What the hell!!! Best place I’ve ever been. Service… boom Drinks… boom People……BOOOM

Very cool spot in the city with great history - it’s a historical brewery with an interesting history to learn about. They brew their own beer if you wanna try local stuff, which is quite delicious and you can get taster flights. The food was great as well - you can also try the classic bitterballen such a great delicious authentic Dutch snack. But they also have steak and more on an international menu, so it’s easy to find something for everyone. It’s right by Nieumarkt, has a little terrace outside as well, where you can enjoy your beer and watch people passing by and the canal houses and take in the classical Amsterdam views. Its also a lot more spacious than your usual small crammed pub out here. Service was great, we got to talk to Alex - he was so lovely and helpful and we enjoyed a good chat.

Drinks are good. But food is very poor. We had to wait 1.5 hours before diner was served Salmon was not good. There were still many bones in it. Mixed grill. Meat tasted like it had been frozen. No taste and tough meat. Had to add salt and peper ourselves Spare ribs the same story. Side dishes very few and poor Lot of money. For us never again. 4.6 stars are based on de passed. Maybe 3 years ago till now But since new owner a couple of month not more then one star. They can't mess up de drinks so that"s why one star. Advice for good food and nice place, Van Kerkwijk Cafe Het gasthuys.

Beautiful location, perfectly maintained interior, quiet and knowledgeable staff. The Glousash soup is a real meal. And the tasting menu is wonderfully diverse.

The staff were so friendly and really made an effort for my mate's birthday. Can't complain!

Incredible place, and limoncello

The food was delicious, well-prepared and flavorful. It's always a shame, though, when you have to order fries as a side dish. The drinks (we mainly drank beer) were also good. A good selection of home-brewed beer and guest beers on tap. There are also a few bottled beers. Not cheap, but you're right in the city center, of course. We were seated near the restrooms, and they had a nasty smell that permeated the entire restaurant. That was a real drawback. My advice: fix the drain. In short, the beer and food were good. The smell wasn't fresh.

I was at a staff outing yesterday. We had a delicious meal and then enjoyed a long drink. The blond barber is highly recommended.

Last Friday we ate at this restaurant and upon returning home, we discovered they had overcharged us by €25. We immediately emailed them about it, but so far we haven't received any money.

Food was yummy. Maybe a bit pricey. Busy place in a busy area. Good service and good ambience overall. We had no reservations and no wait for a table. The place is quite big. Only 2 toilets for a big restaurant though.

We were a group of ten people and we wanted to eat a good burger. We did some Google searches and the rating of this restaurant caught our attention. Unfortunately, the experience was the opposite of our expectations. We asked to postpone the reservation because our friends had a transport problem. This was accepted. We arrived at 8 p.m. at the restaurant; we placed the order and we waited... an hour. When we went to see the waiter, he told us to wait 15 minutes and that it was ready. After 15 minutes, when we called him again; he told us 15 minutes again. We did not understand and we pointed it out to him. He then told us that it was our fault, since we postponed our reservation we would be served later... Then, he told us that the restaurant was full even though we were the only ones in the second part of the restaurant. Then, a lunar exchange ensued when we told him that we had two children in the group and that it was unacceptable to wait so long. He told us that we had two options: either pay for our meals without eating or sit down and eat. This waiter then became aggressive and made us flee the place. The waitress was very sorry and did everything she could to calm the situation down. This place is to be avoided... I strongly advise against it!!!

A good place to grab a drink with a cool brewery decor. The food was nothing special, except for the flammkuchen, which was good.

Ordered drinks and the server was polite, came back for a food order (beef burger and a chicken burger) they arrived and the chicken burger was okay however the beef burger was bright pink. Not a problem mistakes happen so sent back and they made a new one. The chef was clearly upset it got sent back as the new burger came like a burnt piece of coal from a fire. No apology and had to pay for everything. Avoid avoid avoid

Bad service, decided to leave after waiting too long. It was not busy at all (but still this was the very excuse made at the moment we stepped out)! This place needs to make some decisions...

De Bekeerde Suster is an exceptional brewery and restaurant that perfectly blends craft, quality, and atmosphere. The beer is outstanding, the food is top-notch, and the staff truly elevates the experience. A flawless spot for both locals and visitors.

It is a nice Place with Great home brewed beer. But the burgers have been very simple not what we would have expected.

The beer and meat were super nice. The tenderloin was really good and had that ingrained fat in it. Alongside it the two beers complemented the meal perfectly.

The T-bone steak, potatoes and garlic bread were very tasty and complemented each other. After food we went upstairs to the social area for drinks at the bar, and had a lot of fun. Definitely recommended!

The menu didn’t indicate the steak’s weight, but the waiter said it was 300 grams, so I ordered the €37 steak and prawns. When it was served, they said it was actually 200 grams, and it was about the size of a meatball. I asked for medium, but it came out well done. The steak and the prawns were definitely not worth €37. My husband ordered a burger, and the jalapeños and sauce he requested to be added were served separately instead because they forgot.

A very convenient place for tourists. It's centrally located and they have good beer, so you can sit down for a while and then go back to sightseeing. A cool place to hang out.

We didn't know where to go and we found this place, when we entered it, we really liked it and the truth is that we made the right choice. We went as a family to a table of 5 and everything was great. Very nice staff. Very good value for money for being in the center of Amsterdam. The most expensive thing is the drink like in all places in the center. Cheese fingers and chicken wings, delicious.

Had a drink at De Bekeerde Suster after a long time. The staff was a bit vague, at least no Dutch-speaking staff. The target audience seems to be tourists only now. Too bad. Ordered a beer, the Molen Water & Vuur. Nice beer, by the way. The quantity on the menu is a bit unclear. Above the "house" draft beer column, the quantities are 33cl and 50cl. Nothing above the other column. We assumed the quantities were the same. That turns out not to be the case. 25cl is in the glass. When we asked, we got a vague answer. It seems to only apply to the house beers. Where does it say that? It's misleading. Seems like a nice profit center. What does the Commodities Act actually say about this?

The restaurant was excellent from start to finish. The dishes were full of flavor. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The setting was pleasant and inviting. I look forward to coming back soon

Excellent place to have a drink. The lower section is quite comfortable, and the upper section is more private for spending time with friends. Recommended!

Nice place for an after-work drink.

I opted for the sirloin steak with chimichurri. When we got the food, there was no cutlery and it had to be washed first. By the time I got my cutlery, the steak was almost cold again. I had ordered it medium-rare, but with a lot of imagination, it could have been cooked medium-well. I managed to eat three pieces in total before it became so stringy and tough that it was inedible. (The steak costs €33 for 300g, so not exactly cheap.) When we complained to the waitress, who didn't speak English very well, she offered us a free coffee but couldn't do anything else. The chimichurri, by the way, wasn't chimichurri either, but something else.

A slice of comfort in an otherwise unfamiliar city. From first entering into a peaceful ambience to receiving our first course, the team made us feel at ease. Michael and the team were cracking jokes from the outset and went out of the way to accommodate our need for speed. Before backsides were acquainted with chairs, our orders were being taken with grace and good spirit. Drinks arrived at the table with enough haste to break the sound barrier and the food was not far behind. Let’s just clarify, no effort was spared despite the speed at which our food arrived. Like being transported to an edible elysium, the burger oozed flavour a sophistication while maintaining a rustic charm. Would recommend.

In the space of 5mins made a table for 16 people. Got our orders in with 5mins and then got drinks to use with a further 5mins. Lightning McQueen would be jealous, as these guys are speed! Service was excellent, jumping over mountains to feed the people. Staff were good for a laugh, even took the piss out of our mates. Good vibes and good food. 🎂

Catastrophic kitchen, 1 hour 20 minutes to receive a frozen burger. Avoid

First tip: don't go here. It started with a very sticky and disgusting menu. The waiter carried a sigaret behind his ear. Our order medium-rare meat was server well-done. The fries were nice. When we complained we got bribed with a round of beers that were not cold, smart move... Prices are quite high, service below what you can expect. Nobody cared about the whole situation. Please stay away.

I chose the pork with fries and a drink: honestly it wasn't very good. The meat was dry, no sauce, same for the small salad served on the side. The fries were ok and the waiters were friendly.

Attentive and responsive service in this Dutch brasserie that straddles the line between a tarte flambée and a hamburger. The dishes are good but far from the price. As a result, the price/quality ratio isn't very good. For example, a simple hamburger costs almost €20, even though the ingredients are clearly industrial. The street view and atmosphere were biased, as construction was underway on the canal across the street. But other than that, the terrace must be very pleasant.

A bit expensive bar but the food and drinks were high quality. I would recommend only one person to get the beer tasting of 5 different beers, have a sip yo understand which beer you like the most and then go for that specific one and order it separately.

We went there a few years ago and had a delicious meal. This time we were the only ones. The nachos were cold, and the sauces were from a jar. The bread (meh) wasn't fresh. A shame. This used to be a good place. The service was friendly but inconsistent.

How this place has a 4.6 score is completely beyond me. I stumbled inside at lunch time as the table in the front listed black angus beef burger served with fries and salad as daily offer, which sounded good enough for a quick bite. The table was a bit sticky and the waiter informed me that there was no salad on a side of burger, it was a mistake on the board (he didn’t bother to correct it though, which would have taken him a minute because it was written in chalk and there were only a few guests inside). Second, the burger was the worst I had in my life - burnt meat which tasted like a shoe sole and literally no effort when it came to ingredients - who in their right mind would cut the cucumber ~1 cm thick?!? I’m telling you, Big Mac from McDonalds was a premium quality burger compared to this. The fries were decent, however 50 € for 2 shitburgers and 2 drinks is way overpriced, even for Amsterdam. Please do better.
