De Bakkerswinkel in Centrum

I came here 45 years ago and it's still great fun.

We arrived right after opening, and the best seats weren't set up yet, so we had to sit at the very beginning of the lunchroom. We were right in front of the nicest room in the back. It took 30 minutes to take our order, even though we were one of the first. Then they forgot my food. After half an hour, I asked where it was, and I'd lost the receipt. I was supposed to be able to choose something because they'd forgotten me, but they forgot that too.

Lunch was fine. I wondered later, when I looked at the receipt, what the €3.50 open-counter fee meant.

What a lovely, cozy little place! From the outside, it looks like a small, narrow building, but once inside, you can walk straight through. Along the way, you'll encounter all sorts of things. A greenhouse, live birds, a beautiful, large, and long garden with lovely plants and flowers, and a garden shed. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and all happy to chat. I'll definitely be back.

Always enjoy this place, especially the cheesecake is addictively delicious!

What a lovely location with a great atmosphere. We sat in the conservatory for high tea. It was delicious and more than enough. The price was reasonable, but you could stay as long as you liked. We did have to ask for more tea ourselves, which they only brought at the beginning.

Friendly staff. A really nice location, tastefully decorated. We had a delicious lunch. We did have to wait a bit long for our food, though.

In a word, too bad! I went there for lunch a few years ago, great then. But it has deteriorated a lot. It was a very hot day, got the ice tea warm and also had no ice cubes. The food was just not tasty. This was also communicated and got an 'oh' is the recipe of the boss.

Had a cup of coffee with pastry here.

The bacon/cheese omelette was excellent as always.

It was very quiet so there was not much atmosphere, the savory chicken pie (actually a quiche) was tasty, but the dressing on the salad was a bit sweet in comparison. It would be nice to be there again, I don't think it had been for 20 years.

Had lunch today with 5 people. Table inside was fine but isolated from the busy terrace outside. Had to wait more than an hour for 5 sandwiches. No attention from the staff, not informed of the waiting time, had to ask after 45 minutes for a second round of tea, when asked where the air went, a short: yes, it's coming, they are working on it now.........25 minutes for 5 sandwiches later. The quality of the sandwiches was good

The location is really cozy. The food is tasty. The service is lacking. We entered the store, but the lady behind the counter continued her work. The waitress came from serving customers and politely asked if she could visit us. No acknowledgment that we were new to the store, even though we still had our coats on. We walked around the store looking for our agreed party. No other ministry acknowledged our presence. I wanted to use the toilet, but there was no indication where it was. When asked, it was explained neatly. When the others arrived we were shown to our table. Nothing was offered to us, when our high tea was brought after 30 minutes, the waitress did not know what we were being served, otherwise it would be tasty. She was right about that. Some tea bags were brought. During the two hours we were there, the waiter never once came by to ask if we needed anything. We had to go to the kitchen to ask for more hot water and tea bags.

Pay more than 20 euros for 2 coffees and cakes but are too miserable to bring a spoon for the coffee.

Had a super nice baby shower here including high tea. You were allowed to hang your own decorations. Gv was well taken care of and more was possible on request.

The food is good, the atmosphere is cozy but old for my style, I had the feeling of traveling to the past.

The lady who served us on Friday was complimentary. Because of the crowds we sat in a kind of warehouse, but it was still so cozy. She has been working there for 9 years and is so enthusiastic. Cheers.

Been coming here for years. Food was of inferior quality the last time. Reason unknown.? Tuna salad was always fresh and delicious with apple and other ingredients. Now it was more of a wet bite. Moisture ran onto the plate

Today we had a baby shower high tea for 15 people spread over 2 tables, one table received 1 pot of tea and a pot of coffee, our table received nothing. Then asked for a pot of tea after waiting an hour and a half, they said there were 4. Well, not and when you told the person who finally brought them, she walked away grumbling and insulted and we were actually called a liar. There was a nice waitress, but unfortunately we had 2 grumpy women who didn't feel like it, I think. Too bad because the location was great

Nice place to have lunch in the middle of the Dorpsstraat. The decoration is not very modern, but attractive. Service was friendly. The salmon sandwich was well filled, I doubt whether the bread was fresh, but the taste of the sandwich as a whole was fine. Lots of cakes in the display case, they looked good. Maybe another time

Top place for a delicious lunch for a reasonable price. I like places with an informal character and this is certainly one of them! At the back of the store you are surrounded by greenery and you hear special birds singing. Very nice young man served us. The Dorpsstraat in Zoetermeer is "old" Zoetermeer, much nicer than the city "heart" and the Bakkerswinkel is a gem. Highly recommended!

There was a lot on the menu, but due to diabetes, unfortunately it was not possible to choose something. When we asked for a regular sandwich with cooked and raw vegetables, we had difficulty preparing it and were unable to do so. It was very busy and little attention was paid to guests. In the summer I went regularly and enjoyed my surroundings and often made tasty sandwiches when asked, but these were unfriendly. Shame. Rush....

The cakes and coffees are very nice, the atmosphere is very nice and it has an ancient atmosphere. You should definitely visit.

It is a cozy lunch restaurant and great for high tea. They have gluten free which is positive. However, I miss the normal bread. They only have sourdough bread. I don't like that. Too bad there is no choice.

High tea was delicious, too bad there was silver paper in the cheese cake...and too bad about the easy reaction. Atmosphere could have been nicer, I think it depends on where you sit, service we always had to shout ourselves, well, less so.

We went for the carrot cake but took the high tea to taste a bit of everything. In addition to the carrot cake, the scones with homemade lemon curd, strawberry jam and clotted cream are so delicious. To enjoy. We couldn't finish everything, so we went home with a doggy bag and sourdough bread. When we got home we saw that a new piece of nut cake had been added, a piece had broken off and fallen on the floor. Very thoughtful! A point of attention are the warmed up quiche slices, some were a bit dry.

Ate a piece of banana bread yesterday and also received clotted cream (didn't ask for it). I lost 5.50 euros........never again!

Wasn't a pleasant experience It was very cold. We were given another place, which was actually much too small, some sat with their heads between their coats. Terrible noise. The dishes were put down behind us with terrible noise. Wasn't nice, we sat very close to each other. Ales from the High tea were on 2 tables where we sat with 7 ladies. Very unfortunate. Will not come back here again

It's not what it used to be anymore. And too little service. There was 1 lady who paid close attention. A pity. Had a quiche with chicken that had no taste and was too small for 7.00 euros

This initially small-looking shop in the village street actually houses a cozy and complete dining facility with an outdoor terrace and even an aviary. When you enter, you are first surprised by the extensive range of goodies and a warm greeting. If you then walk on to choose a nice spot, you will see how "deep" this store is. It actually extends several meters to the rear. Something you don't expect at the first glance of the store. We recently attended with a group of 20 people. I was amazed at the speed with which we were helped and served. Compliments to the friendly ladies who helped us. We had a delicious meal and drinks.

It was a fun experience . Good food. You wouldn't think so, but there is a large space for good food. Various areas, including outside.

What a lovely place for a party! We celebrated my mother's 70th birthday here yesterday with a family brunch. The staff is extremely helpful and committed. Upon arrival there was a nice long table ready. The food and drinks were tasty. Especially the scones, tarts and quiches. The help and service of the staff made it an unforgettable afternoon. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch!

Great restaurant with a French atmosphere. I really felt like I was in Paris! So nicely done, the garden and the canopy with grapes. Definitely come back here! The service was also nice and the food and wine were good!

Faded glory. No idea if the store has changed hands, but this is a shame. Where it was always distinctively good, tasty and pleasant. It is now expensive, dirty and disappointing. Bread was old. Toppings were meager. Serving jam in paper mayonnaise cups is unacceptable. The lemon curd was mealy, could it be cornstarch that was put in it?? And 1 tub of butter for five thin old slices of bread. Sigh.

Cozy atmosphere, tasty cakes and a lovely garden.

Had lunch in this cozy looking tent. It was just not a warm welcome, the lady at the counter said everything she had to say, but it was not warmly received. When looking at the menu I noticed that it wasn't exactly cheap. But for that price you didn't get particularly tasty food. Afterwards the lady asked if I enjoyed it, so I said so. For example, the salad had virtually no ingredients, except lettuce. I couldn't find the tomato on the mozzarella sandwich. Price/quality ratio is currently below par, I would say. I won't be coming back to this place anytime soon.

Unfortunately, the Bakkerswinkel is disappointing, orders were not served or were served too late. Lunch was particularly poor for what you have to pay for it. 2 sturdy sandwiches as stated on the menu with old cheese was no more than 2 slices of brown bread with a slice of cheese and that for €8.25. I know everything is becoming and is more expensive, but this really missed the point. Furthermore, the Bakkerswinkel is a nice store and I hope it was a one-off disappointment.

Ik kom regelmatig bij de Bakkerswinkel maar er is iets. Het personeel is compleet verwisseld, de lol is een beetje weg lijkt het. Ze hebben nog steeds lekkere gerechten en taart dat is het niet. Wat vervelend is, is dat je moet zeggen dat je je taart of lunch gelijk wilt hebben met je drinken. Anders krijg je eerst je drinken en als dat op is…. daar is de taart/lunch. Wilt u er nog iets bij drinken? Ik snap de verkoop truck maar als ik koffie met lekker bestel dan wil ik het tegelijk. Dit weekend waren er drie zieken hoorde we en was dat de reden dat alles na elkaar kwam en kreeg ik een extra koffie ivm wachten. Maar het is altijd zo. Sowieso, zeg dan van te voren dat het iets langer duurt of sluit een deel af. Ga ook niet afgeven op personeel wat er wel is (ik heb er een lopen…). Dat is niet oké als leidinggevende.

Had a lovely lunch in the back of the garden. I think it's a funny store with many surprising corners. Dishes are freshly made. Friendly service. Small minus point: bird droppings on the table outside. It would have been nice if the service had just wiped the table.

Faded glory. Recently went in for lunch. First my glass of fresh juice turned out to be chipped so I had to get a new glass, the cutlery was dirty, the next cutlery was in a napkin with a bug in it. We ordered a bouncer and a club sandwich. The bread was so old it was impossible to get through it. We got up to pay properly and leave. The waiter came after us. Did we want to take it with us? Well no. Indicated what we thought was wrong. The manager was called and he claimed that the bread was fresh. The bread is really crumbling apart from misery, so it's really not fresh. In the end I only paid for the drinks. We won't go here again

Good price/quality, very cozy garden and many home-made cakes

Het eten is heerlijk maar... De koffie wordt gereserveerd als "Haagse Bakkies". Halve kopjes koffie en personeel vond het normaal dat bij ons de Latte macchiato een halve beker was en bij onze buurvrouw wel een volle beker. "Daar kunnen we niets aan doen, dat doet de machine". Ook bij het verzoek om de gereserveerde lunch zonder brood te doen, werd aangegeven dat ze dat niet konden doen omdat de leidinggevende niet aanwezig is. En dan nog maar niet spreken over de valpartij die een mevrouw had omdat haar tafel en stoel veel te dicht bij het trappetje stonden. Ook hier was het respons van het personeel ronduit belabberd.

Take a look in the garden with the chickens and at the bosom, very old apple trees, cherries and the Judas tree on the terrace. The forest house and the cozy seating areas on the lawn. The roses and grapes grow back. It's a lot of maintenance but the fun of doing it is good.

Great place. Sweet service, they think along with you if you have dietary wishes and bake the tastiest things for their customers. The friend I had with me and I are fans and we will definitely come back! Love! Amina

The atmosphere very much depends on where you sit. Certain areas appear cluttered. Nice people. High-quality snacks. Definitely recommended, but be critical of where you sit so that you choose a place with an atmosphere

Heel slecht wanneer je een allergie hebt. Het is zoals het is, wat zij aanbieden is het en daarmee basta . Moeite willen ze niet voor je doen om rekening te houden met je wensen. Verder hebben ze alleen heel veel brood "dingen". Nee wanneer ik weef een high tea ga ik zeker ergens anders.

Lunch met vriendinnen. Uitsmijter met spek gekregen zonder spek.Griekse salade zonder dressing. Gevraagd om actie - na half uur reactie. Plakkerige stoelen en tafel. Al met al totale deceptie. Geen excuses of compensatie.

What an extremely attractive and cozy business this is. Where you can sit in the super cozy shop, the beautiful conservatory and apparently they also have a beautiful garden where you can sit, but during this visit we sat in the conservatory with the cheerful Twitter of the birds. The sandwich we had was also delicious, the coffee was nice and hot and the staff was also very friendly, which is why we will definitely come back here.

Nice old Dutch atmosphere with nice people

Very poor service and very poor high tea during a wedding function. Very greasy, weak crust of the savory pies. Could be much better - not in line with the normal service of the bakery shop.

My cousin organised a birthday get-together for her mum's 80th. We got a beautiful high tea with all the trimmings. Awesome place.

Expensive, and not very special. A club sandwich with just slices of chicken fillet and nothing special. I have had better food at various other locations for less money. The conservatory is also a bit dirty, dusty with lots of cobwebs, stains on the heating, etc. Birds are fun to watch. The gentlemen serving were very friendly, the ladies a lot less...

A very good time spent in a warm atmosphere and several pleasant environments. Despite clients' lack of Dutch, they get by in English and French without complaining or being bothered by this barrier.

Have been several times on a beautiful summer day, you can enjoy an extensive lunch in the lovely garden where you can relax or have a high tea if you reserve in advance.

Wonderful place for good food. Not very cheap. But what a location. Really great. Only the whipped cream was not right. Otherwise 5 stars.

An authentic eatery. Everything in the style of the 50s/60s (consciously or unconsciously). In addition to a normal dining area, it also has an idyllic dining area in the garden.
