We had a lovely dinner here during our trip to Maastricht. Definitely recommended!

Large selection of dishes, decent but not extraordinary.

We went out for a quick dinner in the evening. The service was attentive, the food was decent but not 5-star. Salt and pepper were missing from the table.

Had a truly fantastic meal! The pizza was well-topped, nice and fresh, and not greasy. Pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant and prompt service. Definitely worth 5 stars.

We started with a tapas platter as an appetizer, and it was truly delicious. The feta, in particular, stood out: wonderfully creamy and full of flavor. For the main course, my wife chose pasta and I chose the lasagna. Both dishes were tasty, but neither really stood out. The lasagna was well-seasoned; I have eaten better, but certainly worse. The same actually applied to the pasta. The service was incredibly friendly and hospitable, making us feel welcome immediately. All in all, we had a delicious meal and a lovely evening. It is certainly a restaurant where you can sit down and enjoy yourself.

The service is very friendly, attentive, and professional. We had the carpaccio plate. It was very good, only the excessive mayonnaise bothered me. It's enough for those who love mayonnaise. I would come back here again and eat the same thing without mayonnaise 🫠 I highly recommend it. The dishes served to the other tables were very appetizing. The service and the food are excellent. They gave us a very warm welcome. The pizza had a thin crust, tasted delicious, and was crispy. The restrooms upstairs were also very clean.

This is a terrible restaurant. The pasta was soggy, like microwaveable food. It was 33 degrees Celsius outside, but the air conditioning inside was only set to 30 degrees Celsius. Don't be fooled into going in!

The prices on the board outside are lower than inside; we pointed this out, and the waitress indicated that the prices on the menu inside apply. We left after that.

The aioli bread was purely commercial: supermarket bread and not homemade aioli. The pizzas were okay, but not great either. The service wasn't great either; we're still waiting for the chili oil. The pasta was swimming in oil, and the shellfish were rubbery.

We recently visited and, although we were the last to be served, the staff was absolutely lovely. Special mention to the waitress who made the effort to speak to us in French! ☺️ As for the food, we thoroughly enjoyed it: the three of us shared a plate of nachos, followed by a pizza each, all accompanied by a nice glass of white wine. The service was quick and we left completely satisfied 🙂‍↕️. We had a wonderful time to end the day before hitting the road again. Thank you so much!

Lovely outdoor seating with umbrellas and patio heaters. Friendly service. The food is really delicious (we had pasta; the sauces were excellent). Prices are quite high, as is typical in Maastricht. Pizzas cost around €15, and our pasta dishes were €22 each. (As of April 26th)

A very pleasant place. We ordered pizza, pasta with burrata, and an Aperol Spritz—everything was excellent. The pizza was exactly what a good pizzeria should be: thin crust, crispy edges, and plenty of toppings. The vegetables were fresh, and everything was perfectly balanced. The pasta was a particular highlight. A smooth, creamy sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, and a large, fresh burrata on top. When you cut it, it spreads beautifully over the pasta—the flavor is very rich and creamy. The Aperol Spritz was also perfectly prepared: refreshing, light, with a good balance of Aperol and Prosecco. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is beautifully presented, and everything looks very appetizing. Definitely a place you'll want to return to.

A super cozy restaurant with a great atmosphere. We came with a large group of 18 and wanted two separate tables. They managed to accommodate this beautifully. The food is truly delicious. The service is lovely and friendly. We had a fantastic evening.

The best Italian restaurant in Maastricht and the surrounding area! A truly delicious and cozy restaurant! I've been here several times, and the food is always delicious. For dessert, I usually have tiramisu, which is highly recommended.

I absolutely loved both the atmosphere and the location of Canatoneta in Maastricht. The interior has a very warm and welcoming feel, making it a comfortable place to spend time. All of the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. The prices were also quite reasonable for the quality and the location. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

On December 1st, I booked a table for 15 people for December 31st. The reservation was confirmed by the restaurant shortly after. I called back a week later to confirm verbally, and was told there was no problem. On December 29th (two days before the date), my reservation was canceled, supposedly due to lack of space. It then proved impossible for me, at the end of the year, to find another restaurant with the same number of available seats. Avoid this restaurant if you don't want an unpleasant surprise.

I'm giving it one star, and even that's too much! We booked a large table for December 31st several days in advance. They called to cancel the reservation two days before! Completely unprofessional and unprofessional! So we're left with nothing!

Unfortunately, the staff ignored us. We had to get our own menus. It took 30 minutes before we could order, and after repeating our order three times, we ended up with the wrong thing. The food was basically okay, but nothing special. The staff seemed very stressed and in a bad mood, which was quite unpleasant. All in all, it was an unpleasant experience, and we were not satisfied. The price was simply not right.

Excellent pizza, as well as the drinks (cappuccino). Cozy atmosphere with a great playlist and helpful, attentive staff. Clean and nicely decorated. We ate very well and received a warm welcome. I also recommend their desserts (which unfortunately didn't have time to be photographed).

Looking for a place for a warm lunch in the center of Maastricht, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The interior is very atmospheric, and we enjoyed incredibly delicious pizza and spaghetti. Highly recommended!

Ate here last Saturday. I ordered tagliatelle with chicken and creamy mushroom sauce. The dish was dry and tasty. When the lady asked if it was good, I said it wasn't. So I was allowed to choose something else from the menu. Very polite, and that's how it should be in the restaurant industry! After all, you pay enough these days. My wife had eaten part of my pasta because her dish was small and not filling enough. Otherwise, they would have thrown it away anyway. Finally, the bill arrived, and I still had to pay for all three dishes. I did get a "student discount" of €11.50. They had given this because we had eaten part of the dish. Ridiculous, a dig at your customers. In the end, they tried to salvage it with two free shots, but for us, this lowered our 5-star review to 2.5. It's their own fault. I hope you're satisfied with the poor service here...

Maastricht was packed. I had to eat with 10 people. I couldn't have found a better place. Fast service, plenty of food, and deliciously prepared. Unlike others who cause problems when you come with a large group, we were quickly welcomed. No complaints. €230 for 10 people

Had an amazing lunch here, service was on point, everything was done with a smile , felt very cozy and at home. One of the best services I have experienced in the Netherlands. They have cannelloni! You rarely see it anywhere, except on the menu next door, which is owned by the same owner. So you can order from both menus. It's all delicious.

Heerlijk buiten gezeten op het terras om te genieten van het lekkere eten. De bediening werkt snel en efficient. Ze zijn ook vriendelijk. We vonden het wel prijzig, maar realiseren ons dat goed eten tegenwoordig erg prijzig is geworden. Desalniettemin kunnen wij dit restaurant van harte aanbevelen.

Not a nice restaurant, they advertise that they have Tapas, but in practice only pizza pasta, the staff was very much like come come come and do not look at what the customer wants.

El primer miembro del personal era lo suficientemente agradable, el segundo estaba enojado y agresivo, mientras que el tercer miembro nos levantó la espalda tratando de decirnos cómo hablar Inglés, que estaba rayando en el racismo. Una de nuestras comidas no apareció y luego intentaron cobrarnos. NO hay posibilidad de que volvamos allí a pesar de que la calidad de la comida era buena.

We had reservations for a birthday party for 10 people. We arrived a bit early but were seated right away. Service was inconsistent. Not everyone was friendly, and drinks and food often didn't arrive at the same time for everyone. This is understandable with such large groups, but sometimes there was a nearly 10-minute gap. We were all allowed to choose a different dish, so there wasn't a limited selection. There's a wide selection on the menu. All pasta and pizza options are gluten-free. The pizza was tasty, but could have used a bit more flavor. The dessert was delicious. The price-quality ratio was definitely good.

The welcome was very warm. However, the pizza had very little toppings and the crust was extremely thin. The price was high for the quality. And as they say in Sicily: 'Cu mancia fa muddichi'

We were walking by, actually looking for a terrace to have a drink. We were called in and given a menu, so we decided to eat right away. The pizzas were nice and light and thin, and my ravioli with ricotta and spinach was freshly made. The oven pasta was served with plenty of sauce and baguette. The food was excellent, the service friendly, and the terrace was also pleasant with a view of the market stalls.

Honestly one of my favourite pasta I have ever eaten - and the service was great too, we had our food (table of 5) in less than 30 minutes, even though there were a lot of other people. Really recommend.

I had a wonderful meal here. The owner is really nice and customer-friendly. I'm from Rotterdam, and it was very hot. He showed me the way to the bus stop. I'll definitely be back.

Very nice staff, specially the lady with freckles on her face, food was tasty as well, we took lasagna and a’la carbonara, both dishes were good. (imo you also should serve regular carbonara). The minus was very limited space outside, was quite busy.

WOW. I am absolutely speechless. First of all I ate the best Pizza in years at this Restaurant and I will definitely come back. On top of that though, what stuck with me the most is the incredible service. I can’t find the right words for it. If I remember correctly our waiters name was Paul. Although the place was very busy he kept looking out for all his tables. We enjoyed his humor and exceptional service. We couldn’t choose which Pizza we wanted at firstbut Paul helped us decide and recommend us some Pizzas. THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHH

We spontaneously decided to visit this evening. Thanks to the nice weather, we were able to sit outside. The service was very friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive, and the prices are more than justified for the quality. We really enjoyed it.

I sat here in amazement. There were 3 of us. A lady was very pushy and offered us a table. It was 2:30 PM and the menus were practically forced on us. The lady was continuously bringing in customers, while there was little space. Tables very close to each other. I got the ice tea with 1 ice cube, no lemon. We might have wanted to eat something but these staff (the ladies) were very noisy, not customer friendly and only out for profit. Very special to experience, but never again this tent!

TOURIST TRAP – AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We had made a reservation, and even though we arrived on time, we were left waiting for over 15 minutes at the back of the restaurant next to the cash register. While waiting, we witnessed things no customer should ever see. The waiters, with dirty hands (as they were wiping down tables with filthy cloths that are clearly never washed), were handling bread with bare hands, cutting it, and placing it directly on plates. We also saw them taking bowls of cheese from used tables and refilling them by hand without washing them before serving them again. The owner of the restaurant, together with a waiter, was eating openly at the front counter in plain sight of customers, showing zero concern for professionalism. The staff repeatedly asked guests if they wanted anything else, pushing them in an uncomfortable way. On top of that, we saw them moving people from one table to another to squeeze in more customers who were waiting outside. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Totally unprofessional and unhygienic — never going back.

I had a nice meal there. The only point I think is that we are far too close to other people. It was like we were eating at the table with strangers. There is also a staircase that I had to climb to be able to sit in my place under the stairs. That shouldn't be possible. That's just so more people can sit. That was a shame.

Unfriendly service. Pizza was burnt, the rest was okay. Despite reservations, we were repeatedly told to hurry up so that other guests could take our seats. Starters and main courses were served one after the other. You would almost be rushed. At one point we were loudly warned that other people were waiting.

El restaurante es acogedor, pero el espacio puede ser un privilegio entre algunas mesas. Sin embargo, todavía tenemos una cena muy cómoda y agradable.

If you make a reservation here, you will be put at the back to wait and then people will come and sit in the places you served without a reservation, which is great!
