CAI Schiedam in Wijk 00 Centrum

Had a perfect poke bowl; all the vegetables were exactly ripe and fresh, the rice was perfectly cooked, and of course, a divine tuna sashimi. Highly recommended!

Delicious sushi, one type of which I have never seen on a menu before. I really enjoyed it. It was takeout, so I didn't get to experience much of the atmosphere; it seemed fine but the decor was quite simple.

I used to go to another restaurant often, but this was my first time here and it was even worse; the food was not good.

I absolutely love the sushi from this place. We order from here regularly and the rolls are always big and very satisfying. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent, and the service is outstanding every time. Highly recommended!

I had some delicious sushi. The dishes were not only very flavorful but also surprisingly and creatively presented. I chose the Chef’s Choice, which turned out to be an excellent choice: a varied selection with different flavors and preparations that were all very good. For the maki rolls, I asked if a portion could be made with avocado instead of salmon. To my surprise, I was even served an extra portion instead of a replacement, which was very thoughtful service. The shrimp roll was also particularly tasty, beautifully finished with crispy fried shrimp. All in all, a very positive experience, regarding both the quality of the food and the service. Definitely recommended.

We had fantastic sushi, but I wouldn't recommend eating there. They don't know what to do with you, and don't wear your nice clothes because you'll smell like a chip shop if you go outside. So, ordering and picking up or having it delivered is the best option.

Unfortunately, I don't agree with the good reviews. I ordered here twice; the first time was okay in itself. Not the tastiest sushi I've ever had, far from it. Even then, I could taste that it might not have been entirely fresh. So I decided to give it a second chance anyway, because sometimes a bad day is part of the experience and I was curious where those good reviews came from. Well, for me, that was the very last time. The delivery took longer this time and they were half an hour late. I opened the pokebowl container and saw the mango; I took the mango out anyway and took a bite... it tasted really weird. Like something was spoiled. Straight into the trash. The container with salmon nigiri... I thought maybe it shifted during delivery, that can happen. But when I opened that container, it looked like it had just been pressed in. The taste of the nigiri itself was fine, but certainly not tasty. I won't order from here anymore and would advise everyone against it; there are plenty of other places for better and tastier sushi.

Absolutely my favorite sushi spot in Schiedam! 🍣 The Cai's Choice menu is especially delicious every time; always fresh and delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly, and your order is always ready on time. The only minor drawback is that it's not yet a very cozy place to sit. But if something is done about that, I bet this will become the hotspot that attracts many more people!

I can only give a mediocre review. The food is good, but it's always late. When you call, the delivery driver is always on his way (but since it always takes a while, that's obviously not the case). It's frustrating that you can't count on it and that you're treated this way. Hopefully, they'll get this under control in the future!

I have been ordering from Cai for 2 years now and the food is fresh, neat, and tastes good too. Since I started eating here, I have never eaten anywhere else, because at other places you can taste either too much rice or freshwater fish✋️ At Cai, I really have good food!!! They are always on time

Best sushi I've ever eaten top chef

In our opinion, the best sushi in Schiedam and the surrounding area! After trying so many, we now always order here, even regularly. We'll never go to any other sushi restaurant again. Always incredibly delicious sushi; we can really taste the difference between CAI and other restaurants. You can tell they value quality. And the chef is very friendly and customer-friendly!

The reviews do not give a good impression of Cai Schiedam. Placed a delivery that did not go through but was written off. After 8 telephone calls and being told several times that the delivery person is on his way, nothing comes. Received rude treatment on the phone, such as just hanging up and an antisocial tone. Ultimately they say that the order will not arrive and we will have to ask for our money back when it is delivered to our home. With a family and children who need to go to bed, really bad service. Never experienced that before. Never again!!!!

We craved some sushi, but didn't feel like going to a sushi restaurant. We ordered from CAI, not expecting too much. Never heard of them before and thought it would be the same as other sushi takeaway restaurants (for example Shabu to Go, MrSushi, Hayai Sushi, Sumo, SushiPoint etc.). But we wanted to try anyway. They proved us otherwise. We were blown away by the quality. The sushi were well balanced, especially the rolls. The ingredients tasted fresh. The sashimi pieces were cut thickly and they were definitely not stingy. In my opinion, beautifully decorated too. When i order sushi from other takeaway places, it looks really sad. Which make it not worth it to order anymore. So we were pleasantly surprised how generous CAI sushi was. Absolutely love their scallop sushi. We will order from here again ☺️

Never disappointed with delicious sushi at Cai

Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the many positive reviews. I ordered a spicy tuna pokebowl and it was more like drap than tuna. It looked like tuna salad with spicy sauce. The rest of the pokebowl wasn't bad like the rice and soybeans. But it also contained other (somewhat random?) ingredients such as arugula, cherry tomatoes and mango. In the end the whole thing was not very tasty and afterwards it turned out poorly. Judging by the other reviews, the sushi appears to be good, but I don't recommend the pokebowl. Staff seemed friendly.

We regularly order sushi here and this place is our favorite (delivery or takeaway only, so I can't say much about the atmosphere). Favorite: flambéed tuna nigiri and beef nigiri Sometimes things go wrong (especially when it's busy and you have to wait a long time). But if you call they always solve it and they really do their best. You often get something as a gift and last Friday when I came to pick it up I even received a whole salmon-avocado roll extra). I asked if it could be done ASAP and they were much faster than the first time I could choose. If I could make a request, it would be whether there could be more tuna rolls (or 1 extra) on the menu (the spicy is often a bit too spicy for me).

My grandmother was always a big fan of Cai Schiedam. Her last wish was to eat delicious sushi and pokebowl one more time We ordered this on her deathbed, but unfortunately the order never arrived. After calling Cai several times, the delivery person fell first. My grandmother didn't have long left. We were assured that the food was on its way. Unfortunately, after the 3 minute ride, the delivery person was robbed. Unfortunately, my grandmother was unable to fulfill her last and went to heaven on an empty stomach

Thank you Cai!!!😘 As always delicious sushi, fresh, good taste (except the tuna nigiri), temperature, and friendly delivery person. The tuna was very white/light in color, had indicated (due to waste) NO ginger added twice and completely forgot the wasabi!!!

We have eaten at CAI before and also ordered. The food is simply delicious, it's a shame that the spicy tuna, hot sauce (1st photo) is used instead of real chili powder 😇 The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant and quiet. Only this time it was very cold in the shop. We ate with our coats on. The sushi tasted good though. The Cai's Choice is fun to order if you want to taste something different than what you always take. We reordered the beef nigiri that we liked best (2nd photo). Nice Chef and a nice, clean sushi shop for Schiedam! Hope it stays that way.

Ordered sushi with sour cucumbers today. The cucumbers have not been delivered, but the beans have. The sushi was all mixed up and didn't look neat. Furthermore, the rice was wet and the smell of the food was not pleasant. All the sushi fell apart. The salmon and tuna were tasteless and did not smell fresh either. Unfortunately we will never order from them again.

Bad sushi, taste of the (fresh) fish obscured by sauce. Service was ok and it looked neat. But my stomach wasn't happy about it later that evening. Not comparable to, for example, Hamachi restaurant. And after stories from the staff, I will never come here again. Not recommended.

There was no one else in the establishment except us, but we realized that she works mainly for delivery. We didn't have to wait long. Everything is straight from the knife, fresh. There were some questions, but we were told that this was new staff and everything was quickly corrected. The food is delicious and we were satisfied. I recommend ordering sushi here.

Ordered at 6:50 PM but still no food at 8:40 PM. It's coming, they say on the phone, but after half an hour still no delivery person. It seems wise to me that if you cannot deliver within a reasonable time, you should not offer it.

I just ordered somewhere else and that reminds me that the food here last time was really good, if something had to be crunchy it was really crunchy, if something had to be ripe (e.g. avocado) it was really ripe. Presentation was also good and for the same price. Good stuff

If you don't feel like working, stay at home, earn more. No courtesy, apparently they even seem annoyed to see you come in. And if we have to talk about quality, it doesn't exist, you realize it just by looking at it, both the place, the staff and the food. Never again

CAI is an asset to Schiedam. We moved from Schiedam almost a year ago, but when we want to eat sushi, I always come here to take sushi with me. Always fresh and incredibly tasty. Let alone that they are super friendly and always call when your order is ready or to ask about specific wishes. Thanks guys, you are our number 1!

Food ordered, food arrived half an hour later, it doesn't taste like a waste of money to order food here. And if you call them to ask where your order is, they respond late and you don't even understand them with their broken Dutch, certainly a letdown

I would not recomend ordering for delivery: It took well over two hours for the food to arrive. We were told lies (the food is on its way, 30 minutes later we were told it was still there but being delivered soon, which wasn't the case for another 50 minutes. In the end we received a poor excuse for why it was late.) The times I have eaten at CAI the sushi was fresh, well prepared and tasty, but after this experience I won't be eating there anytime soon. It is OK if you're busy and make customers wait a bit longer, just be honest. Very disappointing.

At 6:47 PM we ordered food for almost 70 euros. At 8:55 PM we receive a call that the beet will be delivered! What bad service!!!! Waited so long for our food, final score no food.

Nice and cosy sushi place. Very delicious and fresh sushi. Their beef truffel, salmon roomkaas and shrimp rock'n roll are a must. Go try them! And also is not a bad idea to have bubble tea with sushi. They have bubble tea too!

Never get bubble tea here. Worst boba ever in schiedam. Super expensive, bad taste and very little and put half an ice cube in it

My granddaughters had bought bubble tea from this shop. They only received 5 cent coins as change, while another customer simply received a note as change. They also had to pay 6 euros 20 while the menu stated 5 euros 70. I find this unacceptable.

So far the best sushi I have had in Schiedam. When I went to eat there everything was super fresh and with only one guy working the sushi was ready super quickly! I’ve been multiple times and have had great sushi every time. With them being understaffed right now I suggest dine in rather than take out. Make sure to try the bubble tea while you are there :)

The sushi is fine, but in the time it takes them to deliver you can sail to Japan yourself to get it there.

Delivery took almost two hours. Hot and cold dishes together in one bag; everything arrived lukewarm. No avocado to speak of in the salmon avocado roll. Overall really bland, mediocre food. Really surprised given all the other reviews. We were so disappointed.
