Don't place an order! You can place an order online, but the snack bar isn't open. So, it won't be delivered! Be warned.

Ordered food. It was supposed to be ready at 6:15 PM. It wasn't. I ordered a snack and paid for it in advance. Upon arrival, they didn't have it. I ordered something else, went back half an hour later to pick it up, and when I got home, the order was far from complete. The snacks were still half frozen. So, don't order!

NOTE: New owner (August 26, 2025). The quality has really improved. Delicious, crispy fries and friendly service. Definitely worth it again.

De Eetpuzzel used to be great, but it seems to have closed. Unfortunately, online orders are still open and you can pay, but they don't deliver. There's also no response to emails, and the phone is switched off. So, I won't be ordering again; it's a waste of money.

Today I was in Alkmaar and stumbled upon this restaurant. We ordered pizza and a few other dishes – all truly delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors. What made it even better: they prepare everything right in front of you. The pizza dough, the sauce, and the fresh ingredients… everything fresh and made with care. Kudos to the entire team, and best of luck to you!

I can't rate the food, especially since it never arrived. I waited two hours and couldn't reach anyone by phone. In short, it was a disaster! So don't order!

Never received the food. I placed an order through Uber Eats, and it said it was being prepared and would be delivered within minutes. Two hours later, I drove to Eetpuzzel myself, only to find it was closed...

Ordered meal never delivered. The phone number is no longer in service, so I couldn't contact them. After waiting for two hours, they said the order had been delivered an hour earlier.

Ordered through Thuisbezorgd, order was delivered but not delivered. Paid for.

Ordered food on June 18 via thuisbezorgd.nl, food was not delivered and I still haven't received my money back.

First of all, the staff wears earplugs, and the phone is more important...not very customer-friendly, is it? Also, the fries were undercooked, the mayonnaise was as sour as a sour mulch. Let alone the snacks...it used to be different. Conclusion: never again. 👎

The snacks and fries were really good, simply delicious. But unfortunately, the experience was anything but smooth. Something had already been forgotten when someone before us ordered, so we politely asked if we could check our order. We were met with quite annoyed reaction, as if we were asking something silly. And guess what? Our bamischijf (noodle platter) had indeed been forgotten. So we ended up standing there waiting for it to be prepared. The food was good, but the atmosphere and customer service were truly disappointing. It's a shame, because with a little more attention and a smile, this could be such a great snack bar.

The food I ordered didn't arrive, even though these crooks told UberEats they'd delivered it. Contact was impossible. €33 lighter if it weren't UberEats' fault. Simply hypocritical scam. Even if I could have given it 0 stars, I would have!

Made a simple order, they forgot some fries. Can happen. She called back to ask if it could be delivered, yes it could take 40 minutes. Called back after 1 hour that it still had not arrived, was told sorry, it would be delivered as soon as possible. After 10 minutes we are called back that it can no longer be delivered. Scandalous

Delivery takes hours. If you call to find out why it is taking so long, you will receive an answer that it is a 'fake' order... Address is clearly stated. They can't answer phone calls, it's difficult to listen!! Didn't eat anything.

The staff was rude beyond imagination

Now it's been a hassle for the third time. Lesson learned, we will order elsewhere from now on. In terms of delivery time, it would be better for them to say that they deliver within 24 hours, so you won't be so disappointed if your food only arrives after 1.5 hours.

The Eating Puzzle is no longer what it used to be. We got cold fries and a croquette that tasted of nothing. In addition, they were much late in delivering and unreachable. Unfortunately, this was not the first time for both delivery and collection. Too bad, we are going to look for a new snack bar.

Food was cold and not tasty. Then you get the excuse that the jet takes longer due to traffic jams, but they drive a scooter. Forgot the garlic sauce. Burrito was also not tasty Berehap tough Fries cold. Too bad, but I will never order from here again!

We ordered Mexican and while one dish was really TOO salty, the taco had no taste at all. The meat in the Burrito was also burnt black. A real shame and a missed opportunity. Maybe specialize a little more on your good dishes and not want to offer everything, which will suffer from quality. Service was good.

Food was really bizarrely bad. Lettuce on burger was brown and bread was hard. Chicken bucket with 2 chicken nuggets instead of chicken strips. Everything as soft and soggy as anything. And everything nice and cold.

If you order a Caesar salad you get something that looks like a Kapsalon without fries. Unfortunately, the Eating Puzzle is no longer what it used to be. The supply of homemade snacks is decreasing (bring back the ham cheese bami block!), and the price is only going up, and it wasn't cheap to begin with. I expect the high price to be reflected in the quality and unfortunately that is no longer the case.

Ordered via the website for collection. We were a little early but they got started right away for us and it was very tasty! The freshly cut fries and quasasillas are highly recommended! Perhaps not the nicest place to eat, but this is the ideal place to take away!

With heels over the ditch, that's okay. Fries are good, service is friendly. Less: pin failure for some time, extremely loud music and the bear snack is more of a bear snack (tiny meatball and a micro spoon of satay sauce).

I stopped there to take Ice Cream. At the beginning everything looked OK, but as always language problems, I think they " wanted" not to understand, they used this to play with prices, I payed more than I was waiting to. First they gave a price, then I asked for the receipt ( bill paper) and they said that i must pay 2 euros more and I didn't understand why, but I payed. And in the receipt was writen more than I ordered. However, I was angry with that but the Ice Cream was delicious.

Food is very expensive for what you get and it is very little, but a lot of mayonnaise.

Ordered loaded nachos, quesadilla and burrito. The chosen salsa sauce was nowhere to be seen, nachos were covered in minced meat and beans and were therefore weak. No jalapenos seen, no spring onions, even regular onions seemed forgotten. No seasoning whatsoever in the minced meat, we had a pretty tasteless meal. Too bad, for me it's just Chico's taco again, really 10* better.

Previously the food puzzle was good. But there is nothing left of it. The food was really not tasty/good and both of us got sick from it.

Milkshake was fine. I couldn't pay by card, had to transfer money. There was a boy smoking in the warehouse so the place smelled of cigarette smoke. So I left quickly.

Scandalous quality: The Kapsalon in a bunch of unmelted cheese with cold, undercooked fries. Buns under the burger are soaking wet. Please close this place

Unfortunately, the employee was unwilling to explain. I tried to explain why I found his question unclear, but I was allowed to do so with a "𝙇𝙖𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙖𝙖𝙧 𝙯𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣....!" During the meal, the staff was mainly busy with each other, which is not surprising when there are 4 or 5 of them while they have little to do. But it was not very hospitable. The hair salon went well, but could be much better. Soggy fries. Not exactly cheap either, €30 is really the best you can get. I would rather have gone somewhere with my friends to get some sandwiches. I hope for other customers that their experiences were, or will be, better. As far as I'm concerned, it certainly won't be repeated. If it always goes like this, you won't have many customers left. Literally a rip off. Had to pay more at the cash register than stated on the price list. "It's old, I never look at that." No, but your customers do. No apology, no money back. Be warned.

I have never had to wait so long for the food I ordered, having to wait an hour, the delivery person arrives at a certain time and the food is still cold. Ridiculous for ordering 2 products. Definitely not recommended.

Order canceled, no form of contact or notification about my order being cancelled. And ive got 7 days wait to get my money back now great stuff 🤣🤣

So I *tried* eating here with friends, and clearly arrived as a group. It was a little bit busy, but they were with like seven employees. The, what I assume is the manager was quite harsh to the employees. When we wanted to order, which we did seperately, one of us could order and me and my other friend were told to wait. During the order of the friend that could order, the presumed manager was arguing with the cashier over a flavor for a milkshake. After around fifteen minutes after the first friend ordered and without even being acknowledged properly, I decided to leave. I received a text around five minutes later that he finally could get to order. Presumably the food is decent according to my friends, but I can't say for myself.

Super friendly staff and delicious food. They work super fast and you always get friendly help, no matter how busy it is. Have been coming here for years and absolutely recommend it!

Good quality, I usually take the same. Enjoy and when I get home the snacks are still nice and warm.

Very tasty fresh fries with side dishes at good prices. Friendly staff and everything was clean.

Blocks the sidewalk and corridor with the delivery bicycles and - after a friendly request - is unwilling to move them so that people can pass through.

Been in front of the door several times but closed... on Saturdays you should definitely be open at 11 a.m.... satay sauce cannot be paid for in a large container... but opening hours are very strange for a snack bar and not reliable

What did I eat? A snack with peanut sauce and fries. The quality of the bear bite was appalling. The “meat” did not look anything like meat and was not cooked long enough. The sauce was adjusted to an absolute minimum. The fries were simply not tasty. It looked like the Aldi quality that I sometimes buy. Characteristic is the lack of sugars, which means that the crust does not caramelize properly. The nice sweet taste is missing. I have enjoyed visiting the food puzzle for several years. After the experiences of my last visit I won't be going there again. I pay a good price and expect good quality in return, but that balance is gone.

The food was very tasty, but we live 9 minutes away by bike and we only got our food after waiting 2 hours! Even with an hour to make 2 fries, 1 milkshake, and quesadilla, that's an extremely long wait.

Owner/branch manager is really a horror. Staff barks in front of you, there were 8 people waiting until they could even order while no one was taking orders and when I told them that I had placed an order for pickup, she said that I was lying and that I had ordered delivery clicked. When I showed that it was pick-up, I got an arrogant look and I had to go home because the delivery person had already left. This kenau doesn't know how to say sorry...

Fries tasty, but forgot the sauce with the shaslik and unfortunately still raw. Normally it's always good.....

It was very quiet when we were there. Nice service and the food was really good for a snack bar. The homemade fries were superb. We got huge portions, for a very good price. If we are ever in the area again we will come back here!

A nice snack bar with excellent home-made fries and salads and a wide range of snacks and food. Music was Dutch when I was there. Update: is a bit of a victim of its own success. Still good fries, but I recently had an almost raw schnitzel and the chicken was not always great (on the outside of the crematorium, but still alive on the inside).

I PAID 7 EURO FOR 2 MANES, IT IS A 3 MINUTE WALK TO HOME. FRIES COLD AND HALF OF THEM ARE SMALL BURNED PIECES, SO SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR 2 TO 3 PEOPLE BUT NOW THEY ARE ON THE BREAD. WHAT A TURN-OFF.

Snacks and ice creams are busy delivering good food to your home

I have ordered from here since the corona crisis...and from several...but I have stayed with Eating Puzzle. Homemade fries, very tasty, the standard ones too, not limp or cold, delivered hot (the home-made ones were even crispy). The lettuce with chicken crunch was delicious...I had one error on the page and it was resolved by the lady very well. Great for a home delivered meal. And believe me, I am quite picky and the ones I no longer order from are not worthy of a review. So food puzzle, keep up the good work, my compliments!

Ordered food, the milkshake was warm and melted, it was between the warm food so the food automatically became cold. The food was undercooked and arrived completely messed up. We won't order from here anymore!

The best fries in Alkmaar! The freshly cut fries from De Eetpuzzel are so well prepared with tasty herbs and a good sauce, I recommend it to everyone. Several snacks have also won prizes and you can't go wrong with the Food Puzzle.

Nasi disk crushed, fries ice cold and the wrong sauce...... really not good!
