Unchanged for years, just more types of beer. A great place for a drink in a casual atmosphere in a brown pub.

We have been celebrating our traditional drinks here on New Year's Eve for years. Cozy pub with friendly service. They serve a nice Brand beer.

Didn't eat so no opinion on that. Cozy little cafe, friendly staff, reasonable prices

Bad service today. Ordered beer tasting twice but did not receive it after waiting 20 minutes. Staff chat a lot with each other and I saw one of the bartenders snacking on coffee and baileys.

Lovely place to be and have something to drink and eat. Warm and atmospheric and a great card!

Great place on the Grote Markt in the heart of Groningen. The terrace in front of the business is a bit quieter than the one in front of the Three Sisters (also better chairs), but you can't have a bite to eat there (only snacks). A plus point is the nice extensive range of specialty beers.

Servant always walking behind your table while there was nothing to do at our table, that was point 1, Point 2 When you are eating, take things from your table while you are still busy

Cozy restaurant that we really liked. You can't change anything about the old facility. That's how we like it. Plus a delicious beer.

The bartender was unbelievably rude. He outright refused to give me a glass of water when I asked, which is absolutely disgraceful. I've never experienced such appalling treatment at any other bar in Groningen.

Messy terrace, dirty table. Management acts as if you don't exist. The beer was tasty but very pricey.

Nice staff, a cheerful young lady served us with a large tower of whipped cream with the chocolate milk. Mixed guests, just fun!

Der Witz is actually a joke. Groningen is no longer Groningen in this bar. Full of choir balls that a normal person wouldn't even look at and think the city is theirs. Avoid this café and look for the real gems that still exist in beautiful Groningen.

The toasties were ready-made and the baguette with herb butter was ready-made at the Albertheijn and you pay too much for it. Coffee was fine

My favorite terrace for a glass of wine and delicious bitterballen.

I've been going to groningen for 8 years der witz is a bar I always go back to. Good selection of beer. Building has wonderful atmosphere

You can go there... But don't drink that house beer from the tap. It's a terrible nightmare compared to all the other thousands beers in the world. Feels like a slap in face with an old fish, sorry. But the music was fun. :-)

A classic Dutch 'brown' bar. An old building, wooden clad interior and laid back vibe. It's tucked away in a corner of the square, surrounded by bigger, brasher places but you have the feeling that it's seen them come and go but just carried on being a nice little bar.

We got the front seat next to the entrance, and it had a very nice view of the square outside. It has a nice selection of beers. The building looked so cute from the outside that we could not resist entering. Because of the nice atmosphere we were back just two days later.

Ben nu 61, kwam hier al in studententijd. Zelfde hoekje aan het raam..... Na 40 jaar.... Wat mis ik mijn jeugd... Geweldig café.... top.

Top café met een hele ruime keuze aan verschillende bieren. Lekkere snackjes en een leuke plek om te zitten, echt een gezellig café. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Sinds lange tijd weer eens in Der Witz geweest. Blijft leuk en een lekker blond biertje van de tap.

Leuke kroeg, wel wat smal vooral bij de bar wat het passeren wat lastig maakt. Maar achterin is weer meer ruimte. Omdat het niet een al te grote kroeg is is het daarom ook snel gezellig. Leuke vlotte bediening.

Klein, maar erg gezellig cafe met een behoorlijk aanbod aan speciaal bier.

Diese Kneipe gehört bei jeder Kneipentour dazu. Seit 15 Jahren unser Place-to-be neben vielen Weiteren in der Stadt Groningen.

Wir waren schon ein paarmal in dieser urigen Kneipe. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr schön und die Lage direkt am Markt. Immer wieder gerne! Ob Kaffee oder ein Bierchen, Preis Leistung Super!

Schöne gemütliche Kneipe. Es gibt allerlei Biersorten und die gesamte Getränkekarte lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Das Personal ist sehr nett und die Gläser werden nach Gebrauch mit kochendem Wasser gefüllt und gespült 😀

Der Wirtz is een top kroeg. Zit hier graag aan een drankje. Altijd gezellig bar personeel. Helaas geen schippersbitter meer te verkrijgen. Gelukkig nog wel lekkere bieren, wijnen en hapjes.
