Krux Brouwwerf in Oostelijk Havengebied

Krux is located in a historic spot on Cruquius Island, in the Eastern Docklands. It's nestled between modern apartments, with underground parking. (A good, sustainable solution.) Inside, there's a cozy atmosphere, and of course, they have their own beers. Non-alcoholic beer too, for people like me. Krux also has a pétanque court next to the café. I started organizing pétanque group outings 15 years ago. That wasn't in Amsterdam, but in Paris. If I start playing this ball game as a break during a tour in Amsterdam, I'll immediately think of this cozy spot! Krux was also featured in my article in the (free) Uitkrant newspaper this summer about the fantastic Cruquius Island. (On pages 40 and 41.)

Great beers and nice atmosphere! The only problem that I see is that the snack and food choices lack a bit and what's there it's expensive.

We had a fantastic evening at KRUX! We came for a beer and a snack, and it turned out there was a pub quiz that evening that was just starting. We decided to join in (why not?), and it was a lot of fun and very well-organized. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious beer, and excellent snacks. Definitely recommended!

The staff are incredibly friendly and the snacks are very good. The croquette was sensational!

A very cozy bar with delicious snacks and finger food. Great, friendly young staff provide friendly service and speak good English.

You can sit comfortably and the home-brewed beer is also very drinkable.

I don't come here for the food and service, but for the atmosphere and the beer :)

We only had one glass of wine. But we felt comfortable there. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Among the huge number of wonderful bars @krux , deserves to be called the best in terms of service and culture of staff I can recommend this bar with a clear conscience

A cozy place to grab a snack or drink a beer. Typic pub atmosphere. The only downside, for a tourist, is that the menus are only in Dutch, but the staff speaks English.

Wonderful place to have a drink with friends and enjoy all the tasty beers they have. My favorite is the Kaaiwerker, but you should definitely try the Ballaster too!

I was tempted to give low rating such that no more people are attracted to this gem and it can stay as perfect and cosy as it is! Just love this place, great beer, service and atmosphere :)

Lovely place with nice service and tasty beer. The pizza 🍕 slices are also recommended, one piece is a whole meal! Also nice if you have children, they can play outside in the small play park on your doorstep.

On point rating:9.1 Good beers they offed a tasting of 5 beers for 14.95 which is good priced and fitted to your personal taste. Food offered is g limited but fresh and good. Lice the place during the day when we where there their where a lot of kids. Terace is nice orders need to be done at bar love the place

I have known this place for years, although it was a pub it has now become a family cafe. Many children run around the tables. The beer is still great! The service… well… you get what you buy and it will be picked up when it runs out. But that's it.

Retro building, atmospheric music and vibes, tasty Italian snack pizzas and great beer! Always there’s an available spot unlike places in the city center. Place to go to!

Found it by chance near our hotel, very nice location, very good food/snacks (although there wasn't much to choose from), very friendly staff.

It is such a welcome place. I tried their beer and it was delicious. The atmosphere was so good that i was sad that i had to leave. I'll definitely return there when i will be there next time in Amsterdam

Anyone traveling in Amsterdam should not forget this spot. Small home brewery with delicious, sometimes unusual beer Citrus or grapefruit...not sweet, but tart and with a hint of citrus Very ingenious Food, rather a small menu. Pizza fresh out of the oven It's a little outside the city center in a new development area, but definitely worth it

Super fun and a delicious non-alcoholic beer; jever fun

A very nice brewery&pub located at one of the quiet corners of the city. Quite a lot beers to taste. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. At the bar you can ask for tasting before you order so it is super nice to taste your options and make selection for the taster set afterwards. Snacks are also tasty. They have some board games and jenga. Go for this place if you are looking for a cozy speakeasy type of brewery at this part of the city.

Really nice spot near our hotel that we went to one night. Lovely staff and amazing beer, didn’t get to try any food but looked amazing too.

Delicious beers & friendly, attentive staff. There's also pizza, crispy chicken and the "best bitterballen in Amsterdam". What more do you want ... ;) It's nice to sit outside on beer benches in a green area, and there are also comfortable seats inside - if you need to.

Ottima esperienza in questa birreria, siamo stati quasi ogni sera durante la nostra vacanza. Abbiamo gustato delle ottime birre prodotte da loro e mangiato qualche snack Si respira ottima aria, bella musica e ambiente molto amichevole e adatto ai bimbi anche per chi come noi è un semplice turista. Consigliato a chi ama immergersi negli ambienti dei locali non prettamente turistici ma frequentati soprattutto da gente del posto. Arricchirei però la lista degli spuntini da sgranocchiare tra una birra e l'altra

Was er op een verjaardag. Waarom maar 4 sterren? Op zich best goed natuurlijk. Komt door de wat beperkte keuze uit andere zaken dan bier. En je moest alles zelf halen. Is normaal niet mijn keuze. Dus iets minder om die redenen.

Krux gets high marks from me as they had everything to offer by way of atmosphere (it has a nice neighborhood vibe), service (staff were attentive), and food. I was there twice, for a birthday party and for an after dinner nightcap. For larger groups there is a special self serve tap available for the members of the gathering. And for smaller groups, there is a range of spaces to make use of. The atmosphere was fine as well because it had a traditional feel, but had all the modern trappings that someone would expect.

Vandaag geweest. Zelf drankjes halen. Is natuurlijk een keuze maar heb liever dat ze komen brengen. Meer voor bier drinkers. Voor andere drinkers wat minder keuze. Al met al niet slecht. Vandaar de 4 sterren. Hapjes prima. Toilet zit boven dus met de trap. Voor mij geen probleem maar wel iets om rekening mee te houden. Keurige prijzen.

Leuke bierbrouwer en mooie plek voor de buurt om te zitten. Allemaal picknicktafels buiten, jeu de boule baan, spelletjes dozen etc.Lekker bier en leuk personeel (wel zelf binnen je drankjes haken). Toilet boven dus niet rolstoeltoegankelijk helaas. Publiek niet erg gemêleerd en veel rondrennende kinderen.

Heerlijk op terras gezeten. Lekker bier is het halve werk. Lekker pizza- en kipstukjes maken het af. Relaxte sfeer.

Great beers, great service, love the setting with outdoor space for the kids to run. The food options are a bit limited, I would love to see some more choice, but that's really the only point to improve to an otherwise perfect hangout.

One of my favourite bars in Amsterdam where the parents can enjoy a good beer whilst the children play in the park outside

Een gezellige buurtkroeg waar ik regelmatig mijn buren ontmoet, wat het extra leuk maakt. De jeu de boulesbaan voegt echt iets toe aan de sfeer, en ook al ben ik geen bierdrinker, het bittergarnituur is echt lekker. Het is een fijne plek om te ontspannen en te genieten van goed gezelschap. Ik ben blij dat Krux in de buurt is!
