They have glutenfree options for sandwiches, and a lot of plant based milk options. (Oat, Almond, Coconut)

I have lived within walking distance for three years, but to my regret, I never went inside. Until last week. What a lovely place! Beautifully decorated, delicious Chai Latte, a nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. They also have nice books, a jar of dog biscuits, a “dog wall of fame,” and you can work comfortably on your laptop here.

Nice place to relax and get some work done. Staff especially the guy with the weird mustache was very quick to tell People who came in at 3:30 that the kitchen was closed. If he’s unhappy working here, he should find another job in an office maybe? Girl was pleasant.

A great cafe with breakfast. Plenty of space inside, with tables for groups of all sizes. There are books and games. You can also sit outside. The service is very friendly. The food is delicious. There's a power bank rental station. The free jug of water is a big plus. You don't have to wait long. I recommend this place.

Great place to have a breakfast before you head out to the city. It was close to our hotel, their iced strawberry matcha with coconut milk is the best! You can sit out and explore life in the Netherlands in real time.

Have come to villy very often, it is a cozy neighborhood café with excellent coffee and consistently tasty brunch dishes. The menu feels fresh and well-made, while the rotating selection of pastries keeps things interesting. A great spot for a relaxed coffee break or casual brunch.

A really lovely café, perfect for a relaxed breakfast. It's not exactly cheap, but the portions are very generous. So it's definitely worth it :) The chai latte was excellent!

I often came here for work as a digital nomad. I love that they have the laptop area as well as one for dining. The vegetarian meals overall taste good despite the fact that there are limited options. The coffee is a bit pricey imo. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

It’s really expensive and the service is terrible. We waited half an hour to be served, it took so long for them to bring us our toast, and they forgot our drinks. When I went to ask about it a little while later, nobody had a clue what had happened to the drinks. Terrible service. It’s definitely not worth it.

We came here once for breakfast and ordered the avocado toast. The bread was delicious, although the avocado could have been fresher. The coffee was also good, but I think it's a shame that they charge extra for vegan milk alternatives. The atmosphere is lovely, even for working. All in all, delicious!

You really need to do something about the food. You have a diverse clientele, so you’d expect more sandwiches, pancakes, and maybe vegetarian/halal options? The prices for drinks are pretty wild by now (5.30?!). And you really should stay open later. Other cafes don't close until 6:00 PM.

What do you do for breakfast when you're on a trip ✈️? Breakfast not only is the most important meal of the day, but it's also, in my opinion, THE meal that will reveal a country's culinary culture. Everything is so global 🌍 now that it's hard to say who eats what. 😅 But breakfast is the strongest of the traditions and people hardly change their habits (in general, of course). So, when I travel, I usually eat out for breakfast... and for the rest of the meals! 😅 Pho 🍜 in Vietnam 🇻🇳, Juk 🥣 in Korea 🇰🇷... the thing is that I usually am not alone and not everybody wants to eat like a local... 😅 Or I don't know what to look for. 😔 On the first day of our last stay in Amsterdam 🇳🇱, I went for a morning run 🏃 before having breakfast and, when I came back, I still had to wait for the rest of the family to get ready. 😤 Needless to say that it was super late to have breakfast and we went to the closest place near our apartment: The Villy. It's a very nice venue, split in 2 distinct areas (laptop 💻 and no laptop) and the staff is very nice and attentive (some of them even speak Spanish 🇪🇸. Btw I was amazed by the number of deutsch people who speak Spanish in Amsterdam 🔥). And I love that they only accept payments by cards 💳. IMO, cash 💰 should disappear. Since it was so late, we only had a toast 🍞 each. On each plate, there was a toast... and nothing else. Just the toast in the middle of the plates. 😓 I had the avocado 🥑 one: my eggs were just perfect and the toast in general was ok, but nothing special... And €15 for an avocado toast, no sides, plus a coffee ☕ sounds like a lot... or maybe it was just me not being used to prices in Amsterdam yet...? 🤔 . . . Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 7/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 6/10 Service: 9/10 How I felt afterwards: 7/10

We came here for lunch because we were in the area. It's a cozy café. The portions are generous. The sandwiches themselves are delicious, with a wonderful combination of all the ingredients. We also really liked the coffee—nice and strong, just the way I like it. The atmosphere in the café is pleasant. You can also work here with a laptop; there are special tables for that. The service is good and fast.

A great café, good for networking, working, and passing the time. Good value for money. The food was good, but you can definitely tell that the avocado 🥑 cream is store-bought and not homemade. If it were homemade or blended, it would have been a much better taste experience. Otherwise, I really liked that the food and drinks were delivered very quickly and together. Everything was beautifully prepared. You can always stop by here for a coffee. Food to go is also available.

The food tastes just like the place itself: calm and healthy. The ingredients simply taste better than things you get at the supermarket, so I understand the prices. If you want to study or work, the atmosphere is very pleasant; it never feels chaotic or loud. The people working there are also really nice people.

My daughter had her birthday lunch at Villey Amsterdam on 5th October. She and all her friends said that the arrangement was amazing and the food was delicious. Excellent place for breakfast, everything delicious and of very good quality. We were served well and very cordially. A little slow, as in most places we visited in the Netherlands.

The service was infinitely slow (we had to go to the cashier ourselves to order because no one came to take our order and then we had to wait another half hour for 3 avocado toast with poached eggs) and the poached eggs were not at all runny, however, the setting is nice and the bread and drinks were good

I've been sitting here for about 30 minutes and I'm still waiting for my double espresso, can my order be that difficult?

We ordered Turkish eggs, and the poached eggs were hard. I pointed this out, and they cooked them new ones. The second ones were also hard. I didn't want to mention it again due to time constraints. When I paid, I was asked if it had worked, and I said no. The only response was "oh, sorry." €13 for two hard-boiled eggs and a bit of onion and eggplant (there was barely any yogurt) is, unfortunately, a disgrace.

I used to come here regularly for lunch. Today I came back after a while and saw that the menu has changed. Unfortunately not for the better. Much less choice, taste has deteriorated. Unfortunately I did not find the Turkish eggs worth my money. The eggs were also not poached. What was a favorite, is now a place where I will not come back to eat.

As a local resident and very frequent customer since the opening, there have been menu changes before, but none as disappointing as this latest one. No more breakfast deal or lunch deal is really sad. These made it possible to have a varied breakfast or lunch at a reasonable price and kept me coming back on a regular basis. I will be going much less often now that these are not available. In general, the new menu just feels like cost cutting at the expense of the customer experience :(

Disappointing new menu. Clearly you are trying to cut costs, however, you shouldn’t sacrifice on the quality. Flammkuchen looks disgraceful and Turkish eggs are disappointing.

Too bad, since the menu has been changed, the portions are really not worth the money. 15 euros for a chicken salad with a few pieces of chicken, tomato, arugula and croutons. Normally their chicken salad came with lots of vegetables, which makes it really filling, I could have easily made this at home. Too bad I came here often, but if this remains the menu, unfortunately.

Really good tasting, quality, breakfast. Reasonable choice of options. Initially had the feeling of a University coffee bar with single young adults working on their laptops, but later became more busy with groups having breakfast/brunch together.

I just arrived at The Villy, looking forward to having lunch. Upon arrival I was told that the kitchen had already closed at 2:15, while it normally closes at 4 o'clock. Very bad service 👎🏻

We had a very good breakfast at The Villy over the weekend - the Yoghurt bowl, the pancakes and the avocado sandwich were excellent. However the coffee was not warm enough and the chocolate croissant was mediocre. The service was excellent. We will be back.

Great place to have a quick chat or work flexibly. Comfortable seats. Often busy and staff are understaffed, so sometimes it can take a long time before they come to you. Once they get there, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The sandwich is very tasty!

After many positive stories from friends, my good friend and I decided to visit The Villy. We chose a spot on the window side, near the toilets. Soon the tables around us were neatly cleared and the waitress even walked by twice to clean other tables. But as far as we are concerned, little happened after that. We literally waited 15 minutes without anyone coming to take our order. Not even a welcome greeting or an apology for the long wait. It was clear that we were simply ignored. After waiting for so long we finally decided to get up and leave. The atmosphere we experienced here was definitely not what we expected based on the positive stories. This was a huge disappointment and completely unjustifiable.

I go there almost every week, nice place, this morning I wanted to order a latte macchiato, the employee didn't know how to make it. Another employee helped her, but the coffee is still not Latte macchiato. I got an espresso macchiato, there is clearly a difference in taste, a very bitter waste of my money. Furthermore, I find them very friendly, but still a disappointment.

Upon arrival I was clearly asked whether I should order at the bar or at the table. Lady clearly said that it could also be done at the table. After waiting fifteen minutes I left. Staff do not make eye contact with you and are only concerned with each other. This is a shame because I have been coming for years.

Been here 4 times over the span of 3 years because it is close to my house (and the only place like it in short walking distance) and I just keep hoping it'll be better. Every time I have been here staff don't see you come in and nobody greets you when you sit down, even if its almost empty inside. Takes more than 15 mins for someone to notice you and then you have to ask for a menu yourself. After getting a menu they either instantly forget about you, or they do so after bringing you your 1st drink. Have always had to go up to the desk to order the rest or a new round of coffees/drinks because its like you become a ghost to them. They are kind though, even if bad at their work. They seem to serve randomly (aka helping people who come in after you first) and its very unprofessional. It seems like they dont each have their own 'zone' to pay attention to and serve which makes it very messy. My tip if you can't get servers to keep an eye on tables and people coming in is to make everyone order at the desk and give you table numbers. It'll instantly solve the issue. I'm used to Amsterdam pricing, especially with the use of good products, but even for that the proportions are off. Though very tasty, the food portions are very small for what you pay. Glad to say the quality of the food has gone up in 3 years though. Last time I was here was with my partner for a little drink and snack stop on our way, and not only did I end up having to order at the desk again, we were told only the smaller snacks would be available as it was an hour til closing (which is fine) but when I ordered they said nothing could be made anymore. This made no sense with the food times on the menus either. (I don't remember exactly... Something only available after 15:00 I think but then apparently you only serve it for an hour because you stop serving food and hour before closing.. Why bother) Will also never forget the time I ordered and espresso martini and had it served, foamless, in a white wine glass.... Sorry but that was just... No

Yummy breakfast (especially, I was told) croissants and marmelade in the Wakey Wakey breakfast). The avocado spread and sourdough bread are amazing. Friendly service and excellent cappuccino.

Nice lunchroom, with a nice menu. Vega and Vegan options are really nice. Unfortunatly their portions are quiet smalll. €9 for one piece of bread with toppings is kind of a ripp off. Most lunchrooms offer 2 pieces of bread for the same menu :)

A really nice place with a nice interior and lots of fun games that you can play there. It's a shame that quite often when I order a drink after renting a workplace, I am surprisingly easily forgotten. Making eye contact with the service is not always easy. I too have had staff speak English to me unnecessarily, but that is largely an Amsterdam ailment and I am not inclined to take it personally. The staff is simply pleasant and nice and the choice of drinks is great. 👌🏻 I hope to be forgotten less often in the future.

After 2 years living in this area of Amsterdam I can confirm with strong confidence that The Villy offers a great selection of food, drinks and pastries. The service (Valerio always know what I need even before I ask) and the atmosphere are undoubtedly top notch. I highly recommend this place.

Cozy place where you can drink good coffee, pastries, close to the tram, buses and the New Kit hotel. The pistachio cookie is excellent, a little sweet, the latte machiato was also very good and the moccachino too. There is a wide choice with plant-based alternatives (soy, coconut, almond, etc.). The service is good, the waitress is professional and present. She knows her map and guides us if necessary. Cozy and original interior atmosphere. Industrial and Scandinavian style. Many people come to work in this café and it is very friendly.

I just had a coffee, and a workmeeting there. There was plenty of space, good location, several tables laptopfree, but others that allowed it. Good atmosphere.

I think it is a shame that everyone next to me was always addressed in Dutch by the Dutch staff and I was always addressed in English just after, even when I order and talk back in Dutch. The only difference between me and them was our appearance. Don't decide for yourself whether someone can speak Dutch or not, but listen to them. It feels very annoying. Especially in a place that portrays itself as a safe space. Everything else is fine.

I loved the food (this was the Karma Kebab salad), but the staff needs to improve their way of dealing with guests. They don’t really notice you when you come in, they have you wait for more than ten minutes, they don’t bring you the menu, and they don’t look at you when you pay the bill. Also, it’s annoying to see them walking around with dirty dishes all of the time.

Generally the food and ambience at the Villy is amazing! The service is quite poor though. It’s not the first time it’s happened but the most recent experience - waited 15 mins for someone to come take our order and no one came. The staff was attending to all other tables around us and no one even stopped to check if we had placed an order or not. Eventually, frustrated - we left.

Had an incredibly wonderful afternoon with friends and family after my civil wedding at the Stadsloket. Delicious sandwiches. Sweet girls in the business who thought carefully about the wishes of our group. Absolutely great!!!
