Café Goossens in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

Nice menu, of all the flavors I am a fan of Gouden Carolus, but feel free to come for other alternatives.

Het terras ligt centraal en met een heerlijk oktober-zonnetje streken we hier neer voor de lunch. Het terras is redelijk bezet en de jongen die het bedient is alleen waardoor hij flink moet lopen. We kiezen voor kroketten met brood een een hotdog met zuurkool. De drankjes verschijnen al snel en niet veel later het eten, althans een deel. De kroketten met brood staan op tafel maar de hotdog laat nog een kleine 10 minuten op zich wachten. Dat is toch wat vervelend als je niet tegelijk kan eten. De lunch smaak verder prima, niets mis mee. Bediening verder prima en de locatie is erg fraai.

The good weather made it especially enjoyable. The service was simply excellent, and the food was ready on time. The carpaccio was quite tough, and the toasted sandwich tasted strange. It was fine to sit there, but we wouldn't return :)

Worst G&T ever. very small glass mostly filled with ice cubes. Could barely taste the Hendricks, the advertised cucumber was not there (got a slice of lemon). two sips and it was gone. Huge disappointment for 11 euros!

Good latte macchiatio. Toasti was good too. Service curt.

Sat on the terrace for 10 minutes, enjoying the sun. At a table further away, two members of staff were also enjoying the sun with a lady from the fish stall. Apparently there were no other active colleagues. Then we went to one of the neighbors where we were served quickly.

Cafe Goossens, quite a household name in Nijmegen. Located on the Grote Markt, and great location to visit for visitors to our great city of Nijmegen. Goossens, definitely go for a drink, friendly, professional and helpful staff. Definitely recommended 🙏🏼

Delicious cocktails and a great atmosphere

Not good unfortunately. Grumpy service and mediocre food quality. A snack board for 18 euros, but apparently with leftovers. An incoherent combination of, among other things, refrigerator-cold bread with tasteless tomato pieces, four slices of meat and green pesto 🤷‍♀️ Drinks arrived late and when the snacks arrived the glasses were empty. After a long effort, the waiter paid attention to another round of drinks. Did I already write that the service was quite grumpy and was not really open to our experience at checkout? In short: a very disappointing experience, but still a star for the nice terrace in the sun

Nice café with plenty of drinks and some nice food options. Nothing that stood out in particular, but the service is amazing and it was a very fun cozy place to grab quick bite and a drink. I do not recommend the gingerbeer. Too spicy. Sandwiches are great though.

Bad experience, takes hours for a new drink to come while they walk by 3 times. Furthermore, we did not receive extra napkins because they are too expensive. The Natchos were tasty

Cozy covered and heated terrace. Pleasant service and knowledgeable about the range of drinks. Despite the crowds, excellent service where we were helped quickly. Top!!!! Highly recommended and worth repeating.

Plankje met borrelhapjes was maar zozo. Flinterdunne plakjes worst om het plankje te bedekken. Prima voorgesneden broodje. Servetjes bij dit fingerfood moesten we om vragen en kregen we nooit ondanks het vriendelijke "natuurlijk". Ook de bestelde "fish&chips" door mijn echtgenote kwamen nooit door. Wèl terug te vinden op de bon. Ook het later door mijn vrouw bestelde biertje wist onze tafel (46) niet te bereiken. Een behoorlijk onplezierige ervaring die ons uitje aardig vergalde. Sterke afrader dus.

When we are in Nijmegen we always visit Café Goossens, with nice and friendly service, just like a good café should be.

Very nice and open staff. Wide choice of beers and IPA on tap. Wine ditto, nice broad palette available by the glass. Honest snacks, quality plus. Terrace always full, meeting place for all ages and I still live in the Randstad. Still, there is always room in the sun until sunset. What else do you want?

Terrace is neat and tidy, the service is a bit less... Service was extremely slow, various things arrived at different times. Service came several times to ask if what we ordered was for us. We were given no napkins and a small fork for cutlery. The rest of the menu is fine, not much choice during lunch.

Nijmegen middle-class café. More likely CDA than VVD. So if you want to belong, you have to show up here. Fons de Poel is spotted here after the Four Days Marches. Solid café: reliable service, even when it is very busy.

Tussen de vele kroegen en cafés aan de Grote Markt is dit wel echt een pareltje. Aardige bediening, gezellige sfeer. Je ziet echt dat er stamgasten zitten, maar je kan er als toerist of buitenstaander prima bij gaan zitten!

We wilden na een lange avondwandeling graag even ergens gezellig gaan zitten om wat te drinken en kwamen langs Café Goossens. We hadden ook best trek en besloten niet alleen een biertje te nemen maar ook wat hapjes. We kozen voor ‘ambachtelijke’ bitterballen en een kaasplankje. Gesmuld van het lekkers en onze glazen ’t IJ Zatte. De sfeer was goed en lekker bruin. Geen spijt.

Enjoyed sitting on the terrace. Service was very friendly and fast, the drinks were on the table in no time. Large terrace with a beautiful view of the former weighing house. Highly recommended. Various beers on tap, including wheat beer. In addition, an extensive menu with snacks and other refreshments.
