The restaurant pleasantly surprised me, the food was top-notch, everything was seasoned properly, you could feel that the food was cooked by a professional. We had mini warming devices on the table, so we had the food the same temperature all the time, which I consider a big advantage. I must also praise the service, since we are not from there, the waitress was able to communicate with us in English and German. Among other things, she was very nice and willing to advise. Chinese music was playing the whole time, but it was not too loud, which I consider a big plus and it created a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, I rate this restaurant very well 😊

We had a delicious meal at De Chinese Muur! We stayed in Arcen for a few days coming from Haarlem.

Due to the lack of a good Chinese restaurant in Venlo city center, I drove to Velden for the first time. The restaurant is located on the main road, which is often quite busy. This makes parking somewhat difficult; there is a side entrance where there might be a spot available, otherwise there is a large parking lot on the opposite side, in front of and behind the buildings. The service is fine, as is the atmosphere, but the food is much more than just fine. It is simply well prepared and tasty. The menu features many well-known and lesser-known dishes, ensuring there is always something for discerning diners. So, this is highly recommended. Finding a parking spot or walking a short distance is no problem for this food, and I will be doing that much more often from now on.

Ordered for 90 euros; I have never had such pathetic portions for this money. No prawn crackers, no sambal, absolutely nothing extra. For a set menu for 2 people, you only get pork. Finally, I want to warn everyone because they sell tenderloin, but it is not tenderloin at all. They velvete beef; they throw baking soda in the beef to make it more tender, and then they dare to sell it as "tenderloin." Worst Chinese restaurant ever in terms of price-quality ratio. Because for that price, you should expect higher quality.

Delicious food, well prepared and nice and fresh. Friendly service, which I think deserves a big compliment, as the restaurant is quite busy. Everything runs smoothly, neatly, and effortlessly.

"Update" The restaurant has since been taken over, and while I initially thought the quality would be maintained, unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. I have experienced several times that the satay was tasteless and dry. The bami had a strange smell, as if it had been through the dishwasher, so the taste wasn't great either. Some of the staff aren't exactly customer-friendly either. On the phone, they are curt, and at the window, they are hard to understand and rushed. There is some positive news, though: the large spring roll is still top-notch, and the (koeloeyoek) is still good too. There was nothing wrong with the nasi, and the other side dishes tasted good as well. But honestly, when I consider that you pay €35+ for one spring roll with the weekly menu, I have to conclude that I find it expensive for mediocre food. Which I find very unfortunate; I have been coming here since I was at least 15.

Everyone has their own taste, of course. We've been going to the Chinese restaurant Boeddha in Venlo for years. Unfortunately, the dishes became smaller and the satay became increasingly smaller. We started looking for another restaurant and ended up in Velden. The food is delicious and the portions are still decent. Unfortunately, the price has gone up considerably in a short time. Compared to Penang in Venlo, which is also excellent, the dishes are €2 to €3 more expensive. Moreover, we had to reheat the food at home. We're not sure yet whether we'll return...

Delicious food. And they really take allergies into account. I'm particularly enthusiastic about their Tjaptjoi and Cha Chieuw, very tender and delicious.

We ate here on a weekday Tuesday evening. Takeaway was coming in quietly, and there were 3 tables occupied in the restaurant. The dim sum starter comes in the famous bamboo basket. Delicious! 1 dim sum is 1 bite! With a tasty sauce on the side. The babi pangang mix is ​​very tasty. Nice crispy pork belly, beautiful red Tsa Siu, and excellent Babi Pangang. The accompanying sambal makes the dish nicely spicy, but not overly so, with a sweet edge.

At the takeaway, I ordered a tofu dish, but it turned out there was no tofu at all (“sold out”!). So the dish was made without tofu. For nasi instead of regular rice, I still had to pay an extra 1 euro. When I asked if 1 euro would be deducted from the price for the missing tofu, I was told that I had received “extra vegetables.” You have to make do with that... Furthermore, the hospitality was disappointing. It wasn't busy, and it wasn't Carnival or anything like that. Nevertheless, a single man who politely asked if he could use the toilet was bluntly refused. When I criticized this (that one could easily let someone go to the toilet), the answer was curt: “Those are our house rules.” You have to make do with that... I rarely come here, and now I have even more reasons than the food itself.

I think they just weren't in the mood today. Rice noodles and fried rice were extremely dry, bland, and tasteless. They also take the garlic sauce a bit too literally; it consisted of 90% pure garlic. The chicken satay skewers were so dry you could barely swallow them. I have never eaten such bad Chinese food...

We can't quite reconcile the negative reviews with our own experience here. We reserved a table for two on a Thursday evening, and upon arrival, we were greeted kindly and politely and shown to our table. It was a table in the extension at the front. Because of the sun and heat, they had lowered the blinds during the day, which certainly had a noticeable effect, and the air conditioning also provided welcome relief. We ordered our drinks, and I immediately inquired about gluten-free options due to my celiac disease. I received a good, clear explanation of the options. My mother and I both opted for soup as a starter. My mother had the Peking soup, and I chose the chef's soup. Both soups were delicious. For the main course, we both chose a teppan dish (a small hot griddle). Although the teppan with tenderloin was a bit salty, both were very tasty. The desserts were beautifully presented and perfectly portioned. The pot of Chinese tea afterward completed the experience. The restaurant is cozy and atmospheric, not too modern, decorated with beautiful carpets, an aquarium, and a water feature with fish. The tables are still covered with lovely tablecloths and elegantly folded cloth napkins. There's also soothing music playing. In my opinion, this greatly enhances the atmosphere, helps the restaurant maintain its identity, and sets it apart from the standard all-you-can-eat restaurants of today. The prices may be a bit higher than people are used to from a Chinese takeout restaurant, but the cuisine and setting are clearly much more refined than those typical restaurants, especially if you opt for the more special dishes. In our opinion, the price-quality ratio is excellent.

A hidden gem in Velden – the Great Wall of China surprises on every level What a wonderful surprise! At the Great Wall of China in Velden, you feel welcome from the very first moment. Friendly staff, a warm welcome, and – importantly – ample parking in front of the door and in the square near "de Appie" (the supermarket). The menu is simple and familiar at first glance: exactly what you expect from a traditional (takeaway) Chinese restaurant. But don't be fooled. Ask for one of the chef's creations and you'll be amazed. We were completely blown away by the delicious, fresh, and tender dishes that appeared on the table. So flavorful and diverse that you wonder why this restaurant isn't in the newspaper every week. It's probably less suitable for vegetarians and vegans, unless they simply enjoy the company and the atmosphere ;-) What also really stood out: the acoustics. No annoying murmur, no echo – just quiet conversation and enjoying your table companions. What a relief. In short: highly recommended... but please, people, don't go here. That way, there'll be a spot for us 😊

The buffet is fantastic, although it doesn't include drinks or dessert, but it features high-quality and, above all, fresh products. The lamb, beef, and pork, as well as the seafood, are delicious. The price of €35 per person is justified. We will definitely return on our next visit to the seaside.

We have been getting takeout from this restaurant with some regularity for years. Since the takeover, prices have risen significantly, while the portions actually seem to have become smaller. The quality is still reasonable in itself, but it was noticeably better under the previous owner. Last week, we decided to eat in the restaurant itself for a change, but unfortunately, that was a major disappointment. In my opinion, the dishes are far too pricey in relation to the quantity and quality. Moreover, the atmosphere was neither inviting nor cozy, which did not improve the experience. In short: for a quick takeout meal, it is still acceptable, but I will not be returning to the restaurant itself.

You can eat cheaper in many places than here in a village. The food is tasty but nothing special and very expensive for what you get. I went to eat here recently and there isn't a single normal dish on the menu for less than €20.50; it says lots of vegetables, but it was actually just a bowl of noodles, the vegetables and meat were nowhere to be found. Not good value for money. You are better off getting takeout here (weekly menu).

Net twee vegetarische loempias afgehaald en bij thuiskomst blijkt er vlees in te zitten de vrouw aan de balie sprak geen woord Nederlands , 4 x de bestelling moeten herhalen. Ook hadden we een eenpersoon menu bami kerrie nr a7 besteld maar dat klopte ook niet. Waarom staat er iemand aan de balie die geen Nl spreekt terwijl er mensen werken die de taal wel spreken?

We have been coming here for many years because the food is simply excellent. We always save the stamps when we pick up food. But last Saturday I was stunned when one of my stamp cards was refused (!). The reason: it has expired! But uhm... there is no date on the stamp card! They had a new stamp card design and the old ones were no longer valid. But HOW THEN...?!? I mean, the complete text on both stamp cards is exactly the same, but if you make a new stamp card, does the validity suddenly expire? That is wrong and in my opinion unfair. It was also not communicated anywhere. Then stop using the stamp card instead of deceiving people like this. There was also no form of discussion possible. No sir, you can no longer return this... A huge shame, and a missed opportunity in my view. Highly recommended when it comes to the food, highly recommended when it comes to communication & service.

Beyond expectations! Four of us had dinner here and it was really delicious! This actually tasted Chinese instead of the standard Dutch Chinese. Very cool how they brought everything to the table on hot baking trays. All the ladies were also super friendly and sweet! Recommended ❤️ (Oh yeah and they had a carp, a real cutie)

A tasty meal in itself. Still a bit disappointed in the service which was not very flexible. I ordered a combination menu that includes babi pangang, but I wanted to replace it with a crispy version, which is also available separately on the menu. (char siew) I had to pay €2 extra for it. Because I changed something. I think that's a lot. But the otherwise friendly waitress stood her ground. As a result, she missed out on her tip (I usually give fairly generous tips). The food tasted as I was used to, really tasty.

Since I couldn't decide, I chose a menu with different dishes. (A7) All 3 were very tasty, the Babi panggang was the highlight. All other dishes in our group were also very good. The service was quick and very friendly. We will definitely be back, there were many more interesting dishes to admire at the neighboring tables. Price/performance was also right.

Zin in Chinese gerechten? Dan kan je prima naar deze chinees gaan. Standaard gerechten, ruime keuze en het eten was echt niks mis mee, zelfs lekker! Aardige bediening en schattige, typische chinese inrichting van het restaurant. De prijzen zijn wel ten opzichte van de gerechten aan de hoge kant, dat mag niet nog hoger / meer gaan worden!

Ik bestel meestal babipangang en foeyanhai. Dit was de eerste maal hier in Velden , daarbij heb ik alle chinese restaurant in Venlo wel gehad. Het eten is voortreffelijk , zo vol van smaak ook de nasi zonder prei was geen probleem om te maken. Goed gevuld met ham en ei. Alles super vers. Kortom dit is voor mij de beste chinees in deze regio en kan het iedereen aanraden om klein stukje om te rijden via Velden.

Het restaurant heeft een fijne atmosfeer en is mooi ingericht, bovendien was het personeel hartstikke vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het eten was van top kwaliteit.

We waren op vakantie in Venlo en reden langs dit restaurant. Toen we binnenkwamen waren we vriendelijk begroet bij het personeel en kregen we een mooie tafel aan het raam. Het restaurant heeft een hele fijne en gezellige sfeer. Het eten was heerlijk en vol van smaak, vooral de peking eend. Ook de service was super fijn en vriendelijk. We zullen zeker weer eens langskomen!

Is gesloten, gaat nooit meer open

Een prima "ouderwetse" Chinees met een mooie kaart en uitstekende gerechten. Ik had bijvoorbeeld een eend gerecht en dat wil nog wel eens droog uitvallen. Hier niet: super mals. Ook de andere gerechten waren heerlijk. Vriendelijke en correcte bediening.

We hebben hier gelunched. Eten was ok, zeker niet de beste Chinees waar we geweest zijn. Prijs was fors, ruim 50 euro voor 2 personen.

Fijn restaurant. Ik haal hier altijd af. Het eten is lekker en de prijzen zijn goed.

Beste restaurant ooit, super lekker eten. Afhalen en er zitten. Het is duur, maar hoe goed het eten daar is, maakt de prijs niet zo veel uit voor mij 😁
