De Gribus is a fantastic place for a delicious and varied dining experience. The menu offers something for every taste, from beautifully prepared carpaccio and beef tataki to crispy Korean fried chicken, fresh seafood and tender steaks. The pasta dishes, smash burger and vegetarian options also sound incredibly tempting. I especially like the combination of classic favourites with international flavours, which makes the menu exciting and diverse. With carefully prepared dishes and plenty of choices, De Gribus is a great spot for a relaxed lunch or enjoyable dinner in Barneveld.

Atmospheric restaurant! Very tasty!

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant yesterday. We were half an hour early, but that was no problem at all. We were shown to our table in the new section; this was our first time on that side. The waitress was incredibly friendly 😊. She spoke English and was born in Italy. She gave us such a wonderfully welcoming feeling all evening 😁. We asked her for some personal things, and everything was no problem; every question was answered with a friendly smile. The food was also very tasty 😋. You can imagine that we wanted to settle the bill with this Asia at the end of our evening, since she had been entertaining us all night. And I knew who Medusa is, and she hadn't experienced that yet 😉. This was her first night working in service. Asia, I hope your colleagues are willing to translate this for you, because you deserve it. You were AMAZING and you made our evening fantastic. ❤️

Really weird, there are 7 of us here and we ordered a Texels Karmeliet, 2 glasses of wine, a cola, iced tea, and a smoothie. First the Texels arrived, then a smoothie after 5 minutes, and we’ve been waiting for the rest for 15 minutes already. Gribus is kind of what the name lives up to, a gribus messuu

We ate here twice in 10 days because we enjoyed it so much last time. What stood out most was that the staff all worked so hard and had so much fun! They were all super friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Lots of choice on the menu! Super tasty food and a nice atmosphere!!

It is my favorite spot in Barneveld; everything is great: the atmosphere, the food, the drinks. However, there is one major downside, and that is the extremely loud music on the outdoor terrace with Top 40 hits. It is such a shame. At the very least, choose music that suits the atmosphere, e.g., lounge music.

The staff is very friendly and there are plenty of seats, both inside and on the terrace. We sat outside under the canopy, and it was very pleasant to sit there. A few minor points of feedback: we would have preferred less sauce with the beef tataki; you basically only tasted sauce and nothing of the beef itself. The basket of sweet potato wedges we ordered fell over during serving, and the contents partially spilled out. A polite apology was offered for this, but the basket was not set upright again afterwards, which we found a bit strange. Additionally, the fried coating of the wedges had a fishy taste, which was not very pleasant. I had expected the Bali sauce with the steak to be spicy, but it was sweet. I found that disappointing. Fortunately, the meat itself (the steak and veal entrecote) was very tasty and cooked perfectly. Otherwise, it is a pleasant place to sit, and parking is well organized in the area. We parked at Nieuwe Markt 1M Parking; there was plenty of space there, and it is within walking distance of the restaurant. All in all, apart from a few minor points, we had a great time and enjoyed the food.

I just wanted to say how nice it is that you are always so flexible. Whether we are late or just dropping by spontaneously, you always make time and space. There is a lot of choice for vegetarians, with the dishes changing regularly! Plus, there is always a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff!

What a discovery! We ended up at De Gribus on the recommendation of acquaintances who had already said that the food here is exceptionally good — and that turned out to be absolutely true. From the moment you walk in, the whole picture is perfect: an atmospheric, well-maintained ambiance, friendly and attentive staff who work quickly without being rushed, and above all, a kitchen that truly impresses. The food was simply phenomenal: beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care. To be honest: based on the name alone, we would never have just walked in here. ‘De Gribus’ doesn’t immediately make you think of such a stylish and high-quality restaurant — but that makes the surprise all the greater. We only had a starter and main course this time, but one thing is certain: we will be back soon to try the desserts as well, because they looked at least as promising. 😍 Furthermore, the price-quality ratio is truly excellent. You get more than your money's worth here. In short: highly recommended. 💯

The restaurant and the outdoor tables look cozy, as does the food being served. They had special outdoor seating for dinner; since we indicated we wanted to dine, we were given a table outside in the corner, and drinks were served quickly. After that, we waited half an hour for a menu and didn't see any more staff, so we decided to pay. Apparently, they have enough customers; they didn't need us for tonight's revenue. When paying, no one asked why we weren't staying for dinner either...

Asparagus menu: smoked salmon instead of ham, no problem at all. FANTASTICALLY TASTY. Your drink is on the table in minutes. VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. MAKE SURE TO RESERVE ON TIME. We have come here several times to eat together while visiting family from Groningen. It is top-notch every time. Very good value for money.

De Gribus is the kind of place where you just want to go out for a really good dinner or drinks. Always nice and busy, but top-quality food and a cozy atmosphere.

What was supposed to be a pleasant evening for my wife and me, as we had something to celebrate! Unfortunately, it was partly ruined, partly due to the downright poor quality of the chosen game menu, which was listed on a game menu. The reception: We had made a reservation and requested a quiet table. However, initially, we were seated in a busy room in a tiny corner, and when asked if this spot was okay, our answer was "no, sorry." We were then moved to another room at the waitress's instruction, where the spot was okay. It is a shame that if you have such a feeling right from the moment you enter, will things turn out well? We had both chosen the venison game menu. What was on the plate already confirmed my suspicions! The plate felt cold? The Knorr mashed potatoes and the red cabbage from some other frozen brand were cold—yes, really just cold—and completely tasteless. We had to look closely at the portion size; one forkful and it was gone?? We made this known to our table host (who has absolutely no idea what he's talking about and just gave some random explanations). Subsequently, the dishes were taken to the kitchen. After waiting quite a while for them to return, we both got the feeling that the dishes had just been put in the microwave? My already cut venison steak was camouflaged with an indefinable concoction consisting of, among other things, a mixture of tough mushrooms (dried) and jacked up; the red wine sauce had apparently been left behind in the kitchen?? Unfortunately, my wife had the same experience. What can be such a beautiful, flavorful dish, and yet can be ruined like this? We did receive a thousand apologies, though; when settling the bill, we didn't have to pay for the drinks we had beforehand. When asked if we wanted anything else, our answer was, of course, no, sorry, we are moving on. And well, a tip: I understand students are looking for a side job, but please, make them take a course regarding hospitality!! Conclusion: I should know, as a Chef with extensive experience in renowned restaurants! A few photos from the 90s, and I have many more like them. Poor value for money, disappointing experience. Staff just shouting nonsense without knowing what they're talking about? In any case, we won't be going back a second time.

We often and enjoy going to Gribus. Always friendly staff and delicious food. Last Saturday, we sat next to a family who kept complaining endlessly. Really, about everything. I saw with deep respect how calmly and professionally they handled this. Hats off!!!

The food was truly delicious and the quality of the dishes was good. That's precisely why I find it especially unfortunate that the service largely negatively impacted our evening. We came with two young children and had indicated this in advance. At the table, I asked if, in addition to fries and snacks, warm vegetables were also available for the children. First, I was told that the vegetable of the day was endive (something young children usually don't eat). When I asked about alternatives, I was told they were available, but it felt like I had to be reluctant or circumvented. Despite a "yes," I didn't see any vegetables. I clearly stated in advance that a standard salad wouldn't be sufficient and that this would be taken into account. After that, there were several instances of confusion regarding orders: • The "to share" tasting platter suddenly turned out to have to be ordered "double" (it turns out they charge per person, but that's not how it's presented on the menu). This isn't clearly stated on the menu and therefore feels misleading. • Then my wife's main course arrived at the same time as the "single" starter (the tasting menu that was meant for all of us, completely illogical). That was simply inconvenient and unpleasant, and when I pointed this out, I didn't get the feeling it was truly acknowledged as a mistake. • When ordering additional spring rolls, the order went from "yes, that's possible" to "only for two," to suddenly four without consultation, and ultimately even eight. This was corrected after, again, my feedback, but in retrospect, I still feel I paid (far) too much for it (almost €20.00), which is really not okay. My own main course also went wrong: I ordered red wine sauce, but it tasted and looked like pepper sauce (I'm very aware of how red wine sauce should taste). When I politely pointed this out, there was no caring or empathetic response or offer to fix it, but mainly: "This is just the sauce." To top it all off, I politely asked if there was room for a small stack of flyers for a lovely initiative for children and teenagers. My request was immediately dismissed with an unnecessarily passive explanation, even though there were clearly plenty of places where it would have been perfectly fine. Just say you don't want it; that's more honest and, of course, perfectly fine. All in all: passive and unwelcoming communication. In short: good food, but the service was chaotic, somewhat defensive, and lacking in engagement. As a result, I, as a guest, felt unheard and untaken seriously. This wasn't a relaxing evening for us, which is a shame, because the kitchen clearly has potential. Hopefully, they'll take this feedback into account.

Good, tasty, affordable. Because of the 40-45 hour limit, we were there at 5:00 PM: the starter, main course, and dessert were all gone by 6:30 PM, and the staff had already waited 15 minutes for the main course because it would have been too soon otherwise. The staff regularly came to ask if everything was to your liking. Absolutely fantastic!

DO NOT GO HERE! Don't be convinced by the 4.5 stars. We called ahead to see if something on the menu was available, and we were told yes. That's why we chose this restaurant. We made a reservation, and it wasn't busy. Upon arrival, we had to wait a good 20 minutes before anyone even came to offer us drinks and give us the menu. Another 20-minute wait later, someone finally came to take our order. And guess what? They suddenly didn't have the food I called about. But it didn't stop there. We decided to order something else. Then we had to wait ANOTHER 45 minutes for our food. The funny thing was: the waitstaff took a break 20 minutes after we ordered, and everyone had their food before us :) The food itself was cold, but okay (and not more than okay) and definitely not worth the 1.5-2 hour wait.

The three of us went here for dinner because we were going to see the musical 40-45, which is a 5-minute drive from here. The welcome was so-so... Wheelchair accessibility is also a big question mark, by the way; upon entering, I noticed it was a bit tight. There's also no disabled toilet, and the restrooms are cramped, so you can't get in with a wheelchair. The food is good, with one minor complaint: the fries were VERY salty, which I pointed out. The service is so-so... Some are super friendly, some are incredibly grumpy. Oh well, they must have been having a bad day. I think it's always busy, as we were that evening, so reservations are recommended!

And that was a huge help, because De Gribus is a truly atmospheric, cozy restaurant with friendly staff. We had a truly delicious meal here. So, if you're in Barneveld and looking for a nice restaurant, De Gribus is the place to be. We'll definitely go back next time we're in the area!

It was eventually resolved, and we were able to enjoy delicious Surf & Turf. PS: There could be a few more fries for four people! One portion is definitely not enough.

The food was very average, fine but nothing special. The menu is run-of-the-mill, comparable to 75% of Dutch restaurants. Surf 'n Turf with a small fillet steak and one prawn for €34 is definitely too expensive. Conclusion: I'm willing to pay more, but the food has to be better.

We were in Barnefeld for the annual balloon festival, and came across De Gribus by accident - and boy were we happy we did. The atmosphere was cozy, the staff were friendly, and the food was amazing! My wife and I chose the pointed cabbage with miso glaze, and the sirloin tips with mushroom sauce. Our kids chose the Korean chicken bao, and the gyoza. The dishes were exceptional, and the plating was worthy of the cover of a magazine. We were in a hurry, so we didn't stay for more, but we're definitely returning to try the desserts!

The food is very good, nothing to complain about. However, the portions are a bit disproportionate. There's relatively little meat, which is compensated for by a lot of fries. Vegetables are also hard to find. The staff is friendly, but the service could be better. It sometimes took quite a while for someone to come by; even getting my first drink order after sitting down took half an hour. Furthermore, the prices are quite high. The portions, combined with the service, unfortunately only give me 3 stars this time.

Listen. I had just biked 120 km and was almost passing out from hunger so maybe it was that but I got tomato soup and the goat cheese salad and they sent me into another dimension (particularly the salad). 5/5 would recommend, fantastic
