A great coffee shop with a top-notch saleswoman 🫶🏾

Excellent place for coffee and pastries. I got the cinnamon and sugar chimney cake with chocolate ice cream and though not bad, I should’ve gotten the vanilla ice cream as the barista/staff initially suggested. Might be cause of the contrasting flavors but the chocolate muted the cinnamon a bit. Iced latte’s wonderful! Food and drinks are reasonably priced, service is lovely and place is quite a comfort away from the crowds and bustle of tourists outside

The café is very inviting. It's small and not too big, creating a cozy atmosphere. The café seems to be very committed to sustainability. However, this meant that by 4 p.m., a large portion of the menu was already sold out. The food we ate was tasty, but nothing special. The service, however, was very attentive.

Traditional cafés are few and far between in Amsterdam, so I ended up at Chimney Café in my search for one. It exudes a rather rustic atmosphere and offers a fairly large selection of cakes. The cakes are rather mediocre, but okay for the price. And the service is very friendly.

Small café with chimney cake. I took the base one so only sweetened and accompanied by a little cream, cost 6 euros, and not filled. What can I say? Maybe I had higher expectations remembering the one I ate in London at Camden Market. In my opinion it was a little undercooked so crunchy on the outside but the dough inside was too moist. It could improve.

It's good, but the cappuccino is not wow, it's just average

We were looking for a local neighborhood cafe for our last “ meal” in Amsterdam when we came across the charming Chimney Cake Cafe. We liked the ambiance and enjoyed our cappuccinos and croissants.

Magnificent! The lady was very kind, patient and very attentive. We are not very good with English but she was lovely with us, I would not hesitate to come back 🤗

Friendly and fast service. A large selection of cakes and interesting dessert suggestions. A wide selection of coffees. Fresh bread and sandwiches. A perfect place for lunch.

Such a friendly and open-minded staff, I truly enjoyed the conversation! And the food is also delicious, highly recommend this place if you wanna have a quick snack or in need of “recharging”😌. Not to mention the warm atmosphere and the pleasant interior✨

look, I would rate any restaurant a zero if they prepare my sandwich with bare hands with no gloves and cut and touch the cheese without even washing their hands. my visit was last year, morning, only customer, nice lady serving but still! come on.

Delicious coffee, great sandwiches and even better orange juice! I ordered the Focaccia which was cooked perfectly and the Cappuccino was one of the best I've had. The orange juice was really fresh and sweet. The service was great, thank you Kate!! Lovely place to study but slightly cold.

The cakes were super good and reasonably priced. Particularly the cinnamon rolls and the carrot cake, the matcha was also not bad

It's a very nice and cozy café with friendly and good service. Unfortunately the front door stays open the whole time, so it's freezing cold inside in winter 🥶

The waiter in the morning she is so rude we ordered a drink she bring it so cold and we ordered to make it little bit warmer she said we have only that😟

The place is open from 7 a.m. very good place for freshly made breakfast, this is the second chain of bakery cafes that I visited in Amsterdam. Each of them delights the same, and the fresh smell of baking knocks you off your feet. Top class coffee ! 👌🏼

Very dry and stale cakes these were definitely on display for way longer than was supposed to. The taste was also very mediocre.

Quaint little cafe, friendly staff,lovely cappuccino. Had cappuccino to go from it past 3 mornings (25,26, and 27th Dec 24) it was that good. Young girl that was serving was more than pleasant even at that time of the morning. Highly recommend. Being on a diet I didn't try and of the baked goods but everything looked unreal. Will be having the cannolis next time. Big selection of them 🤤

A very cosy cafe, i really recommend the focaccia caprese. Very good. The staff is very nice. They have a very large sortiment of baked goods.

This is a pleasant, quaint cafe / coffee shop. The staff are friendly, the cakes / pastries on offer are plentiful and look very appetising (unfortunately I had just eaten, so had no room to taste). There is a good selection of drink choices - I chose a large mocha, which was smooth with just right combination of coffee / chocolate. Background music adds to the character of this place. Pop in for a coffee break, you won't regret it.

Our cappuccino and decaf espresso were terrible...both bitter and sour (1 out of 5). The carrot cake was pretty good (4 out of 5). Too bad. :(

Because of the high rating, we were seriously disappointed. The desserts looked fabulous but were quite bland. The server must have had a bad evening because she was obviously not happy to be there or to have us there. So, it was just ok. Would not recommend it.

Small and cute Café with nice service and great cakes/pastries. For me personally a comfortable atmosphere and located in central Amsterdam in a small alley. I tried the classic cinnamon bun. Definitely a recommendation for a quick cake pause 😊

We had a Chimney Cake at a different location in Amsterdam the last time we visited, but this was the closest to the Amsterdam Centraal train station. We got the pistachio chimney cake, ham and cheese croissant, iced vanilla latte, and iced hazelnut latte, which was all great. The staff is very friendly, the cafe was very clean, and the atmosphere is great, and the chimney cake is just as good as we remembered! Thank you for the great experience, again!

The cakes are not fresh, we wanted to try it because of the good rating but it’s a disappointment

A ginger tea was ordered, we received a mint tea, when we asked why we were given a mint tea the answer was that mint tea was ordered. It was also said: "I can make a ginger tea but you have to pay for it" Gastronomy failed and customer satisfaction is completely ignored.

This cafe was a delightful experience! They have a wide variety of delicious cakes and sandwiches to choose from, and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. It was a rainy and cold day, so we had to wait a bit for seating, but once inside, the atmosphere was very cozy and comforting. A perfect place to warm up with great company and treats! 🍰☕️🌧️

It was the most horrible experience ever!!!!! Where I waited a total of 1 hour to get a chimney cake.At first they were out of dough so I patiëntly waited for 20mins and post that another 40 mins to just the chimney cake done and then they give me Raw dough uncooked inside as well as I ordered pistachio chimney cake and they gave me cinnamon.like the worst experience ever !!!! So disappointed!!!!!

I came with the intention of tasting these famous Chimney. To my great surprise, when I saw the table with the prices, I saw a scoop of ice cream with whipped cream that looked incredible. She dared to give me a scoop of ice cream and when I asked her where the whipped cream was after I paid she told me that there wasn't any and that we just put a scoop of ice cream to escape to run away from friends.

Not really fresh cakes they serve and they were not so good. I can't recommend this place, but if you want to take a cup of tea - it's okay.

What a lovely shop! We were looking for a place to eat whilst on a cruise stop in Amsterdam and there is no better place for an entire family to sit for half an hour or so. We ordered a variety of foods from chimney cakes, sandwiches and coffees. All of them received glowing reviews from family members. The young staff are brilliant and helpful and even gave us advice on where to go. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. Big round of applause- loved every second

Im not sure if another place offeres a chimney cake in Amsterdam, but this one was really good its like om having it in Prague

Not impressed with this place Server failed to tell me there was no soft serve ice cream until after I paid and only three flavours of ice cream. Paid €12 for a chimney cake with a “scoop” of ice cream. Ice cream was completely melted and the chimney cake was opened at both ends so the melted ice cream was all dripping at the packet that it came in.

Chimney cake is overrated and expensive.

Really excited to find a chimney cake spot (first experience was in Budapest) I asked for plain no sugar (just traditional) and waitress was super confused and double check few times. Now I know why she put no glazing on it (I meant sugar sprinkles) and then also overcooked it. It wasn’t cake texture it was a hard crusty bread . Had to throw it out so don’t order plain. As for texture that would not be good with all the toppings offered either.

The cinemon was too much though, you should add way, way less cinemon to your sugar, because it made the cake bitter. Also I found it a little pricey, but understandable, it was the center of Amsterdam. Otherwise it was perfect as is!

Place is really amazing. There coffee is to die for. It’s hard to find a good cup of coffee this central of Amsterdam. Decided to try their mocha and it didn’t disappoint. Staff is friendly. And if more friendly if you’re nice to them

No table service, no Dutch, dirty environment. There is no shortage of tourism in this zone, but if you don't like it, you don't have to. Many tourists look outside this way. Tourism in and around the core is getting worse with every visit.

The cakes are very tasty 😋 Recommend it

We came here randomly because we needed coffee in the evening quickly, the coffee was nice, the waitress was very kind and the stroopwafel was awesome as well. The waitress immediately understood when I asked for an extra espresso in my cappucino, thanks again, it kept me up for the late night drive :)

I stopped in this spot for a cappuccino and croissant. I enjoyed it so much I stayed for a while to admire the interior decor and lovely atmosphere. You feel like your in a mom and pop cafe. Very cozy. The baked goods all looked and smelled delicious. I will go here again.
