Niks op aan te merken zeer tevreden over ons bezoek. Wij zijn de dag erna teruggekomen en wederom super. De steak was de beste die ik ooit gegeten heb.

The food is incredibly good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Simple dishes impress with high-quality ingredients, tasteful preparation, and loving presentation. High quality, a great atmosphere, and dog-friendly. Prices are high but justified. The value for money is excellent.

The food is extremely good. The ambiance is also excellent; everything is modern and attractive. Unfortunately, the service and side order policy are abysmal. Aside from the beer shower, bringing only three side dishes for 12 main courses without asking if that's enough and making us pay full price is beyond cheeky... They did bring more upon request, but that's still unacceptable (especially given the prices). It's a shame, the food is extremely good.

A beautiful town on the water. I recommend renting a boat and sailing between the picturesque houses. You can finish with a kibeling.

It was an incredibly delicious and atmospheric establishment! We are sincerely grateful to the owner for the excellent service, as well as for the nice gifts in the form of free tequila and a bottle of limoncello. This is a place where you want to return again and again ❤️🤗

Very tasty and beautifully prepared food. Had burgers and Asian belly slices and bread with dips as a starter. Very highly recommended. A sensible thing to do is not to serve fries and salad with every main course, as there will always be a lot left over. You can request the supplements later. Only this information could have come before the main course was delivered. The service is also way better than in most other Dutch restaurants.

Ate there last week, prices are high, but the dessert, a damblanch, costs 9.95, but what you get looks like a children's ice cream!!

Beautiful place! ...visited in the afternoon for a drink, we returned for dinner in the evening.

Sometimes everything goes wrong, really! First drinks brought, clearly inexperienced waitress throws an old gin in your neck. Sorry, sorry. You think it could happen. Then just leave everything on the floor and carry on as usual. Food is recorded. Had mustard soup from the Hanos with some shredded salmon. Okay. Later I order a schnitzel, get the driest one they had, again with some mushroom sauce from the Hanos. When serving the main course, a more experienced waitress discovers that the old gin is still everywhere on the floor. He then cleans it up, and when paying, not a word is said about the situation with the gin. Too bad, we were here regularly with the previous owners. That chef was not that lazy, and made everything himself. Now it's not worth it anymore! Really a place for tourists, good luck.

We were looking for a restaurant on a Tuesday in March. Annoying. The Dining Room, normally closed, gathered people and opened for us! Hospitality with G!

Were here for the second time and were disappointed, the burger wasn't particularly good except for the price, the menu was only in German on the internet and the service didn't speak German in a tourist town

Arrived just after 1pm. Very few people in the restaurant were not very busy, the waitress ignored us and 5 minutes later another waitress asked if we wanted to order drinks but we wanted lunch. After waiting another 10 minutes or so, the original waitress would not even make any eye contact to check if any customers needed any help. We picked up our coats and stuff and walked out. Poor customer service, and we would have ordered food and drinks, so they lost money. We told other people who were on our coach who also decided to give them a miss. Hope this will help them improve in future. This occurred at lunchtime today, 2nd April 2025.

Beef burger is delicious A bottle of water costs 8 euros

I had an absolutely delicious meal! Started with a perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth carpaccio, followed by some of the juiciest, most tender burgers I’ve ever had. The meat was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Wir haben hier zweimal gegessen, eher unüblich für uns, aber da es uns so gut geschmeckt hatte, kamen wir sogleich ein zweites Mal. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Einrichtung sehr angenehm mit kleinen Öfen, die eine wunderbare Wärme abgegeben haben. Das Essen war einwandfrei, der Salat mit der Roten Beete war allerdings fantastisch. Einfach perfekt! Klare Empfehlung für den Rote Beete Salat mit Ziegenkäse!!!

Nice meal with the family, friendly service. Playroom for the children. Atmosphere/decoration inside was okay, but doesn't win any prizes as far as I'm concerned.

Mayonnaise 1.30 Wine 6.00 Prices are all a bit on the high side and or not necessary. I think charging money for a cup of Mayonnaise is excessive and a glass of wine for the price of a bottle is the same.

It was the worst meal I've ever had and relatively expensive! We were in Giethoorn and had a holiday there, thought we would try this restaurant because of its good reviews... I absolutely cannot understand how things came about. The schnitzel is frozen and that's how it tastes. Worse with every bite. My partner's starter and dessert were OK but not particularly good either. This restaurant absolutely doesn't deserve these good reviews. However, the service was nice and the ambience was also very good, but ultimately I don't go to a restaurant because I like the decor so much, but because of the food. We didn't go there again and preferred to take a bit of a drive to another restaurant. By the way, dogs were allowed, but here too the water bowl only came when we were already eating dessert. After more than an hour we had already been there, we could have saved ourselves that.

You definitely can't recommend eating here! We had spare ribs and schnitzel and both were really bad. The schnitzel was a typical ready-made schnitzel, flattened meat and even breading and the spare ribs were very stuck to the bone and had no taste. The cocktails were all from the bottle, i.e. not freshly made. Only the service was very attentive, you can take dogs with you and the atmosphere is nice, but that's about it.

Had dinner with a group of 13 people. It was a pleasant dinner. The staff tried to please us. The food was good without being bland. So a good price-quality ratio.

Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time. We then paid for our drinks and left. 🤨 I think we were forgotten because others who came after us got their food. A beer was canceled as compensation. Unfortunately it was so late that we couldn't get anything to eat anywhere. Too bad.

All in all it was good. Of course the price for a hamburger is quite reasonable, especially since the burger bun wasn't homemade. 26€ is not necessarily common. But it tasted good. Gladly a second time.

The ambience is very appealing. The starter was okay. Bread and dips. The main course is schnitzel for €26. Unfortunately, this had the character of pressed molded meat. Unfortunately it didn't taste good at all and the vegetables were rather plain, fries were okay. All in all for 2 people 1 x starter, 2 main courses and 2 beers makes 71€. This is really ripped off and we definitely won't be coming back.

Vegetables of mediocre quality and few. Fries also mediocre. A shame because the restaurant has all the potential to be good and worth the price in terms of location, appearance and wait staff.

The location is great, waitress top and helpful. Owner was always friendly, been coming there for years. Now he was clearly in trouble and he made a distinction between guests he knew and those he knew were extremely friendly. The passer-by even though he has been snubbed for years for a simple question. Everyone is waiting. Never had such a bad experience there. Busy is good, but stay respectful to your guests and be an example for your staff. Came there regularly and it's over now. Too few staff and too many reservations. You don't expect chippings from the chip shop in such a restaurant, it doesn't get any better.

It was very busy, tables were reserved but no guests sat there for an hour and no guests yet and we had no food, that's a lot of income they are missing because everything has been reserved, bad idea.

An excellent entrance, good service and approachable staff. The food tasted delicious, good combinations on a surprising menu. Owners are very involved and clearly strive for quality and excellent service. Definitely recommended if you visit Giethoorn.

We passed by as passers-by but were given a very friendly welcome by the boss and were allowed to choose a table on the cozy terrace on the canal. The girls serving were also very nice. The schnitzel ordered was excellently cooked and had a good taste, the mixed grill excellent meat that you bake on the table on a Hotstone and the duck fillet was buttery soft. The sorbet ice cream was fine, just a pity that the fruit came from a can. The coffee with cake (castles) was good. Just a pity that €2.50 is charged for a carafe of tap water. All in all we had a very pleasant dinner at the Eetkamer.

Unfortunately, the quality is no longer as it was last spring. (other menu of lesser quality) Schnitzel Lidl quality for which you pay 25 euros. Veal ribeye 27.95 which was definitely not a ribeye. Pepper steak with lots of pepper. And incredibly salty! Pork tenderloin tough! Concept steak on stone..... with salad: two leaves of wilted lettuce with a slice of tomato. Very unfortunate. Very poor quality! Not enough staff so you had to wait very long. Namely more than 3 hours for 2 courses! Spent more than 380 euros, but the snack bar has better quality!

Horrible disrespectful service from the low life man who said he’s “the boss” while violently yelling at my father. They lied about the reservation being at 6:30 for the second day in a row- mind you, we had a confirmation the first night. For the second the reservation was made it in person so unfortunately we had no written proof, but we did have two witnesses from our party that were there when it was placed and confirmed he asked for a 7:30 rez. They then, after trying to gaslight us, didn’t help solve the situation even though there were enough open tables that could’ve been attached to make the reservation possible. Instead they offered us to sit in the empty and very hot indoors. We tried the hot indoor option. We sat there sweating for over 10 minutes and not once did a server come by to even ask if we wanted to order anything, not even water. Then, after yelling at father for simply trying to see what can be done to fix *their* mess up, he offered us to sit at an old dirty picnic table on the grass between parked cars. Honestly, we were so hungry that if that option had been presented to us calmly and respectfully at the very beginning after taking responsibility for messing up our reservation- we might’ve even went for it. But the whole communication up to that point was so arrogant and aggressive that we just wanted to get the hell out of there. I’ve never experienced such rude, disgusting service. I of course did not try the food so all I can say about that is that it seemed overpriced. After reading more reviews, it seems that people who are not local (let me not assume it’s racism, as I do have reason to believe t might be..) have gotten poor treatment in the past. If you are a foreigner, I warmly recommend you put your money elsewhere. There are so many great restaurants in Giethoorn to support.

It took half an hour before we received our ordered drink and when we received the drink we were not even able to take a sip because our food arrived. I have never experienced this anywhere before.

What a nice restaurant with very tasty food.

Arrived here as a group on two separate occasions and were turned away due to their mistakes on reservations. We say 7:30p, they agree, than day of they tell you kitchen is closed. Set one for the next day, same thing. Additionally; the attitude of the concierge was awful. He screamed at our party’s leader after he tried to sit outside cause it was warm inside. We went to Casanova which was cheaper and way better service.

I cannot tell about the food but can certainly report, as a very experienced diner in better restaurants in many countries and cities, that this has been my worst experience with service in any restaurant anywhere in the world. We tried to have dinner at the restaurant twice. When we arrived the first time we were told that there is no reservation made for us in the book although I have an email confirmation from them. We then made on the spot reservations for the following evening only to find out when we arrived that they booked us for the wrong time and they have no table for us (the reservation was made face to face with witnesses that confirmed they were wrong). From that point on the attitude of the manager, who told us that we were wrong and there is no way they wrote the wrong time, and that HE IS THE BOSS was extremely degrading and insulting for no fault of ours with not even a sliver of an attempt to solve the problem they created, that could be resolved had he wanted. We ended up walking away very frustrated and angry, and luckily found another restaurant in the area that was very good. I cannot comment about the quality of the food, but no food can ever compensate for the experience of an arrogant and inconsiderate service. This place is not recommended to even try.

Steaks were perfect together with their warm welcomings. They serve meat and burger on the burning stone! It would be a pleasure for anyone who visit Giethoorn.

You come in, you are helped very well and immediately by a top waitress, everything is taken care of! The atmosphere is fantastic! But of course you come for the food... and that was unfortunately really disappointing... for the price of something like 25 euros you get a piece of pork tenderloin so dry... that you can cook it even better yourself... Do you think it would be good with mushroom sauce, which was also hard to find... sauce is sauce, that was really minimal, sauce was hard to find, with a little vegetable, and again the retarded stingy system 1 bowl of fries, 1 bowl of potatoes and 1 bowl of raw vegetables, that's nice for 2 people, but for 4 it's 5 fries per person.... How sad is that on a large plate? If you all sat at a separate table and ordered the same thing, you would have 4 containers of fries, 4 containers of potatoes and 4 containers of raw vegetables... For what you pay, it's really not worth it! Even the children's menu had more fries than 4 adults... very disappointed and yes they come and ask if it tastes good... then you can be honest, but you get what you get... and you also push yourself a bit too much. watch it if you are honest... It has everything to be a top restaurant, but the food is not restaurant worthy... sorry really... not a worthy ending to an incredibly beautiful day...

Op een zeer zonnige dag zijn we met onze boot bewust voor de lunch naar dit restaurant gevaren. We waren met zijn vieren. Er leken geen plekken meer beschikbaar uit de zon. Wel waren er in de schaduw veel 2 personen tafels leeg en twee grote tafels gereserveerd. We vroegen beleefd aan een man of er nog een plek beschikbaar was in de schaduw. Hij reageerde zeer lomp en onaardig. We moesten maar in de zon gaan zitten. We vroegen of het nog een optie was twee tafels samen te voegen, en toen werd hij pas echt pissig: schuiven ging hij echt niet doen .. wie dachten we wel niet wie we waren. Met name de horkerige lompe reactie was bizar… gewoon zeggen helaas ik heb geen plekje meer vrij of wacht even binnen misschien komt er binnenkort iets vrij waren allemaal opties geweest . We zijn vertrokken en troffen gelukkig bij Smits Paviljoen in Giethoorn super aardige bediening en hebben heerlijk geluncht . Eind goed al goed maar de Eetkamer v Giethoorn staat definitief op de zwarte lijst.

An ideal location with a lovely terrace, near the water. The staff always runs fast but remains friendly. The food and drinks are absolutely good. The atmosphere is warm. Highly recommended.

Nice location and worth a visit. The food is decent for the price. The food is Turkey-inspired. The burger was good, just not my taste for choice of beef in it. The pizza was perhaps a defrosted factory premaded?

What a lovely terrace in a beautiful place. Nice in the shade by the water where there is plenty to see on a nice day. The food (lunch) was very good and enough. The tea is served in a wine glass, which is not necessary for me, it is not pleasant to drink, but the presentation is nice. One of us had an ice cream sundae, but I thought it was a bit mediocre for the money. Only caramel, ice cream and whipped cream, nothing in terms of decoration, but the taste was fine. That was the only downside, otherwise I definitely recommend staying here!!

Even in the pouring rain we were able to sit outside and stay dry. Very cool food selection, Pizza Funghi was very fluffy and tasty. Also a baked "Turkish" bread with goat cheese and nuts. I found 1 liter bottle of water a bit overpriced for €8 but the rest was okay.

Very nice terrace and restaurant, effective and polite service, very decent steaks, but the desert-lava cake with no lava in it, too sweet and sticky, was a step back and ruined the full picture. Thumbs 👍 and keep the standards higher!
