De Bakery in Wijk 04 Benoordenhout

Went here for the first time. It wasn't full, but the service, while friendly, was very slow. I was looking forward to a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream, but it was a huge disappointment: watery hot milk with a piece of chocolate in it that had to melt! I've never had such bad hot chocolate! The glass was so full that the whipped cream (from a can) was served separately. I'll try something different next time. My sausage roll was good, though.

An unassuming bakery with a built-in cafe serves a really tasty toasti in The Hague. They also serve as an outlet for the Lekker Brood freshly baked breads. Plenty of tasty baked goods - yes and also a walnut carrot cake! Friendly service!

Very tasty but expensive. A baguette with a topping costs €10.

We really liked it, the atmosphere... The food was delicious, fresh bread, delicious coffee. We spoke German, for which we are especially grateful.

Food and coffee 4 stars, but... Had cappu this morning as we often do. This time with a wafer-thin piece of butter cake: 4.15. I am shocked by the price and ask if there is any mistake. I should not have asked because, raising my voice, in the presence of another customer, I delivered a rant about the price of butter - "Have you bought butter in recent years?" - and personnel costs: "Would you like to pay my personnel costs? ". What an overwrought response. Will it be today's heat? I don't sit on a terrace and receive a loud reprimand after asking about the price. Then no more going to De Bakery.

Went there for a sandwich on the go (pulled chicken) and unfortunately it took quite a while (15-25 min). This is understandable because it is more of a sit down location than a take away. But they offer it. Sandwich was ok, could have more herbs in my opinion.

Lunch menu is not brought despite request, after getting it myself no one comes to take the order. So back inside, staff appears to be completely unskilled with ordering app, but with some perseverance on their part and patience on my part they still succeeded. Unfortunately not delivered complete. But left it like that. It was on the bill again. Very cozy, but for me a bit TOO.

De beste koffie van Den Haag en omstreken. Ik rij altijd langs als ik in Den Haag ben voor een geweldige cappucino en het liefst met een heerlijk broodje of een overheerlijk stukje taart.

Unfriendly owner, not only to me, but also to other guests. Also forgot my order. Can happen, but no excuses, just the laconic comment that he had too few staff. I won't come here anymore!

Onvriendelijke eigenaar, niet alleen tegen mij, maar ook tegen andere gasten; kortaf chaotisch en gestrest. Ook mijn bestelling vergeten. Kan gebeuren, maar geen excuses, doch slechts de laconieke opmerking dat hij te weinig personeel had. Hier kom ik niet meer.

What a disappointment. Waited 1 hour for a sandwich, which was cold when I got it and that for €5.25. And to say the least it was busy, well no not really. This was the second time, but really the last. A shame, because they could make something beautiful out of it. It's as if they'd rather not see you come.

A bread shop that has developed into the living room of the neighborhood. Good coffee, tasty pastries. Nothing alcoholic. Nice thing.

Huiselijke sfeer, slow food, op vrijdag kun je avondeten, wel even reserveren. Leuk voor ouderen uit de buurt en voor wie met of naast hen een koffie drinkt. Buurthuis functie, sociale rol in de wijk. En cadeautjes te halen, flesje olie, luxe koekjes, dat soort.

Leuke, niet te drukke plek om wat te drinken en/of te eten op het terras of binnen.

Prima koffie en lekker pecangebak

Lekkere koffie, taartjes en brood(jes). Precies goed voor de lunch of thee met taart. En een winkel erbij met van alles wat. Bediening is aardig en attent.

Dit was een teleurstelling. Zitten aan een vieze tafel die we zelf maar deels schoongemaakt hebben. Vrij lange wachttijd om te kunnen bestellen terwijl het niet druk was. Een vrij onhandige manier van bestelling opnemen die mede resulteerde in de lange wachttijd. Het eten en drinken dan: veel op het menu was niet meer beschikbaar en dat terwijl het midden op de dag was. Drinken: een beetje afwijken zoals een schijfje citroen in je thee zit er niet in. Het eten: nog de grootste teleurstelling.. Weinig boeren omelet fantasie, de slechtste die ik ooit gegeten heb. Ei zat er wel in op een fout stuk soort stokbrood dat erg moeilijk te bewerken was. Groenten die je erin verwacht te vinden heb ik niet gezien. De gemberthee was slecht (veel te licht). Pluspunt! De koffie was prima. De prijs: zal aan de regio liggen, extreem hoog. Toiletten; oud, gebroken zitting, geen zeep, koud, niet schoon (was ik in Nederland ?!) Hoe dan ook, voor ons absoluut de laatste keer. P.s. kijk ook even rond in de winkel je de tranen springen in je ogen van de prijs voor b.v. een zakje chips. Albert Heijn ( op 50 meter) zal er geen traan om laten.

Lekkere koffie. Niet erg heet maar wel lekker

Op oudejaarsdag de oliebollen willen halen die ik een paar dagen ervoor had besteld. De meneer kon mijn naam niet vinden op de lijst, toen na een kwartier toch maar de oliebollen en appelflappen gekregen,, er zaten 2 appelflappen te weinig in en ze zagen er veel te donker , bijna aangebrand uit! De smaak was echt afschuwelijk, olie droop onze monden uit echt niet oke! De appelflappen waren wel goed. Al met al, slechte organisatie en slechte oliebollen !!

Goed geholpen. Heel stoer dat de meneer alles alleen heeft gerunt. Alles oké sorry mijn broodje was iets teveel.

The best tuna sandwich I have ever eaten.

Friendly staff but avoid the prepacked product that’s not their own produce. They have probably been standing on the shelf forever and taste like they have gone bad. Also totally overpriced!

While in Den Haag, I don't get much time to go out but it's a lovely bakery. Nice coffee. Warm people.

Koffieshop met winkel waar een ruime keus is in brood, taart en chocola.

Bij binnenkomen valt telkens weer die muffe zware lucht van bakken en koken zonder luchten als een deken over je heen, dit in samenspel met de zeer vlekkerige omgekrulde vette menukaartjes, de gedateerde sfeer, de armoedige wc, de afgeplakte brievenbus met loslatend tape en de keiharde plastic tuinstoeltjes geeft e.e.a. een zeer smoezelig tintje aan je lekkere lunch. Hoewel dit zaakje nog niet lang bestaat lijkt het even bejaard als het gros der bezoekers, ze denken zeker dat oudere mensen zoiets niet zien? Het eten en gebak is in orde maar wel prijzig, door gebrek aan andere horeca in de buurt ga je er toch wel heen denkt men waarschijnlijk? (en dan die naam, worden er baby's gebakerd of is het Engels/ maar waarom dan ''de''?) Jongens , kijk eens kritisch om je heen, pak een verfkwast en een schone dweil, pimp je zaak en het wordt er top!

Afgezien van de merkwaardige naam -waarom niet ''the'' bakery?- en het tamelijk verlopen (en soms wat vlekkerige ) en gedateerde interieur is het aangenaam toeven in dit zaakje. De aardige eigenaar en de zalige zelfgebakken zoetigheid zijn ware (oudere)publiekstrekkers. Bijzonder fijn dat ook onze honden zeer welkom zijn! Wel teleurstellend en verwarrend zijn de openingstijden; om 5 uur gaat de zaak dicht, juist een gezellige tijd om nog even iets te gaan gebruiken. En om kwart voor 5 word je reeds afgewimpeld c.q. weggestuurd, tenminste...wanneer de eigenaar niet zelf aanwezig is! Maar zomers zitten er om half 7 ook nog wel eens mensen op het terras, al met al dus verwarrend als je overweegt om langs te wippen. Een kleine tip: doe toch eens iets aan die haveloze wc-ruimte, staat al jaren in de grondverf en is ondanks dat het er schoon is, groezelig om te zien: basaal en onaantrekkelijk; juist zulke details maken een bezoek ''onvergetelijk'' in ongunstige zin! De tamelijk hoge prijzen passen hierdoor niet bij de uitstraling van de winkel helaas.

Lekker terras, maar bizar duur: €3,50 voor een klein kopje thee! Dat is zelfs duurder dan het Gelderland plein in Amsterdam en ook veel minder qua hoeveelheid. En een humeurige juffrouw bij de kassa. Voor verbetering vatbaar dus.

Heerlijk ambachtelijk liefdevol brood en banket. Ik zeg doen!

Sind zufällig auf den Laden gestoßen, da wir im japanischen Garten unterwegs waren und etwas in der Nähe gesucht habe. Ich habe ein Sandwich mit Hummus (siehe Bild) und mein Freund eins mit Hähnchen bestellt. Dazu habe es noch einen Kaffee für Insgesamt ca. 13€. Das Brot ist wirklich sehr fluffig und weich. Schmeckt sehr lecker, kann auch vor Ort im ganzen gekauft werden. Der Hummus war auch sehr gut und optimal portioniert. Mein Freund fand sein Sandwich etwas trocken. Aber allgemein war das Essen super. Es war noch Salat, Gurke und Tomate auf den Sandwitsches. Zusätzlich konnte man noch mit Salat und Pfeffer nachwürzen. Am Nachbartisch gab es Toastis, die auch sehr gut aussahen ;) Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich. Leider war die Karte nur auf niederländisch und sah auch nicht mehr so neu aus. Das hat etwas gestört. Die zwei-drei Zettel hätten auch mal ausgetauscht werden können.
