Authentic Amsterdam pub. A bit of a queue on a Saturday night, but it's worth it. A great experience, despite the crowds. The staff is fantastic, friendly, and hard-working! The crowd is made up of like-minded people looking for a night out. Give each other space and dance/drink/laugh/enjoy! You have to try it.

We went in last night (while it lasted). But it was incredibly crowded; the bouncer had absolutely no idea how busy it actually was. It was jammed, jammed, jammed. So crowded that we couldn't even make it to the bar. Two of our group nearly fainted from the crowd, and the fact that you couldn't even make it to the exit properly because so many people were huddled together. I'm sorry, but this is absolutely unacceptable!

It's been ages since I've been here. Nothing seems to have changed in all that time. A wonderful pub in the heart of the Jordaan.

Bad music, messy and small expensive beer glasses from the 90s and still asking for 3.50!!

The doorman decides whether you're allowed in and how many people are in the room. Once inside, it was very crowded, but pleasant. My wife went outside for a smoke and the doorman wouldn't let me back in because he thought she was drunk. End of a pleasant evening, doorman, full of chuckles.

Arrogant people, we'll never come here again. We touch the lamp with our entourage for fun and a photo, and we're immediately thrown out.

What a yuppie place, nothing to look for here

We wanted to go in, but were thrown out before we were actually inside. I was cold so I wanted to keep my jacket on, but was then treated like a criminal. They could have politely asked me to take it off, but instead, I was literally grabbed by the scruff of the neck. Absolutely not recommended!!! (Unless you value minimal human rights).

Apparently, regulars aren't kicked out if they touch women inappropriately because they're "regulars." Arrogant staff think they're in charge because they work at a café in the Jordaan.

This is the coziest party bar in Amsterdam. Still in its original state. Lisa is one of the bartenders and is now also known for her Nollol podcast and all the other things she does on the side. It's so much fun to see. If you go to Nol, you're really coming for a good old-fashioned night out.

I went there last time with my wife. Great atmosphere! Afterward, I went there specifically with friends to show them this wonderful concept. We were arrogantly shown the door because my friend was drunk. Read: our friend is disabled, hasn't had enough oxygen to his brain, and walks a bit strangely. Admittedly, we'd already had a drink, BUT we were saving ourselves for Cafe Nol! It was a disappointment after having to tell the rude bouncer twice that we were really there to experience this wonderful place. Apparently, the tourists ruined it for us. What I mean is: Cafe Nol, top-notch security. But your security: try something other than Farmer Harm in a thick coat. Sad unfair treatment. Very unfortunate. Aunt Leen would never have been here like this.

Didn't have a nice evening. It's not what it used to be, unfortunately. Staff was more interested in each other in the crowd than in the customer. The bouncer was friendly, understood that I was looking for another bar. Too bad, used to have nice parties.

What a terrible cafe, nasty people both in front of and behind the bar

If you are in Amsterdam and want to experience the Amsterdam atmosphere, then a visit to Café Nol is an absolute must! Although the tourist has of course also discovered this pub (says the tourist himself). I could imagine that this is frustrating for the true Amsterdammer. But you get what you hope for: a full, cozy pub with a live performance in an Amsterdam atmosphere. The beers come in an old-fashioned stacking glass. Nice choice!

Unfortunately it is no longer what it once was, the staff is as worthless as the guests who are carried over horses

I expected a lot from all the stories, but inside it was full of yuppies and students, which did not improve the atmosphere. Also had to wait in line for a very long time.

First wait at the door for half an hour. We then had to hang our coats in the cloakroom. When we entered we could not find the cloakroom and were pulled out by our hair.

Very strange and unfriendly wardrobe lady. She deliberately wanted to charge us more for our coats. When we indicated that it was incorrect, she said that we should not make such a fuss about a few euros. Very special.

Pleasant!! Dutch sing-alongs in combination with nice bar staff and a very pleasant uncle Nico. Our evening was complete. Thank you Lisa!!

Not welcoming place. Don't spend your money there

Arrogant wardrobe that just didn't want to think about a lost key. I have been in a wardrobe for 4 years myself, but I had never tried this way. A huge shame as the rest of the tent is really great.

Rude staff refused us entry into a half full bar as they claimed it was at capacity and for locals only. We have been living in Amsterdam for over 3 years so hoped we would be accepted as locals by now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Avoid like the plague. For the number of instances of physical abuse against customers, it is wild this place is still operational.

Very bad and unfriendly staff, strange door policy and aggressive atmosphere everywhere.

Security guard abusing women blatantly. We walked into the bar not knowing what was going on and the security guard pushed and grabbed me so hard I was flung off the sidewalk. One girl was trying to leave and he pushed her back into the bar aggressively not letting her leave and then started laughing about it. absolutely horrifying and can't believe this is a legit establishment. Needs to be shut down or doorman fired because that was scary for women. From the reviews, it looks like this has been going on for YEARS. Women are not safe here please be very careful.

Run by scammers, and actually not that good. Have been here at least two times a year for years and is actually never any good. Also high chance somebody is getting in fights with bouncers.

Always had a fun, murder evening

Seemed to be a cool bar when we entered, but quickly turned out to be a horrible experience. A staff member grabbed me by the neck and attempted to drag me out for no reason, but gave up when two friends stepped in. They were promptly kicked out of the bar. The bouncer then blocked them from going back into the bar to help me leave and when they stated how inappropriate the staffs actions were he stated “women who talk too much should be put in their place.” Talking to other Dutch friends, this place has a reputation of getting away with abuse of its clientele. Don’t go here if you’re not explicitly Dutch.

the lady with pink lipstick all over her face should work on her customer service, or even just basic manners. we were told at the door it was for 'locals only' - the doorman looked embarrassed and said it was because they were at capacity. she then served us the drinks outside but a really negative attitude - totally bizarre experience and the worst I have been treated in the 3 years I have lived in Amsterdam, as a local! 1 star added for giving us the drinks, and they were a good price.

Nice but full Amsterdam pub. Tip: weekend days are very busy, choose a weekday.

Nice as long as the regular guests don't charge money for the toilet

Unfortunately not a good experience. On a Saturday evening I wanted to come here for a drink with two friends, but the atmosphere was so bad that we didn't even go inside. When I went to open the door upon arrival, a woman (I assume someone who works there) asked in a very aggressive tone 'what I thought I was doing'. I realized there were two other people waiting to get in and indicated that I didn't notice there was a line. There was also an arrogant, aggressive response to this. We got in line, but it was clear we weren't going to have a nice evening here, so we left. In my experience therefore a place to avoid.

A boy had put something in a girl's drink, when she went to security to say something about it, the security responded in a nice, laconic way 'did you see it or did you think it'. Bunch of liars

Always a nice tent! Just a bit of a shame that you sit there all afternoon and suddenly have to pay for a wardrobe? Suddenly you can't drink anymore? A bit strange if you want money you can just say so... so hang up your coat for a fee and everyone will treat you normally again. Well, don't call me anymore for a while, strange practices.

It is a PUB and the most beautiful, as if you are at home in the living room. Wonderfully cozy and cozy, Thursday evening is the best evening, just with company.

After an evening at Ajax, we drove to Cafe Nol, security at the door, nice guy, hospitable and it was also nice inside. The singer could also sing well, we will definitely come back.

Great meeting point in the Amsterdam night.

Last night I was treated very antisocially in Café Nol. It used to be a very nice place. I lived nearby and came there often. Last night the experience was completely different. We came in with a small group of girls. It was very busy and hot and I can't handle that well (it makes me claustrophobic). While the rest are still handing over their coats, I turn to the girls who have already walked further inside to say that it is too busy for me and I am going back outside. While I'm trying to say hello, I feel someone pulling my coat, which I was holding in my hands, from behind. I reflexively pull back and turn around to see who is doing that. The cloakroom lady looks at me fiercely and points wildly at the “cloakroom required” sign. I say that I don't want to give up my coat because I'm going out again, and that I'll say goodbye to the rest. “Nothing to do with that” she snaps (I don't think she understood me at all). I try to explain that I don't feel good in the crowds and that I am leaving. Then she calls the bouncer who throws our ENTIRE group out! I don't know what that woman (I can't call her a lady anymore) had her problem, but I think she could use an anger management course. How can you give such a person such a job??? Totally unsuitable 👎

not sure, locals and Dutch are fine but if you go in looking foreign you'll get scammed. seen too many people charged 10 euros for the cloak room where as the rest are charged 2 or not at all. fun place but just can't trust it especially if you come as an expat .

An evergreen. If you are in Amsterdam and you have never been here make sure you do, on a friday or saturday evening especially.

Truly Dutch. A place filled with joy

Ein Muss wenn man in Amsterdam ist. Klasse Lokal, wunderbares Personal, inklusive Security.

Small but nice and the bar selection is big. The bathroom is small but fairly clean. The decor inside is. i w and I like the outdoor seating options.

Gesprek met de buitenwipper voor we binnengingen: -Eu..is dit een gewoon cafe? -Wat dach je anders dat het was!!?? -Tja..met die rode lichten enzo.. een #oerekot? -Nee nee. Dit is een van de bekendste cafés van de buurt. Heg was inderdaad heel gezellig!

Het lijkt heel gemoedelijk. Maar er zijn een hoop dames die daar niet vrijwillig zijn. Eerst lijkt er niets aan de hand, maar later besef je dat er tussen een aantal dames iets niet klopt. Kijk goed naar de dame en maak oog contact!! Als je goed kijkt, maken ze je iets duidelijk en vragen ze om hulp!! Helaas was ik te laat, en kon ik door vriendjes politiek niet veel doen Toch hoop ik door dit bericht dat er door de eigenaren ; (als ze daar invloed op hebben) aandacht aan besteed wordt en hier actie op wordt ondernomen. Want ook jullie weten heel goed over wie het gaat!

Bij Café Nol heb ik het idee dat ik terug ga in de tijd & dat vind ik heerlijk en fascinerend! Het café is lekker “typisch Nederlands” ingericht. Je komt echt in een Nederlandse café terecht, waarbij er heerlijke muziek wordt afgespeeld.

Wij waren nog nooit in Amsterdam geweest en een vriend raadde me aan om zeker iets te gaan drinken in café Nol. Het was een avond om nooit meer te vergeten, we hebben ons fantastisch geamuseerd en heel leuke mensen leren kennen. Topambiance! Gr van de fam Van Dael uit België 🥳

Je kunt er gezellig drankje drinken met vrienden & familie maar je kunt geen versnaperingen hier krijgen wel erg jammer, het één maal zo . Maar komt veel jeugd . Dat maak het wel gezellig.

Very different, very very Dutch but 100% worth a/multiple visits. They play Dutch Volk/Partymusic, beer is cold and service is rapid! The bar is very very well maintained, there is no dust or any filth anywhere. Excellent maintenance!

Typical Dutch cafe with 100% dutch music ! Great people and best staffs.

Een legende is dit cafe. Daarom twee sterren ipv 1 ster. De blonde dame achter de bar van middelbare leeftijd met een zonnebril, zorgde niet voor gastvrijheid maar voor spanning. Ik bestelde 2 shotjes. Terwijl ze mijn shotje inschonk, vroeg ze mij wat ik nog meer wilde en ik reageerde daarop dat ik een moment nodig had om mijn volgende bestelling te bepalen. Ik kreeg een afkeurende blik. Dit was onacceptabel. Ik vertelde dat ik mij niet welkom voelde. Het antwoord was dat ze elke dag 110 man in de kroeg krijgt en ze niet de tijd heeft om te wachten. Dit terwijl het rustig was. Oja, en ze werkt er al "37 jaar, dus als ik onaardig zou zijn, dan zouden er toch geen mensen komen". Al 25 jaar bezoek ik barretjes en dit was de minst gastvrije ervaring in al deze jaren.

Leuke tijd gehad daar. En zeker niet de laatste keer.
