Fuimos allí ayer. Fue muy agradable. El personal es muy amable y hablan inglés. El ambiente también era agradable. Los precios son muy asequibles y las cantidades suficientes para hacerte feliz. También la comida es fresca y sabrosa. Tomamos la combi de la isla Dahlak. Estaba delicioso. Seguro que volveremos de nuevo

The food was delicious. Everything was explained neatly, very friendly staff. Worth repeating. Meat, fish and vegetarian options.

This cafe restaurant is the bad one. From Rotterdam the food was not tasty, I got sick from a stomach ache, every way you entered you were looked at strangely. Doesn't feel safe there either.

Very nice cafe, with very good price-quality ratio. The two of us spent about 50 euros on extensive dining. Very nice people, definitely recommended

Delicious African food! We had the dish with several small dishes on the African pancake. Many of the different dishes were delicious. Toilets were clean. Walking between the tables was difficult.

I was able to celebrate my 28th birthday in Dahlak, first had a delicious meal with my guests and then danced until late together! Very nice owner with very sweet staff.

Overall - 7.2/10 - Decent African not the best not the worst Food Quality - 7.1/10 - Food quality was above average but there are better African restaurants in Rotterdam. Atmosphere - 7/10 - It's a bar/restaurant so not the best atmosphere not the worst. Value for Money - 7.4/10 - Reasonably priced for what it is.

I would not recommend this restaurant if you are a tourist. 1. The waiter did not want us to take the lunch menu even though we arrived around 15:00. I asked when the dinner menu started, and he said, “now” without a specific time. 2. When I ordered my dish, classified as none-spicy, the waiter asked me how much spicy I wanted. I clarified that I took that specific as it was not spicy, and did not want it. However, the dish was one of the spiciest I ever tried. 3. In the moment of paying, he tried to give us a different ticket (obviously more expensive) for us to pay, and when he realized we realized, he quickly said he was sorry, and that was a mistake. I wonder what would have happened if we would not double-check our ticket.

Absolutely amazing food, amazing service, cosy vibe.

Didn't expect this at all!! What a vibe to have East African decorations and music accompanying the meal. The server was very helpful throughout food selection and explanation. Injera dipping with the various meats/sides were such a delight.

Very authentic Eritrean/Ethiopian food, the best I have tried in many years. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing. I definitely recommend the traditional beers they have on the menu too. The ladies that work there are super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The restaurant is cozy with a colourful decoration and honestly it’s one of those hidden gems that you don’t stumble across very often. I look forward to visiting Dahlak many other times!

I'm not an expert on Eritrean cuisine, but what we ate was excellent! Main course and dessert, all highly recommended. Great service and friendly owners.

The restaurant is a lovely, cozy authentic one. The service was very good, fast even though we were with a group of 16 people. Also to mention that the co-workers were kind and the atmosphere was relaxed with authentic music. I'm sure that I will visit this restaurant more often. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yesterday we had dinner at Dahlak. Delicious food, a good price and such nice staff, highly recommended! If you are not yet familiar with Eritrean or East African food, number 26 on the menu is definitely recommended!

Had a reservation with a large group. Service was very friendly and fast. Received a good explanation of the menu and a really delicious meal! Had the menu for 2 people with a lot of variation in meat, vegetables and fish. I'll definitely return!

Very pleasant environment, a little kitsch at first impression but elegant in details and service. Exquisite food from Eritrean cuisine, a bed of injera"bread" on which are laid cooked vegetables, sauces and (for those who are not vegetarians) delicious and tasty beef and chicken morsels.....whoever wants can ask for cutlery but the excellent is to use injera abread as a "spoon". Delightful management by the staff. Quiet and relaxed environment, the bedlam of the surrounding aperitif venues in Rotterdam remains ....

Sumptuous meals - great Anjera, fantastic spread, great coconut beer and a lovely local community ambience. 10/10 recommended for foodies.

Service was good, lady explained the concept and was very nice. Food was great, we got a lot for the price which nowadays is hard to find, something to be respected.

The staff was very friendly and food was delicious. The portions were big and we didn’t manage to finish it all. Furthermore, its very affordable and just all around a great establishment. Would definitely recommend and I’ll be back soon :)

Food nice but underwhelming for the price. Asked if we'd booked when we entered and directed to a table when we said not; however the restaurant never got busy, so peculiar. Finally, the toilet was maybe authentically Eritrean, like something out of the 1920s with just cold running water but at least there was soap in the dispenser.

Delicious and flavorful Eritrean food! Recommend the meat platter for sharing (it includes vegetables too). Some dishes were quite spicy, if it'll be an issue maybe let them know. Skip dessert. Interesting interior, looks like it was a Dutch bar in its past life.

I have eaten a lot of Ethiopian food; this one is good! However, the waitresses here seemed a little bit overwhelmed and the kitchen was busy, so they couldn’t make as much as we wanted!

Wow, this place was so good! 😍 the vibe was really nice too, there were lots of people inside hanging out, eating and drinking, and they were playing really nice music.

Loved our experience at Sallina’s/Dahlak! It was my spouse’s birthday and we came for lunch here as we never had tried East African food before. The flavours were spectacular, the service was great, affordable prices, great quantity, and we loved the by window seating. The coconut beer was lovely as well, but we were hoping to try the mango which was sadly out of stock. Many people from the local community visit which is a great sign of the authenticity of food. Dahlak will now be my go to for Ethiopian/Eritrean food here on whenever I have a craving for it and find myself in Rotterdam. Truly a gem!

New experience for me eating Eritrean food and it was very tasty!! Went for the sharing plate for 2 and it was great. Many different tasty flavours. The mango beer was also nice. The staff were attentive and friendly. They also showed us how to eat it traditionally... With your hand! Would recommend to all.

C’est la 1ere fois que nous goûtions de la cuisine de l’Erytrhée et nous avons beaucoup aimé. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par des serveuses parlant presque toutes tres bien l’anglais. La nourriture est de qualité avec plats végétariens. On sert les plats avec des galettes très bonnes. Je recommande !

How did it take us so long for us to discover this little gem? I have dined at a good many East African restaurants around the world. So happy to have found this excellent example so close to home. The food was delicious, the service solicitous and friendly, and the atmosphere cozy and pleasant. Portions filling, prices very reasonable. The establishment appears to be frequented by people from the local Eritrean community, always a good sign. It would be amazing if they had the honey wine, mes, available, but I realize that may not be the easiest thing. Meanwhile, we will be returning again soon, and probably many more times.

I eat there in 1 week more than 7 times, I even order, also brought my friends. It’s AMAZING I am Ethiopian I tried many times food in the Netherlands. They are Eritrean I guess? I am in LOVE with their Food. I will come back, it’s now one of my favorite spot in Rotterdam . I never make review on Google, but this need to be told. I order always the East African speciality. Wauw Amazing, I like it thank YOu. Now I want to visit Eritrea because of you’all. The herbs they use is so magical. Amazing, thank you. A great find. A new experience of eating with my hands, but not at all unpleasant. The lady who seemed to be in charge has been very kind and attentive. When the food arrived it looked very good. Very tasty, nice combination of spices, some new flavors for me. I recommend it 100%.

Amazing food, great quantity, honest price! Although the place was totally empty and it was relatively late for lunch, around 14:30, we had an amazing meal. We were three people and sharing a mixed dish for two was perfect. I’ll definitely go back if there will be the chance.

I love this place! The food and service were outstanding. The food has a home cooking flavour that it is really nostalgic. The food was fresh and flavoursome. The injera (bread) was very delicious as well. The serving size are very generous. The mix dish has a great ration of meat and veggies. I am new to the city and it is the only Restaurant where I have returned. It really tastes like home.

Although the name of this restaurant is now called Dahlak, everything on all sites still list Sallinas. The location of the place we ate at matches this address. Just a couple of blocks away form this apartment we were just wandering around about dinner time on our first night in town, looking for something that sounded good. Why not try something different? This is a very eclectic neighborhood with several nationalities represented in the storefronts and restaurants. It reminds me of some of the neighborhoods in NYC. We are willing to try out many things, so this was not a stretch for us. Looking at the menu though was tough to decide. Sooo many things looked great to try. We talked to our waitress and expressed our difficulty making a decision, so she just suggested we try out the chef’s special for two – seven chosen dishes and side. Yep. That’s it! I can’t express how perfect this was. We’re not even sure exactly what dishes some of it was when this huge platter arrived before us, but we did not even care. There was the gored gored, kitfo and asa kulwa I’m guessing but do not know for sure beyond that. It didn’t really matter. EVERY single thing we ate was fabulous. Many of the flavors were fairly similar, but just different enough to be unique from each other. This was for sure one of our most satisfying meals in town. For those who do not know, everything is served with injera (a type of flatbread) that you use to scoop up the food and eat with it. We did not get any silverware as is customary but for those not willing to eat it the way it is supposed to be, I’m sure they can get you some. If visiting Rotterdam again, we would definitely come back here to eat.

Sallina's bestaat niet meer, ik kan hun verrukkelijke injera dus niet meer proeven. De opvolger is weliswaar ook een Afrikaans eethuis, maar de kwaliteit vat in het niet bij die van Sallina's.
