The food, service and atmosphere was so good we came back all 3 mornings of our stay. Breakfast good value for money, recommend if you're staying at the hotel next door!

We somehow only came here for the first time yesterday but it was great! The food was delicious and everyone who worked there was super kind. I didn't have it but I overheard someone say their gluten free bread was the best they've ever had so I'll definitely be coming back for that! Regardless the breakfast platters can be ordered piecemeal so you can definitely make anything work. Would highly recommend!

Truly delicious place, excellent food, and prompt, attentive service. Friendly staff. We had pancakes, Michael's sandwich, and a mocha chino and a hot cocoa. Everything was delightful!

10/10 We had our last meal before we flew back to Leeds, what a treat to have had a gorgeous breakfast at this little gem. The place had a festive ambiance, service was great and friendly. The food portions were really generous, fresh and delicious. Definately a place to visit for a memorable meal.

Cafe for tourists that visit Artis The room is smelly, especially at the back. The menu card is sticky. The food itself is average (maybe slightly below tho)

What a wonderful experience! Extremely friendly. Very tasty food. Order the ham and cheese croissant. Perfect!!!!!!! We will eat it every morning during our stay.

A lovely little café with very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the sandwich (€8!!!) was very similar to a classic sandwich you'd get at a motorway service station. I think everyone knows what I mean from that description. That's just unacceptable.

Absolutely amazing place Upon arriving, we were greeted and welcomed by the neighbourly cat. The kind owner let us feed, pet, and play with the cat before getting into business. The Spanish breakfast was a absolutely amazing!! The croissant was crisp on the outside and soft/airy on the inside A variety of coffee as well! Most importantly the friendly staffs and owner, the nice collection of songs, the cute decoration, and the Christmas vibe just made our stay unforgettable. Everything is taken with great care. 10000 recommended

I paid €4,90 for a flat white that honestly tastes like the coffee I'd get from AH for €1... The milk wasn't frothed properly, the koffie mainly had warm milk in it with some over foamed stuff sitting on top (exactly like the machines in AH), and the coffee tasted like pretty generic over-roasted beans (again like AH koffie). The place seemed nice but that's the most expensive flat white I've gotten in Amsterdam this year and at the same time the worst one...

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was very friendly! And the coffee was so good — I’ve never had such delicious coffee before. I really enjoyed eating there; the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. When I’m in Amsterdam again, I’ll definitely come back.

At 1 p.m. on a Thursday, it didn't seem to be very busy. The waitress was sitting at a table with the chef when we came in and welcomed us. After we sat down at a table, we were given a glass of tap water and our order was taken shortly afterwards. Up to that point, everything seemed quite nice, but unfortunately, several negative points arose over time. The waitress had been talking loudly with someone who appeared to be an acquaintance and was playing videos on her smartphone at an extremely high volume. After serving our drinks, she sat back down at a table and tapped away on her phone until another acquaintance came in with a child and she started talking to them. The cook then served our food: a carelessly assembled hot dog and a sandwich. The presentation of the food was awful. Although it tasted quite nice, at that point the visit was completely ruined for me, and I paid around 25 euros for the whole visit, which I could have saved myself. I do not recommend this place.

Delicious food, good for a quick breakfast, but not for staying long. The staff is friendly. It's a bit cluttered inside, which doesn't make it inviting, but the food is delicious.

Love Coffee and Bites. Very friendly and welcoming with an inviting atmosphere. Great comfort food at a really good price. Thankful to have found this on our travels. Will definitely return to Coffee and Bites when I’m in Amsterdam again. Will recommend to all family and friends who travel to Amsterdam.

While searching for a good brunch spot, I came across this place with a 4.6-star rating and had high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite match the reviews. When we arrived, the staff were noticeably cold and unwelcoming. There was no guidance—we had to find our own table—and it took quite a while before anyone came to take our order. That said, the coffee menu was impressive, with a variety of options to choose from. For breakfast, they offer several styles like English and American, or you can customize your plate by ordering items like eggs, mushrooms, etc., individually. I opted for the English breakfast, but it was missing the avocado and spinach. When I asked, I was told they had run out—something that should have been mentioned upfront. The final bill for two basic breakfasts came out to nearly €60, which felt highly overrated for the quality and service we received. Overall, a disappointing experience that didn’t justify the price or the high rating.

15 minutes waiting to order, then waited a further 45 minutes for a bacon sandwich and cheese toastie. Didn’t even get our food, terrible service, absolutely awful place!!!!!! Don’t recommend for anyone going there!!!!!!!! Would give minus stars if I could!!!

Definitely not what I expected when I read the stellar reviews that this place has. I'll start with the good parts: the food is decent, and it's pretty close to the Artis complex, Holocaust museum, etc. The staff is (mostly) friendly and polite, despite us being completely ignored and being forced to go to the counter to order (after a 20 minute wait). But that's pretty much where the good parts end. The place is pretty small and cramped, and definitely not clean (lots of flies and tables were pretty sticky, nobody cleaned them during the whole time we were there). Another weird thing is that tables are made from old yarn swifts, which would normally be an interesting thing, if not for the fact that some of them still have the "wheel" in working condition. When we sat down, my partner accidentally stepped on the mechanism and the wheel spun, hitting my left knee. Not a good start. As I said before, we waited for 20 minutes to place our order but nobody came; not being local I thought I had to get up to order so I did, but then I noticed that other people were placing their orders at the table so no, we were just being ignored. The menu has a lot, and I mean a lot of choices. The tricky part is actually getting the food, since it took us one hour from sitting down to actually leaving. The place was busy but not that busy; if you're in a hurry I definitely cannot recommend this. The wait for the food was extremely long, almost as if we were having dinner; not suited for a quick breakfast. And we didn't even have dishes that needed to be prepared "on the spot", like pancakes or stuff like that. It was just a croissant (just needs to be heated) and a muffin (you just need to bring it to me... doesn't even need heating!). The most complicated dish was a hot dog and that's saying something. The coffee was good but the spoon I got with it was extremely dirty; I'm not talking about lime residue, I'm talking dirty and sticky. I honestly cannot recommend this place in general for reasons I already discussed; this is especially true if you're a tourist that wants to see as much as possible in Amsterdam; we thought we were gonna grab a quick breakfast before heading to visit museums or the beautiful city, but we got stuck for an hour of just... waiting. Disappointing, because this place could be much more with some more effort.

Ordered a sausage on toast they give me 2 cock tail sausages on a hot dog roll with lettuce 😂😂😂 no butter or nothing just lettuce and cocktail sausages on a hot dog bun please do not give these guys a penny biggest waste of €14 I have ever spent when I asked why there was lettuce on my cocktails peice of bread or what ever you want to call it they said just take it off I took it off and there wasn’t even any butter on the roll I couldn’t recommend this to a dog never mind a person

In the Plantage neighbourhood where we were staying around the corner from the entrance to the Artis Zoo. Visited Coffee & Bites three times while visiting Amsterdam in May with my brother and two sisters … all of us from Canada. Each visit reconfirmed our impression that this restaurant was a great place to stop in for coffee and breakfast … the food and coffee were very good and well priced … loved the welcoming, casual atmosphere … and appreciated the excellent service and the warm hospitality of the owner/operators who seemed interested to chat with us and ask about our travels. Each visit we were welcomed with smiles and cheerful greetings. We were beginning to feel like we were at home, which is a nice feeling when you are ‘on the road’! Although we didn’t have lunch or dinner there, I would think the food and service would be equally good at those times too. Would highly recommend Coffee & Bites… especially for breakfast. Will definitely go back when I return to Amsterdam which will hopefully be soon. A lucky find for us!

Had a nice breakfast at Coffee & Bites: good spot outside in the sun, great service and good bang for your buck. We were helped quickly, got some water served immediately and food was there in 5-10 mins. Definitely recommend!

Came here by way of a recommendation from the local hotel l was staying at. This is such a cool and chill little place. I had a wonderful sausage roll and coffee. The staff were so very kind and friendly. Perfect example of cozy Dutch eatery hospitality. Definitely will have lunch here when I come back in the fall. Definitely try the Pastrami Burger.

I found it excellent: a calm environment; equally calm and friendly staff; pleasant background music (soft flashback) and for those who like a simple and varied coffee/brunch, there is the full Dutch breakfast with wholemeal bread, fruit, jams, natural yogurt and fried egg, which I found very tasty. If you are not a big eater, the full Dutch breakfast serves two people. I recommend it.

Small and cozy place near the Holocaust and Resistance Museum. I was pleasantly surprised by the chicken burger because I was expecting a medallion and they are two pieces of very very delicious fried chicken with a very good sweet and sour sauce as well. The bread is super delicious and the service is very friendly and attentive even if it falls short if the place fills up. I recommend and would return!

Accidentally stumbled upon this cafe, the interior design and atmosphere was so cozy, and we felt at home. The stuff was very friendly, and joked with us. We ordered the sparkling mint coffee and a cinnamon late, the American breakfast and the homemade apple pie, everything was delicious, a satisfying meal for 2 people, and totally worth the price. the apple pie tasted like heaven and melted in my mouth. We sat near the kitchen, and could hear the chef singing songs in Italian, we enjoyed it so much!!! We had such a great experience, I can't wait to come back!!!

Small little coffee shop, quite cosy, very affordable compared to some of its nearby neighbours. Menu is varied with options for lunch including things the kids will eat like ham or cheese sandwiches. Staff were very accommodating to us tourists, very friendly, water on the table. I had a hot dog- really tasty felt like I'd got what I'd paid for. SO got an egg sandwich with avocado which was deconstructed, like build-it-yourself type deal. Avocado was on the turn too which is a minor issue. Overall, really nice, would recommend. Would come back if we were local again

I was here for a coffee and those tiny pancakes which we’re delicious. The ambiance is great, I felt relaxed and in no rush.
