They have such a nice matcha and brunch plates. Also the stuff is lovely super polite, firendly and fast. You can tell they do everything with love and effort. Super recommended!

I had breakfast at a cartel Amsterdam coffee today and, unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. From the beginning, the service was very poor: the waitress showed an unprofessional attitude, seemed annoyed while attending to us, and showed no interest in helping or answering basic questions about the menu. When it came time to pay, the young man at the register didn’t improve the situation. His attitude was distant and unfriendly, with no intention of providing good customer service. Overall, both staff members showed a complete lack of attention toward customers, which made the visit uncomfortable. It’s a shame, because the place could have potential, but the quality of the service was so bad that it overshadowed the entire breakfast. I wouldn’t recommend it and I doubt I would return.

During our four-day trip to Amsterdam, we visited the restaurant twice and had the chance to try both the salmon and mohair meat dishes. Sertan, the owner and chef, offers delicious food. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it if you're in the center of Amsterdam.

The flavor is very high, the coffee is very nice, the smiling and sociable people warmed my heart especially in this cold weather, I really enjoyed watching the greenery at the table overlooking the backyard, I would also like to thank Sertan for his interest and attention ☺️

On Saturday, I went to this location from Eindhoven with my Turkish partner specifically to try the food of this amazing chef and the super sweet waitress. I had the eggs with salmon and avocado, my partner had the bacon. Everything is super fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend getting the Turkish tea with it. Truly fantastic!

It was a place owned by a Turkish business owner, with very good food and attention. They supported us a lot, it is definitely worth a visit. Cartel Burger is a legend.

We only visited there for one of their sunday events, jazz & tantuni. 1. There were no place to sit so they let us in to wait for an opening. But there were no place to stand either. Still they were asking for food orders even though we were standing there in a weird position. Worse thing is i asked for tap water, which is obligatory as far as i know, they said they were not serving it because people are coming and ordering only tap water to sit for hours… which is like a “tell me you are in turkey without telling you are in turkey” kinda excuse and one of the things we were happy we left behind (apparently not everybody). Oh and they charged 3€ for a small bottle of water. 2. The tantuni is very small by nature but it was around 15€. It is a street food which you generally eat a few because it’s very small and cheap. I was very excited about this place for couple of reasons, but i wouldn’t visit again.

Pretty good place for boozy brunch! Their cocktails are good and not overpriced. Food is delicious and the presentation is good. The place is cozy and doesn’t get extremely busy - you can find a table here for your Saturday brunch. I can recommend their “yogurt and egg”. Matcha and coffee could be a bit better though. Therefore I suggest to combine your food with the cocktail instead of coffee. And yes, I recommend the place !

I looked at the reviews about the matcha latte, and decided to go and try what a miracle matcha is prepared here, but unfortunately, the matcha latte was just a bitter powder with almond milk €4.5 ended up in the trash

Overall, I highly recommend Cartel Amsterdam to anyone looking for a great time in a unique setting. I'll definitely be back!

We are in Cartel almost every weekend. Fast and friendly service, presentation and taste of dishes, and a cozy atmosphere.

I was disappointed by this place. I saw the very positive reviews on google and I wanted to give a try at the coffee. I chose a double espresso and I was quite surprised by the price (3.8€) but I thought "ok it's gonna be some really good specialty coffee". However, it was disappointing because there was too much water, it was almost an americano. The taste of the espresso was therefore lost in all the water... I would not recommend for the moment if you just want to enjoy a cup of good coffee.

Lovely welcoming cafe with delicious food and attentive service. I had the Turkish Chai latte and the Crispy Chicken Salad. The Turkish Chai Latte is basically milk with vanilla syrup. If you like your chai latte to have a more intense taste, then I recommend choosing the classic version. The salad was lovingly prepared and that Chicken was, indeed, very crispy. Just as it should be. We were kindly given a small piece of cake on the house. I'd love to come back!

They are very kind people, the food is very delicious and seems expensive, the service is excellent. If you are very hungry I do not recommend coming here since it is more of a brunch type but very delicious.

A pesar de estar ocupado, el personal de camareros no eran más que sonrisas. Mujer con una bandana roja (siento no haber conseguido su nombre) se rió y se rió con nosotros como pedimos. La comida era excelente. Muy recomendable!

Absolutely lovely little restaurant, there exactly where we needed it. We had the taco's, both bacon and falafel and it was terrific. You can tell there is passion behind it. And for something so filling, we paid barely anything. So tip them properly because they are lovely people on top of everything else!

I visited this place on a very tired evening, looking to rest and refuel myself. The menu seemed doable for a vegetarian like myself and the prices were okay too. I had a flat white and an apple almond cake slice. The cake was priced at €4, and the coffee was listed as €3.50 on the menu, but I was charged €3.80 for it, though I didn’t make a fuss about it while paying and left without mentioning it. The highlight of this place, for me, was the private garden view. It was quiet inside, with only three tables occupied. However, Google says they close at 7, but on the day I visited, they closed at 6. They simply informed me they were closing in 10 minutes; I'm not sure if that's their usual closing time and Google is wrong, or if it was a special day when they closed early for some reason. The server and chef came across as typical straightforward Dutch people who don’t smile or chit-chat a lot. This is a place I'd like to keep going back to, as long as the prices remain decent, the service is quick, and the atmosphere remains quiet.

After visiting the National Museum, I walked over and had afternoon tea. The carrot brownie was a little loose but tasted pretty good, the Americano was very good, and the old lady ordered the Fuli White and said it was very good. The main thing is that the service is very friendly and the price is affordable. I highly recommend it.

I was searching for a quiet coffee place in this area of Amsterdam on a beautiful sunny Saturday midday, which might seem impossible at first. I was so happy to stumble upon this small place. I got a pulled pork baguette and it was delicious. The amount of meat and sauce was more than satisfying. The sauce is a tiny bit spicy, so keep that in mind (pepper). And it's easiest to eat it with your hands. 10/10 Latte macchiato could have been better, but I'm a weirdo who likes her coffee without any bitterness. 6/10 Overall, I highly recommend this place!
