We had dinner with four people on December 4th, and I can only say it was excellent. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and the price was low for this quality.

We've known this place for 25 years. We've dined here with family, friends, and colleagues for meetings. Every time we've been, the food has been excellent.

August 2025. A typical Chinese restaurant with about 25 seats. The owner? She's quite busy, but she remains friendly. There were takeout orders, and we counted four delivery drivers. The phone rang regularly with customers who thought it was taking too long, but I saw that people were doing their utmost to deliver on time. Saturday evenings are apparently extremely busy here. The menu is extensive, with something for everyone. We ordered tomato soup, shrimp noodles, and chop soy. Everything was delicious and well-presented. With two ice cream desserts, three glasses of wine, and a bottle of still water, we paid 85 euros. All in all, we were satisfied.

Regular takeaway customer for more than 20 years because of the good food. Today, after 7 months abroad, I picked up food again. That was so bad!!!! Tasteless chicken spring roll, tasteless fuyonghi, tasteless and rock hard fried babi pangan. What happened in 7 months?? The food has gone from a 9 to a 2. Waste of my money. We didn't even eat it but fried an egg. WHAT A BLAMAGE!!!

Why can you post a comment when you order something? I don't think they read them, no mushrooms means no mushrooms.

Hello I ordered it for the first time from Great Wall of China. The food is very tasty. Fresh and full of flavours. It was a lot of food. Boxes of food were very full. Order was delivered very quickly. The order was very tasty. Pork tenderloin with spicy sauce tastes perfect. Spicy with a bit of sweet taste. I can definitely recommend the Great Wall of China.

The food is of good quality, about what you expect from a Chinese but slightly better. Service and atmosphere are what you expect from a Chinese restaurant, but just a little better. I'll go here again next time.

Very delicious food, I ordered the 91 and it came in a very good quantity and the decoration of the plates is beautiful. The calm and pleasant atmosphere, I liked the detail of a candle on each table :) The staff was very friendly, they did their best so that we could communicate. Thank you so much.

Ordered at 4:00 PM and not delivered until 6:15 PM. If you call where your food is, it's everyone's fault but themselves. Food had no taste and every meat container leaked the sauce. An order of 50 euros can no longer contain a bag of prawn crackers. What a crap thing

Nice place in the shopping center area. Quality of the meal was excellent. Service friendly and correct. Waiting time for the takeaway was reasonable. Ample parking is a plus.

Ordered Kong Po Kai (Kung Pao Chicken) and sweet and sour pork. The Kung Pao was supposedly made in Szechuan style, but there wasn't a single chili pepper or Szechuan pepper corn in sight. Besides that, the rice was overcooked, and the food was generally bland and way too greasy. Won't order here again

Picking up food here is a good choice

Was here 4 years ago and got 5 stars from me.....I don't know what happened in the meantime, but this time I picked up a snack menu for €24.50 extra prawn crackers €3.90 and everything was really good not to eat!!! Chinese tomato soup looked like a sweet sauce, satay with peanut sauce didn't taste like peanut sauce at all, nasi was far below par, etc. etc. With a beer while waiting it cost me €31.45. So next time I won't get my Chinese meal here!!!

Picked up food here for the first time last Saturday. Order went very well, the lady took my order and the phone rang, which the lady picked up while she was working on me. Attempt 2 did not work with ordering a chef who was shouting so loudly that they were arguing. Attempt 3 Order placed and everything at home turned out not to be very warm. Got very sick on Sunday and had food poisoning. The food was way too greasy and didn't taste like what I was used to from my Chinese Beijing in Katwijk. This store is not very good.

We really enjoyed the delicious food, namely the shark soup and the Chinese wall soup, also the tepan mix. Great atmosphere, fast and pleasant service, nice hosts. Fair price. We will come back here again. We have something to compare it to - it was really great! Thank you💛💙

This was our regular Chinese, we have already had food twice that was not tasty, meat was fried for far too long and therefore dry and tough, sauces no longer tasted good, we are looking for another Chinese, very unfortunate!

Food is usually fine. Except that they seem to use those crazy instant noodles for the tjauw min and the prawn crackers that I often order are almost NEVER delivered. That's why I don't tip, that's the prawn crackers... 🥴

A household name in Alphen for years, still good food

Very customer unfriendly. The employee refuses to help me even though I have placed an order for 46 euros for 2 people. Something went wrong with both dishes, but the employee thinks it is not his problem and says he does not want to do anything to solve it. So basically I have now thrown away 46 euros and still have an empty stomach. The restaurant continues to insist that nothing has gone wrong, but then I wouldn't contact them if everything is fine. They don't want to discuss any options to resolve it.

Unfortunately I have bad experiences with the service and also the food. Today (6/18) we ordered 50 euros worth of food. The food included ham and beef and we don't eat that. I called them and indicated that the order was wrong and that we do not eat ham and beef due to religious beliefs. I asked if they could deliver the nasi and tofu dish vegetarian for a fee, but that was not possible. It was advised to place another order for at least 30 euros, because otherwise it would not be possible to deliver the food in terms of delivery costs. The other food (dry rice with chicken) was also not tasty. In short, we have thrown away 50 euros and as a solution to The Great Wall of China we could still order 30 euros worth of food.

The staircase tjoi really stands out in a positive way! Otherwise fine! For a combination dish, 1 satay is a bit sparse. But all in all good Chinese!

Food fine, but… - Hostess short and businesslike; - Highly priced; - Charge 1.80 Euro extra for nasi or noodles with food (which should even be included in our menu according to the menu): a pity to "score" 3.60 Euro extra in such a way...! So pay attention! Good food yes, but too expensive…

A real (old-fashioned) Chinese. Delicious Chinese food again after a long time. Food was super good, service was good, friendly and neat, decor old-fashioned but neat and clean. It was very busy with takeout, but that was not at the expense of the food or service. We had a delicious meal and a pleasant evening. Worth repeating! Top!!

We are people that are not ordering that much chinese food, but when we do, we want some good quality food (as most people want :P), and we found this here. We have ordered there once, and it is a little bit expensive, but when I mention, the ricetable for 2 people, is enough to eat from 3 days in total. It might be still a bit expensive, but all other food in comparison (so pizzas or spare ribs) are mostly around and about 15 to 20 euros for us as well. so 3 days of quality food for 50 euros is a good deal. Now this is the second time we have ordered today and what a service. At the moment we are out of their delivery zone (and the first time they weren't) and I did call to them to ask if this was correct. And instead of just saying yes, he explained to me that they were short on delivery drivers (3/5 were sick) BUT would make an exception for this. He told me that it would take a bit longer than normal (so around an hour) instead of the 30 minutes they promised on "thuisbezorgd". I have written this review before we have received the food just because of the gesture only. We will add a great tip to the agreed price as well.

The owner is very unfriendly and arrogant, always argues, you cannot comment on what she says, she always has perfect food and if you show that it is not so perfect, then don't blame them, but the supplier.

Ordered the last 2 times for almost 100 euros, we got soggy nasi, tasteless noodles without salt, chicken in spicy sauce, of which we only tasted sambal, it was that hot. Always had good food but lately it was rubbish, better send this chef home.

A somewhat older case. The food is often fine and tasty, but unfortunately not always. Even though we always order lean Babi Pangang, the Babi Pangang is occasionally very greasy, which is why we regularly throw away a lot. That is a shame but also terribly irritating when you take a bite and you have such a fatty piece of meat in your mouth. The location and accessibility in the Van Nesstraat is excellent, parking is often an issue around dinner time, but yes, that applies to the entire street and all the eateries there.

Delicious food and well cared for

Very bad service. Order was incomplete. Delivery was not on point, they came an hour late. After that I had to contact them in order to let them know our order was incomplete. It was literally the worst customer-service I’ve ever experience in my 25yr lifetime. In the end they delivered the two other dishes but they were cold and disgusting. Hate to say this but it my honest review.

Extremely poor customer service, no time was spent on the customer. The Great Wall of China delivers incomplete orders and then I get my order 2.5 hours late only to find out that everything is cold. I immediately turned on the deep fryer and threw the food away, it was so bad that I didn't even want to give it to my dog. 1 star!!!!

The food was tasty but way too expensive for what they offered

Voor de 2e x een bestelling gedaan. Vorige keer Chinese rijsttafel was perfect en nu viel het heel erg tegen. Grote loempia met bijna alleen maar taugé erin en 2 kleine stukjes kip. Pangsit zonder stukje vlees erin. Moet volgende keer chinese pangsit bestellen werd gezegd. Maar ja daar heb ik nu niks aan. Babi pangang spek: was wel erg letterlijk. Alleen maar vette spek. Wel heer erg jammer.

The tastiest Chinese in Alphen!

Regelmatig eten besteld bij dit resataurant; het eten is redelijk maar onlangs voor de derde keer een deel van de bestelling vergeten te brengen, dan wordt de rest een uur later gebracht, dit is niet echt ideaal. Als ik hier over bel krijg ik van de eigenaresse te horen, tja kan gebeuren....waarop ik zeg ja 1 keer maar geen drie keer toch? Ja toch wel hoor...geen excuses niets....dit is toch echt een slechte zaak!!

Hands down the best Chinese Restaurant I've eaten at!

The amount of food was more than sufficient. Lots of meat (tenderloin) in the dishes. Also delivered quickly in Waddinxveen, about 45 minutes. We will happily order more often. Highly recommended.

We ordered a rice table for two people. It was way too much food for the two of us. Shame. The food was also a bit on the edge. It didn't taste super great but it wasn't bad or anything. Also a pity that the rice contained pieces of meat with a few pieces of small bones instead of ham.

I always order noodles with shrimps, super tasty! Lots of vegetables, delivered quickly and hot! Always delicious, I'm completely happy!

A really delicious meal via Thuisbezorgd.nl... the only comment... the rice table for one person included chicken soup and fruit cocktail. Starter and dessert. Unfortunately they were both missing. But the food was very tasty.

Worthless. Don't ask for atjar...it was just there. It looked like they had quickly scooped it away. Unfortunately not good enough. Asked for no onions in the foe yong hai...guess, big chunks of onions. This isn't the first time. Same thing last year too. Thought I'd try it again.... called last time and I was literally called a liar. I now saved the trouble of calling and just wrote this. Never, never again here!!!

Tonight the snack menu of 17 euros with noodles (instead of noodles/nasi) for an extra charge of three euros. When I ordered there was a heated discussion between the kitchen and the lady who took the order. I think I know why, the noodles were covered in mold. The restaurant should be closed!!

Used the catering service of De Chinese Muur for a party of 60+ people. The food was on time, nice and hot and everyone complimented that the food was very tasty. Was delivered including good plates and cutlery!

Best Chinese in Alphen and surrounding areas

The welcome is warm and friendly. The menu is exceptionally extensive, with many tipan/tepan dishes and combination dishes ('sian fan': 4 dishes on 1 plate) in addition to the more well-known dishes. We order the vegetarian mini spring rolls in advance (6 for €5.50) and are surprised that everyone receives a plate of prawn crackers, pangsit goreng, a mini spring roll and a 'triangle' with garnish at the same time. One of my two guests orders shrimps with fresh vegetables (€23.50), the other takes the same dish as me, namely a vegetarian dish 'fried cashew nuts with vegetables' with fried tofu (€17.00), I with white rice, he with nasi (€1.80 extra). All three of us drink Chinese tea, which is served in two neat teapots (free refills with hot water) (€2 p.p.). The portions are generous in size, impressively presented and taste excellent. 'Real' Chinese music plays in the background. The service is attentive, friendly, personable and fast. The toilets are neat and easily accessible. Plus point: on the street it is quite easy to park nearby. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit again!

Net als de meeste Chinese restaurants, kun je ook hier ‘Hollands’ Chinees eten. Over de meeste gerechten zit de dezelfde rode saus, waardoor de gerechten op elkaar lijken wat betreft smaak. Voor een keer prima om te eten.
