A small welcome card and amuse is where the evening was started by the restaurant. A warm welcome! Then a delicious piece of steak eaten with prawns and truffle jus, salad, fries. For dessert we chose the dessert tasting and a flat white coffee. The food was incredibly tasty and beautifully served. Friendly service, Recommended!

Gevarieerde kaart. Voor ieder wat wils. Leuk attent kaartje bij binnenkomst. Wij hadden wat voorgerechten gedeeld om vervolgens van verschillende hoofdgerechten te genieten. Vlees, vis en risotto gehad. Persoonlijk houd ik van af te ronden met een cocktail en hadden hier verschillende keuzes in.

I went to the Goudn Leeuw with high hopes and an empty stomach, but came out with tears in my eyes and a belly full of shame. The soup tasted like wet cardboard with an aftertaste of regret. The fries were softer than my ex's promises, and the frikandel looked like a burnt toe sausage. The waitress walked up to us as if she had just run a marathon through glue. I asked if the sauce could be served separately, she said yes, but it was so strange that it never came. My beer was warm, my coke had fizz from last year, and the napkin was already stained before I started eating. And the toilet... don't get me started on that horror movie. There was a smell of wet dog and old cheese. I didn't even dare look at my own reflection. In short, if you ever think “hey let’s go to the Golden Lion”, then just go cry in an alley somewhere – it’s free and tastes better too.

Als veel de maatstaf is zit je hier goed. DGL plateau gegeten. Te veel. Een voor of hoofdgerecht past hier echt niet bij. Jammer en commercieel niet handig. Met alleen een hoofdgerecht en een paar drankjes en koffie is ruim 100 euro voor deze kwaliteit eten aan de hoge kant. De vlees en visgerechten zijn niet verfijnd van smaak. Eigenlijk smaakt alles een beetje hetzelfde. Alles op niet voorverwarmde schaal geserveerd zodat het snel koud is. Er valt hier eea te verbeteren om de beleving en smaak te verbeteren. We waren met 2 personen en het was zo’n herrie in dit restaurant dat we elkaar bijna niet konden verstaan. En we hadden nog wel een gunstige plek in een hoek. Akoestiek kan veel beter. Voor romantisch dineren ben je hier niet op de juiste plek. Ik las reacties van DGL op andere feedback. Ik ben benieuwd of men nu wel enigszins positief en ontvankelijk reageert op deze opbouwende kritiek. Feedback is om van te leren, niet om te weerleggen😉

Enjoyed sitting on the terrace. Limited choice, quality was disappointing. It was definitely not a real carpaccio, even though it was claimed. The spareribs were of inferior quality.

We were able to take a seat immediately upon arrival, after reservation. Good service and fast service. I ordered the tuna tartare as a starter, which I thought was really on the salty side. Tastes may differ, this is also indicated to the service. For the main course surf and turf, the steak was not good enough. This was really tough, indicated and was politely offered a new steak. Unfortunately, it is tough again, it seems as if it has not been brought to room temperature or is of poor quality. Except for the service, not the evening I had in mind

Was nice ambiance. Only thought that the bread board as a starter, in addition to the olive oil, also included sea salt with a salt mill instead of a salt shaker.

We ordered a fish and meat tasting for 2 people for 58€. What we got was not all for 2 people, we only got 1 piece of the more expensive types such as salmon, white fish, steak and pork tenderloin, while the plank is for 2 people. When we asked, we were told, "We always do it that way, but I will ask." The waitress did not return with an answer. A lot of money for little. We didn't think it was a golden meal. Very sorry.

Service from one of the ladies was very curt and moody. Salad was ok, but little dressing. The QR on the table does not work. There were new guests waiting and people simply passed them by. All in all, not worth repeating. (1 plus.. wonderful seat heating)

2nd Visit 14-04-2024 Booked the table a few days in advance to sit quietly inside! Upon arrival, the terrace is 80% full when the weather is nice! Empty inside except for our table! Operation: 4 people running and 2 taps and of course the kitchen. After sitting for more than 20 minutes I asked if we could order something to drink. And the menu because as soon as they brought the drinks we could order right away because I could already feel the mood hanging in the air! After more than 35 minutes after arriving, we finally ordered something to drink and food! Once ordered, 3x Burgundian croquette on bread, 1x children's toast with mini tomato soup and a carpaccio salad. AFTER MORE THAN AN HOUR, we had this culinary challenge on our table! First of all, very disappointing about the decoration of the plates, because after an hour of waiting we expected a properly prepared plate! The carpaccio salad was a bowl full of ruccola with carpaccio on top, yes, you read and see correctly, a bowl, not a plate, but a bowl! I doubt whether the croquettes are Burgundian, but you can judge for yourself! The carpaccio was tasteless and the children's toast was a ready-made product and definitely not freshly made. Unfortunately the staff is young and untrained! Last time it was an older lady who still has the class and charm of honor and knows how to satisfy people in these types of situations. Unfortunately, my advice is not to sit outside where you will be served faster! and to continue walking to a better business at this nice and now beautiful market. My previous review (from 08-2023) has been viewed more than 10,000 times, for which thank you all! Visit 08-2023 Nice restaurant with good styling! Food is fine! If everything is full it may be a bit busy. But you can certainly come here for a good lunch in peace and quiet! Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside, but there is plenty of room outside on the terrace, even the dogs were nicely provided with a cookie and a drink! The service is the friendliest and happy to help you.

Little Soup delicious "Croque madame" sandwich + "Croque monsieur" sandwich, as if prepared in a pan. Bread was greasy. In over is tastier and crispy, like I have eaten in other restaurants. When splitting the bill, no receipt was received, so you cannot check it. The music (inside) was loud, it was difficult to hear each other. P.S. Team: As I already indicated, I was inside and the receipt cannot end up on the market. There were expectations, which were not met. We had also reported it, but we didn't notice anything about it (it would be passed on, unfortunately no feedback). You indicate that tastes differ and that is correct. But to date, of all the places I've had lunch (with different people) in Meierijstad, for many years. This is the first time a lunch has disappointed me. Maybe post a picture of this one (I forgot to take it) so people know what they're getting. The name "croque madame/monsieur" doesn't do it justice, just call it sandwich or sandwich with egg prepared in a pan.

Had a delicious meal on February 22. We were 5 people and were given a nice table by the window. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the tranquility. The light was not too soft so we could have a good look at the menu. We also got an appetizer on the house which was very tasty. All the food was perfect, the meat was cooked very well and the plates were also beautifully laid out. The waiter regularly asked if we wanted something to drink and was therefore very alert. Lunch option at Rooise market. Cozy furnishings

We were looking for a space where we could have a 'stimulus-free' meal for a 90th birthday. We could use the room at the golden lion and it was fantastic, music was turned down, everything was taken into account! Nothing was too much, delicious food, top service and the room beautifully decorated. Thank you very much for your thoughts and a great evening!!

Had lunch I expected better food service than I got. Sate was tasty, warm but not hot, it was doubtful to me whether it came from the grill.

Net heerlijk gegeten, top bediening, en goede sfeer. Voor herhaling vatbaar

Eigenlijk was alles top, service staat heel hoog in het vaandel en het eten was heel lekker. Enige tegenvallende was de grootte van de biefstuk, voorál omdat we in België de biefstuk 2x zo groot hebben gehad voor 4 euro minder. Heb als tip gegeven om de hoeveelheid gram, bijvoorbeeld 150gram (denk niet dat hij groter was) erbij te zetten op de kaart. De hoeveelheid salade en friet was prima en ook erg lekker. Maar al met al wél een aanrader om heerlijk te eten én bediening te krijgen van mensen die duidelijk plezier in hun werk hebben en nog weten wat service is. Leuk was dat bij vertrek de beide kindertjes een leuk speeltje meekregen. Dus mensen : houden zo!

Wij hebben er lekker gegeten. Wij hadden de combinatieschotel vis/vlees. De hoeveelheid is zeker. Jammer dat de frites erg laat kwam, na het vragen. Volgens ons hadden ze de frites opnieuw warm gemaakt en daardoor te hard gebakken. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk.

Na maanden van Pa gehoord te hebben “we moeten een keer bij Syreeta gaan eten”, was het moment vanavond daar. Eten op een dorp, iedereen die mij kent weet wat ik dacht… Ik eet voor mijn werk vaak buitenshuis, op alle niveaus, maar dit overtrof absoluut mijn verwachting! Niet omdat ik twijfelde aan de gastvrijheid maar ja, stadsmens als ik ben kijk toch soms een beetje neer op dorpsgebeuren… Hoe dom dat is blijkt maar weer!!! Bijna aangekomen op locatie draaide mijn auto de markt op… Flabbergasted… Wat een mooi pand, wat een mooi terras, wat een waranda… And last but not least: parkeren aan de deur. Deze avond begint al meer dan goed! Een fantastisch weerzien van Syreeta en Paul, en de eerste keer dat ik hun dochter Loulou ontmoet. Een rondleiding door het bedrijf en een team dat er echt zin in heeft. Ik ben meer dan blij want dat zie je niet vaak meer… Een team dat er echt zin in heeft! In drie woorden: Werkelijk waanzinnig goed! Bedankt voor jullie gastvrijheid en gigantisch lekkere eten, mij en hopelijk veel meer mensen uit mijn kennissenkring zie je vaker!

Heerlijk gegeten op het terras... gezellig

Simpel gezegd vond ik het een dertien in een dozijn tent. Misschien ben ik niet juiste publiek voor dit restaurant, maar mijn indruk is dat de eigenaren zichzelf best eens wat meer serieus mogen nemen. We hadden allemaal een carpaccio besteld, en kregen zo ongeveer een deurmat... Kijk, het hoeft niet veel te zijn, als het maar lekker is. En zo is ook de rest van de kaart niet al te spannend, wel doorspekt van reklame wat ontzettend vreemd over komt. De bediening wandelde in korte spijkerbroek rond. Op zich begrijpelijk, maar ook dat soort dingen kunnen wel iets meer aandacht gebruiken. Dit restaurant mag nog wel wat huiswerk maken.

Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten vandaag met ons gezin! Het personeel is erg vriendelijk! Ook waren ze erg lief naar onze kinderen. Dikke pluim voor de baas👍 Hanff

We hebben al enkele keren van de gastvrijheid en de uitstekende kwaliteit van eten en drinken mogen genieten en ook nu weer genoten van het vriendelijke personeel en van een chef die het vak verstaat. Weer heerlijk gegeten! Tip: als je van flat white houdt kun je deze gewoon bestellen, ook al staat dit niet op de kaart. Bestel dan vooral ook een Monchou gebakje erbij, zooooo lekker!

Lekker eten wel enigszins aan de prijs. Vreemd dat er overal reclame is te vinden. Het voelt of je naar tv kijkt tijdens prime time… erg storend! Personeel heel vriendelijk en helpt goed. Voor het eerst gin tonic 😂

Het kerstdiner was uitstekend verzorgd. Zeer goede keuken en divers. Personeel en eigenaren zijn zeer klantvriendelijk en attent. Niets is hen teveel om het de gasten zo veel mogelijk naar hun zin te maken. We komen graag nog eens terug.

Heerlijk gegeten voor een mooie prijs

Heerlijk informeel restaurant waar je een heerlijke lunch kan bestellen met verschillende gerechten. Bijvoorbeeld soep, wrap, broodje kroket en een gebakken ei met brood. In een bestelling. Verder heerlijk vriendelijk personeel. Was bijzonder leuk en tot mijn verbazing na het eten nog een aanbieding van het huis voor een kop koffie. Waar vind je dat nog tegenwoordig. Alleen in Brabant dus. Voor mij een dikke vette 11.

Jammer dat ze maandag 12 september gesloten waren met het bevrijdingsconcert van het 101e Airborne muziekkorps.

Tolles Essen, schönes Ambiente. Wenn es sehr voll ist, ist eine Unterhaltung schwierig.

Opzich prima toeven, bediening alleen ietwat rommelig / kan beter.

Nice location, good looking interior on the inside including hanging seats dining tables. Friendly workers. Food was also good I had a burger with fries. My friend ordered nachos and more. Both tasted really good and generous proportions. Would recommend or come again! Also a very tasty dessert and beautifully served.

Lekker eten gezellig terras vriendelijke bediening

Very nice place to have some drinks with something to eat. We started out with some lovely soups, and had a few different beers and snacks. Although the snacks are at the pricier side, there is a wide variety to choose from and there is an extensive beer list. There are no prices noted on the beer list however, so there is some room for improvement. I like knowing how much I'm paying for beer whilst choosing, not whilst paying :)
