What makes us happy? Well, an incredibly enthusiastic welcome at reception and (after a family evening) a final drink at the bar. Absolutely fantastic and a perfect start to Christmas!

We are frequent visitors to Ijumiden, and this was one of the best meals we've had. Despite our late dinner, our special request was accommodated. Thank you to the team!

Went for team company training for 2 days only, but we experienced Delicious food, cosy and private atmosphere and friendly staff, super chef and very clean. Thank you

This last trip I’ve been here nearly 3 months through my work but I’ve been coming here back and forward every year for the last 8 year. All the staff are very friendly and pleasant. I don’t know there names apart from Steph because he never seems to be away from the place😀😆 but I think they might know me from coming in nearly every night after work . I appreciate all the hard work and dedication they have working here and thank them all for being so nice and friendly. You guys are doing a great job job

After a canceled flight from Schiphol, we received a wonderfully warm welcome from Chef's Food & Drinks IJmuiden at the Hotel Leonardo. Due to the crowds, there wasn't room for food right away, but the bartender helped us with two drinks while we waited. A fantastic experience!

The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the portions were generous. Any food intolerances were easily accommodated. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of being served by Alberto, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Chefs Food & Drinks and cannot say enough good things about the experience. Alberto was attentive, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, making sure every detail was perfect. On top of that, his kind and welcoming demeanor made our dining truly enjoyable. It’s rare to find someone who combines such professionalism with genuine warmth. Leonardo Hotels hotel is fortunate to have Alberto on their team. He made our visit memorable, and I look forward to returning.

There were no signs indicating which type of cheese or yogurt to order. The coffee machine was very dusty. If the tables were wiped down, it would be better to sit at the next table so you don't get your butt turned toward you while you're still eating. The distance between the tables isn't that great. Otherwise, everything was fine and tasty.

A strawberry daiquiri was ordered and it arrived, but the staff didn't know how to make it and it arrived wrong. Unfortunately, it was inedible and had nothing to do with a daiquiri.

We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast was excellent. It had a lot of variety, and dinner was top-notch. We didn't have to wait long, and the atmosphere was great, too. You can eat inside or outside. Unfortunately, no one understands German. Google Translate makes it work. There was a good selection of cocktails.

We couldn’t stand to do another damn tour to another city who didn’t want tourists. We stopped here for local beer and couldn’t be happier. Great staff, great food, phenomenal beer. This was better than Amsterdam.

Very bad experience, was going to have a cup of coffee when one of the employees comes after me very angry that I came to have a cup of coffee. Show we are not allowed to have a cup of coffee is fine, but it can be informed in a nice way not to get angry. Before this me and my friends had coffee from the same place and there has been no problem. Very bad experience. Simply they need to work a little with the staff in the hotel.

Don't order the Entrecote unless you want an old Nike shoe sole. The sauce tasted musty and the portion was for one child.

We visit you 4 times a year. This time, too, we ate VERY well. On the 1st day Carpaccio was beautifully decorated and very tasty. Graved salmon was simply TOP! Entrecôte was cooked to perfection, SUPER! Cod was very good with a very fine sauce. 2nd day Sea bass (on request because I have a tooth problem) was also very good, and the sauce was also TOP! Everything was very good! Service. Friday and Saturday (January 10th and 11th, 2025) 3 people, 2 of whom knew exactly what they were doing. Attentive, friendly, and well-trained. The 3rd person, a young lady with very short hair, had to ask herself whether gastronomy was right for her. Awkward, poorly trained, didn't smile, and didn't fit the standards of "chefs." You don't stack plates at the table, and you don't leave a tablet with drinks on it either. You don't carry a tablet with three drinks on it with two hands either... Thanks "Chefs" and "Leonardo" team!! It was great to be with you again! See you soon.

Der sehr nett und aufmerksam. Unser Kellner wusste auf die verschiedenen Wüsche einzugehen und fragte aktiv nach Wünschen. Die Speisen waren gut, wobei das Burger Patty eine bessere Qualität haben könnte.

We chose this restaurant randomly to have a drink then we decided to have lunch here, it’s on the pricey side, but the staff is friendly and the food is good. Congrats to the chef.

The spareribs were great ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, with a view of the marina 👍 The service ⭐⭐⭐ The outdoor area only got two ⭐⭐ for cleanliness. It takes a while until tables in the lounge are cleared.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good. The 3 course surprise was a disaster. Food was lukewarm and tasted bad. The service was much worse. Waited 45 minutes for our drinks. The restaurant was empty, with 5 tables for us. Unfortunately, 3 service employees were unable to serve us politely and attentively. We were only able to reorder drinks once in 3 hours. The manager discussed it with us at the end and contradicted the incompetence. Very weak.

Good restaurant. I have been eating here almost every day for 7 weeks now because of my work. I still don't get bored of the menu. The chef knows how to create a tasty and healthy dish every time. The service is also excellent.

I'm very disappointed with the quality and service. I don't know who gave them the stars, but next time I'll take a closer look at what I book... Rooms are the worst... From size to furnishings... I don't know where I should start... Since we give one more star for food, the rating is only two in total...

Weekend of November 17 - Had dinner here which was included in our Social deal. We were a bit skeptical about the negative reviews, but now I can say that they are not justified, we enjoyed it. The portion sizes were good, the speed of preparation and service, as well as the friendliness of the ladies on Friday evening.

Open kitchen, ambience was OK in the middle of the room. Food (ribs, fish) was tasty and beautifully served. Even if not at full capacity, reservations should be made in advance. But it also works in the short term

Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, service unfortunately obviously a bit overwhelmed and/or not so flexible. For some guests, eating is only possible with a reservation, others came after us and were able to order food without a reservation. When asked, they were first told that it was fully booked and that everyone had reserved, then 2 minutes later that some had canceled and that's why Unfortunately, we weren't told without being asked that we could order food now. We sat there and had our drinks, only asked for it second time... there wasn't much going on, and there were always 4-5 employees in the open kitchen, and 2 people at the counter . It's a shame... (From around 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. a maximum of 10 tables were occupied.) We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, the reception and restaurant area is very nice, rooftop (as advertised, with the great pictures, unfortunately we couldn't visit it (probably only for events) because there weren't enough staff there, we unfortunately couldn't visit it either, as someone had to go up. The room wasn't really clean when we arrived (the floor was dusty and there were lots of small black hairs on the white tiles in the bathroom). , hole in one of the pillowcases, supposedly we got an upgrade to the lake side (grateful), unfortunately without access to a balcony, as we were then told on request that only the other room next door had access to the balcony. Too few sockets Unfortunately, the one on my side of the bed (actually for the night light) didn't work. The sauna had to be reserved in advance and the reservation was for two hours. The sauna was really nice and private! Breakfast was OK, but it was around 9:30 (breakfast ran until 11:30 on weekends) a lot of things were empty and it took a long time until it was refilled. On Sunday around 8 a.m. everything was still there! I ordered a cappuccino in the bar (portafilter) because I thought it would taste better than the one at breakfast, unfortunately that wasn't the case. However, the breakfast was very good! I can recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon for 6 EUR from the menu. Unfortunately, no one comes to ask if you want anything else or if everything is ok. The barmaid was then alone and preferred to talk to the only guest directly at the bar. They were kind enough to have popcorn at the front of the reception, so I was able to eat something tonight ;) I love popcorn. Unfortunately, the bar closes at around 11 p.m. even on weekends. There isn't much going on here right at the marina. It's a bit deserted and there's an industrial area behind the marina...

Very expensive 24 euros for a burger of very poor quality and small portions.

Wat hebben wij genoten ..vanaf binnenkomst tot aan vertrek werkelijk fantastisch! Bij binnenkomst werden wij zeer hartelijk ontvangen bij de receptie…verrast met een upgrade van onze kamer ..in een woord geweldig , prachtige kamer met jacuzzi en uitzicht op de zee! Wauw ..schitterend!! Ook op de hal de mensen van de schoonmaak heel hartelijk en vriendelijk allemaal….de kamer was schoon en heerlijk fris ..op de kamer ook een lief welkoms kaartje en wat zoete versnaperingen. Het etentje in de avond en ook ochtend was werkelijk heerlijk en ook hier was al het personeel zeer behulpzaam vriendelijk en gastvrij !! Een dikke 10 ..en wat hebben wij in dit hotel ons de koning te rijk gevoeld .. lieve mensen van het Leonardo hotel enorm bedankt voor deze gastvrije beleving ..wij komen zeker nog eens heel graag terug ! Wilt u in IJmuiden een overnachting of weekend boeken is dit hotel zeer aan te raden … gastvrij personeel heerlijk eten en op 150 meter van het strand ..perfecte recept voor een uitje om tot rust te komen !!

Lyxig hotell känsla med öppet kök. Mycket bra kvalitet på maten. Lite förvirring när vi bara dök upp och ville äta. Man ska nog förboka bord. Lite hög bakgrunds musik över hela serveringen.

Food was ok at best but I have never seen waiters as unhappy to be there as the ones they have here. The restaurant was not packed at all but their faces look like they just got through a war while they ask you what you want for dinner

Wir haben denn ersten Abend hier gegessen,da es direkt im Hotel ist. Ich hatte die Rippchen, die waren ganz lecker. Der Burger von meinem Mann war eher mäßig, mag auch daran liegen,das wir anderes Burger Fleisch gewohnt sind. Wir wollten nach dem Essen gerne noch was trinken aber es war keine Bedingung da, es kam auch die ganze Zeit, 1 Std waren wir da, keiner um zu fragen oder ähnliches. Sehr schade. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und modern. Die Preise sind schon ordentlich.

Dies ist ein sehr hippes und modernes Restaurant in dem Hotelgäste oder Strandbesucher sehr gut essen können bzw. den Abend ausklingen lassen können. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und immer zur Stelle wenn man es braucht.

Ik heb hier niet gegeten, maar wel gezellig cocktails gedronken en hier moet je heen. De cocktails zijn heerlijk en het interieur is prachtig. Volgende keer ga ik ook eten.

Sehr freundliche Servicemitarbeitende. Frühstück und Abendessen top - ausgefallen arrangiert und lecker. ... und immer mit einem Lächeln.

Nicht zu Empfehlen! Sandwich & Burger gut, wenn auch nicht mehr wirklich warm, die Pasta für Kids viel zu scharf.(Pasta wurde mehrfach an diesem Abend beanstandet).Aber Highlight war eine Vorspeise zu berechnen die nicht serviert wurde- Sorry aber das geht gar nicht! Rückzahlung gestaltete sich dann zwar Problemlos aber ……

Leuke plek om te eten, maar de prijs kwaliteit verhouding is volledig zoek. leek of het voedsel voornamelijk uit de magnetron of frituur kwam.(open keuken) Mijn gerecht was redelijk Maar Het gerecht van mijn vriendin was duidelijk ondergemiddeld. Zou het niet aanraden. Wel mooi hotel

Preis/Leistung stimmt hier leider gar nicht. Wir hatten Steak (Local Chef's Meat Signature) und die Fish & Chips. Das Steak war zäh und teils noch roh. Letzteres ist immer vermeidbar, wenn die Küchen-Crew ihr Handwerk versteht. Das Fleisch achien aber grundsätzlich keine schlechte Qualität zu haben. Der Fisch wurde in quadratischer Form serviert und sah auch sonst nach Fertigpanade aus. Geschmacklich hatte es auch nichts mit den typischen Fish & Chips zu tun, es war nur eine Beschreibung der Bestandteile. So leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Hamburgerfleisch ist leider aus der Tiefkühltruhe.

Prima gegeten op het terras met uitzicht op de jachthaven, Laatste avond dat je alleen buiten tot 20:00 buiten mocht eten. Enthousiaste bediening, broodplankje was goede keuze om de eerste trek te stillen, ik had daarna catch of the day (heilbot) was iets te weinig voor 27,- maar na het brood toch voldoende maar kekkere vis, gebakken aardappeltjes en heerlijke groente. Afgesloten met een kaasplankje en port, ook weer goed.

Gegeten tijdens ons verblijf in hotel, op onze kamer. Jammer genoeg waren de gerechten niet meer erg warm. Wel leuk dat het niet allemaal even standaard is, heerlijke tomatensoep. Ze doen niet moeilijk over eventuele aanpassingen

Heerlijk gegeten! Een gevarieerde kaart, met voor ieder wat wils. Klassiekers, maar ook gerechten met een verrassende twist. Ook erg vriendelijk personeel.
