Wow, top-notch cuisine in a nostalgic location. The nuclear power plant still exudes...top-notch service.

The food was great. Only, if you sit upstairs in the evening, there are a few construction lights aimed at the building that are truly irritating. We ended up putting a few chairs on the table by the window so we could eat normally without being blinded.

Perhaps this was because we had a set menu with a large group, but everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. From the dinner menu, we simply didn't get two dishes (chicken rouleau and ratatouille). None of the dishes served came with a serving spoon. Quite a nuisance when you have to share dishes like a small plate of steak tartare with eight people. We were supposed to be served mussels and fries, among other things. After the mussels and other dishes were finished, we were given a few boxes of fries, "as if after the meal had come to an end," among the dirty plates. The table was thus covered with plates containing empty mussel shells, now cold fries, and used plates. Then, dessert plates were also placed among the dirty plates. When we said this was absolutely unacceptable, the dirty plates and plates were taken away, along with our cutlery. When I asked how we were supposed to eat the tarte tartin without cutlery, I was given a single fork, which we had to share with the whole table. And we didn't get any clean plates. Then 55 euros excluding drinks is quite expensive.

Today we had dinner at this restaurant (there were five of us), this is not our first time, we really love this place for its atmosphere and delicious food. But today it was terrible! We ordered three Caesar salads, and they were disgusting to all of us - the egg was overcooked, the chicken was not fresh and dry, with a skin with feathers; black breadcrumbs and not a drop of parmesan. The fish of the day was not salty at all, fresh, as were the shrimps. We waited a long time for the waiter, who completely forgot about one salad, and one person had to wait while everyone else ate. Disappointment and a ruined evening (

I rarely write reviews, but I’m happy to make an exception for De Krachtcentrale – because it really is one of those places that does everything right. The building itself is impressive: an old power station that has been beautifully repurposed into an atmospheric meeting place. The welcome is warm and sincere. The hostess was friendly and really thought along. Such a personal approach immediately makes the difference. I was there for lunch recently and had perfectly poached eggs with avocado on sourdough bread – fresh, tasty and beautifully served. The sea bream with fennel and lemon butter that I had earlier that week was also highly recommended. On Friday afternoons, the roof terrace is a favourite: nice atmosphere, beautiful view and a nice mix of people. It is clear that this is a place where the region comes together – whether you come for lunch, to work or just to catch up. What makes De Krachtcentrale really special is the combination of different functions: restaurant, bar, exhibition space and meeting location. That's why it's always lively and there's always something to do - it feels like a natural meeting point for everything and everyone. A small point of attention: at busy times it can echo a bit because of the high ceilings. But honestly, that's part of the atmosphere of such an industrial space - it actually contributes to the liveliness and authenticity. Also practical: parking is right in front of the door and is (still) free, which makes it extra easy to drop in spontaneously. In short: an inspiring place that you want to share with others. That's why, as a very exceptional case, this review.

On a Saturday I went to the Krachtcentrale again. 15 minutes after entering I went to get the menu at the bar myself. Ordered a mojito and gin and tonic; took 25 minutes. Mojito had no sparkling water, too much sugar (not stirred) and way too much rum. Returned the drink, got a new one and.. no sparkling water again. It turned out that the 'sparkling water' had become flat. If someone complains about that - maybe it's a good idea to check that with the second one then.. in the meantime, 2 tables had their orders taken earlier, while they came in later. The food was tasty and arrived within the normal time. The bill included 4 drinks that we had not ordered. It must have been because of the Saturday... luckily there are plenty of alternatives nearby! We'll definitely go there next time.

We walked from the harbor to the center on a beautiful evening and ended up stranded in the Power Station. We chose the outdoor location between the pear and apple trees and were served by two friendly young ladies. As a main course we had the 2 person menu and a homemade eggnog dessert. It was really more than great.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch and definitely worth doing this more often.

Atmospheric industrially decorated restaurant. Great meal, no further details. We just had to wait a long time for the food to come through. Unfortunately, many inexperienced staff, but everyone has to start somewhere to work in the catering industry.....

A super nice building, nicely industrial and cozy interior. " The evening started well in terms of service. As it got busier, the service quickly decreased. The food itself was fine. The menu had a number of adjustments because a number of items were out of stock. After we had waited a long time for our food, it turned out that things had gone a bit too fast. Burnt sprouts, too dry fries and potato fries, etc. We had a nice meal, but not great. In our opinion, the price/quality was not quite in proportion. There were also a number of parties. These were cozy in terms of atmosphere and music. However, the music got louder and louder, which made it difficult for us to understand each other or the service. All in all,.. if I am with a friend who would like to eat here, I will go along. But I myself will not quickly make the choice to go here.

De sfeer is erg leuk, prachtig industrieel. En het allerbeste was de service, wij hadden echt een super vriendelijke en goede bediening aan onze tafel. Wat dan tegenviel, was dat overduidelijk het te druk was voor wat men aan kon. Er was een verjaardagsfeest op de entresol, een (huwelijks-?)feest in de kelder en een disco party in de zaal naast het restaurant. Het eten was van wisselende kwaliteit en kwantiteit. Diverse zaken helaas aangebrand, en 3 gamba's zonder echt iets erbij te weinig voor een hoofdgerecht. Drinken kwam ook erg laat door. Al met al best wat verbeteringen mogelijk. Wij weten echter nog niet of we dat nog een keer willen/durven te proberen.

What a great place this is! Service was top notch and very friendly staff. A cover band sang songs by Amy Winehouse live. I will definitely come back here again!

We were staying nearby and came across this by chance while out for a walk. Cool building, nice hostess who welcomes you, great decor. Atmospheric. Tough, industrial. Recommended, would go there again if I'm in the area.

Delicious food, in a nice atmosphere. Service was great, we were seated slightly away from our table. They immediately offered us a place by the fireplace, where we enjoyed the cote de boeuf warmly.

During dinner a mouse kept running around the restaurant. Staff did nothing about this. Incomprehensible and very unhygienic.

Leuke ambiance en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Minpunt was dat het veel te lang duurde voordat we als groep ons hoofgerecht kregen. Hamburger was prima maar voor dat geld heb ik elders een betere gehad. Te duur voor wat werd geserveerd en overgecompenseerd met teveel friet. Mijn verwachting is niet waargemaakt helaas.

Food was tasty, but not very special. I had the feeling that the controls still had to get used to each other, but many small things did not go well. But Charly Luske's performance made up for everything.

What an unique surprising and unexpected place in the town of Huizen (area Het Gooi) in The Netherlands. I was there for a special 'French style' party on the 14th of july (Quartorze Juillet!) lovely people in lovely outfits and perfect catering and service through out. I have to get back soon for a full course dinner to test if I can upgrade my 4 stars (based on the snacks and special event to 5! But I have a gut feeling that will come out fine too. Former power station, now a mix of coworking, meeting rooms and a restaurant. Very quick and well-trained service. Creative cuisine with a daily menu for soup, fish and ravioli. Nice: Anyone who wants to eat vegetarian, low carb or keto will also find what they are looking for here. And: The ice cream scoop as a dessert is also available individually. The sunset is worth seeing, the lush vegetation is always a joy.

In the alcove where we were sitting, I had the impression that I was sitting in the old toilet area. The sauce was too sour in my opinion.

Nice place, went for a drink, so I can't say anything about it for dinner. It is a charming place with friendly staff and a chic appearance. After 4 p.m. the place filled up with networking drinks.

Went today for my 29th birthday. Unfortunately not a good experience with the power station: Service very slow, they were busy preparing for a large group that came later and therefore forgot about us. Totsti ham cheese was misread by the chefs and the poached eggs were not poached. The chef probably let the eggs cook with too little vinegar while poaching. Very disappointed by the kitchen, and 20 euros for a portion of creuses oysters is really out of proportion. I have been working as a chef since I was 16 and it is noticeable that this kitchen is very profitable. 1 sandwich for lunch for 13 euros is really too much. 1 positive point was their hollandaise, which is why 2 stars instead of 1. Even when we arrived, we were not looked after.

Via een site met hotspots in het Gooi hier terecht gekomen. De plek is fantastisch. Een grote industriële hal maar super sfeervol ingericht. Bediening vriendelijk, vrolijk en correct. Leuke kaart, heerlijke gerechten en goede wijnen. Genoten en komen zeker nog eens terug.

Unfortunately, Cees' shrimp croquettes have been in the fryer for too long. Was hungry and devoured it before I could say anything. Tastes great by the way. So worth repeating.

Inmiddels van onze achtste lunch bij de Krachtcentrale genoten. Nog geen keer ergens in teleurgesteld geworden. Vandaag hertenbiefstuk en eendenpootje: wij kennen Gooise restaurants die hier niet aan kunnen tippen (maar wel hoge pretenties hebben). Het interieur is niet doorsnee en zal mogelijk in eerste instantie afschrikken. Maar het gaat om het eten.....!

Beautiful location and good kitchen, there is someone in the kitchen who enjoys preparing tasty and high-quality food. Service very attentive and hospitable. The old power station as a setting completes the picture and we had a nice evening. Price-quality very good, definitely recommended!

Verjaardagsfeest van mijn vader gevierd in De Krachtcentrale. Vooraf liep alles al prima met het overleg en de offerte. Dag zelf: alles liep op rolletjes, borrel heel gezellig, lekkere hapjes en de sharerd dining was naast erg lekker een groot succes! Dit zeker ook met veel dank aan de voortreffelijke en flexibele bediening.

Good place to eat in that area, great dishes and kind waiters

Met z'n tweeën vis gegeten. Geheel verschillend opgemaakte borden. Een bord met half verschrompelde huid boven op. Andere bord zonder huid. Die vis had een dik en een veel dunner deel. Dikke deel was niet goed gebakken. Was nog helemaal rauw. Na een vraag om de menukaart voor een toetje, werden we vergeten. Nog keer vragen en na excuus kwam de kaart. Komen we niet meer.

Zeer verrassend lekker eten. Beter dan op sommige chique restaurants en aan goede prijzen.

Bijzondere locatie, maar eenmaal binnen een leuk interieur, goed gestyld. Enkele weken geleden met mijn 2 zussen hier geluncht. In eerst instantie waren we de enige, na ons kwam er nog een stel en later nog 2 dames. Dat vulde de ruimte niet echt op. De lunch was lekker, maar jammer dat mijn keuze uit de warme dranken als uit de lunch op dat moment niet gereserveerd konden worden.. De bediening was goed, gezellig en behulpzaam!

Ik bezoek De Krachtcentrale al vanaf het begin en kan het zeker aanbevelen. Zowel privé als zakelijk een uitstekende uitvalbasis voor lunch of diner. De met name kwalitatieve keuken geeft samen met de persoonlijke service in een industrieel aangeklede sfeer steeds een aangename ervaring.

Gisteravond met een zakenrelatie hier weer een keer gegeten. De verwachting van mij is steeds dat ik gewoon goed zal eten, maar weer heb ik heel erg lekker gegeten, was de bediening fijn en zijn wij verrast door de lekkere burrata en de paprikasoep, en de heerlijke desserts. Oldtimer festival in Huizen wordt vanhieruit georganiseerd. Was erg gezellig.

It's a very nice place to have a drink. I was told that the food is very good and I tried it. Beer is cheap and good. Cocktails in general are good tho. Price is not too much for the service quality u get around 30 to 40€ per person.

An industrial structure that has been refurbished as a restaurant. The food here is absolutely delicious. The service can be slow at times. Loved that they also have some vegan options.

Prachtig, multi functioneel en met veel liefde door de eigenaar gerestaureerd historisch gebouw. De chef is bevlogen en kookt de sterren van de hemel. Dat doet hij oa met kruiden en groenten uit eigen tuin. (De honing komt van de bijen die ter plekke hun korf hebben!) Je moet hier dus zeker iets eten! Overige pluspunten: lieve bediening en zeer ruime gratis parkeergelegenheid, ook geschikt voor (zakelijke)groepen (kunnen hun eigen ruimte huren) en evenementen.

Mooi restaurant, niet echt een mooie omgeving waar het zit, soort bedrijfsterrein, maar zeker lekker eten!

Perfect gegaarde skrei. De gegrilde groenten waren een verrassing: geen suf struikje broccollie van de grillplaat, maar rode ui, meiknolletjes, groene en gele courgettes uit een houtoven en fluweelzachte aardappelkroketjes. En dat alles voor een keurige prijs. Wij zijn na dit tweede bezoek (paasbrunch) absolute fans. De Verdejo en Pino Grigio zijn OK.

Komen hier vaker dan de bedoeling is, echt ons favoriete restaurant. Kinderen voelen zich hier thuis en voor ons is het ook als thuis komen. Eten is heerlijk, bediening gastvrij en gezellig en als laatste niet geheel onbelangrijk heerlijke cocktails en wijn. Côte de boeuf, short rib, pan con tomate, steak tartare en de zoete aardappel frietjes zijn een dikke aanrader ( gewone frietjes trouwens ook). In de zomer kan je op het dakterras lekker borrelen en overheerlijke pizza eten.

Prima eten, leuke locatie, bediening aardig maar zou iets attenter kunnen zijn.

Jazz en ik hebben een haat-liefde verhouding. Ik hou absoluut niet van experimentele, abstracte jazz. Maar dit was geweldig. De hele middag en avond trouwens. Fantastische deal: voor € 10,- pp een concert en voor € 20,- pp extra, een heel leuk diner na afloop. Daar komen dan nog wel drankjes en dessert bij. Maar dan nog: het blijft een Fantastische deal. Allereerst het concert: Izaline Callister (zeker even nazoeken op Google) is een geweldige zangeres. Begeleid door een gelegenheids-quartet van fantastische musici. Ik kon niet stil blijven zitten. Zo vind ik jazz prachtig. Zeer persoonlijke invulling door alle 5 de artiesten. Dit ga ik zeker vaker doen. Aansluitend hadden we met 6 man een heerlijk diner. Goede hoeveelheid, heerlijk van smaak. Voorgerecht Pomodori, hoofdgerecht keuze uit heerlijk gekruide rollade van gevogelte of Ravioli van paddestoelen met een truffelsaus die niet overheersend, maar wél goed op smaak was. Geweldige middag! Fijn gezelschap, geweldige muziek, heerlijk eten met uitstekende wijn. Dit alles in een bijzondere omgeving, een mooi stuk industrieel erfgoed met een mooie geschiedenis. Dit is echt uit zijn!
