Great employees and a nice atmosphere!

Delicious coffee, a fantastic selection of pastries, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, I don't think it's any more inviting after the renovations, and it's not as clean inside. It's a shame, that could really be improved.

Knowledgeable people. Friendly staff, plenty of drink options, even for those who don't drink caffeine or decaf. Vinnoiserie is truly top-notch, with some fans more than others, but all top quality. These croissants have a substantial filling instead of a blob of paste (like pistachio, hazelnut, or vanilla) full of sugar and palm oil. Good dough, interesting yet accessible flavors, and a beautiful appearance. Easy to reach, great opening hours. It's great that you can peek inside the bakery; the building just feels a bit sterile/cold for longer stays. In that case, something a bit cozier/more inviting would be nice. The walnut swirl is highly recommended!!! A real asset to Bergen op Zoom!

First tip I want to give is your coffee is really not tasty, too sour and strong, a simple americano should not be that strong, you really need to improve that. Secondly, you do not have many salty options, with bacon and cheese but not for example only cheese or something like that, sometimes the pastries are a bit too dry and with the sweet ones there is a creamy like filling everywhere, for example pistachio filling could be better, only pistachio paste instead of that creamy fake taste, especially that jam makes no sense in it, for the rest the staff are very sweet but when you get there it is so bad that rushing to order quickly etc also not nice.. you have matcha but no SYRUPs or mango / strawberry puree etc which makes it tastier, a shame

I've been a loyal customer since this place opened a few years ago, in the block across from its current location. Everything, absolutely everything, is truly top-notch. From the chai lattes to the pastries. I think I've tried every pastry by now. My favorites remain the passion fruit cruffin and the almond croissant. The only downside is that the good stuff is often gone around 1 p.m., and you can only get a croissant after that. Maybe I'll bake more :). I'll keep coming back, even if it's from Utrecht instead of Breda now ;).

A bit arrogant in their belief in their own café, we didn't enjoy it. But the croissants and pastries were really very good.

Very cute place, friendly staff, and truly delicious pastries. Wide selection of all kinds of pastries... the banana muffin/brioche is a must-try. A must-try for any trip to Breda! Get there early, because it gets crowded later.

Last week, my daughter and I went here for a meal and drinks for the first time. Wow, what a treat this was! The staff were so sweet and helpful. I initially wanted to go because there was no room inside. When there was finally room inside and we took our to-go items, we were given plates and my coffee was served in a glass. Now that's what I call service (it was quite busy, but you're not just a number here). The food was indescribably delicious, and the coffee was wonderfully made with love. It was an absolute pleasure. Thank you for the wonderful experience and your excellent service. I'll definitely be back. 🥰

Chatwick has become our go-to café and our favourite in Breda. We strongly recommend the almond croissants, big portions and a very well filling almond paste and flaky pastry on the outside (love the caramelised bottom). Overall, probably one of the best almond croissants we've ever had? Their pistachio cruffin and pain au chocolat, even though they were nice, didn't have enough filling to our taste. It's reasonably priced as for around 8 euros you can get a latte and a nice pastry. Beside incredible bakers, they are roasters and their coffee is the best in town: strong but very well-balanced. They do not charge extra for non-dairy milk. They also have a customer card that they stamp when you order coffee/pastry and you get 1 free coffee for every card you complete. It can get quite busy and the seating situation is a bit of a "free for all" as no priority for sitting is given to whoever is ordering first. Also, as it is not a big space and they have the ovens in the same facilities, when it's crowded, there is some condensation on its windows. However, it is definitely worth waiting to get a spot or dare to sit outside regardless of the weather. Their Christmas specials look yummy (tried some gingerbread/cinnamony roll and it was very nice). Edit (September 2025): After a while of feeling unsure of the café's latest changes (staff, space, coffee taste), this new refurbishment and the new staff (especially the barista) have made us, as long-term costumers, very pleased. The new space is much more spacious and doesn't feel cramped (making us reminisce with nostalgia the initial appearance of the café with the coffee bar). The coffee tastes unique again. The almond croissant never disappoints! Prices have gone up, though! But we gladly paid! Only suggestion for improvement is to cover the pastry counter with some kind of shield as it's right in front where people stand to order.

I ordered regular coffee with milk. I really didn't like it. After three sips, I gave it back and told them I didn't like the coffee...it was my first and last time here...

We tried the coffee and croissant, both very good. The atmosphere is simple, as is the service, but the product is nothing to write home about! (We're picky about coffee.)

Beautifully renovated, well-appointed coffee shop. Inside, more laptop users than coffee drinkers. We waited a long time for our simple order. The price is reasonable; you pay more for the experience.

Delicious coffee and very nice and friendly service! They've just opened in 's-Hertogenbosch. I wanted the matcha iced latte, but the matcha was already gone at noon, which is a real shame! We had the plain croissant and the mozzarella pastry, and they were also delicious. They're having a bit of a problem with fruit flies around the pastries, which you can see through the transparent counter, but I think that's the case everywhere this time of year.

Wonderful breakfast experience!!

I didn't think much of it. The location is nice on a small square, and the cakes are beautiful. I didn't really like the coffee/cappuccino; it was watery. The service was also mediocre. And the place was quite dirty, not clean...not really special.

Very nice little shop, very good coffee.

I was really looking forward to trying these luxurious pastries. To my surprise, by 2:00 PM the entire display was already empty. It's a shame they don't restock. So for the next people who want to go here, you'll have to get up really early.

Delicious coffee and delicious croissants!

After visiting this café four times, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s overrated. It’s usually very crowded and noisy, which makes it hard to enjoy the atmosphere. It feels more like a takeaway spot than a proper café where you can sit and relax. One major downside is the lack of clear ingredient labels. On my last visit there was no label at all, and the staff didn’t explain the ingredients well—I thought I was ordering something sweet with maple syrup, but instead received a savoury dough with bacon. I don’t enjoy bacon served that way, and when I mentioned it, they simply said “sorry” and ignored my feedback. It’s also difficult to tell from the display which items are sweet and which are savoury, as they are all placed together without clear separation. The service isn’t anything special, and the bacon/maple item was disappointing: a dry dough inside with just a bit of maple syrup on top and poor-quality bacon. The sweet doughs I have tried so far are better. The only things really worth mentioning are their coffee and the nicely baked texture of the dough.

Great pastries, friendly staff, but 1 downside: the matcha latte. Both iced and warm, tried several times, but it just tastes like milk. Please improve that and I will come much more often!

A nice thing. We ordered three types of pistachio rolls, and each had its own unique flavor. Really a little surprise!

Love love love this place in Breda. Very friendly staff & great pastry for breakfast. The coffee is also nice . The only thing is that since they moved place the toilet is now behind the kitchen which is not very hygienic to my option . They should open the wall and make access from the side so guests don’t pass through the kitchen . The old space was a bit nicer and more spacious and light but I understand that this space is for baking so it’s the best for them. I recommend the cruffins and cant wait for the fall to arrive so they will have the cinnamon apples ones 😋. Definitely recommend this place . Amendment 2024. 👏👏Place has been refurbished and looks great now with all changes and direct access to toilets. The space looks lovely and bigger which is nice . Also some seats outside for when the sun is out or the smokers . Congratulations to your improvement. ✨

Good pastries and decent coffee, but I had an unpleasant experience today while visiting with my best friend. At some point she went up to the girl serving behind the desk and asked for two flat whites, to which the girl curtly responded: “Just wait!” My friend walked back to our table and the girl behind the counter proceeded to gossip with her male colleague about my friend, which was obvious and rude. The girl had curly brown hair, half up, and was wearing cargo trousers. I can’t imagine a manager being happy with this type of staff behaviour. Very rude girl and she could damage the business.

Small nice place to have coffee. Friendly staff and nicely decorated. We had an espresso and a cortado. The coffee comes with a glass of water without us asking for it. That was very nice. I gave the food 4 stars but we didn't eat anything. Precisely because it was a nice experience, they get the benefit of the doubt 😉. I couldn't leave it open on Google reviews

The pistachio croissant was very good. The coffee, on the other hand, quite neutral for the price paid, was disappointing. At this price, you would expect a glass of water to accompany it. The entrance was very narrow and impractical. As for the heating, it seemed to be at a minimum: we had the impression of freezing in place.

It's a nice thing, but... It's quite draughty! That quite spoils the atmosphere, with 5C outside. Repeat risk for me is 0 if this remains the case.

Pistache croissant was not very special; for that price I expected some more filling and flavor. But other than that the croissant was freshly baked which is a plus.

Absoluut fantastische soorten koffie. Je waant je wat dt betreft in Zuid-Europa. Zulke kwaliteit koffie is in Nederland werkelijk uitzonderlijk. Ze roosteren zelf de koffie. Bovendien als bijlage bij de koffie Heerlijke zelf gebakken croissants (ook van uitzonderlijke kwaliteit) En heerlijke cakes en koeken, kortom smullen!!! Vriendelijke en snelle bediening, fijne plek in het centrum van Breda.

An amazing specialty coffee place with artisan pastries, nice service, urban decor, and great coffees to try! I enjoyed it very much! A wide variety of origins! It seems that the owner has a passion for it and that they all work with attention to details!

Noisy coffee shop. After 20 minutes, my simple order of a chocolate sandwich with cappuccino was finally served. And then also with the wrong sandwich. I think €8.50 is a good price. That was once but never again

My goodness the cruffin was amazing! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and well filled! Definitely my favorite coffee place in Breda, maybe even Brabant! The croissants are always great, actually all the pastries, and the coffee is great too! On any visit to Breda, a visit to Chatwick is indispensable. 🥐

The best baked goods in Breda. Seriously i am struggling to stop going there every time i cross the street. Nice place as well. The croissants and desserts are out of this world

The service was very good, you can deviate slightly from the menu. Only the Cafe Cubano was very sour. The Flat White had a special taste and you could also taste the sour taste of the espresso in it.

Savings system for loyal customers. “10th coffee free”. Saved 2 full cards with only matchas (I don't drink coffee). When I wanted to exchange the savings card for a free drink, that was suddenly not possible with Matcha. She said they stopped making it because it was “too expensive.” I don't drink coffee.. Very unfortunate for a loyal customer..

I've been here a number of times now. Came back for basically just the food and coffee. I just can't say anything about this. These are delicious. However, it will leave a bad aftertaste if you don't even say hello when you enter or leave. This didn't happen to me just once, but actually almost all the times. That's a shame because it's certainly a cool place. One where you would send people outside Breda. But as long as the attitude here doesn't change, I won't be back anytime soon and won't recommend it either. I really hope you do something with it! It's a shame for the beautiful concept you have put away.

It is difficult to find the entrance. This may possibly be indicated. The coffee is reasonable (no special choices) There was a wide choice for something tasty and that was certainly good. Not a pleasant atmosphere in the business. The tables are also not cleaned between customers (even though it was not busy and there are 2 of them. Not recommended

Return for the Pistachio Cruffin after re-opening. The pistachio taste is quite soft now. Cappucino is good at 3.80 eu per small cup. The tiny bread beside has a nicer taste. Pricy for self-order queue at the counter with cold service.

I was very curious about what the attractiveness of Chadwick's came from/could be tasted. So tried. Unfortunately, not my cup of tea. A bit overrated; very expensive for what is offered. Assortment was not very appealing; too sweet, too much puff pastry as a base.

Tastiest chai latte! If you close at 1600 and want to pick up a take away at 15:45 and that is no longer possible; then adjust your closing time to a different time. First I'll be there at 3:35 PM with cash, that's not possible. Picked up debit card and then this. Quality is important and service is just as important.

If you have a sweet tooth for pastries definitely drop by for a bite. I asked them what their speciality / most popular pastry was ; and they served me a pistachio cream-filled cruffin. Although it was definitely good, I felt the amounts of pistachios cream filling was somewhat overpowering to ratio. Somewhat heavier, so sharing wouldn’t be a bad idea ;) *please aware they have limited seating here, as the café isn’t big.

The coffee here is very well made. Beans are gently roasted are conservatively extracted, resulting in a cup of joe that is neither bitter nor acidic, leaving room for the mellow and delicate notes. Basically it is the opposite of how Starbucks coffee tastes like. Besides coffee, this place also has very solid food offerings: the Viennoiserie pastries sitting on the counter are so picture perfect.

Had a reunion here with a friend I'd not seen for 16 years! Perfect place in Breda to sit, relax, chat about the old days and of course enjoy their tasty treats including the vegan walnut swirl and the almond croissant (we were lucky enough to get the last one of the day) and delicious coffee which we repeated! Only thing missing is a bathroom, since coffee is a diuretic, we would have spend longer here and consuming more had there been these facilites. All in all nice cozy place!

The place is amazing! Enough tables, the menu is brief but fulfilling, decent variety of coffee options. The only minus is that alternative milk is only oat milk, would really like to see lactose free one. The pastry is divine, no other words needed

Chilled out and friendly cafe with a huge range of tasty pastries (recommend the cinnamon cake) and great coffee. Only downside is not a huge amount of seating (we had to get takeaway) but they’ve managed to get as much in as they can without it feeling crowded.

Uiteindelijk koffie in vele varianten, zeer uitgebreid assortiment in verse bladerdeeg gebakjes. Vriendelijke mensen en leuke sfeer. Probeer het en je komt er gegarandeerd weer terug.

Wat een gebak, heerlijk. Veelal bladerdeegvariaties, maar net even wat anders dan normaal. Zoals een Bredase bol (Bossche bol met puddingroom). De koffie vonden we persoonlijk minder, althans, wij vonden hem niet lekker in de Latté, ster en zuur. Het was eigenlijk meer een Flat White. Pittige prijs €4, maar het is dan ook wel specialty coffee. We gaan het gewoon nog eens proberen. Als etablissement ben je natuurlijk volgens de horeca-regels verplicht een toilet te hebben, maar dat je achter de bar langs praktisch in de keuken staat is niet erg fijn. De locatie is leuk, personeel gastvrij en heerlijk gebak, we komen zeker terug!

Goede koffie; leuk om binnen of buiten te zitten. Binnen zijn er pakweg 16 zitplaatsen. Buiten komen er steeds meer zitplaatsen en bijna allen in de zon. De mannen zijn bepaald niet commercieel maar juist echte vakmannen. De koffie en de pastry zijn buiten discussie goed 👍

A hip cafe on a sleepy street that serves a remarkable range of pastries and provides for a solid filter coffee experience. The staff is attentive and caring and where they lack in expertise they more than make up with hospitality. All in all a lovely cafe with good coffee and deserts and definitely worthy of an afternoon stop. For those who think about buying the beans: The range is more than interesting however I'd say that after buying the beans, some of them seemed a bit over roasted for filter coffee but the beans themselves were of good quality.
