What a wonderfully cozy restaurant! We ate inside. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food was truly delicious, and the atmosphere was super cozy. If we ever return to Maastricht, we'll definitely eat here again. It's worth it.

Pleasantly surprised to find an Italian restaurant with gluten-free pasta on the menu. The only option is penne. I enjoyed my pasta burrata.

Looking for a place for a warm lunch in the center of Maastricht, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The interior is very atmospheric, and we enjoyed incredibly delicious pizza and spaghetti. Highly recommended!

Ate here last Saturday. I ordered tagliatelle with chicken and creamy mushroom sauce. The dish was dry and tasty. When the lady asked if it was good, I said it wasn't. So I was allowed to choose something else from the menu. Very polite, and that's how it should be in the restaurant industry! After all, you pay enough these days. My wife had eaten part of my pasta because her dish was small and not filling enough. Otherwise, they would have thrown it away anyway. Finally, the bill arrived, and I still had to pay for all three dishes. I did get a "student discount" of €11.50. They had given this because we had eaten part of the dish. Ridiculous, a dig at your customers. In the end, they tried to salvage it with two free shots, but for us, this lowered our 5-star review to 2.5. It's their own fault. I hope you're satisfied with the poor service here...

Maastricht was packed. I had to eat with 10 people. I couldn't have found a better place. Fast service, plenty of food, and deliciously prepared. Unlike others who cause problems when you come with a large group, we were quickly welcomed. No complaints. €230 for 10 people

Had an amazing lunch here, service was on point, everything was done with a smile , felt very cozy and at home. One of the best services I have experienced in the Netherlands. The food was great almost perfect actually. Good portion sizes, good price to size ratio. Would definitely recommend this place.

They have cannelloni! You rarely see it anywhere, except on the menu next door, which is owned by the same owner. So you can order from both menus. It's all delicious.

Heerlijk buiten gezeten op het terras om te genieten van het lekkere eten. De bediening werkt snel en efficient. Ze zijn ook vriendelijk. We vonden het wel prijzig, maar realiseren ons dat goed eten tegenwoordig erg prijzig is geworden. Desalniettemin kunnen wij dit restaurant van harte aanbevelen.

Not a nice restaurant, they advertise that they have Tapas, but in practice only pizza pasta, the staff was very much like come come come and do not look at what the customer wants.

El primer miembro del personal era lo suficientemente agradable, el segundo estaba enojado y agresivo, mientras que el tercer miembro nos levantó la espalda tratando de decirnos cómo hablar Inglés, que estaba rayando en el racismo. Una de nuestras comidas no apareció y luego intentaron cobrarnos. NO hay posibilidad de que volvamos allí a pesar de que la calidad de la comida era buena.

We had reservations for a birthday party for 10 people. We arrived a bit early but were seated right away. Service was inconsistent. Not everyone was friendly, and drinks and food often didn't arrive at the same time for everyone. This is understandable with such large groups, but sometimes there was a nearly 10-minute gap. We were all allowed to choose a different dish, so there wasn't a limited selection. There's a wide selection on the menu. All pasta and pizza options are gluten-free. The pizza was tasty, but could have used a bit more flavor. The dessert was delicious. The price-quality ratio was definitely good.

The welcome was very warm. However, the pizza had very little toppings and the crust was extremely thin. The price was high for the quality. And as they say in Sicily: 'Cu mancia fa muddichi'

We were walking by, actually looking for a terrace to have a drink. We were called in and given a menu, so we decided to eat right away. The pizzas were nice and light and thin, and my ravioli with ricotta and spinach was freshly made. The oven pasta was served with plenty of sauce and baguette. The food was excellent, the service friendly, and the terrace was also pleasant with a view of the market stalls.

Honestly one of my favourite pasta I have ever eaten - and the service was great too, we had our food (table of 5) in less than 30 minutes, even though there were a lot of other people. Really recommend.

I have returned to this restaurant many times for their gluten free pasta bolognese, which is delicious! I would recommend to anyone.

I had a wonderful meal here. The owner is really nice and customer-friendly. I'm from Rotterdam, and it was very hot. He showed me the way to the bus stop. I'll definitely be back.

Very nice staff, specially the lady with freckles on her face, food was tasty as well, we took lasagna and a’la carbonara, both dishes were good. (imo you also should serve regular carbonara). The minus was very limited space outside, was quite busy.

WOW. I am absolutely speechless. First of all I ate the best Pizza in years at this Restaurant and I will definitely come back. On top of that though, what stuck with me the most is the incredible service. I can’t find the right words for it. If I remember correctly our waiters name was Paul. Although the place was very busy he kept looking out for all his tables. We enjoyed his humor and exceptional service. We couldn’t choose which Pizza we wanted at firstbut Paul helped us decide and recommend us some Pizzas. THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHH

Second visit this afternoon, I recommend it!

We spontaneously decided to visit this evening. Thanks to the nice weather, we were able to sit outside. The service was very friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive, and the prices are more than justified for the quality. We really enjoyed it.

I sat here in amazement. There were 3 of us. A lady was very pushy and offered us a table. It was 2:30 PM and the menus were practically forced on us. The lady was continuously bringing in customers, while there was little space. Tables very close to each other. I got the ice tea with 1 ice cube, no lemon. We might have wanted to eat something but these staff (the ladies) were very noisy, not customer friendly and only out for profit. Very special to experience, but never again this tent!

TOURIST TRAP – AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We had made a reservation, and even though we arrived on time, we were left waiting for over 15 minutes at the back of the restaurant next to the cash register. While waiting, we witnessed things no customer should ever see. The waiters, with dirty hands (as they were wiping down tables with filthy cloths that are clearly never washed), were handling bread with bare hands, cutting it, and placing it directly on plates. We also saw them taking bowls of cheese from used tables and refilling them by hand without washing them before serving them again. The owner of the restaurant, together with a waiter, was eating openly at the front counter in plain sight of customers, showing zero concern for professionalism. The staff repeatedly asked guests if they wanted anything else, pushing them in an uncomfortable way. On top of that, we saw them moving people from one table to another to squeeze in more customers who were waiting outside. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Totally unprofessional and unhygienic — never going back.

I had a nice meal there. The only point I think is that we are far too close to other people. It was like we were eating at the table with strangers. There is also a staircase that I had to climb to be able to sit in my place under the stairs. That shouldn't be possible. That's just so more people can sit. That was a shame.

Unfriendly service. Pizza was burnt, the rest was okay. Despite reservations, we were repeatedly told to hurry up so that other guests could take our seats. Starters and main courses were served one after the other. You would almost be rushed. At one point we were loudly warned that other people were waiting.

If you make a reservation here, you will be put at the back to wait and then people will come and sit in the places you served without a reservation, which is great!

DON’T GO HERE!! This restaurant needs to go out of business as soon as possible!! - Illegal behavior towards employees - Commiting Fraud - Food is overpriced: 100% a tourist trap… just go to a small restaurant in some side street instead - Atmosphere is tragic!!! We were having a family dinner and literally two meters next to my 6-year old son, the boss started to shout at one of his employees agressively and using swear words. Not a safe place for kids!!!!

After a day in Maastricht we were looking for an Italian restaurant to have dinner. We came to Canatoneta by chance. Upon arrival we received a friendly and hospitable welcome. Service and handling was quick and with a smile. The food was delicious and tasty. The decoration and atmosphere within the restaurant was cozy and cozy. All in all, highly recommended! We will definitely come back here again!

The food was ok but as the place was getting fuller the waiter simply took our bags (which were on empty chairs on the tablet alocated to us) and threw them on the floor without prior asking or informing us. I understand the place being packed and them needing all the chairs they can get, but communicating to the costumer, especially before touching their things, should not be something ignored. For that reason and his rudeness afterwards we will not be coming back and wouldn't recommend. There are plenty other pizza places around.

Very tasty Mediterranean cuisine. Inside you can sit comfortably with beautiful furnishings. We had a very tasty fish appetizer. As a main course a trio of pasta and spaghetti vongole. For dessert the soufflé with white chocolate inside. Also a nice bottle of white wine with dinner. We will definitely come back to taste more of the menu.

We ended up here on our first day in Maastricht and I really can't recommend it to anyone! We arrived around 8:50 PM, the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM. It was quiet, but that's the case with every restaurant and we were hungry, so we sat on the heated terrace anyway. We ordered a starter and a main course, which were not bad, but it was not tasty either, we had to pay 100 euros for this, which was absolutely not worth it, but that was not the worst. Around 9:10 pm we were eating our main course and an unsympathetic Asian looking man (the owner?) came and shouted to his staff that it was "Finish". It was also mentioned that they had served 12 dishes that day (?). And so the staff simply started cleaning up the terrace while we were still eating. The chairs were stacked in front of us and the cutlery etc. was thrown on the table next to us. I have never experienced this before, no customer service at all for this ridiculous price! We didn't even eat our food and for the first time in my life I didn't leave a tip! People, don't eat here!! The photo is not of the delicious food, but of the (un)cosy terrace!

Okay, I'll start with the only positive thing about this case. The women behind us were very pleasant. But in that conviviality lies a great darkness. We talked about the fact that that non-Dutch looking lady constantly walked past us and almost stared into our souls with those pitiful eyes of hers. The atmosphere, as judged by my stars, wasn't great. There were a lot of weirdos who were carrying boxes, and they were constantly trudging in and out of the place, it made me sick, but I didn't say anything, hoping the food would taste okay, but it did. so not. The food was absolutely unpalatable. The man-looking 'madam' served me a limp pizza tonno (by limp I mean, the dough had the texture of a used condom) and I, I think rightly, had that mess sent back What a godforsaken thing, may the curse of Baphomet be laid upon this thing.

well, well, really a terrible tent. The food was mediocre at best, the service was incredibly terrible, the incredible amount of gypsies just walking in and out of the restaurant was unprecedented and completely unacceptable, the intolerable stench coming from them was unbearable and the price was much too high. Definitely don't eat here unless you don't want to eat anywhere else.

Well, ladies and gentlemen. What should I even start with? Should I be the first to talk about those gypsies who are in the middle of a move? It looks like a circus there. Or should I start talking about the meager meal served to me on this foggy evening? I experienced for the first time an embodiment of nihilism in the form of food, I believe, oh so eager people. There is a stink of gratitude in this country. I don't know if I'll ever find a place where you get what you pay for. If I had been placed here with a blindfold, my first guess would have been that I was standing in a car scrap yard somewhere among a bunch of Eastern Bloc criminals. But no, it was just a restaurant in the heart of Maastricht. The senses deceive people so often. See attachment for an accurate representation of what the pizzas look like there. Be warned. Something isn't right here, and I'm not the type to get upset easily.

We had lunch at CaNaToneta at the tables inside. The outside area had an unpleasant odor and smokers. The Tagliatelle Fruti de Mare was very good, but the Lasagne Tradionale left something to be desired. The negative point was that there was only bread accompaniment for the Lasagne. So I asked the attendant for the Tagliatelle bread. Some bread came and was charged 1 euro. Something we only realized later. I thought the charge was absurd.

NO RECOMMENDATION, look for another restaurant! The three of us had dinner in the evening. The service was ok, at least tried hard. The food is ok for a cafeteria but not for a restaurant. The pizza was good. The prices are totally exorbitant, far too expensive for what is on offer.

CaNaToneta is a real pearl on the bustling square in Maastricht. From the moment we walked in, we were immediately made to feel welcome by the friendly and attentive staff. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, with a cozy atmosphere both inside and outside on the terrace. The food was excellent. Every dish we ordered was carefully prepared and tasted amazing. The flavors were well balanced and the presentation was beautiful. Although there was a small error when one of our beers was forgotten, this was quickly spotted and rectified straight away without any problems. This is a testament to the excellent service offered here. After dessert, which was a real delight as a sweet end to the evening, we also decided to order a bottle of wine. We received excellent service from the owner's son, who helped us choose the wine. He first poured a sip to taste and asked if the wine was to your liking—just as it should be! This personal gesture made the evening even more special. All in all, our experience at CaNaToneta was excellent. The combination of the delicious food, the friendly service, and the great location makes this restaurant an absolute must for anyone in Maastricht. We will definitely come back here again! we had received 3 dishes Mozzarella pizza: with all due respect, there was almost no tomato sauce on it and the texture was like cardboard. I also got food poisoning because of this. We also had pasta carbonara and spaghetti blongnese, which gave people stomach aches afterwards and made them feel nauseous. the service was certainly not the best, they were very pushy and asked every passer-by if they wanted to sit there. In short: not recommended

We come here regularly because several Italians work there, a real Italian restaurant, but there are also tasty Spanish dishes. The service is top notch and the food is excellent. We never ate a pizza there. Prefer the good dishes!

We had a pretty good meal here. The pizza could have had a little more flavor but it wasn't bad. The pasta was delicious. The service was friendly, but always seemed to be in a hurry, a bit curt. But all the girls did their utmost, resulting in smooth service. The two-person tables are very small. On the other hand, for the first time during 2 1/2 weeks of eating out, we received a decently sharp knife with which you can cut pizza well. Sounds very basic, but it is not self-evident everywhere. And a limoncello on the house too!
