portions had become so small. In response, I received only a standard sweet smile and an inappropriate joke about portion sizes. I would like to point out that this type of “communication” with guests is completely unacceptable. I expected a clear explanation of the situation, not an attempt to brush it off with jokes.

Cosy brown pub with a nice atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy the best beers. If that makes you hungry, you can also eat something there.

A great cafe, that I actually recommend it. It has a variety of different beverages and deserts. Also you have to try the burger! It was the best I have ever tried. The cafe was so huge and it had many tables. The decoration was also very modern and beautiful… The staff was so friendly and polite. I suggest you this cafe without any doubt!

And then you sit with the Blonde Father. Heard a lot about it and now finally an espresso is a household name in the coffee world. Nice place, food (lunch) looked very good, to be honest I haven't had it now, but I will definitely come back. Nice decoration and the Father is in a central place. The espresso and strange that I have to say that, where they have specials here, but it could have been adjusted better, was a little too flat in my opinion. And visit quite a few places in the world. But maybe I should have asked for a different blend.... The Latte looked good and the Latte art on the cappuccino looked excellent.... Definitely go back there again

Delicious food but very little, a small square white sandwich.

Great place for a nice lunch. But of course it is the staff who take care of this. A lot of experience for the profession and good customer contact means that you never have to wait long for a delicious lunch dish. All great people, like Rosa who really served us well today.

Best place for lunch in Nijmegen.

Ondanks dat het rustig was op mijn deel van het terras duurde het voor mijn gevoel best lang voordat er een serveerster langs kwam. Ik bestelde een drankje en bitterballen, maar bij het serveren van de bitterballen keek de serveerster de andere kant op en toen viel het bordje met ballen bijna van de plak. Ik moest haar zelfs waarschuwen. Toen ik klaar was haalde ze het lege plankje weer op, maar vroeg niet eens of het gesmaakt had. Kennelijk had de serveerster een offday. Jammer dat de service die ik gewend was er niet was deze dag. In plaats van een tweede drankje te nemen heb ik maar snel afgerekend en ben vertrokken.

We zijn hier in de zomer eerder geweest en lekker gegeten maar deze keer 30 minuten gewacht voordat we werden geholpen na meerdere oogcontacten. Uiteindelijk weggegaan en niks kunnen lunchen. Verpestte de hele sfeer helaas.

Great city cafe, food is fine but feels a bit conveyer belt, as in well done by run of the mill. Which can be expected given the size of the cafe, it’s quite big. As is there menu, which tells you how the cafe We had the soups and various sandwiches as well as coffee. The latter was better than expected as it came from a machine. Prices were okay and the staff was very lovely—if you’re looking for a good bite the blond monk is a fine choice (no monks spotted however, we did see lots of blondes)

What an expensive thing. 1 large beer and 1 hot chocolate with whipped cream for €13.75. That's not normal anymore. I ordered before looking at the price. We looked at other prices. The price for 8 pieces of bitterballen is €10. Just crazy. However, the service is smooth and friendly. But won't be coming here again anytime soon. Plenty of other things in the center.

Blonde pater kan je heerlijk zitten en lunchen. Kan soms wel erg druk zijn waardoor je even op een plekje moet wachten maar is zeker de moeite waard.

A very nice place, also with children. We were in the part adjacent to the Stikke Hezestraat, where you still have a nice view of everyone who walks past. It's my favourite place in Nijmegen. Very good food, so nice sandwiche, especially local products. They have good coffee, beer, and homemade lemonades.

Business lunch with three people. Thursday afternoon and very busy in this attractive eatery. Fast service from waitress. Didn't seem very friendly at first, but luckily that improved quickly afterwards. Club sandwich three times, but unfortunately 2 chicken and 1 salmon were served instead of 1 chicken and 2 salmon. Pressure and human errors so did not report this either. Tasted very good, but lacked the decoration with Nacho chips that usually comes with a club sandwich. Besides these small points, satisfied and will definitely come again!

Today was not our first time in this restaurant, usually everything goes well, but today we were a little disappointed with the service. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a not very welcoming girl, but we didn't pay attention. we had two menus on the table, the girl simply took the breakfast menu from us almost out of our hands without permission, we tried not to pay attention to it either. after ordering coffee we wanted to order breakfast at 11:50 am, but this girl replied that time was up (although the menu says breakfast is until 12:00 pm and we can place an order before then), we were perplexed and called another waiter and asked the same thing, to which we got the same answer, in the end we were a bit angry and asked the waiter in the kitchen, and still it turned out that we could place an order. We were dissatisfied with the visit to this restaurant this time, this situation was disturbing, we wanted to spend time together and not deal with the waiters about the order
