Churros&chocolate in Rotterdam Centrum

Strange people working here. Especially the guy with too much gel in his hair. A weirdo, good at talking nonsense, but he works reluctantly. And you can see that reflected in his behavior. It's a real shame, because employees like that don't make a second visit.

We got an extra drink after the computer made a mistake just before closing time. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

We frequently pass by the Markthal and also this fine establishment. It's extremely tempting to not stop by for a quick snack. The staff is very friendly and have an eye for detail. The food quality is good, taste amazing and possible combinations are unique. Poffertjes with kersen?! Superb! Highly recommended and very tourist/foreigner friendly way to taste some lovely Dutch snacks.

My nearly 3-year-old son wasn't exactly drooling at the sight of those fresh mini pancakes. The cook even gave him a tasty treat while we waited. Super service, and my son thought it was “deeeery.” I secretly had one too when my son was looking the other way for a moment, and I can only agree with him. Delicious!

Incredibly arrogant staff. I asked her to put on another glove because she only had one and she also touches food and cash with her other hand. She almost rolled her eyes. Furthermore, the prices are wrong, and because SHE didn't have enough change, she gave me too little. Definitely not how it should be. I used to enjoy coming here, but not anymore.

Churros soak up the oil when fried, I don't understand why they use old oil for that. Ugh!! The kids who work there clearly have no heart for the business, aren't customer-friendly, and are stingy with the chocolate sauce; it seems like it's coming out of their paychecks. They don't sell much, they sell a lot, in short, a stall that's preying on poor tourists. A tip for the owner: instead of passing off criticism or denying it, read it and work on it.

The only thing I liked about this place was the atmosphere. But even that was disappointing. I ordered a small portion of churros, which were cold and had way too much sugar. The taste was also disappointing. But the service was extremely unfriendly. Very monotonous, and it felt like they'd never served customers before.

The service is terrible, the girls at the counter are rude and look bothered when you order. The churros are completely burnt and don't taste good. We also paid more than what was advertised. Please avoid at all cost.

Great service and attention from the staff. The guy is from Morocco, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Fast, delicious, and everything was served well.

They sell vegan stoopwafel (only in packet) €5 but very nice and the girl working was doing a great job by herself.

We had a Kinder Bueno waffle, it was delicious, and the salesperson was super friendly! He kindly gave us an extra KitKat with our order. We totally recommend it.

Ordered, paid, waited 10 minutes for poffertjes until we were asked if we had ordered anything, even though there were only two customers in front... Food was good, service was unmotivated, inattentive, and inefficient.

I had incredibly delicious churros and poffertjes! The portions were perfect, and the value for money was excellent. I always travel from Eindhoven to enjoy the best churros in the Netherlands here. Highly recommended!

Also the Dubai strawberries and waffle pancakes are a must-try! The owner is super friendly and creates a great atmosphere. Highly recommended for sweets!

The waffle was really hard to chew and not so amazing. Would prefer eating somewhere else.

Waffle tasted like a brioche croissant from the supermarket with an expired date. And probably it is what it is....i later noticed they don't make it by order, they have premade waffles and just reheat them. Disgraceful!

There are few employees and therefore it takes a long time to take an order. Also it takes an almost the same amount of time to prepare the order. Delicious but the the order was slightly undercooked

Terrible experience. I bought some churros from this place, but the service was really disappointing. The girl at the counter was rude, impatient, and not helpful at all when I was trying to choose. She acted like I was bothering her just by ordering. On top of that, I paid extra for white chocolate and she didn’t even add it. To make things worse, the churros were burnt. I will never go back. Absolutely shameful.

Abdel, the owner, was super nice to us while we were waiting for the meal prep. Also, the poffertjes were very nice and tasty. We chose the butter + sugar option. Delicious. I would have attached a picture with the review but we have ate them all already. Groetjes uit Spanje!

The staff looked uninterested and unwilling to help anyone. Other than that the churros were hard as a rock they over fried it like crazy and didn’t even do it fresh.

These are the worst churros I've ever had. They were burnt, bland and greasy. The service could also be much better. Save your money.

We ordered a small portion of churros with cinnamon sugar, but unfortunately it was disappointing. They were way too crispy, probably because they were fried for too long, which also made us taste more oil. It was busy, so maybe less attention was paid to the preparation, but that really shouldn't matter. The sugar to churro ratio, on the other hand, was good.

Cool place serves bakes and dessert. We tried churros with chocolate and fine sugar also mini pancakes. Churros are great, pancakes are good but little undercooked. Service is fast and staff are friendly. Place where they shop at is big shopping mall.

I had mini pancakes which were very delicious. Pancakes with melting butter, it was so good!!! I regret not having taken more. The seller was really very friendly, he even added some extra churros for me.

I enjoyed poffertjes, sort of mini pancakes. Add a little butter, sprinkle with sugar... A treat for your taste buds! The little pastries melt in your mouth 😋 My only regret: not having taken more 😭 Another added value: the seller is really adorable. So don’t hesitate to stop by his place if you’re in Rotterdam 😉

Today is January 15, 2024, we wanted to order bubble waffle, but she said she doesn't have bubble waffle while she was making bubble waffle for us, then she said she doesn't have any kind of fruit and later we found out that they also has no whipped cream. We also had to wait a long time because she was talking to her friends. Terrible service. Don't come here.

I ordered bubble waffle ,the girl made me a normal waffle. Moreover, she said there are no fruits at all ,no nutella ,no kinder bueno, etc. Also the waffle was cold and hard as a stone. The girl was disgusting ,very unfriendly, not interested what the clients are ordering, in general it was pretty obvious that she doesn't like her job. To conclude, AVOID THAT PLACE :)

Scammers! What you sell is not churros nor can it be called food because it is not edible, after one bite the entire tray went in the trash and so did my money.

I was helped by a fantastic lady on Monday 11/20 around 6:00 PM, highly recommended, tasty, warm and ready quickly. the lady was also very social and friendly.

We tried this place for the Dutch treat, poffertjes. They are mini pancakes and they were super good! We had ours with icing sugar on top and now that I think back, we should have ordered more 🙂. Next time.

Really great pancakes, Marc is a real character, bit of a local legend really. Awesome to watch someone so talented making pancakes, should make the step up to management asap in my opinion!
