Slightly old school vibe to this pub, staff were friendly and ended up giving us a free round. Recommended if you rate being able to hear each other when speaking and don't enjoy places that try really hard to reinvent the wheel, only to end up being obnoxious and expensive with little to offer besides a self proclaimed unique experience, whilst somehow still only attracting broke teens who get into fights for no reason whatsoever.

Great bar with local friendly people to have a beer on draft. Does get busy and may be a bit tight inside.

Cozy brown cafe. Where activities are regularly organized, including sports. Regular activities include a jam session on the last Friday of the month; A live band every Saturday from 1700 to about 2000, I think this is an ideal concept for when I don't want to sleep all night but still want to hear live music. The stage is also sometimes taken by emerging bands. Keep an eye on the Pillars' agenda.

Come as you are, act normal, then you will act crazy enough and there will be room and a chat for everyone! This is a very nice second living room to meet your friends, opinions, weak humor and current affairs are shared and of course there are also very nice dances!!! It is therefore a regular occurrence during my rounds when I go into town. Big compliments to the great guys behind the bar!!!

Most beautiful pub in Alkmaar. Atmosphere unchanged over the years. Good service. Nice music. Always a band on Saturday afternoon.

Large beer selection. Some tasty IPAs. Bömskes for the grandson for free. Very nice service. Gladly again.

No food in the Pillars, but even if they did, that would be 5 stars. One of our favorite places to go out for a drink. 40 plus audience. Saturday afternoon often a live band. Very cozy and a casual atmosphere. Nice girls behind the bar.

Living in Alkmaar for forty years. The nicest cafe, nice crowd, live music, manager and staff are great. I love coming there, it's my favorite café.

Cozy cafe. One of the oldest in the city center of Alkmaar. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good service. Many types of drinks, a draft beer, but also special types of beer are available. A bitter garnish or other small dishes can be ordered and prepared by the bistro "Delicious Nel" above the café. Where you can of course also enjoy a delicious meal after drinks. Go up the stairs and ask if there is a table available. Special furnishings. There is a lot to see on the walls and ceiling. You keep looking around. There is a delicious candy jar on the bar, where you can always grab something tasty. Even the dogs are taken into account and are very welcome here with their owners. Usually once a week on Saturday, there are different bands. Varied in music type. Ranging from jazz, blues to pop music, rock. You can also relax outside on the terrace overlooking the water. What can provide reflection, light and warmth. In short, a very nice place to have a drink or a small snack!

This café is so relaxed, extremely informative from well shoveler to professor, everyone is welcome in De Pilaren and feels at home and comfortable there. Very friendly and civilized staff. Good music from behind the bar, and every Saturday afternoon a long winter program with the best bands from the region with blues-related music. The long bar is 'dead ends row' for many regulars :-)
