How incredibly beautiful, and so much to see. What a wonderful store! And the nut apple pie. Luckily, I took a picture and enjoyed it for a long time!

What a great little shop! Among the antique enamel signs, curiosities, and advertisements from years gone by! I really enjoyed it here; the food and drinks were excellent, and the service was fast and friendly. I'll definitely be back!

What a surprise! We thought we'd just see a cute waffle shop, but inside, we were pleasantly surprised by a wonderfully interesting interior! It was like we'd stepped into a different world. And super cozy! It was a bit cramped, and we'd walked in at the busiest time. But that didn't detract from the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We found a spot to sit and thoroughly enjoyed the original menus and delicious tea and pastries. The staff were friendly and passionate about their business. I think this place is a real gem in the Netherlands.

If you don't miss the little shop, you'll be amazed. They were baking waffles right outside. Peeking inside, you'd think it was a little shop...a ​​candy store. But once you go inside, you can walk all the way to the back through the narrow hallway, where you'll be amazed. All the frills and all the different styles of chairs. A cute little place. We went here with Grandma and others. The walker barely got past...

A really lovely little shop with lots of tasty treats. The decor is nice, not large, but perfect for those who appreciate these kinds of gems on a day out. While I was there, many people popped in to browse, but I was surprised to see many people leaving without even sitting down or ordering anything. Even if you buy a small treat for the road, "buy something." That's the only way small businesses like this survive.

A place that invites you, starting from the lady at the entrance of the bar who offers you to try some dessert. The bar is small and beautiful and makes you feel at home as soon as you step in. The apple dessert, very delicious.

Small and unassuming from the outside, the interior features a narrow hallway with comfortable tables and a staircase leading up to additional seating. This place must have it's decor, the beautiful authentic interior and cozy atmosphere. But the delicacies are very disappointing. For a place that specializes in sweet pastries, the flavors and quality were very disappointing. We got the waffle cold/not freshly baked and the cannoli tasted way too sweet, chemical and not at all home-made but bought from a wholesaler or something. Everything was also quite expensive. But the staff was friendly.

Watch out for tourist trap!!!! Very cute decoration but Poofjes at €8.95 for ten... Way too expensive! (No price indicated) In terms of cooking it is moderately good, not crunchy enough and too dense. I recommend the Amsterdam poofjes on the Albert Cuyp which are €4 for ten.

A very special and unique place in Alkmaar. The building is a monument, taking you back in time. The selection of cakes is mouth watering. We chose the award winning apple taart and were not let down. Delicious and a huge portion. When in Alkmaar, this is a MUST !

Tourist trap. Food is nice but the server kept asking if we really want to share a dessert (instead of ordering one each). We stayed for last than 20 min but the lady came at least few times to ask if we are done - seems that they just want to have a quick turnaround with the customers. Also be careful of the bill - no itemised bill and the lady overcharged us by €15! Would avoid this place.

Wat een pareltje is Sweet Antiques!! By far het mooiste koffiehuis van Alkmaar. Heerlijke, verse zelfgemaakte producten, met oneindige keuzes. Super sfeervolle en knusse zaak en gastvrouw Esther zorgt voor persoonlijke aandacht. We komen zeker terug!!!

Incredibly cute little café with lots of impressive little things to discover. We had on September 27th. The bad luck of experiencing rain, storms and then a power outage in the city. Nevertheless, we were warmly invited in. And wonderful, homemade pastries and tea were served. We have never dined so comfortably by candlelight. We can absolutely recommend Sweet Antiques.

Delicious apple pie! The owner just didn't interact well with her staff, which everyone could hear. Plus when I was waiting at the toilet with 2 others, we were not allowed to sit, even though there was plenty of room in the rest of the restaurant..

Zaterdag 23 november in de gezellige straatjes van Alkmaar werden we hier naar binnen gelokt door een leuke medewerkster en de heerlijke baklucht.. geen idee wat we konden verwachten natuurlijk, eenmaal binnen waan je je in een andere tijd!.. hoe geweldig en wat een lieve leuke meiden, je voelt je meteen op je gemak.. en verrassing!.. je kon er heerlijke koffie en superlekkere thee drinken met allerlei heerlijkheden… het was echt een kadootje… dankjulliewel, en wat is Alkmaar een heerlijke plek💋

De beste high tea! Wauw! En heerlijke taartjes en zoetigheid! De lekkerste theetjes, prachtig servies, de entourage is top! Bediening super vriendelijk! Wereldmiddag gehad!!

Yesterday we had a delicious high tea at Sweets Antiques, in a beautiful old building where nostalgia and a cozy atmosphere predominate. . This building is located in the nicest street in Alkmaar, Hekelstraat. You will be spoiled with delicacies and the service is friendly and spontaneous. Highly recommended.

Best cafe I have ever been to! Absolutely loving all the interior design. Most was origins dated back to the Middle Ages! Instantly pulled back to middle age times.. All staffs wearing beautiful red and white polka dot dresses. Smiling and helpful. Me and my boyfriend ordered too much! Apple cake, cheese cake, brownie with whipped cream, latte and espresso! All were delicious! We were sitting in the little chapel like room! Took more than 50 pictures! First time in my life! Never took that much of picture in a cafe! Will definitely visit again! Strongly recommending to everyone that loving sweets and antiques!

This is an insider tip😊 If you like it rustic and cozy and want to eat really delicious cakes or waffles, you should definitely go there. Simply a dream. Super tasty and great service. The menu is a tray of different types of cakes and waffles of the day. Great idea! It's really nice there.

As if time has stood still, you imagine yourself back in antiquity and immediately feel like watching autumn, Christmas and Potter films. Delicious pistachio cannoli. Ideal place to lose track of time and have a cup of coffee and something tasty, because that is available in abundance here.

Nice thing. Cramped and very busy. Nicely decorated with collected antique woodwork and enamel advertising signs. The coffee here is of course good and the cakes have an interesting flavor combination. As they say themselves, the apple pie is indeed possibly the best in Alkmaar, but the waffle is certainly not. The staff is very enthusiastic and almost overly friendly. All in all a nice place to have a (different) cup of coffee.

This place is a poster child for a charming and unique sweets shop of cannoli, two person apple Pies and so much more. It is a picture postcard you can eat! You owe it to yourself to stop by. The Apple pie is a city award winner - and it tastes fantastic! Will be back next trip.

It was pouring rain when we were in Alkmaar, but the sun spontaneously shone when we walked into Sweet Antiques. What an atmosphere, ambiance and 1-of-a-kind establishment :) It is very special here and you will be amazed. Just like you are in a museum and shop from grandmother's time (you can also sit upstairs). It made us very happy! Super friendly and attentive service and, among other things, really delicious (apple) cake! Large portions (the apple pie is perfect for 2 people and we were also very hospitably given 2 forks), all homemade and excellent quality. Be surprised!

Enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and cappuccino with a waffle and an apple pie, very cozy atmosphere, friendly service. Afterwards you have to pay outside the window because otherwise you will hold things up for new guests, who do not yet know what they will pay for all this. We got the bill €25, and we thought it was the wrong one but unfortunately it was ours. All in all a nice experience, but never again for this price.

Nice tent, small but funny. What was disappointing is that the question "is it possible to have half a cake?" was answered with "you can always take what is left home with you" so I did that and walked on with it... later a mom came and sat behind us and she We did get half an apple pie, so we feel like we were misled. In addition, working without a price tag is fun, but having to pay 24 euros25 for 2 cups of coffee and cake is quite a hefty price.

Drawn in by the open windows displaying sumptuous baked goods, but charmed with the old world interior upon entry. The menu is a tray of baked goods. Tea assortment was the specialty, but coffees were equally as abundant. Service was personable and impecable 💕 we felt as tho we were guests in their home. We sat upstairs on sofas via the tiny steep original staircase - Loved it!

Sweets and Antiques is an experience in itself! This afternoon I was with my family and for the first time I sat upstairs in the living room where you feel like you have gone back 100 years in time. Once a year I visit Alkmaar with my girlfriend and traditionally we prefer to start our annual outing at Sweet & Antiques downstairs in the confession booth :) Things like this should never be lost! The atmosphere is perfect, the coffee and something tasty to go with it just the same! Respect for the hard work and despite the crowds you still get a chat with a smile.
