The waterfront location is beautiful. The atmosphere is great! Hospitality is paramount. The service is friendly. The food is delicious and good. It's clean. I always enjoy coming here!!

Highly recommended for lunch. This restaurant has succeeded in delivering quality food at a very reasonable price: where else can you find well-filled (lunch) sandwiches for under €10? And those sandwiches are also generously topped with high-quality fillings? The conservatory is a lovely spot with a view over the lakes, but the restaurant is also cozy. Some chairs could use some reupholstery, but overall, that's a nitpick...

I was fortunate enough to celebrate my 70th birthday at Eetcafé de Eend. It was in the conservatory, a wonderful spot by the water. It was perfect for our group of over 30 people. First, we had drinks and delicious savory snacks. The staff was prompt, attentive, and friendly throughout the evening. Then came dinner—delicious! All three courses were excellent. My compliments to the chef(s). Everyone was also served their food simultaneously, which doesn't always happen everywhere. It certainly did at de Eend. In short, our appreciation goes out to the entire organization! It was a fantastic birthday. We will definitely be back to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of de Eend.

The meat dishes were excellent, the side dishes mediocre. Inside, the distance between the large, fully occupied table was narrow, which unfortunately made it quite noisy. The view over the water makes up for it, though.

Once and never again. It was nice and quiet upon arrival, but the building was old and dirty. Not very welcoming. I ordered the super satay, but it turned out to be just one skewer. I would have had to pay €23.50 for this. When I told him I didn't think this was reasonable for that price, I was told to buy a T-bone steak, with a condescending smile from Robert Jan, the waitress. We also had to wait an incredibly long time for the rest of our food.

We've been living in Loosdrecht for over a year now, and De Eend is definitely one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always impeccable, as is the service. It's a beautiful waterfront location where you can enjoy the outdoor terrace on a lovely summer evening. We hope to continue enjoying all the delicacies for a long time to come!

I didn't think it was very fresh how many dogs were walking around here, I am allergic and had not seen anywhere in advance that they have and allow dogs. They just walked around the restaurant and were smelling people's stuff. When it started to rain it also started to smell like wet dog. The food was delicious, I had a salad with duck breast and I really recommend it! The staff is super sweet and helpful. We did wait about 1.5 hours for dinner on Sunday. They were super busy, you could see that, but longer than an hour is quite intense.

Good atmosphere and excellent food

On some photos from Google we thought we saw a somewhat "simple" restaurant. However, this was not the case at all, the restaurant has a beautiful back terrace where you have a wonderful view over the lakes! Incredibly friendly and thoughtful service and in addition every dish was delicious! From a sandwich with homemade olive oil as a starter to the dessert, we enjoyed everything. And that for a very reasonable price. +1 for accessibility and interaction with the dogs on the terrace. We were unexpectedly wonderfully relieved for an evening. We will be back soon!

Wanted lunch on a Tuesday and was disappointed most places were closed. Then finally as luck would have it this little beauty had an open sign outside. We enjoyed an extended lunch of high quality in a very cosy atmosphere and enjoyed the lovely views. Will go there any time again if we're in the area.

The Duck! And they have ducks everywhere inside! Haha - It's quite cute! It was a really nice place to go and enjoy a night out for dinner, perfect for a cold winter night. The staff can speak English so that helped out abit. We used google translate for the menu 😂 We obviously tried to speak the language, but we didn't want to embarrass ourselves or them by butchering it. 😅 All in all, it was a lovely experience.

It is so fantastic in this time and place to find where you can also get coffee (to go) during the day, in our case a delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream. A brownie topped it all off three quarters of the way through our walk! A few years later… we had a very nice lunch. Our group mainly ordered salads that were delicious. Desserts were also worth it and despite the names with a well-known twist, they also had surprises. Good and friendly service, we would like to see that more often! And of course a beautiful view of the small boats at the jetties in front of the door and the Loosdrechtse Plassen.

The salad dressing was so overpowering that I couldn't taste the duck anymore. The duck in the Ducky dish was very tough and to top it all off I also got a knife in my back when it fell off a tray. Shirt dirty, sore back and I couldn't even say sorry. Really scandalous. In addition, my chair was kicked four times during the evening by the staff, as if my chair was in their path. I expected a reaction from the restaurant, especially after a negative review, but spreading lies about me and the actions of the restaurant staff really rubs me the wrong way. My husband also indicates that no apologies were made and that I indicated that I wanted to be left alone for a while. Not as is claimed below that the manager could no longer do anything for me after having apologized. I was asked two questions 'is your shirt dirty and did you hurt yourself?' When my husband said 'you can see that, can't you?' on the first question and I answered 'Yes quite' on the second question I said 'leave me alone for now'. After that no more reaction from the staff and then such a reaction? SHAMEFUL!

An unexpected place. We arrived by chance on our way to Amsterdam and were delighted with the experience. Rich and varied food. Quiet place with very friendly staff, except for the owner who let her two huge dogs roam freely between the tables.

Really enjoy it here! The Peking duck is an absolute must! Service of a higher level with an atmosphere that you can admire. I would love to come back again when I find myself in Loosdrecht!

Nice restaurant, beautifully situated on the water in Loosdrecht. The decor is simple, but effective. Not a very comfortable seat. The food is good, but not special. The same goes for the controls. Nevertheless, a great place to have dinner!

What a nice place to eat. I've been there twice in the winter months. Nice menu with some unusual local options such as stewed eel and also our own olive oil. Cozy atmosphere with lots of attributes to look at in the "duck" theme. I thought the price was a bit on the high side, but surmountable for once.

Having come here on recommendation, I am sad to say I really wouldn't be able to pass on my own recommendation. Table service was slow at times but short wait time for meals. The price charged didn't reflect in the portion sizes nor the quality. Other meals may offer a better experience but I wouldn't recommend the Doeloe - entire meal was finished within 5 minutes and I'm not a quick eater (for example: menu suggests pineapple - image shows the smaller than quarter of pineapple supplied which seems odd.) Atmosphere was great, cosy inside with plenty of gentle lighting and offering to take your coats.

We had 2 pieces of sole, which had no fish meat on it and were dry It was a shame that if it contained 5 grams it was a lot. I was looking forward to a nice fish, but unfortunately this should not have been on the menu. Fries were also crumbly.

I visited with about 20 people on tandems for lunch, having interacted with them by email the day before. It was hot, so we were happy to sit in the shade near the entrance. We were about an hour earlier than I had predicted but there was plenty of space for us. Service for drinks was OK but food was very slow. Even getting a menu took a long time. Most people's food was OK. However, I ordered the babaganoush. It was nice but tiny, about 2 spoons full, and came without bread. For 13€ is was an outrage.

Chose to eat here at the last minute. Reservations were still possible until 2045, but without any response. Were able to get a table at 2035. We were a bit rushed when making the choice because the kitchen was closing. On paper they closed at 11pm. No further comments. Was very busy, but I think that indicates the quality and atmosphere. Very tasty food and drinks! Delicious curry soup, prawns, dull 'n peat salad and "out of the box" dish. Really friendly service. Despite the pressure we felt when choosing and the speed of the courses, we had a very nice evening and our waitress had a nice chat.

The duck is located in a beautiful location and has a lovely sunny terrace. The food was tasty but it took way too long, we waited 50 minutes for 2 sandwiches.

After years of regularly eating here with pleasure, both lunch and dinner, good price/quality ratio, it was now disappointing. The house wine wasn't great. Prices had risen above average compared to a few years ago. The quality of the food was reasonable. Our impression is that commerce now predominates here and the price/quality ratio is below par.

I have been here many times and it is always very tasty and comfortable. Only today the clerk wasn't having his day, I tried to motion to him if we could sit somewhere else, but he didn't notice. In the end we changed places ourselves. Then the waiter came, I said oh yes, we have been moved, is that okay? He says, usually you ask that in advance, very irritated. At first I thought he was joking but then I said oh you meant it mean (judging from his face) He says no, I'm just being realistic. Very strange comment for the service, After this I asked if I should smoke here, he almost insultingly said no, then you have to sit on the other side (as if I should know that) but well the rest of the staff was very friendly, which is a shame that this kind of staff can ruin a place like that…. Unfortunately, I won't be going back anytime soon

It was above expectations, the food, just good, above average, and yet at reasonable prices. An idyllic view close to the water. The downside was the hustle and bustle, and I understand that. Not a place for a romantic outing, but great for a quick meal with friends, family, the two of you and more.
