I really would like to say I love this place but I've had three instances where I was forgotten by the server. Are they being racist? I don't know but it happening to me 3 times? And even when the place wasn't busy? Yeah, makes one wonder. I'm Asian btw. Hence the race issue. Could be just poor ordering system in which case, I hope they improve it.

It is a real shame how we were treated. It was a sweltering Saturday. For the staff, too, of course. But when my Polish friends and I sat down at a table, the old boss's attitude was really like, 'What are you doing here?' That is not hospitality.

It was early in the day, yet the kitchen was open. I had a tasty, spicy goulash. Unfortunately, there weren't too many visitors.

Pleasant on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday is disappointing.

We wanted to have a drink with 12 people. There were 4 people sitting on the terrace and we were turned away…

Very centrally located and rather rustic. We had a beer menu for two to share, which was very good. The service was also excellent. The food was good, but I've had better goulash soups. Still, 5 stars.

I've been there 3 times, all 3 times a great experience, ate and drank deliciously. If you like craft beers, you're in the right place, and the service was amazing, top notch, thank you. I've had all the beer menus now and they were all incredibly tasty.

A real traditional pub. Friendly staff who work quickly and neatly. Tables are neatly cleared and cleaned after every guest. A great place to sit for a while.

Discrimination against larger groups! As a group, we were lost and searching for a cozy spot to quench our thirst. We arrived at the café in question and took a seat. The waiter came out and sent us packing with an iron fist. Unacceptable! For a large group, this was advantageous and would have been good publicity for the business. They missed out on this, which demonstrates a lack of economics and hospitality. Very sad.

We were turned away because we were a group of 18 people, even though the terrace was completely empty. It was incomprehensible and incredibly disappointing. They didn't even consider the situation or look for a solution. Instead of taking advantage of a great opportunity to accommodate a large group of guests, they simply chose to turn us away. This demonstrates a lack of flexibility and entrepreneurship. As a hospitality business, you're not only losing revenue but also making your guests feel unwelcome. That bad feeling lingers. For us, it's definitely not worth a second try.

A beer lover's paradise! A quaint pub with a great selection of beers. Many beers on tap. The Zuurvlees is okay, but in my opinion, overpriced. The service is quick and efficient.

Small but with a nice beer menu and cozy

This café was the very first one we walked into during our weekend in Maastricht. And it was a fantastic start. It was incredibly cozy with a live band playing, and there were so many great specialty beers on tap and in the bottle—we could hardly choose which one to try! We only wanted to go back yesterday (Monday), but unfortunately, they're closed on Mondays! Hopefully, we'll see them again next time! A great pub with mostly local Maastricht locals!

A staff member came to ask us what we wanted to drink, indicated we were playing pub golf, and was rudely reminded that they didn't participate. It would have been perfectly fine if he had said it differently, but that didn't happen. He also refused to give a reason.

If you don't all order a drink, you better not sit down because then you won't get anything here

Very unfriendly staff. Eight of us came for pub golf. We wanted to order four drinks and were told we'd be gone in five minutes. We were rudely refused and sent away. I'll never come here again.

It's very reminiscent of a traditional Dutch pub. The staff is very friendly. The tables aren't ideal for plate service. First time in Maastricht... well, you have to try the sourdough and Liege meatballs... and... it was delicious!!! Unfortunately, no photos.

Very cozy cafe, good service with expertise

We been here as short stop to drinks a few beers, beer variety was great both from tab and bottle. Also they had locally brewed and comercial. The waiter was kind and the service as quick, the view to the bridge is awesome. The atmosphere was cozy and warm.

Cozy café with about 10 beers on tap, but many more available in bottles. A good snack platter is practically a meal in itself. Friendly people behind the bar.

The beers are great! They got an assortment for all kinds of beer lovers from classic beers to fruitbeers and all sort of craft beers both from the tap as bottled. The only reason I can't give them a full 5 star review is that they don't have vegan food options. But even so the service was great the personal are knowledgeable and polite, fast service and a smile that seems genuine. Great view of the Maas as well and a calm and homey atmosphere the place to go if you just want to enjoy a good beer without that much noise that you often have with places in a big city.

If you really want to experience what it feels like to be treated as a guest, you should definitely go to the Pothuiske

We'd just come out of the Kiosk and wanted to take a nice picture of the Servaas Bridge from the sidelines when a heavy rain shower broke out. The staff at 't Pothuiske called us inside to take shelter, and we were in the mood for coffee. Win-win. Very cozy atmosphere. Fast service. Nice café to spend some time in. The terrace has a great view, and the service was quick and friendly. Delicious coffee! The restroom is down a few steps, but clean and fresh. The previous user had apparently had problems with the toilet paper and hadn't cleaned up. We almost stayed for dinner, but we still wanted to explore Maastricht. Who knows, maybe next time ☕️🍬

Situado justo a la izquierda del puente que conduce al centro de la ciudad que viene de la estación central (en el lado del centro de la ciudad) , este es el lugar perfecto para ir antes o después del concierto de Rieu (10 minutos a pie lento) . Comida y cerveza de estilo local. El Kasteel Rouge es increíble y se sirve en la copa Kasteel adecuada, muy apreciado! Principalmente asientos al aire libre en sillas cómodas. Aquí es donde siempre voy después del concierto de Rieu, se ha convertido en una tradición anual para mí, el final perfecto para una velada maravillosa en Maastricht.

Solo tenía 4 días para Andre Rieu y encontró este lugar la primera noche y volvió todos los días antes de la noche. También comimos un día. Personal super amable elección de cerveza brillante la comida era muy buena. Realmente disfruté de este ritmo mirando sobre el río. Hablé con el dueño, buen tipo. En general si en Maastricht recomendaría encarecidamente una visita. . además de nuestro guía turístico Ronan recomendó no saber que ya habíamos estado allí dos veces 🍺🍷

Service was awful. We had spend many evenings there and some evenings service was good. But on Sunday 13th we were there earlier and later that evening, male waiter noticed us earlier but ignoring us and served native customers arriving after us. So we changed to another place and we won't visit that place anymore. I would like to know what was the reason.

Las dos cervezas de barril IPA eran frescas y sabrosas, y el amable personal realzó el ambiente acogedor. Ubicado en el animado centro histórico, es perfecto para relajarse entre las pintorescas calles y lugares de interés de Maastricht. ¡La excelente cerveza de esta joya y su ubicación privilegiada la convierten en una visita obligada!

A very cozy spot. We sat on the terrace, but it's really cozy inside! The restrooms are really modern compared to the rest and very well-maintained! The entire staff was super friendly and helpful, all the drinks were served quickly, 🍺🍻 The beers were delicious, and there's a very large beer menu to choose from, including several beer tastings. The food was also delicious! Neatly served and delicious. We will definitely go back 👍👍👍👍

We discovered this café by chance and immediately sampled their wide selection of beers. We really liked the beer selection. It was very pleasant to sit there, and they even offered a large snack plate. A perfect afternoon at 35°C... We'll definitely be back.

Simply great!! Here, the host Coen and his team are the epitome of hospitality and service. Ambience combined with a delicious kitchen ensure pure enjoyment on both the terrace and cozy inside. Furthermore, the owner Coen regularly provides live music on the square, which makes it even more pleasant to stay at Het Pothuiske. Settling down here is immediately feeling welcome and imagining yourself on vacation. Excellent hospitality is in the blood of the owner and his team and you notice that immediately.

Fine beer. Food OK. Service very friendly and quick. Good location on the Maas cycle path and close to the center.

It was not busy and possibly closing time but all the public makes for new. The Neubourg beer was excellently cooled, possibly also due to the replacement of pipes and cooling.

Heerlijke sfeer, knus, zeer aimabele bediening. Het eten is goed genoeg. Het zoervleisj is perfect van smaak, maar er zit heel weinig vlees in. Idem dito voor de qua smaak sublieme tête de veau, veel saus met enkele blokjes vlees. Hou de kwaliteit en kwantiteit in ere!!!

Small, cozy with a very nice atmosphere and very friendly service.

I have visited this cafe many times before. Good beers on tap, quite varied. However, during our last visit there were four mice walking through the store. When several customers said something about this, it was simply waved away by the owner. I hope this will be addressed in the future. Too bad, we won't be coming back here again.

Ended up here during a pub crawl. Very cozy café with a wide choice of beers. Bartender knows his beers so he has tasted some new ones!!

Great café / restaurant with delicious beer, various coffee specialties and good food. The restaurant was full around lunchtime on a Monday, we sat at the bar for a few minutes and were then taken to the coziest table in a niche of the restaurant by one of the friendly and very attentive service staff. The menu offers a huge selection of beers, various dishes such as soups, baguettes and salads as well as spare ribs - a real insider tip that we recommend 100%!
