We had a fantastic evening and were completely entertained by the bar staff. Zara & Romek, you guys are the BEST!!! Tequila haters turned tequila lovers

We came here on a Friday evening as a large group of colleagues, almost 20 people, and luckily—despite having a reservation inside—we were able to find a spot outside thanks to the lovely weather. Following the waiter’s recommendation, I ordered a Paloma, and it was truly delicious—lightly sweet, easy to drink, and very refreshing! I even ordered a second one. We shared some nachos to start. They were tasty, but I was expecting something with ground meat—instead, it came with just cheese sauce, spicy sauce, and chips. For taco, I had ‘Birria’ —the pulled beef and the melted cheese, and it was delicious. The service was a bit slow and there were a few mix-ups here and there, but considering it was a busy Friday night and we were a large group, I think it was all within an acceptable range.

Fantastic place! Staff is super friendly and knows a lot about the different Mezcals and Tequilas on the menu, can also give nice and good advice for a tasting (tequila can be nice, what?!?). Incredibly delicious food too, best nachos in town! All cocktails we had were very special and tasty, we will definitely come back :)

The best paloma in the world. Yes, the world. Botanero is an incredibly cool cocktail bar specializing in mezcal. The paloma is made entirely by hand. I don't mean mixing the cocktail. No, everything is made by hand and you can taste it. The staff is super chill and you can indicate which type of cocktail you like and you will get good advice! The food is also very tasty. They also have special al pastor taco days.

Hidden gem in Rotterdam! THE place for the best Paloma’s in Town!

We’ve been to Botanero several times and it’s turning into our go to place for a great night out. Every time we’ve been it’s been fantastic. Great atmosphere, really friendly and attentive staff (got some great recommendations for Mezcal!), awesome cocktails and great tacos! Highly highly recommend!

The tip: let one of the botaneros advise you and surprise you with the cocktails! Last night Zara took care of us and she nailed it every time! Always fun and always good cocktails here 🚀👩‍🚀 oh and the churros with dark chocolate sauce....🤤

Last Saturday we did a Spirit (tequilla) tasting with about 9 people as a friends outing. It was a lot of fun and 100% recommended! With lots of laughter in between, we learned more about the Botanero restaurant, the history of tequilla and the drink itself. Careful consideration was given to serving water and snacks in between. After the tasting we of course stuck around for more cocktails and 2 more tequilla drinks. David - our tequilla pourer that evening - thank you so much. It's a night for the books! See you soon ;)

The spicy margarita is SOO GOOD

Went to Botanero on the occasion of two friends' birthdays. The place looks great, but the overly loud music ruins the atmosphere. Although we really enjoyed our meal, this place has one major Achilles heel: the price/quantity ratio. The quality is fine but the portions are unreasonably small. When we asked if we could get a plate of nachos, we were told that they were not served in the restaurant but only on the terrace. Ultimately, you order almost two full main courses for everyone and you are more than 300 euros lighter. All in all, highly recommended if you are not on a budget and are a very small eater. Otherwise I would advise people to look elsewhere.

Very bad service. I arrived at 8.30pm and my friends were already there. I asked to add a table as the one where my friends were sitting was too small, but the waiter told me that she could use the other table for other customers (the place was more thank half empty). When I asked for cutlery I was told that usually they don’t serve cutlery to whom orders only tacos, but eventually she “made an exception” and I had to ask again for a napkin. Food was okay.

Visited on a Friday night and it was completely rammed with people at 22:00. Staff were very polite and well organised. They managed to find us a table about 15 minutes after arriving. Cocktails and wine were great and the price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend it if you need a popular location.

We were placed at the bar, the manager was at the bar that evening. What a nice lady! She also let us have a nice chat together, but also came to have a chat, gave us tips and advice about the cocktail and taught us a bit 😊

A real disappointment. Looking forward to drinking a unique mezcal or tequila. However, the staff has no idea what is available beyond the 5 items on the menu. Asked for someone with experience with the drink, but this was not possible. Then ordered some tacos and a main course. Tacos were good and tasty. The “sous vide chicken in mole” turned out to be a piece of fried chicken with a small dollop of mole on the side. Indicated that we thought this was a shame and did not understand why the menu did not match the dish. The boy serving did his best but didn't really know what to do with it.

FINALLY GREAT TACOS IN ROTTERDAM!!! But ALSO, great service AND cocktails?!?! SI SEÑOR!!! 🫡🫡🫡 I'm Mexican and a foodie, so it was my goal to find great tacos here.... and I can happily say that these are truly FANTASTIC! I had the lechon and birria tacos. The lechon was soft, juicy and perfectly cooked and the birria.... wow.... one bite and you'll go to taco heaven 😋 These tacos are like they should be: a PUNCH of flavor with every bite 🙌 Oh but it doesnt end here! 💅 They also have fantastic cocktails and a quite nice selection of Mezcal bottles, which is a rare find in Rotterdam. Last but not least, the service is super friendly, gives great recommendations, and is attentive. Atmosphere wise, it starts quite nice and chill around 6-7pm; but once the food is over and the drinks keep coming, it definitely becomes a more lively and and cozy!

What a nice tent! We went for lunch on Sunday, and we enjoyed it so much. Nice service, nice music, good food (the BBQ was on) so we will definitely come back.

We loved the music, varied Latin rhythms to dance to 😍 and variety of cocktails. The guy who served us was very friendly and helpful. We were surprised that they gave us water service, when we emptied the bottle the boy brought another full one. Hydration is very important 😅🥰

A Botanero, according to its website, is "a Latin American mix of bar, restaurant, cantina and tasting room." The decor is original, the service friendly and attentive. We ended up at this cocktail bar by chance because we were staying for a night in a nearby hotel. And wow, what a nice tent! Received 4 fantastic cocktails, great help with choosing (huge choice!!) and super friendly service! If we are ever in Rotterdam again we will definitely come back!!!

I wanted to take a group of colleagues to the bar, which was recently voted the best bar in Rotterdam. Partly because I know that the quality itself is excellent. We were really received in a very unfriendly manner. We didn't even arrive very late (00:30) but because of the "late" driving time we were only allowed to choose between 2 or 3 cocktails. A real mockery. I will very rarely take people with me again. Let alone recommend.

Latin style cocktails are pretty good. I definitely recommend trying their special cocktail, Paloma.

Best Cocktail bar in Rotterdam! We went there for national Paloma day (22-5) and believe me !! This spot is really great. Nice staff, good drinks (for sure you need to order a Paloma or 2) and nice food.

I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience. I ordered a glass of red wine that tasted like vinegar. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they refused to exchange it, insisting that this was how the wine was supposed to taste. Not only was the wine undrinkable, but the dismissive attitude of the staff was completely unacceptable. This is not the level of service or quality I expect from a restaurant. I will not be returning, and I advise others to avoid this place if they care about the quality of their food and drink.

It has great music/ambiance, the staff is attentive, but the food it's very expensive. 1 taco costs 6€, which I though unthinkable until coming to Rotterdam. If you're only going for drinks, it's very worth it!

After asking the waiter if we can get something for free for my friend's birthday, he said that he can make us a "special" shot for her birthday. Surprise surprise, we had to pay for the three shots. Thumbs down.

I had the dish with black garlic and cauliflower with beans. It looked amazing and the taste was light and sensual but not really filling. It is perfect with a cocktail. The atmosphere is colourful with amazing murals and lighting and the service is interested in the guest and are quick

It was a different card than what was on the site. Very little choice in terms of food. That was very unfortunate. The tacos were too small to really fill you up and there was simply little choice. Pity. For the money we ultimately spent, we would have been better off eating somewhere else with larger portions and more choice. Furthermore, the atmosphere is nice, the staff was nice and the drinks were tasty.

Heerlijk avondje met een collega gehad..

Dit is nou zo'n plek waar je lekker neerstrijkt (in ons geval aan de gezellige bar) als je zin hebt in een heerlijke cocktail, gemaakt door zeer deskundige shakers. De taco's zijn verslavend lekker en ook voor de non-alcohol klant: de virgin cocktails zijn een genot voor je smaakpapillen. Wij waanden ons voor een klein ogenblik, zomaar in Cuba. Het interieur en de sfeer maken namelijk de ervaring compleet.

Spirit tasting arrangement afgenomen voor een bachelorparty bij Botanero. Zeker de moeite waard! Heerlijk de geschiedenis van het cafe en de drank mogen innemen. Daarbij ook zo heerlijk mogen genieten van de versnapperingen dat we gewoon extra bijbesteld hebben en die avond terug zijn gekomen. Een hele prettige ervaring. Dankjewel Botanero 👍

Coctails are very nice but portions of the food veeery small. Also very expensive for a taco one piece and small and 7€ for example.

Heerlijke cocktails, lekkere tacos en altijd hippe en bijzondere dessertjes. Service is correct en vriendelijk. Het was niet superdruk toen wij er waren (het was nog vroeg op de avond), maar de muziek stond wel erg hard voor een niet zo drukke bar. Toen we vroegen of het ietsje zachter mocht, kregen we te horen dat dat niet mogelijk was. Wel kregen we toen een andere tafel aangeboden die verder van de speaker af zat

Gezellige tent waar je lekkere hapjes kunt eten, eventueel in combinatie met een heerlijke cocktail/mocktail of een (speciaal) biertje. Mooie setting en goede sfeer. Kortom een prima gelegenheid om naar toe te gaan!

The Best cocktailbar AND in my hometown!!! No surprise they are the best of the Netherlands. Great classic cocktails and an epic Paloma (very scary this one, it is like drinking a soda 😅) but the best part of this bar is the food/snacks that they serve. The food could also be their best selling point. Everything is served with a smile and the staff clearly know what they are doing.

Ze hebben er heerlijke cocktails en mocktails. Helaas was de mojito mij te sterk, maar dat bleek te komen door de Jamaicaanse rum die veel sterker smaakt. Toen heb ik een andere cocktail genomen en haalde ze de mojito van de rekening, omdat ze niet van tevoren hadden gezegd dat die sterker was. Super netjes. Heel fijn. Leuke tent. Gezellige muziek. Het zou leuk zijn als op een gegeven moment de tafels aan de kant geschoven worden en je ook kan dansen, want die muziek en sfeer vraagt voor een dansje :)

Very nice cocktail bar that also serves food. More known for their handcrafted drinks.I had a very nice old-fashioned made with in house simple syrup that was made from Italian red wine. Their paper plane old-fashioned was reminiscent of a peaty wishkey and had a very interesting flavor.. for dinner I chose the beef spare ribs that I paired with a red wine. Overall good value for money and freshly made cocktails. Would definitely go back again.

Staff were so incredibly friendly, we got our drinks in minutes and out waiter knew what we needed before we told her. Truly one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant.
