Lovely cozy spot on the corner, went at 3pm on a Wednesday as was a lovely relaxed space to have a couple drinks. Bar staff lovely and accommodating. Good selection of beers on tap and by bottle. Didn't eat so hence no evaluation of that service.

English Below, Friday around midnight on July 10, 2026 Very unfriendly and unprofessional service and staff. I only asked for a regular cup of coffee, because I had a flight the next morning and wanted to stay awake at night. But there was a very angry young man standing at the bar who was shouting at me and ordering me to leave. I asked him for a carbonated drink like Coca-Cola or Sprite, but he forced me to leave because he suspected I was under the influence. I understand that it is unusual to ask for a cup of coffee in the middle of the night, but the bartender should at least be patient and respectful enough to listen to people until they have finished speaking, which he did not do in my case. You have to have respect for your customers and not assume that everyone in Amsterdam wants to buy or use weed (which is often meant by 'coffee' in Amsterdam). My advice for the bar is to hire people who enjoy serving others and working in the hospitality industry, rather than a student who needs money without checking whether they have a good attitude or manners. The cafe looks cozy. Unfortunately, the service is below par. I asked if I could use the toilet for a fee. But I had to buy a drink first. I didn't have time for a drink at all, and besides, I needed to go to the toilet. I don't understand how a hospitality owner can be so rude. If I were mayor, I would close down all places like this. It's a shame, because it seemed like a business with potential. Regarding the comment: I understand reading is difficult, but I wrote that I wanted to pay for the toilet. Because I understand that it isn't free. But that was immediately refused. It was ONLY possible after purchasing a drink. Apparently, every waiter makes up their own rules.

Beautiful café, but a small bowl of nuts for 6 euros—wrapped in plastic, no less—is a bit rough, guys.

The café is a welcoming place to linger. Good coffee.

Last week we had a few drinks with some people. But when we ordered bitterballen, it was immediately the last time for all of us. We ordered 3 portions and asked for mustard because it wasn't included, which is normal, isn't it? When we asked for mustard, it cost €1.00 for a measly little bowl. A disgrace!! We are never coming here again. I have never experienced anything like this; is that Amsterdam stinginess??

We had a great time, especially thanks to the waiter (I don't know his name, but he was running everything single-handedly that Sunday, March 8th, after 9 pm) who regularly asked if we were alright! The beers were very good and reasonably priced, the bar is cool and well-located, but above all, the service was top-notch, so thank you very much! ☺️

Scammers!!! Putting shots on the bartender's tab... so in the end, you end up paying the owner for the shots too... I've never experienced anything so strange and been ripped off so badly.

Enjoy the wonderful Amsterdam atmosphere and visit one of the many pubs outside the city center. Here you'll find authentic Amsterdam hospitality, not the tourist traps. Café Langereis is one of those cozy pubs that's definitely worth a visit.

We visited this lovely little bar based on a recommendation. The atmosphere is really great and very cozy, especially if you want to grab a drink with friends. We can't comment on the food, but the drinks were worth the price 👍🏻

A cozy café with friendly staff who look after you! It's attractively decorated with seating areas for both small and large groups.

Very charming local spot. That is a great place to get out on the cold and rain and excessive tourist infestation that you find all over. Amsterdam. Servers were friendly and helpful. I find it concerning that many reviews mention unfriendly or aggressive staff, and that the café’s responses repeatedly state they “checked the cameras,” “did not see anything,” or that it was “probably a different place.” From a customer’s perspective, these replies feel dismissive and minimise the experiences being shared. Unfortunately, my own visit reflected what others have described. The staff member I interacted with was rude and unwelcoming, and their behavior appeared unprofessional. I later noticed similar remarks in other reviews, which made the experience feel less like an isolated incident. Additionally, I was told I had to pay €25 for bringing a small birthday cake, with the explanation that the café also sells cakes. However, after checking the menu and photos available online, I could not find any indication that cakes are offered. Overall, the experience was disappointing and uncomfortable for a special occasion. Based on this visit, I would not return.

What a cool venue! We felt like we were in a Billy Joel song. The artists, who weren't actually a band but were rehearsing the same songs and then performing them together live, really made our evening special! The waitress was so lovely. The vibe was amazing—wow!

Bartender RUDE and offensive, probably a drunk. I'd avoid this place with all speed plenty of better places right in the neighborhood. Bartender was actually yelling at people because they were not buying enough drinks. Would never go back here. Response to owner: This WAS your bar not another one. Check your cameras for when the bar was closing and a young girl was trying to use the internet to call an Uber while your bartender, whom was not getting the attention he wanted from her, cursed at her and intimidated her because she would not buy a drink even though she told him she was only 19. If your cameras run 24/7, you should be able to see this close to closing Amsterdam time.

I came into this bar on Nov 22nd to use the advertised wifi when my cellular broke, and I’d lost my family. The bartender followed me to multiple corners of the bar within the 5 minutes I was there, asking me questions like “are you alone”. Finally, as I’m standing by the door on my phone, he comes over and says I’m “acting like a b word” for not ordering anything. I explained that I would the second my family got here, I was just trying to explain to them where I was, and he stands over me, calls me “horrible” and multiple slurs that google will not allow me to post, and says “f you” When I asked him to please just leave me alone, he opens the door I’m standing next to and tells me to “get the f out”. I wasn’t bothering anyone, I was completely sober, and did everything I could to deescalate the situation. I’m 19 and visiting Amsterdam for the first time, and I understand tourists aren’t always given the most respect, but this was the most violent and uncalled for interaction I have ever had with a man and I am leaving this review as I reckon other women need to be aware before they go to this bar.

Very friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. I didn't expect to find a chill cafe like this so close to Rembrandtplein. Only had a drink, so I can't comment on the food. I'll definitely be back :)

We ordered a couple of coffees and cake so I can’t really rate the food, but I want to highlight the service. There was this lively and very nice (Italian, maybe?) girl at the bar, chatting with everybody, making coffee and really making the place feel welcoming and cozy. Sadly, we discovered the place our last day at Amsterdam (and it was a few meters away from our hotel! )… I would love to come back!

I'm reluctant to write this negative review, but what I experienced last night was truly shocking and I just had to share it. I had to pay €2 for a dirty toilet, got knocked over by a drunken guest, causing my drink to fall, and the bartenders didn't intervene. Later, a young bartender treated me so rudely and even cursed me out, which made me feel very unsafe and uncomfortable. It's a shame, because the pub itself and the music were great, but after this experience, I won't be back. As an Amsterdammer, I don't think this reflects well on the city.

A cozy bar with a small terrace. The beer selection was huge, and the snacks were also delicious (we ordered the bitterballen, which had to be ordered elsewhere). Only the waitress was a bit of an oddball. She gave us a strange look and acted very shocked/fake-friendly when we went in for a second time to have a drink after hesitating. Otherwise, it's a great bar when all the other bars in Amsterdam are closed.

Nice vibe and great service. We sat by the canals and it was lovely. They didn't have food other than some cold snack like chips so that was a downside.

A truly beautiful restaurant, very attractively decorated, with a good selection of drinks. We didn't eat anything. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was really friendly. Our only criticism is the bathroom facilities. They definitely need some improvement. But despite this, we visited the restaurant several times. It's conveniently located on Line 4.

Update: they still use the beer profit glasses here. A glass of Jupiler costs €3.70 per 20cl. That means €4.60 for a vase. Be warned.

We stopped at this place for a snack after a whole afternoon spent seeing museums. The place is furnished in a basic and rustic way, quiet atmosphere, welcoming staff even if at times there was a bit of confusion due to people speaking in a loud tone of voice and also the loud music. Good cake, not exceptional but okay. Slightly high price for the cake.

Authentic Dutch pub with a wide choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and they also do something to eat, both sweet and savory, the cappuccino and coffee are of high quality and I can finally drink a proper Italian espresso or cappuccino! What about when I have some free time and want to have fun whether it's midday or midnight and one of my favorite places also because they are all super welcoming!

It's a nice place. The woman was very friendly and helpful (I'm a picky beer drinker), but she had some difficult guests I saw. Kids were also sleeping next to us it was way too late for them, probably tired of the whole day tourisitng.

Just after 11 p.m., a young man and woman who appeared to be a couple with a baby entered the store, quickly received drinks, and then left. It was wonderful to feel that there was no separation. Freedom. There are casual conversations, occasional band performances, and cheerful soul and rock music. During the three times I've been here, I haven't seen many tourists, but I've always been able to taste the beer, which has more flavor than it should. I feel like this place was the birthplace, and I want to visit again.

Small café with small snacks available. We ordered nachos, we got a big portion. Lush whipped cream on the hot chocolate. Toilet door could not be locked. That is a point for improvement. There is live music every Tuesday.

I was here having the best time, had drinks for two hours. Tried to get to the bathroom when leaving for the night got thrown out and had the worst experience ever. Only reason for the bad score is the worse person in the bar ever!
