Satay is always good, you can't go wrong. Every time we have a steak, tenderloin, or something similar, it always goes wrong. Medium arrives at the table as rare.

Nice restaurant where you can eat well for a reasonable price.

It is always good, except the last time. Hence 4 stars. The pork tenderloin was still raw and the lettuce had brown edges, so it wasn't fresh. It was 38 degrees that day, that's why I didn't say anything. Let's just assume that was the reason.

Cozy place to eat. Nothing wrong with that. But..... the chef has his own take on what Gambas are. The menu says "Gambas". You have gambas, scampi, or shrimp. -Gambas are large unpeeled shrimp. -Scampi are unpeeled shrimp without heads. -Shrimp are peeled shrimp. What we received were pre-cooked frozen peeled shrimp. The staff were told by the chef that they "peel" the gambas themselves, so they were instructed to lie. The photo shows the "GAMBAS" we received.

The ham on the bone was not what I expected; normally it is supposed to fall off the bone, but today the meat was tough. We also ordered extra mushroom sauce for a steak because the peppercorn sauce didn't taste good, and we had to wait 15 minutes for it, with the result that the steak was cold. We pointed everything out, but it was dismissed with an "oh, sorry about that." Really a shame. Because normally De Bengel has a good reputation.

This restaurant is quite busy with customers almost every day from 6 PM onwards. It has an extensive menu, including for lunch or high tea. When you order a main course, you receive a small bowl of dressed salad with crispy bacon bits and a tasty dressing beforehand. The problem is the fries with the main course; they fry rather dark fries that you can order plain or as Cajun fries. I have asked for light-fried fries several times, but this doesn't seem to be possible. The wait staff then says that they get new light-fried fries from the kitchen themselves, but by then my main course is cold or eaten. In short, the dishes are fine, the service speed is occasionally too fast between starters and main courses, but something structural needs to be done about the fries! Perhaps fry them differently or separately, or use different fries from a different supplier. This problem has existed since the opening, and that was a long time ago; would this be the case at the branch in Eersel or Nuenen as well? Recommended: Argentine beef tenderloin; it did go from approx. 27 euros to 34 euros within a year, solely because of Ukraine? On June 21, 2026, I ate an Argentinian tenderloin again, now 36 euros; a fantastic piece of meat, and the regular fries weren't overcooked this time, compliments. The fish stew is also still highly recommended, although there is a lot of melted cheese on the topping. However, I also ate here last November 14th and had a schnitzel; I would never order that here again—not quite an old shoe sole, but leave the frying of a schnitzel to a German restaurant and take it off the menu!

We had a delicious meal, though a lot, certainly for big eaters.

This is about all Bengel matters The food is very tasty; we eat there regularly. However, they do not have non-alcoholic drinks such as mocktails, wine, or prosecco. I think that is a bad point, especially now that more and more people want to drink alcohol-free. I hope they will do something about this; then we will certainly go more often.

We thought: let's order something from De Bengel for a change. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment and therefore definitely the last time. The fries were the same color as the fries in our freezer; they were simply undercooked. I have never had such bad fries. Unfortunately, the rest of the dishes (spareribs and hamburger) didn't make up for it either. Very disappointing. Maybe this was an exception, but we won't find out. 😂

Last week, I went out to dinner here for my grandmother's birthday. After the first round of drinks we ordered, they were delivered to our table, and then a whole glass of beer fell on my grandmother's neck. They reacted rather indifferently to this and didn't seem to care. When it was time to pay, the bill showed the beer that had fallen and the extra one that had been added. So we ended up paying twice and even paying extra for a beer we didn't receive. It was absolutely ridiculous and the service was terrible.

A restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. The food is good quality and the portions are generous. The furniture and decor are geared towards large groups. It can therefore be quite noisy.

We couldn't decide on a starter, and we didn't want to eat too much of it unnecessarily. That would have come at the expense of a main course or dessert. And we wanted to be able to enjoy every course on our plates. In the end, we decided to share the bruschetta and each have a tomato soup. Well, absolutely fantastic! Delicious soup. Just right. Bruschettas too. Crispy, freshly baked rolls with a deliciously seasoned tomato tapenade. Fantastic! For the main course, we both chose the mixed grill, simply because we couldn't decide. And so we got a bit of everything. We were so happy, because it was so good! Super tender and super tender pieces of meat on a large skewer. Highly recommended, delicious! We were given a list of sauce options, but I just wanted some mayo. We also got a super tasty salad with fried bacon. Delicious! And the fries deserve a special mention. Truly perfect👌🏼. So deliciously seasoned, we almost fought for the last fries, haha. Finally, dessert. Yum yum! Swartzwalder Kirchen. A sundae with stracciatella ice cream and warm cherries. We were already stuffed from the meat, the soup, and the delicious fries. But we couldn't ignore this, of course. Fantastic! And the staff also deserve a compliment. Cheerful, enthusiastic service, who are happy to give you a pleasant evening. I think I'm clearly very satisfied with our dinner at De Bengel. We will definitely be back. Until next time 😊

Delicious food with very friendly service. We didn't have a reservation, but you can just walk in. Everything looked clean and tidy, and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommended if you're ever in Veldhoven.

Nice place but inconsistent quality of the food. The steak and the burger were good but the schnitzel was an industrial/processed one, like the one you buy frozen in the supermarket... I think that only in the Netherlands restaurants serve processed meet as a dish (with full price of main course)... Maybe it's a cultural difference, but for us it feels like really low quality and ruins the experience 🙁

Excellent price/quality ratio. Good (but not exceptionally good) food (spare ribs and satay) and friendly and many (quite young) staff. The interior is a bit outdated, boring and solid, and in the conservatory the lamps and flowers on the table were quite dirty.

Today we picked up various menus for three people. The snitzel was delicious. The fries were partially raw and soggy. The lettuce under the chicken salad was limp. The burrito was stuck to the container. All in all, it didn't taste good, and all for €20 per person. Too bad, it's been a while since we've had takeout here, and this is the last time.

The four of us had a lovely meal. Everything was very tasty and the portions were generous; better than the millimeter portions you often find these days. Our starters and main courses were scampi, onion soup, shrimp cocktail, sea bream, fish stew, chicken satay, and pork tenderloin. The prices weren't ridiculous, except for €6 for a small glass of wine and €4.50 for extra mushroom sauce. The service was also very friendly. We'll definitely be back!

We dined at De Bengel in Veldhoven with 55 colleagues. Everything was very well organized: the bubble beforehand, the quick switch to menu A, the overall service and friendliness, and the option to pay separately.

We ate here twice. The soups and salads were excellent. The main course was poorly prepared with sauces that didn't match. The fries were dry and seasoned strangely. We had a side salad with lots of burnt bacon bits. I suspect they don't know how to cook here and mainly reheat wholesale food. The desserts were very basic, clearly straight from the wholesaler. The whole place smells strongly of kitchen fumes; perhaps the extractor hood is broken? The decor is dark, dull, dated, lacking atmosphere, and unimaginative. Plus points include fresh orange juice, real whipped cream, good wine, and fast service.

Fan of the vegetarian spicy fresh burger for years, really a 10/10. Given that the Eindhoven branch has been closed for a while, I drove to Veldhoven. When I got home I saw that the recipe had apparently been adjusted :(. Where the flavors, freshness of the products and the bit of spicy were exactly right, I now got a rancid sweet bun with rocket (?), 2 tough tasteless patties and ketchup had to be the spicy sauce. Such a waste! We can do better at home..

Lunch was very good. The sandwiches were large and well-filled. Very satisfied. We've been here many times before, and the food is always good.

A spacious restaurant with a clear menu. Separately some seasonal dishes. In my opinion, the salad could have been a little bigger, I thought it was a bit on the small/sparse side. Fish pot was good, mixed grill too. Excellent food for an average price.

De Bengel in Veldhoven is highly recommended. I was there recently with friends, and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food. The staff was incredibly friendly and made the evening complete. My steak was perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous. A great place for a relaxing evening out!

Go eat there. The food was literally in front of you within 2 minutes of ordering. Edges baked (black). And someone else had ordered the spareribs. doesn't even fall off the bone. But pay more than 20 euros. Didn't see me again, I can't call this a restaurant.

Just got food for €80, 2x spare ribs, 1x pork tenderloin medallions and 1 hamburger. Normally you get 3 sauces with each portion of spare ribs (tomato, mayo and garlic)... do you think that if you ask whether you also get sauce for the 2nd portion of spare ribs without discussion... it's about €0.50 worth of sauces?!! !! Even the cook in the kitchen has intervened that this is actually not possible... they are really not good there... Then the pork tenderloin medallions… there were 2 mini slices of pork weighing… yes, 71 grams!!!!! Breeding paid €18 for 71 grams of meat, 2 bites and it's gone!! Never go to the junk again, having a hard time about 3 containers of sauce... man man

The food is awesome. We had American style sweet ribs, mix-grill, ravioli and they were all delicious. But the service (responding to the waiting customer and taking the orders) is slow. It is good to chill during the meal. However, here is extra slow. Good for groups with kids.

We were very satisfied. The staff is very nice and accommodating. It was positive that there was a menu in German.

A really nice living room atmosphere. The food is good and enough choice. Only it seems that they are rumored to be working outside quickly. Like your starter, they always look to see when you have finished to quickly serve your main course. Within 45m you will be outside again if you do not respond to this yourself. Other than that it's just good.

Gister met een grote groep hier gegeten. We hebben er heerlijk gezeten en de gerechten waren zeker lekker. Ook was er voor iedereen voldoende keus. Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk en betrokken. Wij kunnen de Bengel echt aanraden.

Zonder te liegen gisteren echt de lekkerste truffel hamburger ooit op. Het eten is ruim voldoende voor een niet al te dure prijs.

Leuk personeel, echt een huiselijke sfeer hangt er. Het personeel is goed met elkaar wat als gast zijnde natuurlijk ook reflecteert. Lekker eten en ook erg snel klaar!

Mogelijk dat ik de laatste 7 maanden wat teveel voedsel van ze heb gehad ofwel in afhaalgerechten ofwel het nuttigen terplekke. Kortom vergelijkende één van de eerste keren met nu constateer ik dat het allemaal wat minder is. Mijn favoriete gerecht was de snitzel maar de volgende keer word het toch wat anders. De snitzel lijkt gehalveerd ( kan me vergissen) als het gewicht hetzelfde zou zijn dan zijn ze wat dikker geworden maar in oppervlakte afgenomen. Het entourage er om heen ervaarde ik ook anders. Op hun vaste bakje salade na dat het over het algemeen goed doet. Ook nu weer was er iets te vieren en toch voelde het anders, het is moeilijk er je vinger op te leggen. Ander personeel?, geen individuele porties bijgerecht maar in gezamelijk schaaltje door tafel oppervlakte gebrek of de totale sfeer, weet niet precies een oorzaak aan te wijzen. De meeste ervaringen zijn altijd erg positief geweest doch nu is het een keer wat minder ( meer gevoelsmatig geloof ik dus mogelijk een dee sl ben ikzelf de oorzaak) maar nog geen reden om er niet meer heen te gaan.

Afgehaald bij de Bengel in Veldhoven Vertrouwd lekker en goed verzorgd

Het is gewoon een prima zaak om te eten. Ik vind het eten niet helemaal voldoen aan de prijs/kwaliteitverhouding. Had de garnalenspiesjes als voorgerecht en had gehoopt dat het was gebakken in chili/ketjapsaus maar kreeg het er helaas bij in een bakje. De gambas als hoofdgerecht waren ook wel goed moet ik zeggen. Prijs voor het totaal, inclusief een cola en cappuccino kwam op 45 euro neer. Redelijk prijzig.

Lekker eten, vriendelijk personeel. Helaas hielden de buren een feestje waardoor er geluidsoverlast was, maar daar kon de bengel niets aan doen.

Heerlijke spareribs heerlijk stokbrood heerlijk dessert, alleen jammer dat er niet op de menu kaart staat wat voor cookie bij de chocolate en cookie, ik vind persoonlijk bitterkoekjes niet echt lekker namelijk en had iets anders gekozen als ik dit had geweten verder geen min punten, vriendelijk personeel en mooie locatie

Service zou beter mogen, gereserveerd en toch geen geschikte tafel gekregen. Uiteindelijk wel lekker gegeten.

Carpachio was al te lang van te voren klaar gemaakt. Je moest het van het bord schrapen. Friet was veels te zout. Sliptong niet gefileerd. En de flesjes water onder de roest. Er is wel lactose of glutenvrij. Maar bijna niet samen
