Caricole in Wijk 07 Cadzand

A nice beach bar for dinner, but we had a reservation for 6:30 pm for four people. We were given a nice spot (we weren't escorted to our table). The menu is cluttered, and we had to search for many items, and it doesn't clearly indicate what goes with what. For example, before a main course, after a main course, it's not clearly indicated. The bread platter we had as an appetizer was delicious. The staff mostly spoke English. At 6:45 pm, even after our first round of drinks, we finished our glasses around 7 pm, and we waited until 7:45 pm for our drinks. We then asked for them. If the terrace was incredibly busy, I could understand this, but it wasn't full. We received our main course at 7:55 pm, and it tasted good. The steak was lukewarm but certainly tasty. The Wiener Schnitzel was very tasty, and the pan of mussels was definitely recommended. They play pleasant music and have a beautiful view!

Some of the staff are really unfriendly. It all takes forever and the prices are extreme. They don't even know Texel beer there... unfortunately no fresh products are used.

Actually a great located beach pavilion with nice staff and fast service. However, we were frustrated with the value for money of the food. 24.90€ for the fish & chips dish: The fries were definitely missing salt, the salad was manageable but tasty, the fish was unsatisfactory: an obviously pressed, rectangular piece of fish that was more reminiscent of a large, mediocre fish stick and was fried very greasy and the consistency was more reminiscent of chicken. I actually expect more for the price. The frikandels were also rather dry and not that appealing. However, the coffee was delicious.

Very attractive beach pavilion! Nice terrace and also a nice restaurant. The service was very friendly! Good food. Tip: Oma van Liere's ice cream sundae is really delicious, really something special!

Beach pavilion Caricole is highly recommended! A wonderful place to enjoy good food and drinks with a sea view. The menu offers something for everyone and the quality of the food is top notch. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly and attentive. Whether you come by for an extensive meal or just a drink after a walk on the beach, you are always in the right place at Caricole. We will definitely come back here!

You can't get any closer to the sea. Very nice service. Prices for snacks are ok, other food has a sea view surcharge. But still: gladly again!

Super tasty poffertjes. Nice staff with good knowledge of foreign languages! The view is of course a dream! You can park in the town.

Perfect for a retreat! Stylish restaurant. Prices a little higher but still fair. The staff is courteous. A children's play area and a changing table are available. We'd love to come back.

Atmospheric, friendly service and delicious food right on the beach

Disinterested staff, had to ask someone twice if we could order something. At checkout even 3 times that we were almost about to leave without paying. We had 2 lattes which were fine, but the dishes were a joke. 2 croquettes on bread and 1 pulled pork sandwich. The order came within 5 minutes after we ordered. So very fast. The croquettes were still okay, but the pulled pork was a joke. The brown bun looked like it had not yet been baked (cold) and the pulled pork (also cold) looked more like soup meat than pulled pork. When the waiter came to get the plates he asked if I had tasted it, I said no and that I have really eaten them better. He replied: "Well, that's possible." Too bad, hence a bad review

In contrast to the Piraat, the staff here is SUPER friendly, helpful, quick and always has a smile on their faces. We are staying in Cadzand for another 2 weeks and will definitely go here several more times. Thank you for the lovely afternoon and the nice service!!!

When the weather is good, very suitable for eating on the terrace, or just having a drink and enjoying the sun and the sea. I have known De Caricole since the late 1960s, when I went there with my father and mother and brother as day trippers. A lot has changed since then, but I try to remain faithful to this place, as in the past and even now today, the facilities and amenities are more and better than before, and I don't know what might change in the future, but as it is today, I can't say a bad word about it, Mvgr. Great location but expensive...

We had cycled 50 km and arrived literally 1 minute after half past eight. The kitchen closes at half past eight. We could still get a bitter garnish. And an expensive glass of wine. Nothing else was possible. We were further ignored. Not the best experience with this beach bar recommended to us.

Food was not appropriate for the price

Don't order nachos! It's better to buy a bag of chips in the supermarket and sit on the beach. The appetizers arrived much earlier than the drinks, so worthless...

Great location. But I didn't like the quality of the food. The ribs were tough and slightly warm. The fish, which was listed on the menu as +- 400 grams, was half the size and was deep-fried, not in butter. Good service and wonderful panorama.

Great burgers and fairly fair prices for the food. I find the drinks a bit expensive. But definitely a good choice and definitely one of the best here compared to the other beach restaurants.

Friendly, attentive staff and good food and drink. Located right on the beach with toilets. Wi-fi. Plenty of room and comfortable tables and chairs. All the staff speak English and are quick.

Fairly pleasant location. Too bad some of the waiters don't speak Dutch. And no French either because the entrecôte "seignant" that I asked for turned out to be well done. Too bad, because the rest was OK.

We were able to experience an unforgettable day on Friday because of you and the Brabant wish ambulance and I would like to thank you very much for this.

The most attractive beach restaurant in Cadzand. The others are all newer and look like a dime a dozen. The prices are also slightly friendlier. The staff sometimes also speaks Dutch😏 The food is just like the others.

Nice place, but investing in paying toilets with a revolving door wouldn't be a bad idea. A lot of people come to visit from the beach and the toilets are difficult to keep clean because of this. However, this is the only downside!

Only the direct location by the sea is excellent here. We were once again greeted in a very condescending manner by the service staff and will not be going there again in the future. There are more accommodating and nicer and cheaper pavilions. It was Tuesday around 4 p.m., half of the tables felt empty, both inside and outside, but there were reserved signs everywhere. So we asked for a free table for two people, obviously there is a difference here whether you want to eat or just drink something. The waitress, annoyed, runs away to look at the reservation book...looks for what feels like an eternity...in the meantime, a Dutch-speaking person asks her for a table...this person is immediately assigned a table, even though she is like us hadn't reserved... we have to keep waiting... then we are assigned a table, in the middle of the passage, and there is also a strong draft (it's 30 degrees outside) but it's still extremely uncomfortable. A card is unwillingly slammed onto the table. We ask again whether we can get another table, but are met with a lack of understanding. After looking at the menu with significantly higher prices than in all other pavilions and knowing from the past that the portions are not large, we decided to go somewhere else. We will not visit this pavilion again in the future.

A beautiful place with a spectacular view, good food and fair prices.

I treated myself to the burger from the manageable menu. This was quite okay, the portion of fries was below average in terms of quantity. 24 euros for the dish borders on a rip-off, the bottle of beer (0.33) for 6.20 euros easily exceeds this limit. It fits into the picture that my wife's Thai dish for €27 was practically meatless.

Food was ok. Portions large Service is either not enough or too unmotivated... to pay you first run after the waiter and then wait in line for 10 minutes. You're sitting in a cramped space, there's not enough space

The best thing first: fantastic location, excellent and friendly service. Drinks not cheap but acceptable. Food: Rarely seen finished products thrown together like this in a pile. I expect that in a fryer, but not in a restaurant. The only fresh thing I saw were the mussels. Unfortunately the fish and chips were so inedible that we complained. The employee then tried to get the boss to cancel it. Which was successful in the second attempt. Otherwise shrimp croquettes were okay, fries also needed to be replaced Really now, grab your gastronomic honor and at least try to bring the high-priced dishes to a fresh quality.

Have a bad meal and then the manager will also have a discussion with you. Other girls at the service were friendly, did their best and came to apologize. The dish was left alone and eventually it was taken off the receipt. The first and last time for us.

I have been coming to the Cadzand-Bad region for 40 years and a visit to Caricole is a regular occurrence. Whether for a coffee with apple pie, a pancake or dinner. Everything is well taken care of and delicious. For me the best beach bar in this region.

The hostess was very unfriendly. She arrived very slowly and took the order incorrectly several times. There were 9 of us, so we took a bottle of wine and poured it straight away. The lady was irritated and muttered "why do I put it on the table?!" The rest of the staff only speaks English, which was no problem for us but good to know. Mussels were not great: about a third had not separated from the shell. Relatively cheap and the mojitos are very tasty!

Good food, nice service, gladly again

Conclusion: Expensive ready-made food and vindictive service Fish ‘n’ chips ordered (€24.50 per portion) We got regular fries. This is acceptable outside the island. The fish was not fried in batter, but breaded like a Viennese schnitzel. You can't call this fish and chips! All ingredients including sauces are ready-made products; you don't need a chef to fry and fill them. That's what I told the wait staff when they asked me. Result: My wife got her second beer, mine was “forgotten”.

Cozy sitting on the beach, beautiful location, local interior. Very nice meal with the children. Unfortunately, the service was a real downer, really not friendly service from the older lady.

Friendly service, typical beach shack in Cadzand. You can go there, it's not exciting, but it's solid.

The food was super tasty. The only thing that bothered me this year is that you don't get sex on the beach in a long drink glass as usual, but in a martini glass. I found that a bit expensive, €10 for the fact that so little fits in the glass.

Previously this was a nice, bustling place with enthusiastic staff. Now they reluctantly come to your table after you've already raised your hand 100 times asking them to answer. No greeting, no interaction at all. Food is okay, not special and quite pricey. We used to come here so often, but after the second bad experience, we will not come back here again.

I've never eaten so badly. Fish is frozen food, burgers are ready-made meatballs, rolls are not toasted, carelessly slapped together. Bernaise sauce is like a thickened fish soup. Old chip fat. The manager offered us another dish, which we declined. We didn't want to sit in front of our plate disgusted and disappointed again. A drink on the house as compensation was ok. Nevertheless, the food was inedible and of poor quality. Never again.

We sat out there today and just had a drink. It was packed, so we waited a long time. Totally ok if the result had been good. S.. ordered on the beach for just under 10 euros, which I'm happy to spend if it's good. There was a puddle of juice in the martini glass with 6 ice cubes. So the maximum that fits in the glass is 0.1 minus the ice cubes. When asked if this was really a S.. on the Beach, the answer was “yes”. As a result, the waitress understood me. I said it was a joke, the answer was "have a nice day" and the waitress left...that was my experience...

Great beach bar, but not one I would personally come back for. We had a drink here with the family and ate some bitterballen after an afternoon at the beach/shopping. Nothing special about this place or the menu, the staff did not enjoy their work but it was fine. The pretzels on the hot chocolate were shoddy.

Nice beach bar, but actually not affordable if you are with a whole family. I think a bowl of fish soup with a piece of bread for 13.50 euros is quite reasonable. And I know, we all have to earn something, but I still convert into guilders and I shouldn't do that either Yet....

Everything was fine, the “little” soles were perfect. Very good service even though all seats were occupied. Super organized.

One of the beach pavilions of Cadzand-Bad, more focused on real tourism. This also includes smokers: ashtrays on the terrace table and thus an invitation for everyone to continue puffing, regardless of whether they are eating at the next table. Prices are quite on the high side for the portions. The menu also includes some special beers, including local breweries. We were there in the afternoon, so it's probably a better place to end up with friends in the evening.

You can sit very nicely by the sea and protected from the wind. The staff is extremely friendly, but unfortunately they are often absent.

One of the best pavilions in Cadzand. We have been coming to Cadzand to relax for a few years now. And a visit to Caricole is a must for us. The food is always great and the service even better. There have been the same employees for years, which in our opinion says a lot about the restaurant. We can only warmly recommend eating there and enjoying the friendliness and the food.

There were several people there and we were able to sit outside at first. Then we moved inside in the late afternoon. No problem. The very friendly staff helped us with this. In general: the staff was super friendly and joking. We didn't eat anything this time, but what was served at the other tables looked very tasty. We will be back.

We've been coming to Caricole to eat for decades. Food was very tasty and everyone was very friendly.

The food was excellent and the service was super nice. We were with our children half an hour before the reservation and that was no problem at all. Highly Recommended.

Eines der schönen Strandlokale in Cadzand Bad und wie alle mit wunderbarer Aussicht und Lage. Die Bedienungen sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen ist gut und die Einrichtung ist schön und einladend. Immer wieder schön.
