Cake du Fortin in Wijk 28 Centrum

I ordered two cakes, the first for my son's First Communion and the second for his birthday. The cakes were very soft, with a delicious vanilla and cherry filling. I highly recommend them. My family and friends loved them.

I just sent my daughter, and the lady was so sweet to her. And this is exactly why I've been coming here for years! I keep saying it: Cake du Fortin has the most delicious red velvet cake! ❤️🫶🏻

The cake here definitely does NOT disappoint! Unfortunately, it's too far to just order cake for a party, but if you live in or around The Hague, I highly recommend placing your next cake order here.

Delicious cakes. The red velvet has always been a favorite and the tastiest red velvet I've ever eaten. The pistachio cake is now a new favorite too 🙏🏻 The staff is very friendly and the value is excellent!

An amazing chocolate cake, accompanied by two delicious coffees, made with care and attention to detail. The place is small, but everything they serve is homemade... Delicious!

Really great and accommodating service. Ordered a last minute cake and the cafe was kind enough to make a birthday plaque for me. The red velvet cake tasted good but was dense and doughy.

The red velvet cake tasted like absolutely nothing. Pistachio and chocolate cakes were very tasty. That was also the coffee and latte. Nice service!

The owners of the store are very friendly, they help you with a lot of patience and kindness. We were helped by a younger woman eventually. I didn't think the prices were very transparent for a cake when we spoke to her. When we finally picked it up, the cake was very beautiful! Unfortunately, when cutting and taking the first bite of the cake, there turned out to be a long hair in the marzipan, coincidentally exactly where we took the first bite and which also affected our camera moment. On the one hand, fortunately, because we were able to prevent our guests from eating this or ourselves. I threw away a piece of the cake, which is a shame. I did not contact the store because my feeling was that it would be a pointless discussion and I thought that was a waste of time. The cake was okay, very savory. So it's really cake and not pie. Good to take that into account. Unfortunately, I had to throw away a lot because we couldn't finish it.

I am really disappointed with the cake I received . It was for my birthday and told them to write down “ Happy birthday Julia 21” and to draw red heart all around the cake and they just put some decoration aside for me to do it myself . Basically DIY😆. I have no words to say but just the price and the quality of the product Do Not Match. Never ordering from this place again and I suggest you don’t as well.

Very friendly people working at the place. I bought a chocolate cake and a pistachio cake for take away. The chocolate cake was super. Pistachio cake didn't have a pistachio flavour at all...only green color.

Ugly cakes in shop, long wait and only order in advance

I wanted to buy a birthday cake that day and found this store. I arrived five minutes before closing time and bought a super delicious cake!! Because it was about to close, there were only sliced ​​cakes and no round cakes. I bought different flavors. The birthday boy and his friends all said it was super delicious! Had a great birthday! The boss is super kind and cute. I’m so lucky to have found this store❤️

This cake is the best! They are very friendly and it is always fresh. I always buy my cake there. I just think it's a shame that they are always closed on Mondays.

So glad I found this wonderful bakery. One of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had in my life and I've had plenty! The cakes may not look fancy but the ones I had at least, were just so soft and moist, with the right amount of sweetness. The red velvet cake was really good too. I've not had that many red velvet cakes in the Netherlands but this one certainly hits the spot.

In a span of 5 weeks, came here 5-6 times to try different flavours of the cakes. I met the owner, her daughter & maybe the granddaughter as well. My favourite flavours were Red Velvet & Carrot Cake (!!!!!) The owners have been here for 21 years, and their cakes are delicious, moist, flavourful and innovative. I hope more people support their business, and I loved every bite I had here :)

I had the best chocolate cake that I have eaten today at Cake du Fortin. So light and not too sweet. It was divine! Just a note though the shop doesn't take Visa. Love, love, love!

I came here a couple years ago looking for a piece of Red Velvet cake, but since it was almost closing time, they didn't have any left... I was prepared to buy something else when the server, maybe sensing that I was a bit disappointed, surprised me by gifting me a piece of Rainbow cake! I was so touched I almost got tears in my eyes from happiness, I'll always remember this small but significant gesture. This nice memory came back to me recently, so I decided to write this to highlight the kindness of the people working in this place!

I love cakes here! I tasted red velvet, chocolatte and carrot cake so far and they were all so tasty and very fresh. The lady was super nice and very helpful to find a candle for my cake. I would like to taste the other cakes very soon. ☺️

Are you looking for the most delicious birthday cake?? You just find your place! My small bento cake was made the same day as I asked because it was urgent and a last minute request. It was so fresh and delicious that we were trying to not to eat everything the same day. The staff is very understanding and friendly!

One of the best if not the best place to get your birthday cake. We’ve been coming here for years and they’ve never let us down. Amazing decorated cakes with a delicious taste. The staff (family owned) are always very friendly.

I tried a delicious rainbow cake here last year. It tasted very fresh with lovely fruity flavours. The owner, an Aruban man , was very friendly and explained some wedding cake traditions from his country, and even gave a free little sample! Good vibes - highly recommend!

The cake was terrible. I ordered a cake with butter icing and they did not use real butter. The whole cake tasted of sugar and vegetable oil. For the prices they charge this is not acceptable. My guests disliked the cake so much that no one ate much and no one wanted to take some home with them it was that bad! I do not believe it is right to charge 65 EUR for a small cake and not use real ingredients. So disappointing. I cannot recommend this shop.

We ordered a last minute birthday cake. Red velvet was the only option available without pre-order. And it was their best-seller. It truly is. Worth the price. The best cake I have had in the Netherlands. Highly recommend. Next time, I will pre-oder and customize.

Amazing cakes. I've been coming back to this bakery for more than 10 years, getting cakes for different occasions, bdays, and special days. They can make nice designs to your needs. They are very talented and creative, helping you to make the best cake for your day. Besides the cakes, they have, in my opinion, the best red velvet I've ever tried in any country. It matches perfectly with a coffee or tea. Right sweetness with a little chocolate coffee bean on top. I really recommend taking it away and enjoying it in your very special place. Lastly, it is a small family business, making and delivering their products with love. You clearly see it in every detail.

Their best seller is the red velvet cake, according to the owner but we tried the rainbow cake and pistache cake and it was amazing! The coffee had a robust taste and was not lost in the flavour of the milk. Will be visiting the place soon!

Lekkere red velvet cake en regenboog cake gegeten vanochtend bij Cake du Fortin. De medewerker was erg vriendelijk. Jammer dat ze geen carrotcake hadden vandaag. Maar al met al, wat mij betreft zeker wel een aanrader.

Erg jammer. Normaliter heerlijke taarten maar tegenwoordig erg teleurstellend. Kwaliteit van de taarten zijn hoewel mooi versierd, niet oke! Smaakte naar goedkoop deeg.

Beste red velvet taart van de omgeving!! Smaakvol, niet te zoet, niet te machtig, niet droog. Eigenlijk perfect. Klantvriendelijke mensen, ze zijn erg aardig en denken mee over taart versieringen. Last minute mooie afstudeertaarten kunnen krijgen :)

Sooo amazed by the quality and the service. I ordered an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday cake on very short notice and it turned out beautiful! It looks just like the picture I showed as reference and they even added two beautiful looking figurines as a surprise. Absolutely blew my mind. I am so sooo happy with it!

Een hele leuke taartwinkel in het centrum van Den Haag. Je kunt hier terecht voor gebak, taartpunten of hele taarten. Maar ook voor een kop koffie of thee. Daarnaast maakt Cake du Fortin taarten voor speciale gelegenheden zoals kinderfeesten, verjaardagen en bruiloften. Eigenlijk is bijna ieder model mogelijk.

Heerlijke red velvet taart echt een aanrader . Mijn dochter heeft hem voor de 2e keer op haar verjaardag .

Pedí un pastel de graduación que estaba muy bien hecho. Ella tiene una gran habilidad para la decoración de pasteles y es muy creativa con diseños personalizados.

Een leuk gezellig winkeltje, met de lekkerste taarten. Wij kozen voor de redvelvet en de rainbowtaart. Waren beide heerlijk, en de dames waren ook erg vriendelijk. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!
