De Bruijn Lunchen op de Markt in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

Last Saturday: we were not even seated (literally!) and the man was standing at the table. What a bad example for hospitable hospitality that man is; short, rude answer and grumpy. Then also those cheerful girls; they are also standing next to you if you even have the intention to sit down. But that man…. drink quickly and get out of here was our plan. And never come back.

Went here for lunch recently. I really like the concept and it was well thought out, with a nice varied menu with good prices. The spicy curry soup is salty enough to almost kill you. Unfortunately, the service wasn't worth it. The staff doesn't look around much and doesn't pay much attention to tables that want to order more than one drink. We spent the entire lunch without a drink and that was quite a struggle in the sun (see photo). After paying, we were looked away from our table so that the owner could put new people there. Then he could come back to our table - to clear us out. To hear "see you next week" at the end wasn't very appropriate. I don't think so.

My husband and I absolutely love this spot! The mustard and curry lobster soup are delicious. Portions are just right and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Great spot at Grote Market for people watching. You won’t be disappointed!

Very nice order form, kind of tapas but in lunch form. Very sweet and funny clerk! Food was certainly tasty. The only thing was that the rendang croquettes didn't really taste like rendang, otherwise I enjoyed them immensely

Great find! Dutch style tapas - small dishes which are presented together on a plank. Homemade tomato soup very good. Would definitely go back.

I had a coffee with milk and a small salmon sandwich for breakfast. Very good. But the best thing was the treatment of the girls who attended me, very friendly and helped me understand the menu in Dutch. Although the weather was bad, it was very good on the terrace. And the views of the square are beautiful.

Nice concept. Small snacks for lunch. The inside looks nice. The owner (the bald man as several describe him) is a popie-jopie. Two young ladies walking by shout "oh, come and sit here on the terrace", while we are still eating, we come and clear our table, take away the lunch menu and place it under the plant. Well the food was tasty. But the experience was less pleasant.

Loved the concept! You could pick from many tiny sandwiches and salads to make your own spread and everything was delicious! Great location on the square and reasonable pricing.

Only the waitress deserves five stars, and not for that, because the woman is a kind, nice young lady, hardworking and respectful, which cannot be said for the owner. the bar is empty. This completely ruined everything. The coffee is not good, the milk is not the right one but a strange color, only sugar is served in an aluminum can, but I am a fan of sweeter things. The waitress served very well. It's a shame for such a place, it deserves much better!

Small dishes of which it is best to choose 3 - 4 of them. Great concept!

To people who gives less than 5 stars, you have problems because this place is nothing but the best. The food is great, small portion which is perfect for 1 person or a couple. You can't have a better church plaza view than here, it's right in front of the magnificent church with 5 star view. They even have yellow blankets to keep you warm (This is the most thoughtful idea I've seen in restaurants).♥️♥️ The most important thing is the service. The staffs have the most friendly smiles and sweetest manners which made me so comfortable and enjoyable. 5-star service, no doubt at all 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻I love this place and so will you.

Ate this weekend on this terrace, bald man, service (owner?) Very popie-yippie. To the point of rude. If he thinks you should sit in a different seat because you have a better view, it is not even a question but actually an order. Explanation of the map also rude. Very strange way of communicating. The food is fine, but as long as a bald man is serving, I advise everyone against spending their money here.

Surprising menu with small sandwiches/soups/salads with which you can put together your own lunch platter. Attentive and enthusiastic service. We were convinced by the clear explanation of the menu when we were looking at the door. Steamed Buns are highly recommended

Centrally located at the market, we were looking for a delicious lunch. The shop was full, but within a few minutes a place became available in the small restaurant. We liked the small plate concept; You choose from the menu, write the desired number of each dish next to it and a short time later you receive a nicely arranged wooden plate. Somehow we didn't realize that these are almost exclusively small sandwiches ;) Maybe it helps to read the menu better. Whatever: small snacks, nice variations, plus salads and a bit of dessert. The taste of the food was ok. But I am convinced that with a little more creativity you can improve it significantly. Big plus point: very communicative, friendly owner and very, very nice, fast and attentive employees.

Nice terrace for a drink. Lunch was a long wait and mediocre. For example, the carpaccio sandwich could better be called a truffle mayo sandwich and the calamari rings don't taste like anything...

Bediening met lekkere Nijmeegse humor (wat niet iedereen snapt, als ik de reviews lees). Lekkere lunch met kleine broodjes. Lekker zonnetje op de kop, uitzicht op de markt. Kom zeker terug.

Tja, hoe fijn wil je het zien, zo dus!!

Zoals altijd: heerlijke lunch, gezellige bediening en wat is het toch een lekker plekje om te zitten!

Niet bepaald vriendelijk ontvangst. Er werd deels wel met ons meegedacht aangezien we een wat grotere groep hadden, dat was wel fijn, maar verder kwam de bediening niet bepaald geïnteresseerd of enthousiast over. Zelfs een beetje verveeld of niet plezierig. Uitspraken als een ‘saaie cappuccino’ vind ik niet echt passend. Dan presenteer je jezelf als bedrijf zijnde ook niet bepaald goed. Zelfs een cappuccino zou als een traktatie ervaren moeten kunnen worden ;) Verder smaakte het eten prima! Zag er leuk uit :)

Lekker gegeten, op de locatie kijk je mooi uit over de Grote Markt in Nijmegen. Je kan je lunch zelf samenstellen door te kiezen uit allemaal kleine gerechtjes. Leuk concept, ik kom er graag nog een keer.

Ein nettes Strassencafe mit netter Bedienung und beheizten Sitzplätzen,war sehr angenehm

Wat een top plek om gezellig te lunchen. Super vriendelijk personeel en ook de eigenaar zorgt ervoor dat je je meteen thuis voelt. Met dit lunch concept is er voor iedereen wat wils en de kleine gerechtjes zijn allemaal even lekker. Kortom wil je lunchen dan is dit een aanrader op de grote markt in Nijmegen.

Zeer gezellige ober. Brengt sfeer, maar in de keuken worden de heerlijke gerechten gemaakt.dus voor n kopje koffie of lunch alleen of met z'n twaalf, doen is een aanrader.

Een heel leuk restaurant met zeer veel keus!! Wel is het wat krap zitten; veel gasten op het zelfde tijdstip, eigenlijk zou dit restaurant een grotere locatie moeten hebben. Het concept is erg verrassend met al die kleine gerechtjes die er erg mooi en verzorgd uitzien.

Een erg leuk concept, van allemaal kleine gerechtjes en een gezellige sfeer, de uitpak van dit concept was helaas wat minder, het eten was helaas wat eenvoudig, maar niet duur, zoals je ook op de foto kan zien. Er zijn veel negatieve reviews over de eigenaar, daar kan ik me niet helemaal in vinden want hij behandelde ons wel vriendelijk een maakte wat grapjes, maar dat leek helaas niet oprecht en hij deed een beetje grof, maar volgens mij doet hij wel z’n best om klantvriendelijk te zijn.

Het is een aanrader om eens naar dit lunchcafé met gezellig terras te gaan. De eigenaar zorgt, samen met zijn vriendelijk team voor de personal touch. Lekkere koffie en prima lunchhapjes worden met een welkome flair geserveerd!

An amazing place to have lunch, the food was delicious! The atmosphere is also cozy and the staf very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely go there again! Oh and the owner had some nice jokes for us that made our day^^ 🌟
