De Aethook in Herkenbosch

Nice place and ideal as a starting point for motorcycle routes in Limburg/Germany. This is the second time and we were very pleased again. Delicious omelette👌

The Aethook is a cafeteria with an outdoor terrace. You can sit there comfortably and choose from an (overly) extensive menu. Had a delicious meal.

Service was poor. Little attention paid to the guests. Food nothing special. Not recommended.

May 6, 2026: Had a delicious meal for a great price. From the outside it looks like a snack bar, but inside is a cozy dining room. In short, a place to remember.

Had a delicious meal. And not to forget a delicious dry rosé for a low price Highly recommended

Friendly, affordable, beautiful terrace, dogs welcome on the terrace, water for the dogs, which we really appreciated. Food tasty and lots of choice, also a delicious ice cream sundae.

Nice local snack bar with consistently good and tasty products. Got a milkshake in this extreme heat. Just like I remember them from back in the day, creamy with chunks of ice cream still in it. We also order food here sometimes, and it is always well prepared.

During our visit today, when the food was served, we were approached about the mess left behind the last few times by our two small children and asked if we would try to keep things tidy. Although we understand that this is not ideal, we found the way this was conveyed inappropriate and unwelcoming. We are parents of young children, and learning to eat independently simply involves making a mess. This is not unwillingness, but a normal part of their development. At the same time, clearing tables (and under the tables if necessary) is a normal task in the hospitality industry. There were food remnants on our table for quite some time that could easily have been cleared away before we left. In our view, the way everything was handled today demonstrates a lack of hospitality and understanding. If this is the way you treat families with small children, then that is reason enough for us not to return here.

Looks like a snack bar, but has a nice seating area inside. The menu is simple, but very tasty. Clean place. The "bucket" (a kind of kapsalon, but with different ingredients) is highly recommended. Definitely not small portions.

We received a very warm welcome. The reviews were very good. What a beautiful, cozy eatery... extremely friendly staff, very good service... very tasty food... good service... excellent. Recommended to everyone. With kind regards, Roel and Patrice, Velp Gld.

A real chip shop, nothing more. Don't go there for a menu, because it's not worth the money. I had the specialty, too much curry on the bao buns, nothing special, unfortunately.

Hospitable owner and friendly staff. We had a delicious toasted sandwich and chicken wrap. There's a wide selection of savory and sweet treats. You can sit comfortably indoors, or on the terrace in good weather. A disabled toilet is available. The Aethook is located near De Meinweg National Park, which offers wonderful hiking and cycling opportunities.

Delicious fries and snacks. Great service!

Friendly staff and delicious food. We found them based on the good reviews, and they're definitely deserved!

Delicious food. Portions were generous and sufficient. Friendly staff.

The restaurant is a frituure which serves a variety of fast food usually based around chips but these are no normal chips they are really great chips unlike the chips served in the UK. The 'bucket' meals are served in a bowl and usually have chips with various meats and sauces. My favourite was chicken with satay and sweet chilli sauce which sounds strange but tasted wonderful. Prices are very reasonable for the food, beer and ice creams and they even do a nice English cup of tea. Although the menu is in Dutch the raw food is displayed in a chiller in the serving area which meant that we could point out what we wanted should the language gap be a problem. The staff all speak good English although the custom is almost entirely Dutch with an occasional German who slipped across the border. There are tables inside and under large umbrellas on the terrace. If you visit the Meinweg National park then this is the pace for lunch at weekends or dinner at night.

In itself it is quite nice to stay there. After all, besides the delicious food the place also gives a very clean impression and the people are very friendly. Unfortunately some prices are on the higher side.

Delicious food and the service was very friendly.

Has become my place! Delicious food, I set my sights on trying out the entire menu, so far I give them a 10 plus, both for the tasty food and the friendly service.

A compliment to the Buckets! I tasted the Aethook bucket on Sunday. We already knew that your fries are very crispy. This bucket tastes really delicious, a taste like Big Mac but in a Bucket with delicious minced meat. Compliment!

We ate in the restaurant area of the Aethook. The on-site menu was somewhat smaller than the online menu. A delicious meal. A three-course dinner costs 25 euros. Excellent price-quality ratio. Pleasant service. In short, nice food for a nice price!

Had a delicious hamburger, good meat and a tasty sandwich, great 👍

Very friendly staff, good service and delicious food. I recommend ordering their specialty pork belly burnt ends, very tasty!

extremely customer-friendly staff very good and tasty food. good location, top location in the heart of Herkenbosch

Very tasty food, fair prices and very good service. The beer selection is also very large and good

Great food for a good price. Friendly staff and good service.

First time eating.. delicious crispy fries Lots of choice in dishes nice staff. work fast nice and clean And finally just Dutch staff and, I think, also a Dutch boss....

Very friendly service. Good service. Eat good. Fine

Got sick twice after eating here, the first time could have been a coincidence but not the 2nd time, never been there again.

Spoon list completed, once fries in NL.

Very tasty 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 . Service super friendly. Food is simply great.

We ate a delicious ice cream there, it also looked very nice and tasty 👍👍

Here I ate a Boerenburger and an ice cream Sundae. The burger and ice cream were delicious, the service friendly.

Nice and spontaneous service by the staff and the food tastes good because you get a real plate with cutlery, which certainly improves the quality of De Aethook

Mega hot fries and co. It's also nice to sit outside in the shade. I went there two days in a row and will definitely go there more often in the future.

Absolutely outstanding service and great food. We were some lost Aussies when we walked in and felt like locals when we left.

Erg vriendelijk personeel.

Burgers delicious and large portions ;)

(Zeer)goede prijs/kwaliteitverhouding. Portiegrootte perfect.
