There was a worm in the Asian chicken… also ordered the croquettes and here they put mustard on top; if you don't want that, you have to mention it yourself. The staff don't speak a word of Dutch.

Poor service. We ordered 4 shots for €5.50, but they were delivered to the wrong table. We then had to ask those people ourselves if they wanted to pay for our new shots. That is not our problem and not our fault. Because that table refused to pay, they eventually had to leave. As a result, we had to wait over 20 minutes for our order. Mistakes happen, but don't make the customer pay for your mistake.

Despite the great music and tasty beers, I do have to complain about the very unfriendly staff. The lady in question might have been having an off day, but despite our attempts to cheer her up, she stuck to her unfriendly persona. She deliberately refused to help (at 20 beers per round), and when she really couldn't get out of it, the beers were audibly slammed onto the counter with a stern look. In my opinion (maybe I'm wrong), this is not the right way to provide service... a real shame, because the place looks great otherwise!! If Frans Bauer and his camera crew were to show up, it wouldn't surprise me at all; maybe a good idea for your new season of Banana Split!! Anyway, nice place, but the staff is terrible...

We (a husband and wife couple) regularly sit here on the terrace. Always pleasant, nice (friendly) service. And always pleasantly busy on the terrace.

It was very quiet today, plenty of space on the terrace. This week there is a special offer on craft beers for €4.25. The young man who served us was very friendly, but he was very slow. We waved repeatedly, but no one helped us. There were two other guests on the terrace, but they were busier smoking and hanging around.

We ordered nearly 300 euros worth of drinks and tipped 10% each time. We had pleasant conversations with the waiters. Then two pitchers were placed on the table that we hadn't ordered, which we honestly pointed out to the staff. We honestly stated that we had poured a glass from it, yet suddenly we were asked to pay for the whole pitcher. Later, we were told that we had two options: either the whole pitcher or a glass for €5. Even though we hadn't ordered anything and honestly stated that we hadn't. Personally, I would have admitted my mistake and kept the bill, but apparently, pride got in the way here. In any case, we won't be coming back here; you're quite the tough manager if you give us two options for nothing.

Nice outdoor seating, good food selection, although we found the drinks a bit pricey. The staff was very friendly. We did find it a little odd that we had to pay for our drinks upfront and then for the food when it arrived, but I think otherwise some people might just leave without paying, as it's a bit difficult to see all the seats from inside.

Nice terrace with comfortable benches, a parasol, and heat lamps. A lovely square where children can also run around and play. Good specialty beer special (€4.25). The soft drinks, on the other hand, were quite expensive (€3.80 for a Pepsi). The waitress dropped a tray of drinks for us and our neighbors twice. She was very polite and friendly, though, and handled it well. We had to wait a long time to order at first.

I recently went for lunch at Sjors en Sjimmie in Nijmegen, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, it took quite a long time before someone came to help us. After we were finally able to place our order, we had to wait a long time for our drinks again. The food then took even longer to arrive, which made the entire lunch quite frustrating. What made the experience even more unpleasant was an incident involving a staff member who accidentally spilled cola on my hood. Although a quick "sorry" was said, nothing further was done to resolve the situation or compensate for the inconvenience. That felt very unprofessional and uninterested. Additionally, the hygiene in the restaurant was not up to par. The toilet was very dirty, and the doorknob was loose and almost falling off. This did not give a good impression of the overall upkeep of the establishment. All in all, this was not a pleasant experience, and I would certainly not return here.

It took 45 minutes before we got the food, and the food was lukewarm to boot, and as if that wasn't enough, he also spilled my cola all over me.

We had a lovely lunch here together. It was incredibly delicious. We had the carpaccio, club sandwich, and nachos. You really get a huge amount. We both thought we'd have a nice lunch dish and nachos to share, but we honestly couldn't finish it all. Super nice terrace with delicious and plentiful food :)

What terrible service. Ordered tonic with a Citroën, and tonic was delivered, but the Citroën had forgotten. After calling someone twice, it was finally delivered, but without a tamper... A real disaster, and the drinks are pricey.

A charming location that immediately appealed to us, with a lovely terrace. The service was good. Unfortunately, we were told there was no Hertog Jan on tap. So, we'll have to try something else. Lunch: croquettes on toast, covered in a thick layer of lettuce, the worst of which was drowned in mustard. The mustard was also sour and overpowering. Tip: add mustard! You can adjust this to your own taste. It was heavy on the stomach, so we didn't eat it all. Worst lunch ever!

I recently ordered a rather pricey cocktail, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The taste was bland, and the drink didn't look like what I'm used to with this type of cocktail. It didn't live up to my expectations at all; it simply didn't taste good. I politely pointed this out to the bartender and asked if I could exchange the drink. Unfortunately, I received zero understanding: he was very confident in his own creation and refused to offer an alternative. He said the drink should taste like this, but as a regular cocktail drinker and bartender, I know exactly how it should be—and this didn't even come close. When I tried to explain that it wasn't personal, but purely my opinion as a customer, he reacted with irritation. It's a shame, because I come here regularly and expected customer service to be paramount, especially with a drink this price. From now on, I won't order cocktails with this bartender behind the bar. Fortunately, there are other places nearby, like 3G or Walkade, where you'll receive friendly service and get what you expect. My experience at Sjors and Jimmy's was utterly disappointing. It felt like ordering a steak "well done" and getting it "raw," only to have the chef tell you to just accept it because it's already cooked. I've never experienced anything like it before. It seems that at some establishments, service and customer satisfaction have given way to pride and profit. Fortunately, we still had a wonderful evening at another establishment, where the cocktails were perfect and the hospitality outstanding.

While I am hesitant to provide negative feedback, I must express my dissatisfaction with the service received. The waitstaff's performance was subpar. Despite two requests, the lime was never provided.

1 star – What a disgrace! I don't know exactly what's wrong here, but this was the final straw. The three of us went to this restaurant for—yes—three simple sandwiches. No five-course menu, no complicated order. And yet? We waited over an hour. An. Hour. And we weren't the only ones. Everyone looked frustrated, as if they were in a waiting room instead of a restaurant. When we politely asked why it was taking so long, we received no emotion from the staff. As if we were being a nuisance. After over an hour, we were told: "It'll take another five minutes." Ten minutes later? Still nothing. When we inquired again, we were told, flatly, that there was "nothing they could do" and that we couldn't get our money back. Why? Because you have to pay upfront. Well, if that's not a red flag, I don't know what is. Paying upfront takes away all the ambiance and makes the whole experience cold and impersonal. And seriously – even at McDonald's, you can get your money back if something goes wrong. Not here. No service, no compensation, no apologies. Just disinterest. We'll never be back. And honestly? I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting their time or money here.

They forget your order and then blame you. After we reported this three times we went to the manager Micha. What a ballsy guy he is. He says he has a solution by giving you half of your order and then acting like a kind of god. The customer is not king here

Unbelievably bad service. They don't speak the languages. Takes an incredibly long time while it wasn't busy. We sat with our family for lunch. It's just not right and there are very incompetent people working there. Furniture not good while where we sat we could sit fine. There is work to be done because this has the potential to be a top place.

Sat on the terrace. After payment we found out that the specialty beers were 3.75 until 8 p.m. That's why the lady we paid with gave us a refund of 7.50. By means of refund via my debit card. However, I look at my bill and see that the 7.50 has also been deducted. So I paid 15 euros too much. Emailed about this to find a solution but no response.

We zaten hier met 6 gasten tijdens de zeven heuvelen loop. Besteld iets voor 17.00. Bediening had wifi problemen maar de order leek goed te gaan. Daarna 30 min gewacht en kwam ze terug dat t niet goed gegaan was. Eten kon niet meer. Opnieuw besteld ook deze bon was niet doorgekomen. Zelf naar de bar gelopen en toen was het er met 2 min. Gelijk betaald maar geen compensatie gezien. Jammer leek een leuke tent.

When we first walked in, the atmosphere seemed okay due to the cozy decoration, but once we got there it fell far below expectations. We waited 20 minutes for staff to come and we had to pay immediately. We then waited another 15 minutes for 2 beers. All this while only 3 other tables were occupied. The staff mainly stood around doing nothing, was not friendly or motivated and did not radiate much positive. It's a shame that the service is so poor, because the tent is really nicely decorated and maintained. It was nice that you had to pay right away because you could just walk away after waiting half an hour for 1 beer. By the way, half of the staff didn't speak Dutch and you couldn't order from them either.

Dit bedrijf zit op een leuk locatie maar daar is alles mee gezegd. De bediening negeert je als je iets wil bestellen. Het eten is echt een aanfluiting. We hebben de microscoop erbij moeten pakken om de kip te kunnen vinden op de nachos, eigenlijk gold hetzelfde voor de saus. Het broodje kip was prima maar het brood met avocado was ronduit een schande. Een halve avocado op twee boterhammen, verder veel sla en wat mayonaise en een hard gebakken ei. Ik had € 1,75 extra betaald voor spek. Ik kreeg wel geteld één plakje!?! Op de kaart stond getoast brood, sesamzaadjes, humus, een gepocheerd eitje, etc. Niets van dat al. Het vierde gerecht kwam pas toen de andere al klaar waren met eten. Geen excuses of iets! Waarschijnlijk mikt men hier op toeristen en dagjes mensen want op deze manier bouw je geen vaste klantenkring op!

For the first time in my life, my language level was measured when I entered a bar, by the staff at the door. I have traveled to nearly 20 countries and entered 10s of places in each of them, but it is very painful to be exposed to such racism in the country I live in.

Unfortunately bad first experience. I wanted to have lunch here but unfortunately never got around to it. We already had the lunch menu. If not, we probably would never have gotten it. Everything I had chosen on the menu as something I wanted to order was not on the online ordering system. I don't know what the reason for this was, but I can't ask either.

The food was of good quality and very tasty. The waitstaff, on the other hand, doesn't understand much of it. The (English) service does more wrong than right. When the right thing is finally delivered, that is very nice. Otherwise a great atmosphere.

We came for a cup of coffee and 2 milkshakes. The coffee came quickly, but we had to wait 20 minutes after the coffee for the milkshakes, even though it was an order. The waitress didn't speak Dutch (shouldn't be a problem), but didn't understand the problem with the order. The problem was only solved immediately by the third waitress

It took a very long time before we were helped. And when an order was taken, people who sat longer were skipped. Bread for lunch was dry and tough and falls apart when cut. But pay full price for a sandwich. It's better to go to Bakker Bart around the corner.

We were having drinks at Hun's and had to pay 2.50 per day or 0.70 for the toilet, no problem. But it was only possible via pin which we did not have, very rude. Then the manager came who also responded very bluntly that they did not accept cash.

I am a lover of terraces and enjoy a relaxing time outdoors. I recently decided to visit Sjors & Sjimmie. Sadly I have to say that my experience was a mix of positive and negative aspects. The terrace itself offered a pleasant atmosphere and had beautiful views, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. However, my enthusiasm was quickly dampened when I decided to go inside. The smell of wood rot and mothballs was overpowering and made my visit to the café less pleasant. As for the beer, I was hoping for a refreshing drink, but unfortunately the beer was on the woody side. The taste seemed to be affected by what seemed like an overdose of wood flavors, which made my drinking experience less enjoyable. Despite these less positive aspects, I have to say that the staff were friendly and the service was generally good. The terrace itself offered a nice ambiance to relax, but the interior clearly left much to be desired. In the future I hope that Sjors & Sjimmie pays some attention to the internal odor problems and improves the quality of the beer. With these improvements, this cafe could really become a fantastic place for anyone who likes to enjoy the outdoors. I will definitely recommend this cafe to everyone!

After pointing out differences between the menu and the online menu, the response was, 'in reality it is somewhere in between'? After asking if they could ask the chef, the staff member in question seemed insulted. Orders arrived incorrectly with no offer of resolution or compensation. All in all an expensive cafe without expected quality.
