Café Restaurant Schlemmer in Wijk 28 Centrum

De prijsprestatie verhouding is niet goed. Bagel zalm was erg karig met een beetje zalm en geen garnituur. De Schlemmer salade was wat beter.

Have had lunch here several times and every time it is great. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Really recommended!!!

We wanted to have a bite to eat before the theatre performance. About an hour and a half before the start we asked if it was possible to just eat a starter and leave on time. That was possible. Unfortunately, our dishes arrived partly late and partly not at all. What did arrive was of poor quality and quite uninspired. The service did apologize several times, and removed our first drinks and the unused dishes from the bill.

Always nice to visit one of the first restaurants I went to when I started living in The Hague. Here I discovered the very delicious Schlemmer Salad. You have to try it if you haven't. The prices are average, the service is always nice and attentive. This historic place deserves a recommendation.

Ken Schlemmer ook al heel Lang . Tijd niet geweest . Vrijdag daar gegeten met 3 vrienden . Vreselijk slecht .sliptong werkelijk niet te vre .. , biefstuk slechte kwaliteit . Bediening veel te amicaal tegen mijn wat oudere gasten etc rekening voor 4 pers € 385 ,00 😢😢toevallig had ik 2 dagen later op zondag een borrel en hap van vrienden in bovenzaal ( gehorige oude zooi ) heb 2 happen gegeten van smakeloze soep en 1,hap van quiche die niet heel slecht was to put it mildly . Voor slagroom op appeltaart moest je de ober vragen en die kwam dan langs met een spuitbus 😢ik had plaatsvervangende schaamte voor mijn vriend die deze borrel gaf . Nieuwe kok en management heeel hard nodig daar !

I used to come here often and enjoyed it. Now: disinterested staff serves unfriendly from a meager kitchen.

İt is very very nice place that you can also have a dinner and also can drink with your friends. The workers are so cheerful and helping you a lot. I really enjoyed while spending time there.

The soup was extremely salty. The main courses were all cold and appeared to have been prepared at the same time as the starter. The glasses of wine were all poured in different quantities. And to top it all off, a mouse!!! walking through the restaurant. Furthermore, no compensation in terms of service due to the cold food. It was made again, but no drinks or anything for the long wait. We won't go there again.

Been here before, but it hasn't gotten any better. Quite impersonal and slow service and far too high prices. We asked if they had an apple point (which we saw in the display case) and later saw that the bill charged Euro 9.75. From now on, just ask for prices in advance to avoid surprises. Too bad about this once pleasant occasion.

What a worthless tent this has become. We have been coming there for more than 30 years. It was always a delicious dinner for an excellent price/quality. Last 2 times mediocre quality for the top price. A glass of schumkopke from Texel for 7 euros!

I had dinner here with a group. I already knew the place, a Hague icon. The atmosphere was good and the service top notch.

We organized a special gathering at Café Schlemmer in Den Haag for the Myanmar Water Reunion and my birthday party there yesterday and it was the perfect venue! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff were attentive and accommodating, and the snack was excellent. Everyone at the event, both Dutch and Myanmar friends, had a fantastic time. Thank you to the Schlemmer team for making this occasion truly memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate!

Todo era excelente comida n vino n cerveza hasta que fuimos a pagar la tarjeta de mi esposa se utilizó dos veces n rechazó dos veces, así que tuve que utilizar mi tarjeta de crédito que pasó por ningún problema, pero cuando llegamos hme en el Reino Unido había tomado tres pagos después de 6 semanas tratando con un caballero call patrick Mi esposa recibió solo tienen de lo que tenía derecho también. Es una lástima que el personal del restaurante no fuera tan amable. Julio de 2024

wonderful "secret garden" behind the restaurant itself. my mom had the asparagus risotto, which came with a green pea purée & peas, very delicious! i had a classic Flammkuchen, very thin, great bacon on top. very good service, we recommend! not far from the Escher and the Mauritshuis museums.

The garden, the wonderful music and the delicious affordable food. Take a holiday in your own area!

Friendly, cheerful, welcoming environment. Suggestive entrance with a corridor leading to the "Secret Garden" at the back. Friendly staff even if our order arrived after a while... (a cappuccino and a pepsi). As an Italian I also say that the decaffeinated cappuccino didn't seem to taste like coffee at all. However I will be back to try the food, it looked really delicious!

I had a delicious meal of Haloumi salad in their “secret garden” on a lazy Monday afternoon before going to Mauritshaus to see the Vermeer and other exhibits. A terrific and relaxing atmosphere and the food surpassed expectations. A wonderful salad of Haloumi, grilled peaches, tomatoes and asparagus tips in a light vinaigrette. Recommended.

Not good. Food overpriced and not fresh. The pastrami sandwich was a toasted sandwich with a pickle, for €15, the Schlemmer salad was made with old mixed lettuce. Disappointing experience. Nice garden though.

The oeufs benedicts could have been better: less vinegar when poaching and/or a little more hollandaise sauce. The atmosphere and service were also perfect.

Always had a good meal, but now both dishes are of mediocre quality. Eggs Benedict with hardened sauce. Salad sent back once because of rotten leaves. New salad drenched in some kind of salad dressing. Very sorry

Monday evening, dinner with 5 people. Two main courses were already sold out at 6:30 PM, leaving very little left. The pork was very very fatty, with very little sauerkraut and mash. It's a nice business, but it seems like they want to make money a little too easily.

Ik ken Schlemmer al vanaf de opening in het begin van de tachtiger jaren. De prachtige locatie is het enige goede wat gebleven is. De gerechten zijn het tegenovergestelde van vroeger. Toen was de keuken één groot verrassend en creatief feest. Daar is niets van over. De lunch was niet beter dan die in een gemiddelde snackbar. Ik vrees dat ook hier slechts het winstbejag telt. Ik hoop op een nieuwe leiding die gewetensvol weet te handelen en de gasten weer aangenaam weet te verrassen.

It has become very expensive here, unfortunately. Schlemmer remains a nice and atmospheric place to have a drink or eat. But I have never experienced €7.80 for a Karmeliet beer before. 🫤

Ideal place for a meal before a concert or theater

Delicious lunch. Nice place and cozy. Since the cafe had just opened, they were still talking to each other because it was not busy yet.

It remains a nice thing, but it is now becoming very expensive. €6.5 for a glass of Leffe and a bizarre price of €4.50 for a bowl of peanuts. This is not a consequence of inflation but causes inflation.

Vriendelijk personeel. Ik bestelde een salade om de reden waarom je een salade bestelt. Fijne gezonde ingrediënten. Deze Schlemmer salade bestaat uit alleen maar spekjes en drie blaadjes sla. Vroeger was dit een verfijnde en goeie keuken. Ben er meerdere malen geweest. Het lijkt alsof ze werken met hele goedkope producten en weinig zorg en aandacht. Kroketten ook slechte kwaliteit. Muziek verschrikkelijk ! De muurschilderingen van wat je er nog van kan zien blijven mooi !

Watery lobster soup, lukewarm and less tasty salmon. Bad service, too few staff and long waits. Not recommended.

Had drinks with work. Very friendly and fast service. Excellent wine. Snacks as standard. Location was a bit boring. A room with some standing tables on the 1st floor. It was nice that they had a JBL box. But otherwise little decoration.

The cafe restaurant is located in the center and there is convenient parking nearby. Judging by the fact that there were a lot of visitors, this cafe restaurant is apparently very popular in the city. But I was not delighted with the quality of the dishes. I ordered the signature salad. The salad was very tasteless and dry, and clearly lacked some kind of sauce. For main course I ordered duck leg. To taste, the leg was made from French canned food, which is sold in the supermarket. But the menu didn't say this. The pluses include very tasty cappuccino, live and real tea and friendly staff.

Pompous place and condescending service. Overpriced mediocre food is served on oversized plates, while the tables are tiny. The atmosphere is blah. I wish I kept walking to whatever was the next closest place to hide from cold that day...

Delicious lunch with great service. Also received the requested table on the stage. I continue to think it is one of the most beautiful restaurants in The Hague. Always a good atmosphere.

Gisteren at ik met 3 vrienden van Schlemmer. Het personeel was bijzonder vriendelijk, maar het eten viel mij zwaar tegen. Ik had coquilles als voorgerecht. Ze waren gaar, maar niet mooi gebakken en zaten in een generiek umami achtig wittig sausje, met wat laffe half gekookte paddestoelen. Alles heel 'nat' en niet lekker. Als hoofdgerecht had ik de sliptong in botersaus. Dit was vooral een heeel vettig gerecht, dat ook nog eens nauwelijks vis bevatte. Mijn tafelgenoten hadden meer geluk met het eten. De carpaccio, cote de boeuf, bisque en risotto waren uitstekend. Maar mijn gerechten vond ik Schlemmer-onwaardig. Echt jammer.

De lunchkaart is prima, met name de Flammkuchen. Maar de Schweinshaxe is niet goed bereid, dat wil zeggen als een soort halfgaar restvlees dat je met een scherp mes van het bot moet snijden. Terwijl het vlees er spontaan van af moet vallen.

We found what we were looking for a long time in NL - a cosy respectful atmospheric place, with good a bit old times music, with a good heating, nice coffee and cakes, welcoming and attentive stuff - all that we found in Schlemmer. The stuff was exceptional, really forgotten level of servic of such high class, great lobster soup and schtrudel. The music was finally not loud and very beaitiful. If you are a bit nostalgic and love solidness, coziness, attention from excellent stuff and quality time - Schlemmer is for you. We will definitely come back

Al jaren lang leuke locatie met lekker drinken en eten.

Redelijk leuke zaak, maar een kaasplank die voor 90% bestaat uit kaasstengels en kaasvlinders vind ik toch een beetje sneu

Wat was het hier vandaag een feestje om te komen lunchen. Wij komen graag nog een keer terug! Het eten was top maar zéker ook de bediening.(Een jongen die er net pas was). Ook de complimenten voor het oplossen van het probleem rondom de Wonderbox! Dank je Maddy!!

I tried their hot chocolate. One of the best i tried so far! The place has a warm and cosy vibe. The music is a pop mix! The staff were super hospitable and Tijs gave us the best service and experience.

Gezellig setting, maar matig eten

Ik kom altijd voor een glas wijn met wat lekkers. Goede en vriendelijk personeel helemaal TOP.

Ongelofelijk hoe slecht een restaurant eten kan serveren! De risotto was in een soort afwas water gemaakt met 3 paddenstolen. De andere hadden het ook niet best...De wijnen onbetaalbaar. Alleen de bediening was goed.

Is en blijft een geweldige tent, incl. goede en vriendelijke bediening. Bisque mag meer smaak hebben, verder heerlijk gegeten. Unieke tent, blij dat al het goede behouden.

De jaren na hun opening kwam ik hier vaak en was blij verrast dat ik hier zó weer m’n herinneringen instapte 😄. Ben gek om nieuwe dingen maar zo leuke en goede tent op niveau en in stand houden is ook heel gaaf. Ga hier zeker nog lekker dineren met de familie

Erg vriendelijke bediening. Eten is niveau eetcafé.

Het personeel is zo vriendelijk, niets lijkt ze teveel ondanks de grote drukte. De tuin is echt fantastisch, zo in de binnenstad. Akoestiek binnen is een uitdaging, zullen we maar zeggen. Met een volle bak is het lastig elkaar te verstaan.

Waren in opa's kaner op de 1e etage en niet echt een gezelige ruimte. Ook een beetje klein voor een borrel. Gelukkig is er een buitenterras. Helaas best fris weer dus daar konden we niet lang van genieten .

Steeds een belevenis bij Schlemmer, vooral de tuin

Schnuckeliger, versteckter Hinterhof. Die Kuchenauswahl ist klein, aber lecker und das Auge isst mit. Schön für eine gemütlich Kaffeepause.
